Alba is a tucked away tapas bar down Burnett lane. The owner, Jamie, served us personally. He is an ex-master chef contestant and extremely passionate in what he does. The food was exceptional, we tried several tapas from their scallops, to croquette, black sausage and rump steak. Everything tasted superb and we will definitely be back the next time we are in Brisbane. It reminded us of a Melbourne laneway restaurant, except in Brissy. Definitely try as many dishes as you can, you won't regret it!

So the tiny beers threw me for a moment, never been served a beer that tiny anywhere before lol but it was very nice, the service was impeccable and the food was divine. The olives in the pasta were so incredibly delicious I was very pleased that they had jars for sale so I could take some home. The sandwiches look amazing too. I'd like to come back during the day to try those. All up a very pleasant experience. + Bonus points for the bread to mop up my plates 👍

Awesome tapas and spanish wine. Delicious food and casual atmosphere. Menu range is great. Fresh oysters, tasty preserved food and great main. Wine recommenfations were good too. Conveniently located in CBD. Will return to taste more of their food and wine.

This place is a hidden gem in the Brisbane CBD. My wife and I were looking for a new place to try on a Friday night and this was a recommendation from a work colleague. Alba had a great laid back atmosphere. The food in this place was ridiculously tasty, definitely up there with the best food we’ve had. The service was great and they had a great wine and drinks selection. Definitely a place to try in Brisbane.

If you like nooks, visit Burnett Lane's Albar Bar and treat your tastebuds to some unpretentious, flavour packed food, knocked back with a well made cocktail, plus. The server wasn't pushy and patiently answered why these mussels tasted nothing like store bought. Yep, im one of those ppl who thinks some more things should be on a shelf. The Steak Frites was a gamble; if only casinos were easy to win at. The meat is theatre and substance. The char gave some texture and then gave way leaving my teeth having to settle for chomping on chips. Price was great and the menu options offered some interesting combinations. The quick service and drink making prowess of the server could sink some cash into the bar.

It’s always a pleasure to stumble upon somewhere like Alba! I went for a drink after work where the other 2 people had already eaten a late long lunch so I had to myself oysters, a croquette and a scallop which were all fantastic! The waiters were amazing - particularly the curly haired one who took me on a 4 course wine journey and the one wearing a backwards cap and Hawaiian shirt who I think is the owner. They were so passionate and so knowledgeable and I will definitely be back this week!

We went to Alba after drinks next door and my goodness, I'm glad we did! We ordered five plates of various sizes and everything was incredible! The croquetas and beef tatare were the best we have ever had! We are already planning to return

When I was 17, my Dad took me drinking Sydney. Obviously, illegal, but great. The purpose of the trip was business but, really, it was so he could take me to his favourite restaurant, El Capitan Y Torres, now closed, unfortunately. Sitting here, eating at Alba, takes me back to that night, eating sardines with my dad and dropping half one on my satchel, staining it forever. The food is perfectly cooked, prepared and paired, each course having a sherry, readily available, that will lift the dish to another extreme of flavour and all you have to do is ask the question. Just do it. Comes out quick, goes down easy and won't bust the bank. Do it, you coward.

Well.. quirky little place. Waitress was friendly.. maybe didn't know the cocktail menu very well. Quite expensive for what we received. Some $14 cocktails but others at $21. For that price I expect a very good drink. Wasn't so. Took 15 minutes to get the drinks as well, it wasn't busy. Didn't try the food but I understand the deli is exceptional. Music was on point.

Currently running the best steak tartare in Brisbane (have been for months tbh). If you haven't tried blood sausage then do yourself a favour and order one from Alba. Oh, and while you're there can you please ask them to pop the mortadella and soft poached egg dish back on? Ta. Probably best soundtrack in Brisbane too. Ok, let's be honest, definitely best soundtrack in Brisbane.

Great bar service! After trying to go next door to Death & Taxes (which was more intense than entering OZ from NZ) we ended up at Alba. Staff were excellent, funny and helpful. If we return to Brisbane we would definitely go back. Thanks guys! 👍

Food is really good, the white anchovies are amazing. Risotto is one of the best I've had in Brisbane. I would have given this a 5star if not for the following: the portion size is very ungenerous and the beer glass is very cheekily small Service is very slow even though it was a quiet weeknight. And i didn't like how they charged extra for butter when the menu and the boss have both stated that the tapas come with bread and butter. Bread is also overrated.

During these tough times of social distancing. Found this great restaurant bar open for takeaway only. Had great tapas and chatted to owner. Great to see these places still open in inner brisbane Burnett lane. Will defiantly be back during these times and later. Take away cocktails were great.

Nice little laneway bar with delicious tapas and a good range of drinks. Laid back and positive vibe and staff are really friendly and helpful. Recommend the chorizito and lamb pies. Stats getting busy on Fridays from around 6pm so get there early if you want a table. Otherwise just hang around the decent sized bar.

A tad late writing this review but my partner and I celebrated our anniversary at Alba in October and boy was it divine! The staff are clearly VERY passionate about what they do and the food and wine (thank you for the perfect pairing suggestions!) was incredible. No doubt will be going back again!

If you like food, if you like wine, if you like cocktails, if you like laneway bars that effortlessly over-deliver. There's a good chance you're gonna like Alba. Ran by a hospo veteran who knows exactly what's going on, on plate or palate, this place will not disappoint. There's a certain buzz that's hard to put your finger on. The kind that you feel when you've just happened on in to somewhere special. This has it. These words are all nothing without saying their menu is superb! It took me a year to get here. The next visit will be much sooner.

After a walk around the Botanica exhibition at the Gardens Point, was looking for a little jamon and a Pedro Ximénez. This little gem in Burnett Lane was exactly what we were looking for. A funky vibe reminiscent of a small Spanish bar. Wonderful selection of cocktails, Spanish sherries and tapas. Great service from Jamie, Cal and Sam. Shall be returning soon.

Wow. I considered myself an an experienced High quality Bar goer, but this took me to a new level. Shawn took me on a journey where everything was absolutely out of my experience level. It was so fun to ride the journey of flavours and be educated on the new trends and ideas to what wine and food can be. These guys you gotta go see for a great experience where you don't have to think but can be whisked away on a journey. It has been quite an eye opener to realise this. Thanks for a great night. If you've ever been on a $50-a-day anchovy habit this is the place for you! Don't freak out; Jamie's anchovies on toast will set you back less than $25, and thats for the whole can with all it's oil & umami funk! Sharing reviews for a joint like this is the epicurean equivalent of when you rode 1/2 way across the suburb as a child to tell you're friend you'd seen a frog... No really. Nobody mentioned the Jamon butter yet; reduced Iberico fat (Jamie won't be wasting any fat; its going to be incorporated with you're mayo, butter, whatever.) with whiskey whipped through Pepe-saya?!?! I went here on my 3rd last day of our tour. I went back every other day... Sometimes twice. The vibe and service are great. The food is even better. And anyone who doesn't reach for the coffee machine when you say "Make me an Americano" is a hero of mine.
