Comments of Hellbound Wine Bar

I must have walked past this bar a million times on Rundle street but decided to pop in on a Sunday afternoon. Great selection of wine and exotic beers, the Spanish beer was particularly good. Cool venue, you’re literally in subterranean Adelaide - the underground that once connected across the shops above

An amazing selection of wines with a variety of unique offerings, plus great food and plenty of other drinks to keep everyone happy. This excellent venue is supported by a very friendly and welcoming team who all ensure a great experience. Thank you Hellbound Wine Bar!

One of my favourite spots in town at the moment. It's small but has a lot of character. Tons of wine to choose form but honestly I always just go for a bottle of cheap red, it's always nice. Consistently good.

A cute wine bar with 20 wines by the glass – starting at $8 – and more than 200 listed bottles that soar to $2200 a pop. Delicious dishes are made to pair with wine and there’s nothing over $16. Friendly and lovely staff!
Hellbound Wine bar is at 201 Rundle St (Basement), Adelaide, South Australia 5000

So glad I found this hidden little gem on my last night in Adelaide. A lovely cosy atmosphere with friendly bar staff. The soft cheese and artichoke dish with sour dough bread was scrumptious. Wish I could go back for seconds!

Huge selection of wine, great accompanying snacks and excellent vibes. The perfect place for a quite drink with friends or a date. It is downstairs, so I am not sure about disability access!

Best Bar menu in Adelaide.
Wine was of great quality and a reasonable price.
Food exceeded our expectation. Come and be pleasantly surprised.
Must be lovers of good foods or go elsewhere.

The wine selection is extensive and great, and the atmosphere is incredible. But the true charm of this wine bar is the staff who energise each conversation with a knowledge and familiarity that makes you wonder how so many people are walking above this oasis without being drawn into its irresistible waters.

Great space.
-Underground
-fancy French wines $$$
-great music from the Sonos
-might be a little pricy but not pretentious

Good wine selection. Mystery wines were fun and chosen well. Great atmosphere that isn’t too loud

Loved our experience here at Hellhound. Friendly and extremely knowledgeable crew, delicious charcuterie, interesting wines and vermouths... just the best recipe for a good time. Try ALL the Maidenii stuff and go for the mystery pours, great bar!

Fun little place, bit of character. Wish they had more wine options by the glass, but lots of bottle options if you want a full bottle.

Pleasant wine bar. Interesting sitting on the footpath outside. The trout pate was subtle.

So good! Amazing selection of wines by the glass and bottle. Great value, friendly and knowledgeable staff.

As I am not a wine drinker, I was a bit reserved about walking down the stairs.
But to my surprise I was still made to feel welcome and the staff were fantastic.
Do yourself a favour and check out this hide away venue.

Awesome little spot! stopped in few a quiet drink with my partner and the staff were so helpful and the wine list is extraordinary.
We didn't get any food by next time definitely going to stay a little longer and have a bite to eat and a bottle or two. Very good vibes for a place called hellbound ha

Good new wine bar in a great location. There is a really cool underground atmosphere without being claustrophobic.
The staff were attentive and very helpful.
The wine list is extensive to say the least, a fantastic selection of New and Old world wine.
The only criticism is, if youre in a group and have someone that doesn't drink wine, the options are very limited. But it is a wine bar so........
Great place!! Check it out.

While visiting Adelaide had a great experience. Knowledgeable owner behind the bar open to sit down and chat with us about wine. Great vibes here!

Great hospitality and always fresh interesting vino to consume by the glass. Been a great place to visit on a Friday evening.

Atmospheric as hell (heh). Wonderful wine bar, tucked away in Rundle st away from prying eyes. Descend down stairs to be met by a comfy narrow bar, packed to the walls (literally) by all the wines of the world. Being in South Australia this place offers the best we have to offer as well as a very strong international selection. We always pop in when we have some spare time in the city and it has never disappointed. Mystery glasses take a lot of the uncertainty out of the matter, especially with that many wines on one list. Worth a stop in for sure.

Absolutely the most exciting wine bar in the CBD. BRILLIANT wine list, amazing service, comfortable AF. Food is delicious, wine is perfect, cannot fault. Go for a drink or spend the whole night, happy days. XX

A fabulous place to relax - great wines, and even better ambiance.

I found Hellbound from a google search for wine bars near Hindmarsh Square where I was staying. a very interesting global selection of wines, with a small but quality range of wines by the glass. Staff were extremely informative and willing to spend time discussing preferences, trends, their own evaluation of wines and wineries.
I even met one of their featured winemakers, Col, from Adelina, in Clare, home of the best rieslings in the country (and pretty decent reds as well) who makes a lovely riesling (thats all I had time to taste).
The casual drop in resulted in my being over an hour late for my restaurant reservation (apologies Singh Thai restaurant, but I did get there and had a lovely meal). Highly recommended, I will definitely drop in for longer next time I'm in Adelaide. Five stars for me. Peter

Looking for the best wine bar in Adelaide? You've found it. Awesome rotating wine list of local and international small producers, tasty plates of nibbles to share. Love it.

I'd go as far to say that this is the best wine bar in Adelaide. Something the town has been missing for a while, ironic considering what South Australia is famous for. Incredible underground venue with a really fun and funky fitout - the wine list can keep you captivated for hours, and the staff will keep you well-watered and entertained. Also worth trying the food on offer too!! Burrata should be at the top of your list! A serious must-do for any visitor to Adelaide.

Wonderful food and wine. A hidden little gem in Adelaide

One of the best wine bars in Aus. Chill vibe, great list, informative and lovely staff. Distinctly low-key Aussie vibe with a bit of a punk bent. Love it.

Cool little underground wine bar, well worth a look in if you are looking for a spot for a drink after work. The space is cosy and well set up for small groups. The drinks menu is well put together with a great selection. The bar food is excellent as well

What a beautiful little addition to Rundle St. Gorgeous interior and a fab selection of wine and liquor to choose from, it is a great place to chill with friends, chat and indulge in top quality beverages. This is not the kind of venue to go to if you are after a loud, in-your-face atmosphere. It is upmarket and cosy. I went there with a diverse group of friends who have wide and varied interests, and are all very different from each other. Every single person was totally smitten with Hellbound. It really is perfect for a crowd, like my friends, that want to dress nicely, go out on the town, drink great liquor, take it slow and be home in bed by midnight :D Welcome to the neighbuorhood Hellbound. Highly recommend.

Excellent - Beautiful place for a pitcher of beer. Reasonable prices and good size portioned meals. Fascinating service and a lovely, relaxed environment.

Excellent little wine bar. Great drink menu and the snacks are perfect. The anchovy with almond is an absolute winner. I'll be coming back for that again...
and again. 😊

Great wine list.

Good little bar. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices. Could do with bigger beers but it's a wine bar so can't complain.

Good little wine bar, very extensive wine list, friendly service.

It's nice enough. They could have done more with the decor around the Hellbound theme. Below average selection of craft beers for a place like this.
