Cool little dingy pub located in the 'other' side of town if you were looking for something more 'local'. Weird but funny as decorations around the place including a shrine of Burt Newton (I mean, who doesn't?) Beers are reasonably priced at 7.40 and mixed drinks for 8.

Love this pub. Awesome staff and live music scene. That girl that hosts the quiz night there should be on tv! So funny! The secret steak tartare they serve upstairs is great but they need more plaques on the walls. More of them and also bigger ones.

This pub is the coolest pub in Adelaide. Every Monday night it is going off at Billy Bob's BBQ jam. The pool table is cheap, shoddy and cramped as a good pub table should be. They cook snags out the back for a gold coin donation and the music is a mix of good and not so good as a jam session should be. An Adelaide institution, make sure you check it out on a Monday night from about 10:30 pm till late.

My absolute favourite venue in Adelaide for local live music and low-key, friendly atmosphere, any night of the week. The decor is the perfection of grimy kitsch; there's a good sized beer garden out the back, and plenty Coopers on tap. Monday nights is Bob's Barbecue Jam, the open mic night.

I am never going back to the Grace Emily ever again, which is unfortunate because I quite like the venue itself, however management need to do a serious and drastic overhaul of their bar staff. The last (and final) time I went to the Grace Emily I ordered a coopers sparkling ale from the tap (one of my favourites beers that I drink regularly) and was served a beer that more closely resembled vegemite than a beer with the amount of bottom keg sediment in it. When I asked if I could exchange my "beer" (aka yeast soup) for a fresh one once the keg had been changed, the bar staff flatly refused. Slightly taken aback by this I ask if instead it would be possible to exchange it for a bottle of coopers sparkling ale from the fridge and I would happily pay the difference. Again I was flatly refused. Being absolutely dumbfounded at this stage I asked if I could just have my money back. Again (not surprisingly) they refused. In all the years I have been going to venues around Adelaide I have never experienced such shocking, rude and utterly unreasonable service. I am all together very disappointed that such terrible bar service has ruined what is in most other respects an enjoyable place. Extremely poor form.

This bar isn't modern, it isn't fresh, it isn't new, but it also isn't pretentious. It's an old pair of sneakers that are comfortable as, even if they are a bit tattered. Respectable selection of drinks at solid prices. Lots of good local music.

I've been coming here for about 10 years for the simple reason it's one of the best pub experiences Adelaide offers. They are a strong supporter of local live music and the yarts; the punters have character, so the craik is excellent and they can put your bike in a secure lockup for the night if you need to. It's still 40 cents for a game of pool, there is no gambling, nor are there meaningless rows of competing flatscreen TVs all on different channels - it's an oasis. Now, if only they would get a bloody toaster oven and start crankin' out the toasted Ham, Cheese and Tomato sarnies, (oh and get in some more Brew Boys' ales) life would be perfect. And no, I don't recollect seeing anything remotely like the mysterious complaint story on here. Cheers, Z
