What a great little rustic place. Last night it featured an accoustic guitarist singing eighties hits. The decor is retro/ vintage and the meal sections huge. They have an excellent plant based menu as well as wagyu steak. Parking is easy down the side streets. Highly recommended.

Great cold beer and some really nice meals. Relaxed atmosphere but can get busy some nights of course. A mix of some retro and modern seating areas to choose from. Nice outdoor central area, and gigs to the left on stage as you walk in, what more could you want.

Had a wonderful time at the Royal Oak Beer Garden for my 60th. The space was gorgeous. Dappled sunlight during the day and twinkling lights at night. We had a variety of finger food which was absolutely delicious. A very small criticism about the labelling of the food. We had some dietary requirements. However, there was no labelling of this food. The staff were very helpful and attentive and immediately replaced the "missing" food. My guests all raved about the place! Thankyou especially to India from the Royal Oak who assisted me with the planning. I had such a good time, I forgot to take photos!

Pleasant pub with an older character, well restored. Great place to admire its surrounds. The happy hours have good prices. Great choice with food menu. Restaurant done in 70's theme. The gaming room is very well presented with sitting area to read the paper. Good selection in bottle shop at rear with easy parking. A pub which fits in North Adeliade's older heritage buildings.

Ok so I didn’t eat there or anything like that, I literally went in for a beer and a quick play on the Pokies. Very impressed with the service they give! It was a case of nothing being too hard and the young bloke serving seemed to like both his customers AND his job. Hospitality workers around could do a lot worse than emulate him. So I can’t say anything about the food but if, like me, you hate bad service, go to the Royal Oak.

Great vibe and decor at this hotel. Drink selection is great. Low rating however because the food was lacking. I ordered the vegan burger with a side of halloumi. WAY to much salt on the chips. The forgot my halloumi initially and I’m pretty sure they served me tofu instead of halloumi which was also covered in so much salt I was left gagging. The burger itself was quite nice but the whole meal was ruined by all the salt.

The quality of the food was outstanding! A special deal for the 400g rump steak reduced the price for $28 to $15, and the steak was very tender and tasted amazing! The small dining room is noisy. The furniture is retro and not that good. The interior hasn't been done up for many years, but that is the theme. We dine there because of the high quality food and good service.

Some of the food is great - some is average. The squid is great. Chicken Schnitzel is that weird fake, processed chicken. Mushroom vegan schnitzel is oily and mostly crumbs. Stick to the squid and the ribs and youll be happy. Also, no cutlery served with some of the meals.

Had dinner there tonight. They have lots of vegan options, that's why we went there. My husband ordered us 4 meals between us because we are used to getting very small portions when we buy vegan meals at other restaurants. We didn't need to 😆 they are great size meals. We had lasagna and a cauliflower schnitzel each. Perfection.

My guests loved the beer garden, not too big and not too small for a party and the atmosphere it creates was excellent. Can't speak highly enough of Courtney and then Richard who assisted in making it all run smoothly with no dramas. My regular these guys tend to look after me been here for the past five years on n off I don't think I ever had any concern or issue whatsoever foods great drinks are great crew is mostly outstanding a few of the blokes are worthy of a pat on the back champions. if there's any hiccup with my membership like a system down or something I'm compensated on the spot beers or a feed on the house this is one of the pubs you could spend all day & night @ just chilling with a few meals and plenty of beers also won a few grand here n there not to shabby mate. *Thumbs Up*

When they cut hospitality penalty rates did they cut the staff interest in serving customers? So reluctant to post this as the Oak is my all time favourite pub, but waiting 10+ mins at the bar for a beer at 430pm on a Wednesday while bar staff walk past me 5-6 times, & ignore my wave and then me standing at the bar with cash in hand while they cut lemons, is worthy of a review. We easily put $100 over the bar every time we come here but have now found a more attentive bar nearby. Let us know when you’ve sorted it out.

Went there for a meal on a Sunday night and the place was Lively with lots of atmosphere. There was a band/singer setting up when we arrived who started up soon after, good music which added to the vibrancy. Tables and chairs were very retro 1970's took me back to my childhood. Food was very nice and decent sized portions.

Steak Tuesday - beautiful steak - could cut with a butter knife (except for the gristle-bit on the very edge). Arrived at 8:20pm - 10 mins before the kitchen closed & they were happy to cook for us. Idk if it was the cut or the cook (porterhouse) The entertainment and venue was 5⭐ our reserved seats were well placed, not too close to the stage where the music would be too loud. Staff need to pay closer attention to the patrons. We should be able to provide cultural experiences for our children without being harassed by drunks or waiting forever for food.
