Overall was excellent, staff were great, perfect breeze outside and surprisingly first ever time out at a restaurant with a blackout for a short time. Food was great and first restaurant non Asian that can make dumplings well. Keep up the good work.. :)

This place is fabulous. Despite living in Adelaide CBD and being surrounded by a plethora of pubs who all have the same unoriginal and deep fried menus, we ride out to The Kentish at North Adelaide because it's so good. The staff are easy going and flexible, the menus have healthy items and the food is delicious. The setting is just gorgeous and it makes me sad that the Adelaide City Council have ruined so much of the Adelaide streets and that we now feel it's better being at North Adelaide for a quiet, peaceful and tasty meal. Keep up the good work and the good chef guys.

Cannot recommend this place enough. The waitress was amazing and went above and beyond to make our evening enjoyable. I ordered the prawn and chorizo spaghettini. It was just the right amount of spice and tasted delicious! We will definitely be back!

Stumbled upon this wonderful pub whilst driving the streets on New Years Day for somewhere half decent for dinner! What an amazing surprise... not only a lovely place and friendly staff, but top shelf food. Even on NYD nothing was too difficult. Rare rump salad... one of the tastiest meals I've had. Chilli prawns and char-grilled smoked eggplant for the boss was off the charts. Kids loved sharing the main lasagne.. and all the greens we ordered. What a fantastic way to end a great day! Didn't can't the waitresses name, but our girls kept saying how lovely she was!

A great pub hidden away on a backstreet in a lovely setting in North Adelaide, just off Melbourne Street. A wonderful place to sit out the front, have a beer and just admire the nearby historic cottages and beautiful trees and gardens. Worth the effort to make a trip here. Good range of beers and wines, with a garden out the back and big wine room / shed that looks very enticing when it gets cooler. The residents of the area must be chuffed to have this as their local. Currently they have a happy hour from 3-5pm weekdays and 4-6pm on weekends it seems. Plus other events and deals.

The wine shed was a perfect venue for our wedding reception. All our guests were blown away by the room set-up. It looked incredible! We recently had our wedding at The Kentish Hotel in the Wine Shed and can't thank them enough for everything they did for us! Milly, and the rest of the staff, were incredible to deal with and went above and beyond. The food on the day, as well as the many meals we had there leading up to the big day, were always delicious. The venue has a great atmosphere and many of our guests commented on how beautiful it is. Highly recommend the Kentish whether its for a function, a meal or just a for a drink!

Wide range of choices: Either select a number of small serves to share or a lot of one or two just for you. Alternatively select a meal according to traditional preferences. An excellent choice of beers, wines or spirits to add to the meal, to act as a palate cleanser or alone. We also had dessert and coffee to complete a special meal. We began with an appetiser plus sparkling water, chose beer or wine to add to our meals, then completed the meal, as stated, with dessert and coffee. The service was discrete, informative and yet attentive. The decor was warm and inviting. We will definitely come again.

It's a great location, a great and big space, very good atmosphere, good people in the service area. What is not good, the food. Not the first time we had bad experience. We ate 5 different foods, none of them were even good. If I invested this place, i would replace (upgrade) the chef. This place deserves good food.

I can only say the meal I had was underwhelming at $30. Stuffed chicken breast...sounded great on the menu but the actuality was meagre and overcooked. Those members of our group who went for regular pub fare....fish and chips, calamari and the like fared much better....generous serves, well cooked and attractively presented. They've upped the decor since we were there last. New carpets and repainting. Wouldn't rush back.

The atmosphere is amazing. We got the lamb cutlets, chicken and pork dumplings and the haloumi which all were perfect. For the mains we got the stuffed chicken breasts with prosciutto which was perfect. The Vietnamese salad was nice. Cit was missing coriander. Lastly we got the prawn and chorizo spaghetti Bolognese which was awful. The pasta tasted and felt like it was a heinz can pooped into the bowl. I did advise the waitress and I hope I just got a bad meal. The service was perfect l from all the wonderful ladies working there. Clearing of the tables was quick and friendly and a great chat when we got more drinks. The dark hair male could learn to smile and grunt less.

Food, beer and staff are all really great, but the pub doesn't really have any soul. It's white and dull. I was looking forward to visiting the Kentish for quite a while and it rather leaves you wanting. For such a historic hotel it's a pity there is none of it on display.

Just had another amazing meal including wine delivered to our home. We had piping hot delicious chicken parmigiana that melted in the mouth and the most tender salt and pepper calamari, all meals served with crispy fresh salad and chips. Keep up the good work!

Can’t recommend the Kentish highly enough as a function venue. We had a party for 100 people. The food was great. The options for the bar were flexible. The room hire is reasonable for the beautiful space. Most importantly the staff are wonderful, professional and accommodating. Thankyou Ayla and team for making our night so much fun and so easy.

April 2017 I've been here a few times since the last review. The food has been great everytime. The service also has been warm and welcoming which has brought me back a few times. 2016 The venue has undergone a nice reno since the last time I was there. The staff were happy and helpful. The food was good but not amazing. They only have one gravy which I thought was pretty poor. The only real disappointment was that we all ordered under the same table number, but there was a 10 minute wait between meals coming out which meant my food was cold by the time my friends arrived. I would go back.

Decline is starting to happen. Inattentive staff, same old same old things on the menu with only a few changes. Inclined to go less as not a lot of changes. Food is good but not great. Good for a quick meal but not a dining experience. Schnitzels are way too big to eat so lots of wastage too.

Came on a Sunday afternoon and sat outside in the shade. We ordered the charcuterie and cheese board at $40. Bit let down as I found the meats on the board were not as fresh as I would have liked, but overall not bad for the price. We had a bottle of Estandon Rose at $45 which is a bit pricey. The staff were lovely and friendly and would recommend people to try this place out in beautiful North Adelaide.

Love the atmosphere and it is close to the boyfriends house so do love going there. The food though is mixed. Some lovely dishes but often something is wrong with it. Last time was the home made gnocchi with ragu, for $26 it was a small serve with not much meat and the gnocchi was over cooked. Disappointing when you pay, what I consider, big bucks for a smallish plate of unsatisfactory food.

Lovely venue, my complaint unfortunately is the serves of ATLANTIC SALMON as pictured are extremely tiny, every meal except Salmon at our table was a good size, which equalled proportion to the salad and chips.

On the 16th January, we arrived late for dinner and were gratefully served even though the kitchen was just about to close. What the staff didn't know was we were out for a quick meal while a family member was in palliative care at a nearby hospital. It was bitter sweet. Here we were enjoying one of the best meals we had ever had (reminding us what life is all about) and yet our situation was devestating to say the least. My hubby who orders a Chicken Parmigina at 'every opportunity' said it was one of the best he had ever had. Giving it a 10/10 and even making the effort to personally thank the chef (i think even surprising the chef with his thanks!). My Lamb Backstrap topped any 5 star meal that I have ever had. Something about the fresh mix of flavours that I just couldn't get enough of and the lamb cooked to absolute perfection. Sarah who served us at the bar was an absolute gem in service and personality. Sarah even went out of her way to help me choose a nice glass of wine, offering a tasting to help with my choice. What we know could of been an extremely stressful evening out, was rewarded with such bestowing hospitality.

Great venue, whether it be for the live music in the shed with its own bar, the cosy front bar with atmosphere, intimate restaurant dining with a great food selection or if you just want to sit street side and relax in the sun all complimented by staff who are happy to see you and serve you.
