This place has a really nice atmosphere for a few drinks and food. We tried a few of the snack plates to share as the main menu was about to finish at 8pm and was also much smaller than the one on their website. They were all tasty enough but nothing fantastic. The sangria jugs tasted good but were very watered down so not great value for money.

I’ve been there twice in the last week, breakfast and lunch with tables of 8 and 9… they are brilliant… I missed the name of the bloke this morning but Lilly served us last week and the service is faultless and they were so flexible fitting us in both times… the food is excellent. (I totally rate the hash browns served on the side of the brekky burger) great beers and coffee. Excellent place in every way…

The breakfast here is delicious! The coffee was perfect, the meals are reasonably priced and are a great size to fill you up! I ordered the Israeli Mushrooms (pictured) and it we excellent. Unlike a lot of breakfast places these days; you get two pieces of toast, two eggs and plenty of mushrooms all for a fair price. My family and I throughly enjoyed our meals and I’m sure we will all be back again soon :-)

Came for lunch... But wish I came here everyday. The salmon... Just try it. The yuzu pearls it comes with just adds a bonus element to the already delicious fish. The surprise dish was the cauliflower. Didn't think I'd enjoy it, but the pomegranate and the sauce really brought it to life. Then, there's the dessert... Think, childhood nightmare meets dessert. The dropped ice cream cone meets fine dining, and is plated like art. Seriously, this place surprised me 😊.

nice big open space bar. we came here for sunday lunch and enjoyed it having jugs of pimms. they have a breakfast and lunch menu. we had the mac’n’cheese nuggets and the vegetarian pappardelle pasta. it said vegan for the pappardelle but it came with cheese on top so but sure if it was vegan cheese as it didn’t say in the description. definitely worth checking out.

If your menu has limitations during certain hours, please advertise these on your menu. I was in the area, specifically looking for somewhere that could do an early dinner that would be able to turn something around for us quickly. I found your establishment was open, had a quick look at the menu ahead of time, and made a beeline for it seeing you’d be able to hit the spot with a good range of food for the diners in our group. As I arrived I let the staff know on arrival we were pushed for time and hoped to order straight away. She mentioned the dinner menu wasnt available till 5pm and that bar snacks were available. :(. I asked for some recommendations of what could be turned around quickly for us and if they could do takeaway if we ran out of time to eat. In the end our meals were delivered in about 15mins which was acceptable but only just. That being said, the food was good and the service was really friendly. I greatly appreciate you working with our shortage of time. And for offering packaging for the rest of our food to takeaway. The only thing you really need to do is advertise the hours limitation on your menu. We will be back but I’ll ring ahead to order next time. :)

The thing that most disappoints me about this place is they don't let you order until everyone on your table is ready to order. We have a group of 10-20 gather on Wednesday nights and people arrive at staggered times. We choose pubs without table service so we can rock up whenever we finish work, order food at the bar , take a table number and eat when our food arrives without waiting for others to show up. Beyond The Pale has everything set up for that but they don't allow it. Consequently we don't go there on Wednesday nights despite quite liking the atmosphere. Apparently the steak is fantastic but substantial vegetarian meal options are limited. The margherita pizza is always ordinary. The crust is basic and the sauce is dry and tasteless. Twice they've forgotten to put basil on it and I've had to remind them. It's a place that could be great but just isn't.

I don’t usually write reviews but felt compelled to after having lunch at Beyond the Pale today. The food was delicious (I recommend their vegan burger for any plant based folk out there) and the venue was super chilled and relaxed but the outstanding customer service was the stand out!! We were served by Craig who was so friendly, provided amazing service and really went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. Thank you so much, we’ll definitely be back!!!

I go here often with my puppy. He is always welcomed and offered a puppuccino when I get my coffee in the mornings. There is always a fresh bowl of water for the dogs to drink from. I also take him when I go for a beer or dinner in the evenings and always find a nice spot outside. The food is always fresh and taste amazing. The staff are all friendly, morning and night. Definitely a 10/10 if you looking to go somewhere with your pup.

This place is amazing. The atmosphere is absolutely stunning. If you dont like a loud atmosphere then this isnt the place for you most of the time. The food is excellent, its all expertly prepared and very fast to arrive. The variety of beers on tap really helps to enhance the experience along with their variety of other drinks, that alcoholic or otherwise. Overall, an amazing bar and restaurant, will definitely be visiting many times in the future. :)

Nice little pub in Coorparoo Square. Gets busy on Friday night and the weekend so get in early. Lots of drinks on offer and a busy kitchen turning out tasty fare. Dog friendly too. Give it a crack!

As my local, I really want to like Beyond the Pale, I really do. I even left a 5 star review a year ago to be kind but have since deleted it because I can't stand by it. While the food is quite nice, it's very expensive, as are the drinks. That's fine though, I like to support local. Unfortunately, my enthusiasm for supporting my local is hardly ever reciprocated by the staff. The bar staff aren't trained in advising on beers, wines etc, instead giving a confused look or flat out saying they don't know anything about it when asked. This is frankly weird for a high end pub. Secondly, when you regularly go to, and spend a lot of money in an establishment, it's nice to have your smile met with another smile and some professional courtesy or customer engagement. This hardly ever happens. Having my plate of food plonked in front of me by someone with a sour face or being met at the door by staff members who make me feel as if I'm inconveniencing them makes me feel awkward and uncomfortable. I feel your staff need to be shown the Fish Philosophy training manual quite honestly.

We came for drinks on a Wednesday night, a lovely bar with a nice aesthetic and great cocktails. Some nice beers on tap but nothing spectacular. Google said they were open until 10:30 but by the time we arrived at around 9 we felt as though the staff didn't want us there and were getting ready to close, even though the place was full. I'd suggest they update their opening hours as we would never want to irritate the staff by arriving when they're about to close, but we thought we had a lot more time.

Busy place on the day we went but food and drinks came out quickly considering. Food was good although they serve it in those silly baskets that are annoying to eat out of. I had the BYP burger which was really good. We also had the battered fish which was very heavy on the batter but wasn’t overly oily so was ok. Burger is a better bet. Team was good and it has a nice feel about the place.

Amazing atmosphere and filled with staff who always have a smile on their face (especially the barista). I feel the food is slightly overpriced (although delicious), but you are paying for the atmosphere and setting so it makes sense. Best cocktails in the area, and would highly recommend at least visiting once.

Food was great! Plenty of fun beers to try, and a lovely wine selection too. We were completely satiated with only a main each and a starter between two. But there's plenty more we want to try. It's also located super conveniently. Gelato right across the causeway and within 100m of a major bus station if you want to leave the car at home for a bit of a session. Theoretically walking distance to the train station too, if you don't mind a leisurely stroll.

However, partner was disappointed in the pasta dish for dinner due to small size and lacked flavour. Pity you cannot book a table for dinner as first in first served, hate to turn with a group and no free tables. And yes we have called to double check. But a great place to have in Coorparoo! I have come in twice now, and both times the food has been amazing. The chefs are on the money here. This is however the only reason I am giving this place 5 stars. The service that my group received is only what I could call "sub par". But, I noticed a table of young women being "swooned" over by one particular "waiter". If this guy is the face of your business, I'd dare say it needs a face lift, as those young girls referred to him as a "creep", after he walked away. And then they left soon after. We will return, as we love the food and atmosphere created here guys. Don't let a bad apple spoil the pie.

I am not normally one to write reviews but I felt I had to. Two things. No 1. To the young man who served us and made us our coffee. Spectacular service and beautifully made coffee. No 2. Hopefully next time we are in. There will be less language coming from the kitchen. My friends and I don’t need to hear the F word being yelled as we enjoy our coffee. Not a good look. We’ll be back provided it’s without the offensive language. Five Stars for the coffee though.

Great atmosphere, furnishings and service. Fantastic place for drinks and a catch up and some finger food. The food however was a tale of crime and punishment - my $20 burger was a thin frozen patty sentenced to hard labour in a prison of mustard, with a 20 cent piece sized piece of bacon as it's cell mate. Ultimately, the kind of burger that could be served at a Bunnings car park, not shoe horned into a tuxedo and forced to play the part of a restaurant quality burger, it's more suited to a pair of trackie dacks in front of the tv. Chips were and an under cooked frozen affair, my partners fish drowned in lemon before dying a dismal and bland death on her plate. Great staff and a top place for a pint, but anything other than a post beer nosh will leave you wanting.

Beyond the Pale saved Coorparoo from total boredom and self destruction. No more City/Valley trips just for quiet drink or heading to the pub for a generic chicken parmi while being surrounded by poker machines. The location is fantastic and the food I've tried was very yummy (the death wings aren't for the faint hearted) The bar staff are friendly and seem to enjoy what they're doing. All in all I can't fault this place im stoked it's my local. Keep up the good work guys.

First time here and a bit average in certain things firstly tap beer menu is okay with a few locals and some other mixed stuff not especially adventurous but ok. Pricing isnt cheap for drinks but that's normal for places like this my biggest issue was with the food we tried to order some things off their late menu at just after 8.40 only to be told that the kitchen was closing this was on a Friday night with a full house after some coaxing they agreed to do some chips and a cheese platter but the wings were a step to far this wasnt even off the dinner menu it was off the late menu. In other cities in this country you can get a full 3 couse meal at 11pm but here in Brisbane you can struggle to get anything much after 9.

A group of five of us went in to have dessert here on the 15th of January. We ordered three serves of the waffles and chocolate, and two of the peanut butter and white chocolate slice. Upon eating the latter, I did not detect any peanut butter, nor coffee flavours and wondered which part was the white chocolate slice. I enjoyed the dessert, and finished it in no time. Afterwards I read the dessert menu, and realised we had been served the parfait instead of the chocolate slice. I asked the friendly waiter about this, who checked our orders, spoke with the front staff and the kitchen and assured me we were given the chocolate slice, however said that there was a new assistant in the kitchen who may have mixed up the elements of the dessert. He had not agreed that we were given the parfait, and offered no other recourse. I wish I had have questioned the dessert on my plate before finishing it, as afterwards I had no proof of the mistake. I have never had this happen before, anywhere, so am a bit puzzled.

The long awaited hub of coorparoo is here. Very much enjoying Coorparoo square as a whole, but even happier with the new bar that has come along with it. Beyond the Pale, although only open for a few weeks, has ticked a lot of my boxes. Portion size and value for money ✔️ Tasty meals ✔️ Quality beers for price (pretty cheap) ✔️ Friendly staff ✔️ Ups and downs along the way, but overall a great place for dinner and drinks before a movie (there’s a DENDY cinema!) Expect bigger wait times at peak periods, but that doesn’t compromise the quality of the food! Beyond the Pale is now my new local!!

had the rib eye steak I wore a medium was one of the nice pink line just threw the Middle Ages suggested the medium rare I will say this medium round look like you have been cook for 10 seconds on each side the tomatoes weren't cooked at all vegetables would just plants Underwood do think that they need to knock some of the fence in as out of their meals and actually learn to cook them a little bit better or more to the description of what's on the menu other than that the atmosphere wasn't too bad for the guy that was taking menu seem to be more interested in hitting on women at the bar yeah atmosphere here is not the greatest and might be when there's meat live music plan but unfortunately it seems like there's little groups that kongregate different areas there's no conversation between other tables or whatnot nevertheless it is a nice place in its look but will it last probably not it's only a matter of time before they realise that they need to keep customers with the food so they drink afterwards I'm just come there to have a quiet drink and leave thank you guys I appreciate it
