Just held youngest daughter's 21st at the Astor after middle daughter 3 1/2 years ago. Belated as COVID struck so had to delay a month. Astor staff very accommodating with rescheduling. Once again great venue, friendly staff, great food and a fantastic night. Highly recommended for functions.

Cheap, simple food: Staff are good and bar is fine. Food is cheap but not amazing. If you're not looking for something fancy you can get a rump steak for $13. They don't have a huge selection, don't expect eye fillet. It's not terrible, just don't expect a foodies paradise.

The general crowd this place seems to attract is unfavourable, but that's bearable when there's an all-day $10 menu with some pretty decent and delicious options. I recommend the steak sandwich. Though on the other hand, they also once offered an rather inauthentic yet delicious burrito/enchilada (I forget which) on their mains menu, which seems to no-longer exist, so that's of great disappointment and almost drops this rating down to three stars (lucky Google doesn't allow half stars, rounding up).

Good food and desserts. Would certainly recommend for a casual lunch. Attended an event for about 40pax, the service was good, with sharing platters for appetisers, main course (grilled salmon or steak with salad and mixed potatoes), and dessert platters. Enjoyed it.

We had a group of 30 people for staff drinks and a 3 course dinner in the Atrium Room. Everything ran smoothly. The room looked great, the food was amazing and everyone left full & satisfied. All our food came out at the same time which was great. We had our own private bar and personal bar staff which was amazing. The staff were great. A really special mention to our waitress Paige , she was an absolute delight. She was friendly, professional and we all absolutely loved her … she made our night. I highly recommend Astors function services to anyone who is considering booking.

I was lucky enough to have a joint 30th birthday party with my best friend at the Astor this month, and I would strongly encourage them for any functions! The staff are incredibly friendly, the service is fantastic and the food is delicious. Not to mention the way they handled the change of restrictions in current events was so professional. Also, the new renovations in the Atrium are gorgeous! As an added bonus, they also care about sustainability so they definitely get an extra tick for that! Thanks for a great night all :)

Very impressed with their $10 specials. There is a good variety on the menu but we decided on chargrilled rump steak which was cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth and the salad was so fresh, obviously made to order and not kept in the fridge all day and the chips were nice and crunchy just the way I like them. We also ordered the cheese burger which again was cooked perfectly. The portions were more than ample and we actually couldn't finish everything on the plate. Our waitress was lovely and friendly and the place was exceptionally clean which I appreciated. Great job Chef please keep up the good work. Definitely recommend to people to come here and will make sure we come back as at these prices and quality of food why bother cooking at home.

Went there for a function last night and was disappointed in the attitudes of the staff. Very unfriendly and couldn't even put a smile on their faces. Also got told by one of them that if i lean on the bar one more time, im going to be refused service. What the? Really put a damper on the evening...

Food and service was good. Little expensive with all the "add ons". Was just disappointed when entertainment card not accepted due to Covid. Everyone is doing it tough. Have been to other pubs who provide the discount and don't redeem the voucher to ensure return visits. As they support me, I will support them first. Sorry Astor.

We had our son’s 21st in the Astoria room upstairs. Cannot rave enough about the food, service, staff and the owners. They made the process simple easy and smooth. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Had a function in "THE ATRIUM ROOM", it was high quality and tasty food however the service was definitely lacking. The bar staff and waitresses were not enthusiastic or overly polite, and did not provide some people with the beverages they had requested. The room is quirky and has various interesting features to move away from the 'typical' function room. However, the roof did leak in some places. The bathrooms connected to the function room, however they were very basic and standard. Enjoyed the night, but wont be hosting another function at the venue.
