What an amazing service by all the staff. I’m highly impressed and what a bargain food and drinks. Guys come visit John Doe’s and get surprised every time you visit. 💯

We had a very wild Sunday exploring the bars and pubs of Gilbert Street. JD’s was definitely the most casual and relaxed - it even had a free sausage sizzle on a Sunday afternoon. The bar feels more like the owner’s hobby so there is also a great range of obscure beers (like Mythos) available. Friendly staff and the locals are also up for a chat

Walked in at 9pm, after learning that kitchen in Adelaide are closed at 8:30. The place have great vibes with friendly staff, fireplace definetly has the friendly neighborhood vibes. The food was so good, the corn, the wagyu Burger and the hot dog was just perfect

A nice little local for city folk. Sadly so small there is no room for a proper kitchen to make those all-important hot chips to go with our drink. Free sausage sizzle will appeal only to the meat eaters.

Chilled. Had a few schooners and worked out that 2 schooners is more than a pint. We measured it out... There was some weird artwork on the central wall and apparently can choose your own records. There were a few of us oldies at the bar and young lads around the place.

Never knew this place existed. Been in existence about a year. Very homely, relaxed and prices are appealing. Suggest visit it and judge for yourself. Perfect for a relaxing beer, wine or other. Very down to earth. But not for snobs ;0)

Love John Doe's, staff here are lovely and the drinks are really well priced and huge variety. It's also a nice place to drop in for a coffee on a wintry day, looking forward to bringing a book here in a couple of months.

Personaly one of my favourites pubs in Adelaide, the place is small but gives off a very homely feel to it, with furniture that feels like a home and amazing home made and home cooked food, it feels like im having a bbq at a friends place. The staff are extremely friendly and the a very fair price, highly recommend this place.

Super friendly and family type vibes here. Didn't know what to expect but walking inside the elongated yet sedate bar plays equal fiddle to the ample indoor seating area. Replete with a mix of cafe and hip Inner West rental furniture, the friendly staff make you feel like this could be your local bar even if you don't live in the area. Not sold yet? Sub $7 pints of classic local and interstate beers on certain weekdays and some wines in the cooler to help quench your thirst as well. SA locals 23rd St sit atop a fine gin list, with other liqueur to support inquisitive minds. If you don't have a new local yet then this may be your next good bet.

It is a small pub it is nice and the staff are very friendly it has cheap drinks and a reasonable priced menu for food and bar snacks aswell. Some karaoke they have aswell as other events aswell throughout the week

Like it says on the packet this is a local bar. Cheap beers, live music, and best of all a good ol fashioned meat raffle. No fancy fit outs here just a great spot to have a drink and catch up with your mates.
