Pros: extremely friendly staff. Beef schnitzel: $22 cooked well. Diane sauce seemed lacking a bit of cream Steak sandwich: $23 delicious & hearty with all the trimmings. Ciabatta was warm which is a plus. Scotch fillet steak: $35 well seasoned….a little over salted (a touch). Ordered rare but decided blue. Didn’t complain as we can stomach it but others may be complaining about it. We prefer underdone than over done, but considering price, chef really should be bang on. Gravy seemed like a jus, tasty but not thick enough to grab onto the steak Kids cheeseburger: $9 tasty, well portioned but lacking a little salad.

Have been to the archer a few times in the last few months. The food is amazing. The gin selection is huge! Staff have been really friendly and accommodating to our needs. I love the library upstairs it is so gorgeous. Would definitely recommend this pub if you want a function or just a night out.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. Service was quick and friendly. Meals came out without having to wait for too long especially with time limits on car parking in the area. My Pork Belly was delicious. Decent serving size cooked just right. My Wife had the Chicken Parmi was a good size again but she thought it was a bit bland lacking flavour. Keen to try the other things on the menu when we come next time.

Despite a flashy ground level Bar, lunch was nothing to write home about. The chicken parmigiana was thickly crumbed so I️t was oily to eat and the wontons in Vietnamese broth was .... not very nice. Still a nice atmosphere if you’re in North Adelaide and want a casual beer.

The Archer is still going strong after many years in O'Connell Street, North Adelaide. I had booked on line with The Fork. We chose to park at the back of The Archer in their car park. It is not expensive but be aware, you do need to purchase and display your ticket. Otherwise street parking is available but in short supply. When we arrived we were shown to a booth which we all found a bit squeezy. In the middle of our table was a QR Code which I scanned and the menu, drinks list and prices were then available to read and we then placed all our orders using this appon our phones. Payment is also made, if you wish, using the same method. It was very easy and efficient. Gone is the menu with the usual pub food. My mango chicken with steamed greens was perfectly cooked and plenty to eat. The drinks list offers some good choices, all of which can be ordered from your table, again using your phone. Orders can be placed at the counter if you prefer to do this. We did find it fairly noisy but we expected this from The Archer, a great venue which has managed to keep its head above water through Covid. It is worth booking a table and enjoying good food and drink and a great atmosphere. Another great Adelaide venue, in North Adelaide, to put on your list to visit.

Order took about 50 mins to be prepared, Chips were cold and the squid portion was not enough and kinda bland. Everyone in our table wes not entirely satisfied with the food. Drinks were reasonably priced, lovely staff and a lovely atmosphere.

Staff were very polite and helpful, the food was great, well cooked and didn't take too long to come out. Gravy was a little runny but that's just my preference. We had a variety of meals on our table and they were all brought out in close timing and all were well cooked and tasty! COVID restrictions were followed and was an all around very enjoyable evening. I held my 21st birthday in the function rooms upstairs. Everything about the night ran smoothly. I loved the ability to organize and schedule timing of different food platters, as well as the chance to structure the bar menu. The bar staff were fabulous and worked efficiently to serve drinks while chatting to guests - nothing was too much trouble. It was wonderful to have the full upstairs space as well as use of the balcony, as it allowed us to spread out throughout the evening. Katie was incredibly helpful in the planning process and we are very grateful to her, Jordan, Olivia and staff. Would definitely use The Archer again for a future function. Many thanks, Anna

Decided to head here with the husband and doggos for Friday drinks. Not the best of evenings consider it was rainy, wet and cold but we made the most of it with a round of beer and gin and tonic - both good. Stuck to hot chips for nibbles which went cold quickly thanks to our outdoor table. Top marks for the pumpkin feta arancini, a tad sweet but complimented the aioli. We both ordered the Halloumi burger - not a great choice mainly because the bun would have been better if left out. Dry and crumbly it kinda ruined the vibe. Might just order the pizza next time..will surely go back on a sunnier evening for drinks and munchies.

I had my 21st birthday at The Archer and it was absolutely amazing. I had my 21st at The Archer on the weekend and wow I couldn't have asked for a better place to have it! Katie and Jordan were both so incredibly helpful throughout the whole process of organising the night and on the night. Jordan always answered any questions I had leading up to the night and made sure everything was exactly how I wanted it. Katie was soooo helpful with helping my family and I set everything up on the night and made sure I always had a drink in my hand ;). She also kept checking up on me throughout the night to make sure I was having the best time (which I was). The bar staff on the night were also so amazing and friendly and let us all be as wild as we were! Food was also delish!! I couldn't recommend this venue enough - definitely a very very great venue to have a function in especially a 21st!

Great tasting selection of wines!! Not enough vegan options. Nice interior. Great private dining area upstairs in 'the Library'. Seemed understaffed- management needs to consider this better. Meals came out extremely staggered, tables needed clearing but only 2 staff to do drinks, bring meals and take orders is not great. Surrounding parking is awful. Paid parking is $2.50 per HALF hour (30 mins) + surcharge and permit parking applies on the surrounding streets in the evenings and on weekends.

Meal tasted great, just quite small. The salmon steak was about 1.5cm slice. Staff are friendly. Nice bar except not enough bar staff so have to wait for quite some time for a drink (8pm Wed night). Overall it's ok, Would go again if invited, but wouldn't make it a destination where I have a choice.

A pretty good pub! I'm so glad they haven't ruined the place by extracting the innards and making it into a travesty like so many other soulless empty-shell pubs. I always love it when old pubs retain their irreplaceable hand-made staircases. To be supported and applauded always! Plus they have a pool-table!

The food and drinks are probably the cheapest in Nth Adelaide. Keep an eye out for the food and drink specials during the week. $10 schnitzels on Wednesdays. $8 pizza's on Thursday. Bar staff are awesome too and the portion and value for food is outstanding.

The $15 lunch meals are great value and very tasty. My family and I sharred a Thai chicken curry, the squid salad and a mini mixed grill and they all came out promptly, well presented, nice and hot and the lady who served us was lovely and very personable.

Was given a chicken parmigiana which was very nice. Didn't have a chance to tell them that my order was wrong. Halfway through my meal they came out and were very apologetic as they had realised they had messed up my order. They gave them the sauce on the side . Although I'll admit, it is definitely the best schnitzel I have had.

Absolute paradise for all beer lovers. They have a wide selection of rotating craft beers on tap. In their food department, try your luck with the lunch specials as they dish up a pretty mean meal for quite a reasonable price. Outside of the lunch specials, prices are similar to dinner prices.

I put in an online booking request on Friday, 16th August with a note about it being my wife's and I 3-rd anniversary. We met on August 19th 2016 at the Archer Hotel and returned (as a surprise to my wife) for dinner. I mentioned this in my reservation and the kitchen staff went above and beyond to help put together a bunch of flowers, some chocolates and a nice table setting for our booking. The steaks were overcooked, but we looked past this given how busy the venue was and the exceptional detail put into a special evening. Thank you very much, we look forward to many more date nights at The Archer in the future.
