Overall, everything was very good! We preferred the “Johnny’s squirrel” over the “The boss” as we found it more saucy and tasty, but both were very good. The dough was not too bad. The truffle flavour in the Mac & Cheese wasn’t too overpowering (which we like!). However, if you’re expecting a creamy Mac & cheese, it isn’t that. We didn’t mind it but it was rather on the drier side rather than creamy. Finally, the New York cheesecake was great and a good way to end this meal :) Ps: pizzas aren’t very big for $24-$25, but we ordered through EatClub and got 40% off everything!! So it was really worth it!

Delicious brick oven pizzas! We tried ‘Sammy the Butcher’ and ‘Johnny Squirrel’. Both had generous toppings, great pizza base. Will come back for more!

These pizzas are really big and delicious! I was full after 3 slices. I got the truffle butter which was yum! lots of toppings. The Irishman was also good, but probably should of mixed it up with a tomato base pizza instead. I love the thin crust. I’ll definitely come back again :) thanks!

We got takeaway, enjoyed it overall. The mozzarella pizza was good value, very garlicky, I loved it but my kid didn't... More for me! The diavola had lots of toppings but was too dry for my liking and not cheesy enough.

Couldn't take a photo as the pizza's were irresistible. Haven't had a pizza like this since living in Italy. Perfect traditionally cooked pizza, amazing flavours! The best pizza I have had for a long time.

Good pizza and good service in Newtown. Pizzas are slightly small for the price and the ingredients are good but not fantastic. Loud Italian hip hop plays. Good for young groups fortifying their stomachs while drinking, not great for couples wanting to have a nice dinner and chat. Query the range and variety of King Street eateries available, they have plenty of competition.

Great thin pizza extremely generous topping, garlic bread was the most amazing I’ve ever tasted, Francisco Took the time to find out what we wanted even though it wasnt on menu, but definitely accommodated to our desire.. excellent service, great price - will definitely be coming back again 😀

Was extremely excited to try this place yesterday with my friend. We ordered two pizzas - the Burrata Queen and the Diavola. The Diavola was delicious as expected. Unfortunately, the store must have messed up the order because we received a Margherita instead of the Burrata Queen pizza that we ordered and didn't notice until we were all the way home. The Margherita was good, a little on the salty side, but just not what we ordered yesterday. I would go back to Johnny Gio's again, but would love to rectify this issue from yesterday as I really was excited to try to Burrata Queen pizza, or receive a refund for the difference because the two pizzas vary quite substantially in cost.

I wouldn’t call myself a pizza fiend but I’ve eaten a lot of different pizza in my life. To say this place is good is an understatement. The sauce, the dough, the experience will leave you wanting more. I couldn’t fault them on anything. Even at a busy time when my order was a little late (I didn’t mind waiting) they threw in a free cheesecake (which was delicious by the way). That’s excellent customer service. You need to try this place.

Don't often write a review but had an amazing meal delivered last night! Pizzas and pasta were really delicious! Queen burrata was a real highlight. Quality toppings, great dough and perfectly cooked. No more disappointing pizzas for me from now on. Will order again for sure.

This place is okay but I definitely wouldn't say it's a 4.9 star rating. I ordered a Sammy the butcher pizza as well as the meatball penne and a caprese salad. The salad was not as expected, tomatoes sliced lengthwise and the presentation wasn't great. I have to say that I loved the crust dough of the pizza and I would definitely come back for that, but I found the toppings on the pizza extremely salty and this made it difficult to properly enjoy. Note we were served our salad and pasta in a cardboard bowl which I accept as an environmental option but for dine-in and both being wet dishes made the experience less pleasant. It was also incredibly difficult to hear my partner speak across the table as the music was very loud. I may be back but will only stick to the pizza from now on.

The setting is OK, but I got a Calzone with sausage and gorgonzola (I think?) and hoo boy was it absolutely dripping with grease. I had a greasy soup sitting at the bottom of my plate by the time I'd finished.

We have been reluctant to order pizza delivery as getting cold pizza is just downright depressing…but….I think I’ve found our go to pizza place! Ordered via Deliveroo & delivery was fast even for a Sat night! Food came hot & fresh & tasted amazing 🤤Pizza base is thin & has a fantastically crispy yet fluffy crust. Toppings were a great amount & the chilli oil really packed a punch (came with the Diavola)! Ordered the Diavola & the Vego lover. I think these guys are a new kid on the block as we walked past this place just a few weeks back. Can’t wait to order from here again!

Great pizza and other dishes, but what really stands out for me is the exceptional staff. They are always happy and have the biggest genuine smiles when dealing with customers. Sometimes it's the little subtle things like this that keeps customers coming back.

Such amazing pizzas with the friendliest staff & service! Highly recommend. Wide range of pizzas, pastas, sides, salads and lets not forget desserts! Also, the BEST gluten free base pizza I have ever had. If you haven't tried yet, please do. An amazing little gem in the heart of Newtown :)

First time customer. Ordered the Burrata Queen & the Zaza & garlic bread. Absolutely delicious. Best pizza I've had in a long time and will definitely order again! I also ordered the tiramisu. The taste was good (but too weak) and I wasn't a fan of its density (too light) or the cocoa powder (no kick?).

My go-to pizza place. Sometimes they're stingy with the cheese but overall it is delicious. Highly recommend this place. I'd stay away from their desserts it's pretty average.

On the way home via Newtown, I saw the bright lights and a line up outside Johnny Gio's new shop. I pulled over to grab 2 pizzas and see what the fuss is about and took them home to enjoy with my partner. I have to say, both where delightful (even after 20 minutes in the car).
