The pinnacle of cocktail bars in Adelaide - I’m so glad I went there first!!! Service was incredible and very knowledgeable. The cocktail list blew my mind with local ingredients and combinations, very happily surprised. And sitting at the bar was easily the best choice, so much to see, hear and absorb! A must try when in Melbourne! *go to bread and bone and head DOWNSTAIRS x2, it’s a wall-door so get pressing haha

Talk about a hidden treasure. We were recommended this bar when visiting Adelaide from Sydney. It was not an easy find. Just up a slight alley off Peel Street behind some doors that blend into the wall and then down some stairs awaits a bar that we found to be the best surprise of the night. With some jazz music playing and a very invested staff member that was all about local produce fulfilling the ingredients of the array of cocktails on the menu. With a Gatsby feel this bar offered some very interesting cocktails as well as off the menu requests being available. We were fortunate enough to have some Gin tasting from Never Never Distilling Co. which just added to the already amazing experience. If you visit Adelaide and want a sneaky bar to have a drink at - Maybe Mae can be your choice

Hidden at the base of a set of stairs, this is one of Adelaide’s most awesome bars. There’s nothing pretentious about it with a basic retro fit out and super friendly service - we even had table service which was a welcome touch! Great cocktail menu and the drinks were served in frozen glass. Definitely make the effort to track this place down

Really enjoyed our time here! Took us a hot minute to find the entrance, but the staff were awesome and cocktails were delicious. I tried a few different ones and wasn't disappointed with any of them! Good music and a good vibe, found ourselves wanting to come back the second we left! Enjoyed my time here so much (had a few...) that I left all my belongings on the counter when I waltzed on out, one of the bartenders was actually kind enough to run out and return everything to me :) Unfortunately I didn't catch anyone's names but definitely the place to go if you want to chill out and enjoy a few drinks (just keep your eyes peeled for the entrance! It's a 'secret door' situation near bread & bone).

Great little Gatsby-esque find! Was having dinner at the Bread and Bone (sitting outside in the rustic train station style alley) when we noticed a lot of people going down some stairs and entering a door that looked like a wall. Only to realise there's a whole bar behind it! So wandered in after dinner and spent a an hour in the small 20s inspired Decor in a booth drinking a delicious Peel St Reviver, which I would highly recommend! There's also about 130 whiskeys... And a good range of cocktails if that's more your thing... Also a great addition was some spiced up Nutri-Grain snacks (totally original and very tasty).

Ok wow. Seated ASAP and ordered not long after. Had my gourmet hotdog(best ever by the way) served within 10 mins even though the place was packed. Great beer, awesome service. Make sure you stop in if you're in town.

Quite simply the best cocktail bar in Adelaide. I've introduced several friends to this place and they have all wanted to come back the following week. Fantastic range of hard to find Japanese whiskey and local craft beer is a fantastic touch. If you're a whiskey geek, i thoroughly recommend the Hakushu whiskey, you won't regret it! If I could rate this place higher, I would!

The list of cocktails may not be huge, but what they offer is exactly what you need. They have a great menu of drinks with ingredients that are locally acquired. You can ask for cocktails you may know that they don't have on their menu. The venue is fabulous with a secret door to enter and booths and bar chairs to sit at. The staff are incredibly well knowledged in their field of work. Ask and they will do their best to answer your questions.

A really cool place to chill and have a few drinks! The 'hidden' door is a neat idea and really adds to the atmosphere. It does tend to get very crowded on your busier nights (weekends) so don't always expect to get a table. They have a really good apple and bourbon drink that I'd strongly recommend trying if you like something sweet and sour with a nice peppery aftertaste.

Wow! Never met a more courteous manager! He came out into the line outside multiple times to make sure everyone was politely informed about the busyness of the bar, and even went so far as to pre-order our drinks so that when we got inside, they came out a minute later! Great atmosphere and cocktails. Love the booth seating and music. It can get quite busy later in the evenings, so if you want to quickly check it out I'd recommend dropping in earlier in the evening. The menu is geared towards cocktails, so it can be a bit pricey.

Found this place online so we thought we would give it a try. You'll find this bar behind unsign posted wooden doors. It was small and cosy. There were 3 large booths with leather seats which could fit around 8 people. There was also a long wooden bench which could probably accommodate 10 people. We went in a large group of 15+ on a Wednesday night so we were just about the only patrons. The drinks were good and I enjoyed the expresso martini. We also had gin and tonics and shots. The two staff members however appeared disinterested and not very enthusiastic. They stopped serving drinks well before the 2am closing time. We still had a good time but I think the staff should be more lively.

Haha! I knew this place was behind a secret door, but I still had to ask for directions. A very comfortable bar with generous booths and a most interesting selection of gins served by seriously knowledgeable and friendly staff, who present the drinks so that you really get a good opportunity to taste them. (And they're drop-dead gorgeous.) Pity the only food is 'nuts and bolts' - without something a touch more substantial a second gin is too dangerous.
