Crunchiest onion rings. Love them. The entree garlic bread was also tasty and very crunchy. 600g Schnitzel was less crunchy but still tasty. Paired with a yummy mushroom sauce. Fries were really addictive and crunchy too. They fry things up well here. Decent portion as well. Definitely can share between 2. Buffalo wings were also crunchy and the aioli sauce was the bomb
W. M.
Snitty was really good super juicy!!! Had the mexican topping and the Earl size which is 600 grams. It was very filling and delicious. Would love to come back and have it again. I didn't touch my salad and left over half the chips as I was very full. But want to eat the good part the snitty. The building is very cool. Tucked away on a side street. But got busy as the evening went on. Small and intimate setting. Would recommend giving it a try.
E. P.
Great food, excellent service. Can't go wrong.

Finally getting around to leaving a review for this amazing establishment !
Short of the long is I believe this is where Adelaide’s best schnitzel is found along with some of the best constantly changing tap beers. A solid 10/10 and reasonably priced for lunch or dinner
Well Done everyone at the Earl, don’t change a thing 🙌
k. p.
I had a really lovely lunch here today. I had the best salad I've had in a long time. It was called bang bang chicken salad with Thai dressing. Very spicey so if you don't like spice don't get. My pic doesn't do it justice half eaten lol. The onion rings with jalpeno aoli was not hot at all but steel lovely
R. M.
Best Pub Menu Ever. It has some of the classics but so much more. Lots of parking and a seniors menu with a small price but normal sized meals. Also has a great range of Beers
M. V.
Upscale pub vibes. The food is amazing. Got a burger and pizza and both were delicious. Also don’t miss out on the dessert. The sticky date pudding is to die for. Great prices here for what you get. Big portions and great flavour combinations.
E. J.
Beautifully british , amazing beef roast with yorkshire pudding. Felt like home ❤
M. S.
Would rate this a 2 1/2 as the restaurant was lovely but staff for the bar especially not very kind. When we went there was a few things not on the menu that we hadn't been told about had to change our order twice. Food wise was average my schnitzel was over cooked and very chewy.
M. L.
Lovely and friendly staff, great venue with nice variation in spaces and atmospheres, from bar to dinner hall. The Parma was recommended on Reddit so I made a special trip to check it out, it was huge (and the side salad was delish) but nothing really that special - I suggest getting a pepper sauce on the side to jazz it up a bit.

I've been to the Earl of Leicester a number of times with friends for dinner. Wide selection of classic English pub grub, and even though it can be busy during dinner on weekends, it's pretty spacious for catching up. My favourite dishes were the mushroom vegetarian pizza and the Shepherd's pie. I think they have a coffee/chocolate vending machine, and I will admit, I have a soft spot in my heart for the croutons from their salad bar. Good place for a real big feed, especially if you order the schnitzel, for which you'll probably need a takeaway box!
C. T.
Exemplary food via Uber at the moment. Burgers, fish, chips, salad all arrives fast and fresh if you live locally. Highly recommend.
C. I.
Food portions are generous. Salad bar is well stocked and we filled up way too quickly before our entree and mains. You are in for some heavy duty pub food...a bit on the salty side but none the less decent value. Staff were friendly and we had booked a table for a Sat night. The place is lively compared to alot of establishments in the area.
A. H.
Good range of food and drink.
Communication between front of house and kitchen was dodgy, order received, clarified with chef. Later advised, sorry can't provide what you asked...
S. K.
Fantastic atmosphere with lovely staff! Fantastic prices for fantastic food! The parmys are getting smaller but still taste amazing. Also may need to add another cider to the menu. Thank you for a very enjoyable night
A. B.
While the food was a little slow coming out, it was all very delicious. We had a great lunch for 8 on a Saturday afternoon. Highly reccommend.
H. W.
I discovered this place from an article on Weekend Notes about the best schnitzels in Adelaide and their schnitzels topped the list. They also have amazing lime cheesecake!
a. t.
Appears to now be comfortable with who it is in the adelaide pub scene. Which I good doesn't try to be resturant with silly menu or prices just a good pub with a happy team working it
C. H.
If you looked at this place you would swear you just stepped into an English pub. Make sure you stay for the Sunday roast. But, be quick!!!! Because the pork belly roast (the best, OMG!) with Yorkshire puddings and this little treat of a pig in blanket and the beautiful fresh veg and three condiments (mustard, horseradish and whipped applesauce is fabulous 👌)
Every Sunday without fail we frequented this establishment and they delivered everytime. They are very consistent in good food. Thanks for making the Earl our home on Sundays. What a treat!
D. H.
A few of us had the pork cutlet on Sunday night and it was fantastic: cooked perfectly, succulent and juicy served with really tasty sides - we all highly recommend it!
B.
Haven’t eaten here yet, but it’s dimly lit, dark wood, & good range beers on tap - exactly what you want in a good, local front bar.
A. W.
I always come here with family because it has a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. The food and service is good too.
R. “.
Really nice atmosphere and food and staff were great. Nice place for a long lunch.
A. G.
Thank you to the staff for a very nice lunch yesterday (Sat) Juliet, Tony and Ann were very impressed. We realise these are difficult times (Covid) but all worked out well and the staff were all very polite. Thank you Ann
D. B.
Staff, atmosphere, food and wine all warranted a five star rating. Loved this place.
S. C.
great service and beaut meals with drinks in two eating areas near the two long bar areas. Enough off street parking for 14 or so cars and others can park on leicester Street just off of Duthy St.
m. g.
A short walk from the south side of the city, this is a hidden gem that serves amazing food. My favourite eatery in Adelaide.
J. T.
Food was great, service good, but the room was too cold had to ask several times to ask them to turn the a/c down as it was making the food the cold.
A. S. (. f.
This place used to be an institution. Since the handover and renovation work it has gone downhill in terms of quality of food, craft beers and price (more exxy). The renovation appears half finished, as there's parts of the old setup still hanging around while the new parts seem to clash and make things feel very disjointed. It's also empty. It used to be a very busy place on weekends and now it always seems empty. Such a shame.
V. V.
We had our end of year Christmas celebration. Everyone loved the food, the private room and bar was excellent for our 40 guests.
S. B.
The food and drinks are good, although there was literally blood all over the floors in the toilet and you won't be expecting to get your name on the wall for drinking all the beers...so that's a bummer.
J. T.
Great local pub in Parkside.
Mega Beef parma and Chorizo Chicken parma.
Well stocked Fresh Salad bar.
Good selection of local wines and beers on tap.
Walking distance from home.
Fantastic
S. S.
Schnitzel was tasteless.salad was the best. Chips over cooked. Drinks were pricey
S. H.
Typical of a grand old pub. Great look, old time atmosphere, nice service, good feed. It is however at a high price for a pub meal, but it is like that everywhere now.
P.
Went there to try the English foods. Scotch Egg was good, sausage and mash for mains also good. The sausages reminded me of the pappy Walls ones from UK supermarkets. Also had Fullers beer on tap. Will most likely visit again
M. G.
Amazing food. 3 of us chose different entrees and mains and everything was delicious. Recommend trying the sausage roll entree
D. G.
Reasonably priced. Schnitzels are above average with a large selection of toppings. Atmosphere is brilliant. On my last visit I ordered chicken but got beef schnitzel. Initially I was disappointed, but was actually happy since it was one of the better ones I've had.
d. p.
The only place I have found in Australia that knows how to do a quality scotch egg. Also has a proper old school pub vibe. Unmissable in my opinion.
A. “. G.
I went and liked it, but I was with friends, so it is hard to say how it would be if you were with people you don't really like cheers
S. L.
Great suburban pub with a real 'English Pub' vibe. Excellent beer choices and the food has been excellent everytime we've been.
A great spot for lunch or after work drinks. Happily return anytime we are in the area.
O. D. Q.
Great food and service! Steak was cooked to perfection.
A. A.
Nice pub in a lovely part of Adelaide. Staff are delughtful. My only criticism is the lack of vegan options. Please put more choices on the menu. Vegan choices are now mainstream at most eateries so please expand the menu.
D. S.
Great pub, great selection of beers, fantastic food at a fair price, wonderful atmosphere and good service. The only downside was the music was too loud in the front bar for a table of 5 to be able to talk. You could only talk to the person directly next to you.
L. Z.
This is my new favourite place. The food was spectacular, even the side salad. The beer on tap is awesome too! Above and beyond a normal pub!
d.
Such a great pub with excellent meals with an interesting variety. When you're in the front bar, check Rev David Smith on the beer drinking legends honour roll.
D. T.
Great little pub, food was excellent.
G. W.
Amazing service every time, especially on quiz nights. We visit every week and the service is 10/10 every time. The staff, especially the two young moustached men, are incredible time after time and no request is too much for them. Their smiles keep me coming back every week. Keep doing you guys xo
A. C.
Beers galore. Some special craft beers on tap and in the fridge. Nice rustic feel to the place.
Join the 100 Beer Legends club if you keep coming back. Become famous for having spent over a grand at the place, name in lights!
S.
Their Sunday roast specials are some of the best I've tried - especially the roast pork. Great portion size and plenty of delicious gravy. Fast service and friendly staff make it even better.
V. K. (.
Awesome pizza, legit can't fault it. Base, toppings all really good. Would buy again
C. A.
The food and ambience were outstanding. Service culture was a little off, hence only 4 stars (feeling like an annoyance and struggling to get a smile from the staff) but would go back to eat and enjoy the place itself.
J. M.
Haven't been here in years (used to be regulars) and thought we would try it with the kids for the first time.
Nice atmosphere but quite noisy (and wasn't even full). Were shown to our table which we made a booking for and immediately noticed that not everyone had been allocated cutlery. Figured someone would notice and bring some but no one did until I had to ask for some after the meals were delivered.
Food was nice though I would consider servings small for the price (note that this is compared to other pub/hotels in the area). Kids meal deal is good value if the kids want a drink and dessert. The activity pack wasn't worth the $2 price tag but as it came with the meal deal and I did not pay extra for it, it was adequate.
The first thing I noticed was the lack of sour cream on my schnitzel...about a heaped teaspoon worth, which for a 350g schnitzel. Considering it was an additional $6.50 for the topping of bacon, sweet chilli, cheese and sour cream, I feel that they could afford to be a bit more generous with the sour cream....
Secondly, the first chip I picked up was uncooked...still firm and partly frozen which I only realised as I took my first bite. The rest were cooked nicely with a crispy batter so I'm thinking it was a mistake and one of the chips had simply not made it into the fryer.
Thirdly I thought it strange that to get any beverage, you have to get served at the front bar. So you can't even order drinks when you order your meal and have to walk to the front bar to get served.
Fourthly, between not giving us enough cutlery for the table and forgetting to give us the kids activity books and having to go to the bar to order drinks, it made the meal challenging. I was there with 3 children without my partner and having to constantly get up and walk to the order counter because of little things that should have not been an issue made the meal more stressful and challenging even though the issues were small.
However the food is tasty and well cooked and presented and the staff are friendly even if they aren't as attentive as they should be. The atmosphere is pleasant and if we were in the area, we would come back and hope for a better experience. At least the kids enjoyed it and that's saying something...
P.s. the chocolate brownie is pretty good - probably earned the 3rd star all on its own...
D. M. (.
Generous meal sizes and friendly staff. Had my parents Anniversary there and they helped us out with serving the cake and adding sparklers. Schnitzels were delicious.
J. F.
Quality of the cooking and the service is good. Reasonable selection of beers and the front bar is cozy and a nice place for a drink.
Unfortunately three stars on this occasion because the medium rare Wagyu rump with pepper sauce that I ordered, came as a medium scotch fillet with mushroom sauce due to some mix up in the kitchen.
D. S. P.
Had a family dinner tonight. Haven’t been before and was very pleasantly surprised. Food was very good. Most surprisingly the staff were engaged and friendly. They knew what they were doing and seemed happy doing it. No hesitation to recommend Great spot
G. H.
Great to revisit a favourite haunt.
Greatly improved and modern, clean, sleek and inviting.
Glad we rediscovered it.
Food,drinks,service etc all excellent.
Well done by the owners and staff.
Planning to go back to try the winter menu.
4/5 or more.
If you are older like me,you will be very welcome.
Give it a good go.
Cheers graeme.
N. M.
Excellent massive schnitzel. Good beer tap selection with excellent bottle selection. Huge venue with variety of areas - front bar is quieter and cozier during the busy lunch periods. Very friendly staff who offered free round when our lunch was late coming out. Recommended!
M. “. 6. H.
very noisy and not a fan of queuing to order my drinks with the people placing food orders. Needs table service. Saved by the great tasting food. Which arrived stone cold!
T. P.
Very first time coming here. Meal was pretty good. I found their prices were a little bit more than I expected but maybe it's because of the area? Staff was quite good. Would definitely come back if in the area.
D. B.
Great pub, good food and fantastic beer
M. C.
Had a great lamb roast with my partner today. Excellent service and friendly staff. Will definitely be coming back again!
N. C.
Yeah it was great. Fabulous steak, drinks were delightful but the manager had a bit of a stick up his bum it seemed. Everyone else was delightful.
C. M.
Beef snitzel was good and overall a nice experience
D. T.
Good sized and crispy chicken schnitty. Was a little under seasoned though. Would come again.
S.
Have lunch here occasionally with a large group. Foods is good, service is excellent, and the venue is great.
D. B.
Hand pump beer a major reason to pop in for something different on tap as there's not many around these days. Great atmosphere on quiz night.
P. K.
Good schnitty but they fry their chips in the same oil as the fish so......3 stars. I'll give an extra star for the coconut sorbet that accompanied the lemon cheesecake.
D. R.
I really enjoy eating at the Earl of Leicester Hotel, as it has a real family atmosphere. My favorite dish is beef snitzel, which the Earl of Leicester has received an award as being the best, I certainly agree with that. They do have senior meals, which are a little cheaper, but still very tasty and delicious in flavor. They have a good selection on the menu, of everything that you would like. I do recommend the Earl of Leicester for either lunch or tea, but I do recommend you make a booking. On Sundays only, they have for lunch, a roast, which I would definitely book.I am looking forward to having a roast there very soon. Also the Earl of Leicester is in the side street of Leicester St. this being a quiet area with not of a lot of noise. Also there is good parking on the hotel gtounds, and if need be on the side street. David
C. A.
Fantastic Friendly Staff. Great pub meal try the flathead battered. What a nice local Pub.
K. G.
Craving the Earl Schnitzle .. takeaway did not disappoint! Patrick was awesome taking orders over the phone! Chefs food has not changed in the slightest... especially the peppercorn sauce! Great job guys!!!
T. W.
What a great and authentic looking pub! The staff are great and they have such a huge beer selection! I think there is about 85 different types. I had a burger which was delicious but my mate had the schnitzel which was enormous and looked amazing. I will definitely be trying that one next time I am here!
A. T.
Had an excellent meal at the earl for a friend's birthday celebration. Decided to choose from the contempory offerings and was blown away by the flavour, style and presentation. ordered sides which were really simple but executed with precision. Overall very happy will definitely return.
G. D.
Good meals, reasonable prices, friendly staff, easy parking and nice atmosphere.
S. C.
It's in the back streets and I simply didn't know that it existed and I understand that it was recently renovated and it is lovely comfortable and spacious you can have a normal conversation it's not loud its comfortable and on the day I was there at least the staff seemed happy (is proud too strong) to be working there. It's not cheap but it's good value all things considered and although it's mostly middle aged people there are high chairs available. It's in a lovely neighborhood and it's obviously something that the residents take great pride and enjoyment in as on the day I was there no one had made a booking yet plenty of people turned up for lunch making me think that I were mostly local people. Nice people from a nice neighborhood enjoying their lovely local nice pub I really like this place
C. W.
The carvery was simply the best we've eaten. I had the pork belly -yes it was on the carvery menu- amazing taste and very tender. Served with broccolini, potato, peas, carrot, Yorkshire Pudding and a trio of sauces, nice kick to the horseradish and the Apple sauce was divine readiness.
C. F.
we live in crazy times in 2020, but the Leicester is still great, inc take away.
Schnitzel with pepper sauce is the best even after a 5 min drive home. Well organised pick up system too. Looking forward to getting back to normal and enjoying a cold tap beer inside asap.
S. G.
Great pub food & good hospitality. Plenty of tasty beers to work your way through. The Earl keeps us coming back...
K. C.
Nice environment. Good foods and service.
M. H.
Amazing food but was nearing an hour for meals to arrive on a saturday night.
R. A.
Good food. Fast friendly service. Massive servings. Plenty of parking.
Need to restore a it of character the old pub had at least in the front bar. The well travelled soft toy mole. The bar menu with character. ie. the Lewinsky Schnitzel.
A. C.
The salad bar was more for decoration than bulking up your main course, but then again the 500g schnitzel is hanging off the plate so you won't have room for salad anyway. The food was good. Cooked well and not just slap on the BBQ style. The chef is a chef and not a home cook, you can tell from the presentation. Lamb was delicious at medium rare and the fish was just right.
D. W.
Nice pub meals & cold beers.
M. M. L.
Great front bar, full of ye olde charm character. Always good for a drink here; Buffalo Wings Tuesdays at 50 cents a wing is temptation!
S. R.
Staff were delightful. Food okay.
Overcooked for me unfortunately but not bad over all.
A. E.
Myself and 3 friends ordered take away from The Earl today. OMG it was the best take away I've ever had. They've found a way to make food still taste amazing even though you're not eating in. We'll definitely be back.
H. P.
We came for dinner and had our 5 meals out within 30 minutes. The staff are friendly and professional. The prices were average but the food was great. Huge variety of drinks including beers. Will definitely be back.
s. s.
Was very busy for a wed night but kitchen got a meals quickly and they were hot and very tasty.service great and staff smiley and friendly.
G. R.
Great selection of beers. Busy. Good atmosphere. Wish they didn’t support gaming.
M. W.
Great bar / atmosphere, delicious food and friendly service. Had the Mexican chicken schnitzel and it was superb!
J. “. M.
Nice atmosphere. Great pizza. Friendly staff.
R. P.
Great food great service and good value
N. D.
Great atmosphere and good food. This is a lovely old style pub, still with its exposed floor joints. Still has mod cons such as beer garden, good range of beers and really good service. Well worth a visit and parking was no problem.
W. L.
Lovely food which was delivered fast even though it was busy. Highly recommend the mushroom soup. The only downfall was the parking.
M. L.
Beautiful food, comfortable dining room and the waiting staff were efficient and friendly, top marks for a great lunch.
M. S.
Huge schnitzel with a peppery golden crumb and an excellent array of beers on tap from all around Australia and afar as London.
r. z.
Food was awesome, slightly on the expensive side. Salad bar was barely there, but who needs salad when the schnitzel and chips are overflowing the plate? The carpet was lifting and the paintwork needs an update, but overall not bad.
C. R.
Fantastic. Service, food and drinks were without fault. A hidden gem just outside the CBD. Perfect for a groups or just couples. Highly recommended.
T. W.
I had the Sheppard's pie and a side of wedges. The wedges were easily enough for two people. The Sheppard's pie was lovely. I am used to a French Canadian style. It was different but equally as good.
The place has a friendly atmosphere and is family friendly. Would recommend.
C. H.
Great selection of beers on tap, excellent schnitzel, open fire... Lovely!
B. B.
This place has changed. They still have the Big Schnitzels but they weren't cooked very well. This crumbs were soft and there was a lot of oil oozing out of the Schnitzel. I loved going there for the Schnitzels and the Coleslaw was to die for but they have changed the salad bar also.
Was very disappointed with the whole dining experience. This place was on our list for the Best Schnitty in Adelaide and Best Coleslaw and Salad Bar but has now been removed from our list.
H. P.
Ordered a chicken schnitzel as it was apparently adelaides best. Cooked well. Thick and tasty but both the normal gravy and mushroom gravy need some tlc also the salad bar needs some better salads
C. W.
Great food. Booked in for a group of 12. Very happy.
Starters were excellent. We shared them tapas style. Mains were superb. Everyone’s food at the table was well above “pub” quality, it was high-end restaurant style.
Atmosphere at the Bar afterwards was excellent.
P. M.
I cannot recommend this pub as a place to start a big night out. Your whole night is wrecked and the rest of an evening cannot be enjoyed after stuffing in the delicious succulent and tasty schnitzels! Even the thought of trying to sip a schooner has one grasping the stomach and desperately praying for a the next relieving burp! Go here if you think you are starving....as you wont be after leaving! :-)
S. B.
Just had a takeaway due to self confinement.
Absolutely enjoyed every mouthful.
Please support the Earl.
They are more than happy to assist with takeaways and the meal tasted just as good as sitting in the dining room.
D. S.
Very nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Didn't eat but it smelt good and looked nice. If your looking for a rowdy drinking session then this is not for you. Very family orientated. Im going to become a member.
M. m.
Best food quality and the way they serve is extra sumptuous
N. D.
I love the Earl; Lachy the bartender makes really good drinks!
K. P.
Nice food but salad bar need more choice
A. R.
I was here recently hosted by my realtive who lives nearby, he suggested it would be to my liking. The building is amazing with thick Bluestone walls and a gorgeous wood detail. The large rear dining area overflows through floor to ceiling glass to a rear alfresco area that would be great for a Sunday session or such. One thing I did note my relative has food allergies and communicated that very clearly to the staff taking orders however when the meal arrived at the table there had been a miscommunication. This small setup didn't deter me from giving it a good review and recommending it to others.
I. F.
What's happened? This used to be a great pub with an unrivaled selection of craft beer.
Looks to have its taps taken over by the big brewerys. Shame
Solid Schnitzel's but difficult to see past poor beer selection. Now with no point of difference from most other pubs.
D. O.
Best Sunday roast I’ve ever had in Adelaide , Yorkshire Pudding too. The pork was fantastic just had to ask for more gravy
Irish chef I think
Good selection of beers though the drinks are a bit pricey
T. G.
Food very pricey, $92 for two adults and two kids with one drink each. Schnitzels were pretty good, chips were excellent, but I won't spend $12 a pop on small kids meals again. Just go for a beer, don't bother with the food
M. O.
The Earl of Leicester is a great old style pub and restaurant. It has a great bottled beer menu and try the "Beer Legends challenge" if you're after something a bit different. The front bar menu is good with some of the biggest schnitzels I've seen and the 50c wings on Tuesday can't be passed up.
R. V.
Dined in the bistro.
Nice enough dinner area, i think they are still working on it.
Big PLUS is the selection of salad and help yourself bread .Good selection compared with other hotels that give a slice of tomato, cucumber and lettuce call it salad and charge the same price. If they could continue with Classic Lester Schnitzels it would be a winner! And pork ribs were my favorite.
Comfortable place for a catch up.
D. H.
What a great pub. Excellent food, nice people and they've returned an ageing star to her full blown glory.
The environment is still very "pub-like" and the food is accessible but very high-end.
Love what your doing - keep doing it!!
L.
Biggest and best schnitzels in Adelaide, great vibe and awesome pub food. Prepare to need a doggy bag if you get the Baron size schnitzel!
N. B.
Fantastic atmosphere. Log fires cocktails and pub filling fare. Magnificent snitzels steaks fish and many other hearty meals.
A must for those winter nights.
J. J.
Very kind staff, great beer menu. They have a beer legends challenge which looks like lots of fun. Great atmosphere every time i head in.
Thank you Earl of Leicester Hotel
F. P.
We our a group of 12 ladies who belonged to a club called The pudding club. And even month we pick a hotel pub. We all love the Earl of Leicester, plenty of great parking, fan food, great friendly staff, very good served. Plus great coffee. So now we come here all the time, except if one of the group want to go some where of their choice. Great place for young and old.
B. H.
Great food and selection of beers. Salad bar has a healthy selection not just cheap fillers. Tables not crammed too close together like some smaller venues in the area.
S. W.
From a vegetarian point of view, the Leicester is disappointing. Standard offerings (gnocchi, bland vegetarian burger) contrast with tasty sides on the meat dishes (roast vegetables, inventive mashes). Why not make them available to vegetarians too, or come up with something vegetarians haven't seen a thousand times before on the main menu? Environment pleasant and service good. Food arrived quickly. Fries and onion rings delicious. Salad bar okay.
A. C.
Good atmosphere. Food are good quality but a little pricy.
S. R.
Food is at a very high standard, staff great, not a long wait for food, overall would reccomend for a very nice lunch or dinner out.
S. J.
Best schnitzels in Adelaide. The toppings are generous and great flavours. The quiz nights are always a good laugh. More modern and well thought out than your average quiz night.
B. B.
Great schnitzel! Biggest and best cooked around
P. B.
Great atmosphere if you can get in the front bar, if not it feels like you're in the same old lifeless crappy bistro. A real contrast between the two. Nonetheless great food including some of the craziest schnitzels every and excellent beer selection in both front bar and bistro. Would get 5 stars if not for the bistro.
S. B.
Always a GUARANTEE. GOTTA LURVE THE "EARL" SUPER staff, food, decor dining, service_great crowd, lovely layout and reasonable prices. Always a winner. Patron many many years. Always kind to my family and I
.. Great owners currently gorgeous Lady went out of her way to make me feel comfortable one occasion when I needed. Thanks you (owners wife) very much. Awesome spot
D. P.
The lady at the bar was super friendly! You know your staff are great when you go to a bar to get a beer, and you leave with a beer and a random fact!
Not to mention the delicious schnitzels! Hoo boy what a place!
N. G.
Great food and it's also well presented on the plate. Plus there are plenty of room to move around the place if a wheelchair or walking from is required. Hide but we'll presented location. I had the brontersorus snitzel
P. M.
Excellent staff. Very customer service focused. Food is good, and they have a comprehensive beer and wine list. Salad bar is simple but fresh.
D. F.
Food was really nice, but a bit pricey.
S. R.
Incredible! The food was incredible (the sage and cauliflower croquettes were out of this world) and the staff friendly. We'll be back!
W. D.
Great food. Best duck menu I've had.
S. F.
We loved it,the food was delicious nice cosy atmosphere and friendly staff.
P. B.
Great atmosphere, cosy, real fire burning in the fireplace. A couple of really unusual beers on tap, knowledgeable, friendly staff. Only complaint was that service was a bit slow.
b. c.
Thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Earl, great service and the food was imaginative and perfectly executed.
A. G.
Absolutely amazing. The atmosphere is incredible, staff were friendly and knowledgeable, building is beautiful and the food was 3 times better than it's standard pub pricing suggested
M. W.
Amazing food, cold beers & funky music.
D. P.
Attended a function upstairs, while the staff were very accommodating and the food was excellent there was a constant noise around the bar area which detracted from the overall atmosphere. The staircase up to the function room is quite rickety but this may be outside of their control.
G.
Good quality pub all round
A. B.
Nice cosy atmosphere, wide variety of quality food, good range of craft and coopers beers on tap. They still make good schnitzels too.
S. H.
Was perfectly ok, warm and cosy, but lacking the beer passion that was here a few years ago. Very much a suburban pub. Don't come here if you are chasing craft beer. Very high prices too, $34 for two rum and cokes
K. P.
Love the food and service. The two young bartenders that served us were amazing.
S. B.
Never had a scotch egg b4 and it was amazing decor was fabulous must of been pension day cos the crowd was old
A. P.
Great for a beer particularly suited to winter months. Dining room is ok, nothing special, stick to traditional pub meals, the fancy stuff not quite on the mark.
J. G.
Still home of the best schnitty's in Adelaide IMO, friendly staff and a good selection of brews make this pub worth coming to. Looking forward to seeing what direction new management takes with the establishment.
W. N.
Sensational, no more words are needed. The place to eat just outside the CBD
C. O.
A pub with a great feel in the backstreets.
It feels like it has a soul and staff complement the feel being friendly and efficient.
A normal range if pub food that is presented and tastes as it should.
C. S.
Not what it used to be... Schnitzels aren't as big or as tasty, and the price you pay for beer is a bit rich when you can nsider they have a pokie hall. Nice location.
J. D.
Great food!
Always awesome and changing tap list with geat craft options!!
Awesome list of of some 90 craft and international bottled/canned beers!!
Just visit venue when in Adelaide 🤗
T. H.
The formal dining room is gone giving way to an enlarged casual space. Same good food. The salad bar is made up of single ingredients and you build your own salad, nice.
A. L.
Apparently one of the biggest Chicken Parmiagana's around. Just had to drop in and try it out. Yes, it was big (hanging over your plate kind of big). The place is huge too. There was a whole dining area that was unused. Has a salad bar and alfresco area. No kids playground but the staff were friendly and attentive to our needs.
S. J.
Great renovation, sensational new staff - this place is rocking.
I went here about 3yrs ago and it was tired and frankly disgusting. The new owners have done an incredible job getting the place going again and bringing it into the modern age.
Well done everyone.
C. J.
Front bar is a proper old fashioned space. At the rear is a large dining area with a good choice of meals on the menu. Pretty good value too.
R. W.
The schnitzels were nowhere near as big as I remember them.
The Halloumi salad was very nice.
d. c.
Food and atmosphere was lovely apart from the continual hammering noise as they prepared snitzels - could be done at a time other than while people are having lunch
G. W.
I loved the boutique beers. My wife had the barramundi, great. I had the Earl hamburger - Wagyu beef... Ah I don't remember the rest of the condiments, but it was beautiful. And the cost was acceptable.
P. T.
New ownership and menu. Bistro and restaurant have been combined into one, and prices udjusted upwards, but nice big sized serves, and very nicely cooked. Salad bar was less inspiring than before, I thought.
K. W.
Good beer & lovely lunch. Had the Braised Steak pie....OMG! No other pie will taste as good!!
J. H.
Great food. After a management change the food took a downward trend, but they have really turned it around now. Excellent presentation and most importantly they got the taste.
T.
The 500g schnitzel is awesome. Friendly staff and good food. Will be back again. Thanks
B. R.
Had my birthday dinner here last night. It was absolutely superb! Loved every single part including the food and customer service
J. W.
Great meals and atmosphere👍
S. F.
Good steak meal, nice bottle of lambrook spark, good company, friendly service in a pleasant setting.
B. M.
Very poor salad bar (empty) and when did chicken salt become standard on chips without being asked, it's foul! Nice crunch on the schnitzel.
N. E.
A great meal and good environment. Disappointing that there is no dedicated bicycle parking (that I could see) particularly when a prominent cycling route runs along the back of the site.
M. D.
Great atmosphere. Love this place.
Good beer selection. Friendly staff. 100% recommended. Food is fantastic too.
J. C.
oh what has happened??? once upon a time this was the friendly local where service was excellent the food unbelievable. As with most fairy tales this seems to have come to an end. As a resident of he area we tend to come here very frequently to dine. Th.e portion sizes have decreased and where oh where has the brilliant service gone. Certainly won't be back
A.
What a rare and great thing in Australia, a cracking suburban boozer. Fantastic bar, brilliant beer and full of people chatting and listening to music. As a POM it nearly made me homesick! I've lived in Adelaide for four years and never knew this pub existed and if you don't either go have a pint in what has to be a little local secret!
T. W.
My sausages and mash meal was a little small for the price. Everything else ok.
C. P.
Its all about the massive range of beers and the massive schnitzels. A great pub. Front bar can get a little noisy but you wont go wrong visiting here.
V. B.
One of the best burgers I have had in a long time. Order the Earl burger and you won't be disappointed. The pub itself is gorgeous and service was amazing!
R. W.
Great beer selections, busy on a weeknight
N. W.
Good pub, food was excellent.Nice atmosphere,Front Bar seemed to be ticking along nicely too.
P. R.
English style front bar with a great choice of beers. Restaurant is pleasant and busy, always a good sign. Well worth a visit for antire afternoon.
J. T.
Old building in back street. Open fireplace, exposed brick and wood beams in front and side bar. Food is excellent and the service is very good too.
K. M.
The Earl is like any other pub in SA, it serves a reasonable schnitty but the value for money has certainly changed. The atmosphere is nice, however it could do with a bit of a refresh.
S. B.
Love the bar, makes the best schnitzel in Adelaide, but the bar was better before the new owners took over and food has become significantly more expensive.
M. S.
I've been through their Beer Legends list once and discovered a range of nice new brews in the process.
The pub food is good but there is also a very nice restaurant that is separate from the front bar.
S. M.
Great 50c Wings on Tuesdays. Beer is great and so is service.
H. H.
I don't usually have high expectations of hotel food but I had a beef snitzel from here and it was amazing & probably the best tasting snitzel I have ever eaten, 10 stars.
P. S.
Great selection of beer on tap and usually a good food specials list. Meal prices are a little on the expensive side though. The refurbished front bar is great.
J. B.
For me this place is okay. Nice place to relax and have a drink. Is this a place I would go out of my to have a meal and meet friends. Maybe, but only once a year.
A. H.
Great food. Good service. And, well worth another visit...😎
P. V.
Schnitzels on a comically epic scale, seemingly designed with the sole intention of bring even the toughest of trash-talking "I can take this on" schnitzel aficionado to his or her knees in whimpering defeat. Recommendation for normal human beings: have the smaller one and put the $3-$4 difference toward a beer or glass of wine.
If you are going to take on a large one, eschew the salad bar (particularly any bread rolls), don't brag until after you've won, and have a defibrillator on standby.
B. P.
Great menu and excellent food and service, I should have taken photos but we tucked in straight away Highly recommend this venue
M. H.
Beautiful old pub. Good food And service. A little expensive..not sure if it's a Sunday surcharge?
B. C.
Great food
Excellent customer service.
Friendly staff.
C. H.
Such a lovely pub with a great English vibe. I can’t wait to visit again.
A. D.
Excellent meal, best steak I've had in some time, and the chips were spot on, but best of all were the staff, cheerful and very helpful.
A. F.
Fun bar with free pool on Sundays. Second best bar in Adelaide for beer. The legands list is a great way to sample an international list of beers, but the rotations on taps and othet bottles are far more impressive. Food is awesome.
D. L.
Been here many times without fault. Unfortunately in this instance the salad bar was empty and our order was lost which resulted in an 80min wait even after a number of prompts. Management was really apologetic and offered a round of drinks. Schnitty was A++ as per usual.
P. G.
First time since the place has been renovated. Very nicely done it has opened it up. Great meals, friendly and efficient staff. Recommend to anyone.
C. H.
Fantastic staff, Food is excellent and you have to do the Beer Legends Challenge. Good old fashion pub. My new local :)
D. L.
Incredibly welcoming staff... I had my 40 th there and was made to feel like I went there every day!!! Beautiful food, great beer selection!!! Very happy!!!
J. R.
Pub is very popular with an incredible selection of designer beers and local lagers. Parking is challenging on the narrow sidestreets so perhaps catch an uber and have another drink or 2. Oh the family restaurant in back is ok as well but to be honest I was there for the liquid refreshments.
D. S.
Very good experience with excellent food, drinks and service. Definitely will revisit.
M. A.
Dog friendly beer garden
M. M.
Very warm and homely atmosphere. Food and staff were great.
K. S.
Really great food, I had the Mexican chicken schnitzel and husband had steak, both fantastic, only thing is very expensive, $35 for a schnitzel
S. R.
Excellent!!! What a top notch chicken scnitty!! Great relaxed laid back pub. Thanks again we will return!!
P. C.
No joke this place is underrated, the chef here is consistent to F.. earl burger and the beef schnitzel 10/10 and we have been here about 10 times..
The chef should get a pay rise - case closed - tell your friends.. all of them
P. B.
Beers list is constantly good and constantly changing. The Earl has everything you want out of a local pub including a relaxed front and friendly staff.
T. 6.
A great little character pub in the inner suburbs of Adelaide. Take the beer legend challange with a friend. A good way to keep in touch over a year or so
F. B.
Great food at reasonable prices. Very comfortable bistro with friendly staff. The only downside was that drinks were quite expensive.
F. A. L.
Great service , lovely waitresses , great food , My tip stop putting lettuce leaves on the plates as greenery , heaps of wastage for no reason when beautiful salad bar available with lots of variety . Comfy chairs lovely experience , great heating .
M. L.
Always had a great meal here. Great variety on the menu. Pub meals plus something interesting and tasty
h. k.
Amazing food , Presentation and service ....highly recommended
T. S.
Good sized portions and food was hot on arrival, friendly staff.
E. K.
The tuna entry was great.
S. C.
Plenty of beers with a great selection. Always a new beer on tap.
Home of the biggest schnitzels also. All round great pub.
G. J.
Ok dining experience, is it under new management as the schnitzels used to be amazing, still large but average (no more creative topping names or recipes)
J. Q.
Great menu choice
M. M.
Great Old English Pub atmosphere, highly recommend the Pan-Fried Handmade Gnocchi and the Jamón Pizza with a glass of the Hentley Farm ‘Poppy’ Field Blend
K. A.
lovely meal. great wine .very good service
R. F.
Meals are great. A little on the pricey side. Salad bar could have a bit more variety.
D. P.
Great little pub...try their monster 550 gram snitzels....delicious!
L. H.
Since renovating, it's a much more welcoming dining area. I'm also glad they decided to bring back the large schnitzel 👌
A. R.
So blessed to have this as my local. Incredible selection of beers + food, & very friendly and helpful staff to go with it.
J. O.

M. J.
A very enjoyable experience, staff were great food was delicious
S. K.
Excellent Salad Bar, good staff and the food is great. Bit expensive for pub meals.
M. K.
If you like beer then it would be a place you have to stop in at. Has one of the best selections I've ever seen anywhere. Also try the schnitzel range. Especially the killrudd ;)
J. K.
Excellent food and superb beers. Both the gnocchi and the salmon were great. Recommended
s. b.
Great food and service, friendly, and enjoyed the London Pride beer
J. S.
The trivia was extremely loud so we had to move outside in the cold, but the staff were lovely, the wine was cold and the food was amazing!! 🙌
M. C.
Food was awesome. Shame that the restaurant has televisions everywhere. The reason people go out to dine is to be social, not watch television. Please get rid of the TVs.
C. E.
Food was of excellent quality and the service was great. Could not fault the meal in any way. Brilliant!
V. T.
Very good food 💪🏿
Had a feed there with my father today

D. P.
Such a friendly pub in suburbia! I'd go out of my way to eat and drink here! So good!
C. L.
This place does not disappoint in the schnitzel or beer selection. The staff is a little rough around the edges, but they are quick to please.
T. B.
Can't go wrong with with the schnitzels; just be sure to have a big appetite if you're getting a large one, they're huge!
B. H.
