What a beautiful family Italian restaurant this is to go to I think I’ve eaten everything off the menu from pizza the pasta steak, & seafood it’s all amazing hence why I go all the time I’ve taken my family and it’s also a really great place to hang out with your girlfriends as well at night I try and get there a little bit earlier because it’s always so busy and then after reading the back of the menu I realised that the family have been in business for over 50 years that’s why they’re always so busy I guess I’ll see you all there it’s my go to Place .

We sat outside on a cool winter night but under the heater is was delightful. Watching the vibe of what Lygon Street has to offer always has me begging for a street view. Dinner was excellent with two medium sized pizzas that were extremely tasty with the right amount of toppings. Plus they arrived within ten minutes from ordering. House red and good conversation made it a successful night. Wheelchair friendly but not the toilets. Kid friendly. Parking ? It’s Lygon Street - good luck but maybe the parking pixies will be kind to you. Enjoy.

Although the food is claimed to be authentic Italian, it is nowhere near it. Staff were prompt and friendly, nice outdoor seating. Pasta we have ordered was way over cooked and the sauce wasn't anything special either. Pizza was OK but again I've had much better Italian food in Aus than this.

One of the best places that serve Italian food. We go there every weekend. The prime reason being the Shepherd Steak. It's really the best they have. The staff are just awesome. Their hospitality makes the place even more special. They have a sitting arrangement outside wherein you can enjoy the cold weather of Melbourne. They have heaters so nothing to worry about. We have tried pretty much everything in the menu and the food is really good. A must visit if you want to try authentic Italian food in Melbourne.

Cane here just after COVID restrictions eased up in Melbourne. All the staff were nice and friendly and obeyed the Social distancing requirements. We ordered two pizzas and both were of the highest quality, I cannot sing enough praises for the food. We were seated inside and everyone around us was equally impressed with the quality of the food and staff. We booked a 2 pm Sunday reservation for 2, parking was quick and when we arrived early we were escorted to our table immediately. Service was attentive, drinks arrived promptly and guidance through the menu was provided with detailed knowledge from the hostess (Lisa). A Fettuccine Marinara entree size was superb and so large a serve that it was too much to finish, and an entree sized Risotto Cardinale was both excellent and could have been mistaken for a Main meal. Coffee finished off the luncheon. The atmosphere was great with many groups having a fun day and children were welcomed. There was no pressure to rush the visit. The menu is extensive and is available on the internet if you like to plan your meals in advance. Not our first visit and we definitely will be returning to further enjoy the hospitality and great meals. Ph 9347 5520 to guarantee a booking.

The place is very nice with lots of tables inside and outside. They also own the dwelling next door but mainly used for functions. Service was very nice and friendly. Dinner was wonderful! I went with two other people and we all loved our food so much. It was on a cold night and we sat outdoors beside the heaters and we were all warm and comfortable. Prices are really reasonable and you can choose the size of your meal. Can't recommend the avocado fettuccine enough, and everybody else's meals smelt and looked amazing. The wait staff were lovely and efficient, and when we paid, the server was super lovely and allowed us to split the bill. Thank you Cafe Cavallino!

Family booked a large gathering of us for a birthday. We all brought cash as there is no split bills. Food was good, but I can't justify the prices for just decent food in small portions. Alcohol range is limited, tasted weak and pricey The Ferrari memorabilia is every where, perfect place for someone who loves Ferrari? We had a great time, convenient place for a big group, there were no complaints about noise even though we did get pretty loud at times, waitresses were lovely and fast. I can easily spend those prices expecting the food be worth the price, but was disappointed when recieving small portions, not much flavour and dialuted alcohol.

If you're a lover of all things Ferrari, you can't miss this place. It is full, wall to ceiling (yes, the ceiling is literally covered) with memorabilia and photos of Ferrari cars, especially Formula 1. The interior is a little spartan, with bare tiled floors and cheap tables and chairs. But you would go there for the food, not the furniture and you won't be disappointed! They have a huge selection of pizzas, which are absolutely delicious. And their pastas are just as good. The wait staff are always very friendly too. With the huge choice of eateries on Lygon Street, we keep coming back to Cafe Cavallino.

Cafe Cavallino, is my one stop for fine Italian food. The best on Lygon Street. I have been there on numerous occasions and left happy every time. Food is fresh and perfect, i have been there so many times that i have tried a couple of there food. Ive had the pizza, the chicken parmigiana, the lasagne and pasta. Every meal was awesome. The service is terrific as well, and one particular waitress would memorise your order and be cracking jokes just making the whole experience a whole lot better all the time and every time.

To really taste pasta, you need to eat at a proper italian restaurant. Heaven knows that Cafe Cavalino gets that right. Based off Lygon street you could get lost in the myraid of italian eateries. However, there is only one that really stands out. The building itself is old and the restaurant is one of the oldest Italian food services in the area. Food I really liked that they had their pasta and toppings separately. Because of this, I could try Gnocchi Carbonara. A combination previously unavailable to my palette. This dish was perfection from start to finish. The sauce was light and creamy and the bacon was tender and cut in good sizes that made you open your mouth just that little bit wider to enjoy. Plus it almost tasted like they had freshly cured it. And the gnocchi. Oh my lawd. (Imagine me waving my arms around like an Italian) – gawd damn it was fresh and unbelivably amazing. The only draw back was that it wasn’t served too hot so the meal would still be warm as we kept eating it. It’s such a minor thing that no points will be lost because of it. TDT: 2.0/2.0 Cost Look. Pizza usually comes out on time despite the exodus numbers. The food quality is good however I do find the price a bit expensive as i come from kilmore and travel a long way. I will come back though as overall I had a above average dining experience.
