Great little pub. Friendly atmosphere. Went on seafood night $12 ... was great value! Squid was really nice and the chips nice and crunchy. Battered whiting was nice ..salad on the side was nice and fresh with a tasty balsamic dressing.

These were very good schnitties. It's a small pub, so make sure to book for weekends, staff were nice and the food came out quickly. Really. Loved the garlic bread but the chips needed a bit more seasoning.

What a beautiful hotel!!! Renovated but hasn't lost its old charm and grace. Great menu and all the entries are wonderful, large and reasonably priced. 10 stars to the chef and staff. This place is a gem. We will be back as often as we can.

This place was once our local on a weekly basis when we lived in Freeling. 10 years on we decided to visit again and it felt like the same country pub we knew and loved! The staff were fantastic and the food was delicious with great portions and very reasonably priced. We can’t wait to visit again when we feel like a hearty pub meal!

Having just moved to the area we wandered in for a drink. What a great little place. We have now been back twice on different times of the week for either lunch or dinner. The service is always amazing, the food is beyond amazing. Already looking forward to getting back there soon.

Came for lunch today and was impressed beyond words. Lovely quiet country pub with lots for the mcleods fans to view. Food was delicious....massive compliments to the chef! Staff friendly and welcoming. Prices perfect and quantity of food blew us away! If you want a massive well priced feed then I would highly recommend you get yourself down to the Gungallen Pub. Thanks guys for a lovely experience.

Was there for BBQ lunch on Anzac Day. We were two coaches 100 people. They cooked BBQ sausages,rissoles,steak. Coleslaw, pasta,potato salad ok for lunch. There was a singer and small band

Amazing, well presented meals, very efficient service with delightful staff. This is my favourite eating out venue. You've got to give chicken schnitzel with mushroom sauce, chips and garden fresh salad a try. It is irresistible!!!

Wow! What a great surprise. A good selection of pub meals on the menu. The prices are pretty cheap but the quality certainly isn't. Very friendly staff. This was our first family outing since Covid-19 restrictions were relaxed and we couldn't have chosen a better place. Definitely recommended!

I grew up near Freeling and used go to the old Railway Hotel (Gungellan) since I was a kid and always loved this place. Big THANK YOU to Helen keeping this place the best!

Very enjoyable meal although having previously been for a meal PreCovid, you can definitely notice the difference between before and after Covid unfortunately. Meal quality isn't quite as good as PreCovid but with the much quieter atmosphere and more enhanced layed back country lifestyle feel to it, it kind of makes up for the drop in quality in a way. One thing that hasn't changed at all is the awesome staff there and the fantastic quality of their service. Just as I remembered it from PreCovid times, awesome yet once again. Bookings are essential now these days from what I overheard as even though there was still a couple of empty table's, when a walk in enquired about a table they were informed that unfortunately there was nothing available as they were completely booked out for the evening.

I haven't been that impressed with a meal for years. Properly good. Get your butt down there if you enjoy food. Came away so full I couldn't order another drink after eating. Outstanding service an great price would've paid another $10 for my meal an it wouldn't have changed my opinion. That good, I'll be a regular there from now on.

While the pub is famous for the TV show McLeods Daughters, unfortunately some of the flair is lost inside as the modernisation has drawn it away from the feeling of the show. The food was great, we were there for dinner, I could not fault it and the portion size was more than adequate. Prices were on par for a standard pub meal you would get elsewhere also.

McLeod's fans like me have to visit this place at least once. Came early for dinner, enjoyed the parmi and when I left it was a full house. Basic selection of beers and other drinks as to be expected for a country pub. Definitely a trip down memory lane to be inside this pub.

Fantastic prices and delicious food, and the service is friendly. This pub serves it's town well as a local place to go. I would recommend their seafood selection on the menu. I hear the meat is sourced from local(ish) fishermen, and it's cooked up into some truly wonderful dishes

Absolutely loved my evening at the gungellan hotel pub. It brought back alot of fun memories from the series mclouds daughters and the staff were so so nice and really friendly. Step into the Gungellan Pub out of McLeods Daughters. If you hope to meet Claire McLeod you'll get disappointed, though it would have been nice. Freeling is a nice drive up from Adelaide and can easily be combined with wine tastings in Barossa Valley.

had a very disapointing dinner at this hotel i had a gungellan burger which was dry and some of it was burnt ie some of the bacon i would have thought for 11 dollars u would get more than a tiny bit of lettuce and one slice of tomato no cheese no sauce no mayo and vrry dry un able to eat a fast food burger for a few dollars has more stuff in it i think they should review what goes into a burger like this as it should b a lot better than what was served up to myself i will say the person behind the bar was plesant
