This place has a lot of potential!!! Being a pizza addict what's most important to me is the quality of the base and sauce! After all the best pizza is in Italy needs nothing more that that! There was a lot of expectation with this pizza because of the reputation. I enjoyed the taste, texture and firmness of the crust. Unfortunately there was minimal sauce on the pizza & so didn't pack a lot of flavour. The cheese used here is a of high quality which assisted enjoyment and helped make up for the dryness.

The pizza here is well and truly phenomenal at this cute little family run joint! The garlic prawns were delicious and the burrata was absolutely to die for ☺️ The stone fire oven is a real treat and it was great watching the pizzas being made before digging in. Get here early to avoid long waits. There is seating for about 12 inside around a shared table and 4 smaller tables outside. We got there for dinner just before 6pm and got a spot straight away. Started getting busy at 615pm. The food was excellent. We had mushroom chips which were my favorite dish. Stuffed zucchini flowers and a pizza. It was plenty for 2. Pricing is reasonable at 20-24 for a pizza. Highly recommend this place.

Best Sicilian pizza in Sydney! La Coppola you have my heart! We sadly live way too far away for takeaway but we always travel here for date night. Brought some friends a couple of weeks ago for a group dinner and they’re still talking about how tasty it was. Excellent pizza, excellent service and BYO as well. Sells good pizza, has excellent staff, and a cute little fitout. A little expensive? Sure. But is it worth it? Definitely for an easy pizza date night. I'd probably order take away if I was drinking or catching up with old mates; not quite the right atmosphere for that pricetag otherwise! Their special with fresh mozz was a highlight for me. Jump in on that ASAP. Bonus points for the gorgeous pup that guards the till!

"Take the rest home, pizza stone" is my rating of the sturdy, crispy and fluffy Sicilian slices being served out of this (New) Redfern staple. Now, I know pizza, I don't know a great deal outside of Dominoes, Napolitano, Manoosh and whatever trash Bondi Pizza slings. What I do know: Sicily is the homeland of an all time top 3 bread, Foccacia. The base has many qualities of it's mother dough, giving this pizza a sandwich quality of pristine calibre. The toppings won't slip and slide like a Napoli slice or if pan pie from Pizza Hut is left to steam in it's box — they are kept simple but high quality. There's a magic to this wildfire oven and the moustached man moderating the pies through that wood smoke, infusing that taste and nailing that texture (we had a porchetta pie too and now I want to smoke cook all my charcuterie) La Coppola is more Francis Ford, less Nic Cage 😘👌

Amazing pizza. A slight thicker base gives a bit more texture to each bite. However, you don't be bloated and over done cause of the dough, which has be cooked perfectly to have a lovely all round crust and chewy centre. Toppings and light and simple as to not end up with a mess left in the plate. Street dining under the clock tower creates great atmosphere. Not to forget the delightful staff. And there is a beer house over the road which I worked out they will deliver to.

I have only just come from here, and feel compelled to review as it was so freakin' amazing. Friendly service, a cosy space where the focus is on the wood fired oven, and great food. My gosh, ok so the owner suggested he had proudly perfected the best gluten free pizza base ever. People often make absurd claims. So I wasn't phased. We ordered some pizza's and to my amazement ours was soooo insanely good! There was and usually is a line up to this AMAZING gem of a place. I can officially say this is by far the best gluten free pizza I've ever had in my life. And... I've had a lot around the world & locally in Sydney!!! I have no idea how they do it, you wouldn't know it was gf, so much so...I was even worried that they made an error. They didn't, it really IS that good! I would drive to this place & know people that drive over an hour to eat gf meals here. Yes, it really is that good! The staff are lovely. They're a few minutes walk from Redfern train station. You will not regret visiting (I should add friends had normal pizza's etc here and they were equally as amazing!) The owners know what they're doing! A labour of love, this place is worth traveling to, no matter where in Sydney you are!!! (Call ahead though, as COVID seating or hours might change).

Amazing pizza from a proper woodfire oven. The family who own it are lovely, and the service is always friendly. My favourites are the Mt Etna and Scopello. Take-away and delivery only at the moment due to Covid-19. You can arrange both over the phone with them.

I can see the appeal. I like my pizzas Neapolitan style so this didn't hit the spot. The place is very popular, though I do think it's over priced. I personally like a nice floppy base which this didn't have. If you like a thicker base, my review isn't for you. The atmosphere is nice. The corkage charge is $4 which isn't mentioned on their website. As mentioned it's a popular place but small which means I ate with people waiting at the door to get in. They were good to put ever tables out. Overall, my dining experience was good I just didn't feel the pizza was the best I had - but it's not terrible

Our housemates took us here for dinner last night and we had the most delicious pizza! Such a warm, friendly atmosphere and the gluten free base is so good you cannot even tell the difference! Is this the best pizza shop in Sydney? I was greeted by a cheerful and helpful waitress and felt at ease from the moment I walked through the door. It was a tiny shop, but the chef kindly made me a spot at the shared table inside. The waitress provided water without me asking, and gave me a helpful suggestion and the pizza arrived very promptly. It was superb - light, perfectly cooked, crispy crust, flavoursome quality toppings, and the perfect amount of herbs and cheeses. Simply delicious!

For ages I had been craving pizza that would remind me of the slices I had tried in NYC earlier this year. What La Coppola offers is a much more refined alternative. The flavours are well balanced, and the ingredients taste very fresh. The service was a big plus too. Mt Etna was delicious but one of my favourite kinds of pizzas, the potato rosemary pizza was not. unlikely to come back here again as there are other pizza places in the area. We sat at a table out on the street and the atmosphere was not great given cars were driving by. This place does not have its own bathroom

Every time I come La Coppola, rain, hail or shine, I am always treated with the best customer service. The pizza here is absolutely amazing, with a menu I cannot fault. I would highly recommend this to family, friends and even strangers - once you've eaten at La Coppola, you'll never be able to eat elsewhere again, because nothing compares.

Absolutely fantastic service! Last night was the first time my partner and I tried this place out. We were looking for a pizza shop open late and we found a great one! We were greeted and served in the friendliest way. It's lovely to see shop keepers/staff that go that extra mile and ones that are genuinely happy to serve you. Moving onto the pizza.. we got the Quattro Formaggi and it was devine! Nothing beats a really cheesy pizza when you're hungry late! The base was thin and crisp and it was loaded with the right amount of all four cheeses. Standard wood fired pizza price and totally worth it! A big thank you to all you who work there!

La Coppola is a MUST if you are serious about pizza! We decided to head to La Coppola when visiting a friend in Redfern and was not disappointed. We ordered a pizza off the specials menu (so flavorful), some zucchini flowers (perfect cheese goo-i-ness) and then came MT Etna.. Now if you like hot salami based pizzas you would LOVE this! .. We all agreed that MT Etna was perfect, right amount of toppings, spice, savoriness and cheese! Now anyone that is passionate about pizza knows that apart from toppings you need a great base and the bases here will not disappoint. Also I would like to mention apart from good food, the owner Stephano (the man with the token mustache) had to be the most happiest pizza maker I have ever met. It was really nice at the end of the night, we were the last in the restaurant and he came out to chat with us (for a good length of time).. We didn't at all feel awkward about being the last in the joint, and we had a great chat! .. Stephano makes a mean pizza and does it with a smile!.. definitely worth checking this place out.

Pizza perfection. I’ve eaten a lot of pizza over time including for 2 years in the world’s capital of NYC. The pizza at La Coppola is world class. Yes you can do Dominos, yes Crust can be good but if you’re after greatness Stefano and the La Coppola crew won’t disappoint. Life’s too short - eat great pizza.

The special pizza (Zafferia) was amazing, with the cheese being fresh and creamy. Fig Salad was honestly just so refreshing and a really great way to start the meal. Can’t go past a classic bruchsetta pizza which is just consistent week on week. Also the waitress let us taste their mocha tiramisu which was epic. Great atmosphere and love the family feel. Drive from outside the area just to come to La Coppola.

Honestly one of the best experiences I have had eating out for dinner. We ordered two pizzas however one wasn't to our liking. The owner came over to say hello and discoved from the conversation that we weren't enjoying the second pizza. He insisted he make us a new pizza and asked what ingredients we liked. He returned shortly after with a new pizza which was absolutely amazing. They use proper Fior di Late (cheese) non of this from the bag stuff.... We will 100% go back. Well made neapolitan pizza. Excellent bones (the puffy part of the crust) and good degree of leopard spotting without charring. Long, long waits. Not much seating. Kind of expensive. I got so hungry waiting I ended up buying a kebab and eating it while sitting on the street next to another customer who was eating a Dominos pizza she had bought while waiting for La Coppola. It's THAT slow.

La Cuppola Pizza, what an amazing and authentic Italian wood fired pizza restaurant. They are so fast and the pizzas taste so good! The staff are awesome, so friendly and the service is incredible.
