We love Rocco! Rocco offers a real Italian sourdough, wood-fired, and most important, No Ham & Pineapple pizza in the heart of the western suburbs (easy to access from anywhere in the city). With only 3 ingredients (flour, water and salt), it is so simple, yet so perfect and delicious. Thanks to its long fermentation, Rocco's pizza is one of the fewer pizzerias in Adelaide that I can eat a delicious pizza without bloating. His restaurants (336 Findon Rd, Kidman Park SA 5025 & 466 Grange Rd, Fulham Gardens SA 5024) offer a cosy and pleasant atmosphere, where you can enjoy your pizza. Also, I must say that the smell of wood fire pizza, is just incredible. As a pizza lover, I highly recommend RoccoPizza!

Nice night out with the family, 1st time we've been here and the pizza's were really nice, menu was simple to use and service was good. Bought a deck of Italian cards and played a few games before the pizza came out. The end of the night it was nice that Rocco was giving out bags of tomotoes to the customers for free.

A friend recently told me that Rocco Pizza makes the best pizza they had ever eaten. Last night I was out cruising in my old classic car (without my wife). I’d not eaten so decided this was the night. I parked out front and ordered the ‘Calabrese Mild’ Pizza and a glass of Pinot Grigio. As I was on my own, I decided I’d eat on their front verandah benches. Their pizzas are 12” diameter and I thought this would be more than I should eat, but the sourdough base was so light & fluffy that I could have eaten more, and the flavour was magnificent. This was the best pizza I’ve ever had without exaggeration! In addition the staff were friendly & thorough. Rocco himself also came and asked me what I thought. I responded “I’ll be back with my wife & friends.”

Yummy Italian pizzas with thin sourdough base. Lots of options to choose from, including a dessert pizza. The 4 cheeses was my favourite, nothing what I expected. There was a huge dollop of creamy cheese on the pizza for you to spread all over. Chicken pesto also had a generous serving of toppings. A bit on the pricey side, especially when we were recommended to add extra Nutella on our dessert pizza, except the staff didn’t mention it would cost extra to basically just have Nutella drizzles over the pizza, which I can easily just do. Otherwise, the pizzas are best eaten when fresh out of the oven!

This store is an absolute must visit for anyone who likes pizza even a little bit. Incredibly friendly staff, remembered my name (which is quite a feat for some) and always used it when speaking to me, just a little thing but made me feel very welcome. Very reasonable pricing too, especially for what you get. A mix of beautiful local and authentic Italian ingredients go the extra mile with these pizzas and the base. Oh my god the base. This is bar-none, the best pizza base I have ever tried. I could eat this beautiful sourdough base on its own happily, but it goes so well with all the other ingredients. Reasonably simple pizzas, but still probably the best in Adelaide. A definite repeat-offender for me. Astounding Pizza real quality ingredients show when you take your first bite. Delicious Authentic Italian Sourdough Pizza! Beautiful atmosphere, and great food to boot! This is not your Hawaiian and BBQ Chicken with tasty cheese, 'Dominos ' kind of place. But do yourself a favor and try it! This is more rustic restaurant style pizza with simple but sophisticated flavors - like you'd find in Italy! I can't believe I've only discovered this place recently. The dough to toppings ratio was spot on. The flavours are amazing. If you enjoy chilli oil and extra house made mozzarella to add on the side, this is the place to go. I only regret not dining in and eating as fresh as possible and ordering slowly to ensure freshness. I look forward to coming back to try all the pizzas!

Well.... I didn’t go to Roccos expecting what we got.. I thought I would have a quiet night and a sourdough pizza with my friends.. What we did find was an authentic entertaining evening with great food, wine and service. The place was a buzz from the moment we go there. The owner was engaging with my daughter from the moment she walked up to the door and at 7 years old she is a hard critic of food and people. ( she may have inherited that from her mother) The staff are on their game, the place was exceptionally clean, we ordered pizza and some amazing value for money wine! Dam good wine!!! (Can confirm that due to the caliber of my hangover this morning) We went for sourdough pizza.... we had fantastic pizza and great theatre/entertainment as well as down to earth service that made it feel like we had turned up at a long lost friends place who can cook exceptionally well! The turn around for the food was remarkably quick.. we ordered the garlic prawn pizza, Bianca and prosciutto and burrata and of course the dessert pizza, of course. As my 7 year old said OMG... this is super yummy mummy. Rocco was across every table and everything making it all run smoothly for a very bustling place. I wanted to add that as I went to post this I saw some bad reviews which surprised me, but I do understand that some people just won’t get the place. They won’t appreciate the genuine passion to keep it simple and complete focus on the integrity of the pizza and the ingredients. I don’t normally like plastic cup with fantastic wine but it all adds to that rustic character and once you are there it’s so clear there is so much passion and welcoming persona That you don’t even care what you are drinking out of or eating on.. If you want what you normally get at the corner pizza bar and go there with a closed mind you are missing out. Go there without expectations or judgement and have a great meal, great wine, great company and atmosphere you would pay top dollar for in any other international destination which is right here on the back streets of little old Adelaide.

I have been converted to a pizza-lover in one night! :) the salsiccia pizza was amazing!!.. It had really subtle but lovely flavours of the home-made sausage with fennel, along with delicate tomato/roast capsicum -it tasted so fresh and not at all heavy. The relaxed community atmosphere and friendly service really stood out and Rocco made us feel very welcome, as if we were at home.. will really look forward to coming back!!!

If I could eat the sourdough base by itself three times a day I would be a happy person. The atmosphere is fantastic, a little quirky and very relaxed. The pizza base was excellent but the topping combinations lacked taste. The four cheese was also very oily with a oil drip as you pick up the slice. The chicken pesto was overpowered with a strong garlic flavour. The service was very good, friendly staff and the pizza came out fairly quickly on a busy evening.

If I am buying food someone else made, it better be good and of highest quality because that's what I serve to my family. ** I am absolutely appalled and shocked by the owners response to this review. You failed to recognise any of the positive feedback I offered, and instead offered an arrogant and defensive lecture . This seems to be a pattern with all of your reviews which are anything less than 5 stars - it reflects very poorly. This is a public platform to better consumer experience and give honest reviews. You must accept not every single customer will LOVE your food. It comes with owning a business and putting a product out publicly. Your consumers do not need to be bullied into leaving a better review or shying away from honesty. I have given all of this feedback in person also, especially when my order was wrong, as we came straight back and spoke to you. I have also spoken to you in person and over the phone regarding my dietary requirements. You advised me many who do not tolerate gluten well can digest your bread much better. Once again, I said this is case dependant and probably personal so there are NO hard feelings regarding this, I was just advising others to be cautious! I can’t believe I have had to respond like this. I’m appalled by your response and definitely won’t be returning now. * Rocco’s overall is quite tasty - good toppings and well curated. I’ve always been happy with the service - so thank you! My downfalls of the place: - Unfortunately despite their efforts to be better digested etc as per their website I’m always unwell after eating there (I follow a gluten free diet but have tried their pizzas a few times by recommendation). This is possibly a personal issue, but i would recommend diners be cautious if they are strictly gluten free. - We ordered a few times most recently and the wait time was over 70 minutes for delivery, prior to that well over 45 minutes - pizzas were a little lifeless when received. We have also had orders missing from a pick up order in the past.

It was another lazy weekend night I did not want to make dinner. Of course naturally, the logical answer was pizza. I have a lot rave about Rocco’s pizza and how they specialized in sourdough pizza bases, which I would admit it is something unique and different. It was exactly like 92% of what other patrons have said, the pizzas were indeed amazing. The sourdough bread pizza base, elevates the humble pizza to the next level. I can’t fault Rocco’s pizza, I genuinely left satisfied, though it was on the pricier side, I believe you can put a price of quality and the ability to produce complex cuisines. However, there are some concerns I have for the customer experience at Rocco’s. First of all, the method of pizza delivery to the table was convoluted. Rocco’s kitchen staff would prepare the pizzas, then transfer the pizzas onto a pans, leaving it on the kitchen counter where one staff member would shout the customer’s name in order to get their attention to collect their pizzas. There were numerous problems to this method. One – the ambiance noise of the restaurant was quite loud, to the point where customers, including myself were unable to hear the calling out of our names to collect our pizzas. On this particular night, I witnessed that another table did not collect their pizzas as they were unable to hear their name being called out, which resulted in a kitchen staff member yelling out their name over the top of the ambient noise which instantaneously silenced the restaurant. Everybody turned their heads to face the staff member who bellowed at the top of his lungs, like deer in headlights. This disrupted the mood unequivocally. This brings me to the second point, surely there is a more convenient way for alerting customers that the delicious pizzas are ready. For example, using a table number system where Rocco’s staff would bring out the pizza’s to the customer’s table. Or the usage of a table buzzer alert system, to let customer’s know that their pizzas are ready without the need to scream out their name. Thirdly, the system of customer’s returning their pizza trays to the kitchen could be implemented better. I know that Rocco encourages customers to return their trays to the kitchen as a method of staff cost reduction, however it must be noted that this is not the norm. Belittling customers for not returning their trays should not be common practice at Rocco’s. Overall, if these business changes are made, I strongly believe that the customer experience and satisfaction would increase. At this current moment, having a kitchen member roar over the sound of customers enjoying their dinner in the company of friends family, is not an attractive scene nor pleasant experience. Saving costs to maximise profit is important, however taking constructive criticism ensures prosperity in the business. Customer experience is half the taste of the food afterall.

Belissimo. Deliciously perfected pizza. Margherita Mondays are hard to go past for such scrumptious food. Friendly staff. Option to neck a Peroni lager which goes well with the savoury sourdough base and the salt of the cheese. If you haven't tried this pizza place and you are a fan of the pie, and in particular a Roman Style, definitely chuck this place a visit.

Excellent atmosphere and probably in my top 10 across the world so far. It's obvious that the pizzas are all made fresh on site and they let the ingredients do all the talking. My Margherita and Salsiccia were fired perfectly. The La Magnifica Soppressa was a little too moist toward the centre, likely from the mushrooms and might've done better with an extra 30 seconds in the oven. The owner clearly loves his customers and loves his business and full of passion! I've only experienced passion like this a handful of times in Italy and at Doc on Southbank in Melbourne. The pizza here is awesome. It is not overloaded with toppings like some other places, but the simple toppings are fresh and so full of flavour! The dough doesn't make you feel bloated, and even after downing way too many pieces I still don't get that "I never want to see pizza again" feeling. Rocco is proud of the pizzas he produces, and this is evident both when he is in the kitchen, and when he's not - he's trained his staff well! The atmosphere is simple but with great character. My 6 and 8 year old sons would only eat ham and pineapple pizzas before, but since we went to Roccos, they insist that his Pizzas are the only ones they want (even better than grandma's pizzas!). Rocco, you can be proud of the pizza's and love of quality ingredients you bring to the Western Suburbs of Adelaide! The only criticism is the plastic cups for water (not very environmentally friendly) - and seriously, that is the smallest criticism of a great place to eat - problem easily solved with byo water bottle (or wine!)..... but it would be nice to have some cheap water glasses available (I realise it's a cost thing...)

Was sceptical 18 months ago after trying this place...Margarita was not too bad then but when I revisited this place yesterday my god what a pizza was literally perfect and real sourdough too which is rare..I'm as fussy as Italians get when it comes to pizza but RoccoPizza gets a 10/10 from me . I bought three of their basic pizzas for an early Sunday dinner. The order was ready right on time, friendly staff and easy online ordering. Price is good. Bases are very nice, the sourdough is interesting and flavoursome. Garlic and herb is decent, sopressa salumi is generous in topping. Only two points to improve, the margherita was disappointing for lack of fresh basil. And the oven at 5.15 didn't seem fully heated, like the bake time was too long. Overall, I'm keen to try it again at a later time when the oven is broken in and maybe delve into the gourmet pizzas to see what they're made of.

Roccopizza prides itself on their use of quality ingredients, and they certainly deliver on this. Unfortunately I find that the pizzas don’t deliver on flavour as much as other traditional Italian restaurants, like Cicco Palms further down the road. The staff are friendly and obliging; however, there are often errors in my order. I usually get Rocco’s version of the Margherita, but the last three times I’ve ordered it they have forgotten to put basil and oregano on it. I keep thinking I’ve misread the menu but this doesn’t appear to be the case. The price of the pizza is very affordable, with the cheapest option around $11. This is a great price for such quality ingredients. A good pizza restaurant in an area with few other options, but I still feel they have a long way to go to compete with the likes of Cicco Palms, Antica and 360 Gradi. Reply to response from owner: Hi Rocco, Thanks for the reply. I'm just giving my personal thoughts for the benefit of people who may be considering visiting the restaurant. As I mentioned in the review, it is clear that you pride yourself on the quality of your ingredients, the flavour just wasn't for me. Although I may not have read the menu accurately, it is usually assumed that an Italian-style margherita has basil on it. I also mentioned that the price was very affordable and I understand your philosophy. Cheers.

Ordered through Uber eats. Restaurant refused to give the pizza to the Uber driver because "Ubers policy is to deliver two orders at a time". The restaurant was concerned we would receive cold pizza and didn't want to compromise on quality. They were happy to compromise on service apparently. Multiple phone calls to the restaurant, driver and Uber eats. 2.5 hours later and we had to pick it up ourselves. Pizza was sitting on the bench when we got there. They reheated it a little and gave us a free dessert pizza but in the end it was cold and we were tired. We were advised to use Deliveroo instead of Uber eats. Decided to give them a second chance and ordered over the phone. We were then told to order via Deliveroo. so we did. Pizza arrived cold... Update - In response to Rocco: Thanks for taking the time to respond and accepting that there is an issue. I give you credit for your response and therefore I've adjusted my rating to something more neutral and hope that in the near future we can give your restaurant another try. As someone that enjoys a movie at home with beer and pizza on a Saturday night delivery is definitely my preferred option. My only suggestion, given Uber take 35% + delivery fee, is to employ your own drivers and expand the delivery radius (we are 3.7km away which was too far for your driver at the time). Looking forward to replacing this review with something more positive should you come up with a delivery option that benefits everyone.

The sourdough basses really make this place, they won't come out limp oily and soggy. And no, you won't find a mountain of toppings on the pizzas, but what you will find are top quality ingredients sourced locally and from Italy, bringing a true traditional pizza taste.
