Amazing steak! Compliments to the steak chef! Cooked perfectly. Sides plenty to share. Dutch potatoes are a must. They are pre wrapped in food clay to produce perfect consistency and flavour. Running beans with feta and truffle topping just Compliments the dish. Dessert was the pavlova which was perfectly presented and a tart rhubarb sorbet within to finish off a luscious meal. Well worth the money, certainly get what you pay for. All set within a beautiful setting and a lovely view of Story Bridge. Highly recommend dining here. 5 stars from me.

Steak “1000” GUINEAS AUSTRALIAN SHORTHORN was beautifully cooked, really enjoyed it. I wanted to say it's so far the best I have ever had. Well done chef! GRILLED BARRAMUNDI, my husband and I didn't like it. BUTTERMILK FRIED QUAIL was nice, my 18 month daughter liked it, so did we. Fries was way too salty. I wonder if they have accidentally turned over the salt-cellar.

The blackbird was an exceptional establishment, the lady staff member we had tending to our table was an absolute gem she had all our needs taken care of, just so thoughtful and had lovely suggestions for sauces and entrees, the food was next level above and beyond so we're the drinks they were just made right, all in all an excellent venue with a very very nice view at night of the story Bridge. We gave our server a $100 tip for the excellent service she had provided throughout the night, and had a few more beverages on the outdoor deck after dinner, superb.

Very inadequate service and meals were not amazing Entree was basically cherry tomato. Mains slab of Barra or lamb rump, dessert… We couldn’t get served a drink and we were meant to have wine at the tables and a bar tab So disappointed I was really looking forward to this

Excellent meal, the oysters which were shucked to order were superb. One of my wife’s favourites when we eat out is duck breast and it just happened to the special on our visit, she was over the moon, I had the sirloin with Paris butter sauce, very very tasty and nicely cooked. The waitstaff were very attentive without being over the top. A very enjoyable pleasant experience.

Wow! We went here for a corporate dinner and it was amazing. Food, staff and venue were all on point. I have not eaten food this good since I travelled overseas. Fantastic range of wines and cocktails. The wait staff were great could not do more to help.

Impeccable service. Fantastic food. I came here for a special night with my Sparkly lady friend 💖. We were absolutely stunned with the incredible view! We ordered the coleslaw, the tomato salad and the 500g rump from 1000 guinea farm. The meal was awesome, steak was rare, but still delicious, though we asked for medium. The salads were really well made with gorgeous sauces. For dessert we had the cheesecake which was sooo good.

Unlikely we would come back. To be charged for ‘still water’ that you are asked if you would like still or sparking when seated is absolutely ridiculous, not to mention it’s the same price as a glass of soft drink. I’ve never been to any restaurant in my years of travelling that charge you for water (not to mention that they ask which you would like) my crab was amazing! My barramundi was great, my partners steak however he was extremely disappointed with for a $60+ steak it was undercooked and didn’t melt in your mouth. Service was great however towards the end of us wanting to pay I had to ask twice to pay and for the bill - we’re basically ignored after our mains arrived. View was stunning. Chairs were comfy.

We dined at Blackbird for a special occasion recently. It was our first visit. The view was lovely , far better than the steak which I ordered and which was very disappointing. For $45 ( not including sauce) one would expect a 'melt in your mouth' piece of meat( as it usually is at these types of establishments) ...but it was the opposite! The meat I get from the local supermarket is usually far better and at a much lower price. It was very disappointing to say the least. However, my partner's steak, a different type was excellent. The sides were nice and the service was very good. For the price they charge EVERY steak should melt in your mouth. Would I go back again ? Not likely.

With a view like this with a cocktail while waiting for your table I highly suggest Blackbird Bar & Grill..The food is absolutely amazing, we had the white lamb loin and honestly it melted in your mouth. It was so juicy and tender, cooked to perfection. For our sides we had the beans and creamy baked potato which are also just as delicious as our main. The staff are amazing, friendly and so attentive, they ensure everything is perfect as perfection is their aim. This is the 2nd time we have been there and we will be back again for sure. The view towards the story bridge is amazing and the atmosphere is romantic and intimate. If you ever want to impress, take your date here. For the price of the food it is well worth it, you can't beat quality and is worth every dollar. Fine dining at it's best.

Amazing views and great vibe. Food was delicious but a little pricey so not a venue for people on a budget. Downside was our table was uneven and needed to be propped up with cork as did the diners either side of us, we were also charged $8 for tap water?? All in all a good experience though.

Great place for dinner, wine and desserts on Eagle Street Pier with a beautiful view of the Story Bridge. Love the decor, amazing service and of course delicious, quality food!. Oh and their wine menu is super extensive and the waiters are always happy to give their recommendation. Been here a couple times for dinner, birthday dinner, girls night and when I wanted to surprise my best friend who was in Brisbane for her birthday and Blackbird was more than happy to accommodate my request at the last minute. Couldn’t be happier. Keep it up! Ps go to the restaurant over bar especially on the weekends for a better service as it can get very loud at the bar.

My partner & I had our wedding menu trial last night at Blackbird, to say we were impressed is an understatement. From the second we walked in the doors of the beautiful restaurant we were blown away. Our host was extremely attentive without hovering & super friendly & professional. For our wedding menu we decided on the "feasting package" for our guests. We only got a taster of what's to come on the evening. First up we had the yellowtail kingfish & Buttermilk Quail for our entrees. My partner isn't a seafood fan but he LOVED the yellowtail, as did i. Next up for main we had the lamb shoulder, holy hell that was incredible. The meat was juicy & tender. I am soooo looking forward to our guests experiencing the incredible food Blackbird has to offer!

Blackbird has probably one of the best views of the Storey Bridge at night. They have an amazing restaurant that's is separate to the bar making it a very relaxing environment to dine in. If it's your first time dining here I highly recommend the suckling pig. I was very impressed by the waiters and loved how they were able to express their personalities while being very professional.

Good dining experience. Beef fillet good but not outstanding. The kangaroo is also good. The seafood share plate is ok, I think better oysters could be sourced. These oysters were pretty average. The wait service was top notch, very professional but friendly and efficient.

We had our first visit to Blackbird in January and the service was first class from the welcome when we arrived till our departure. The menu has a wide variety of meat and fish dishes but not so much vegetarian options, however the eggplant dish was sublime and there are a wide range of vegetarian side dishes to choose. We were seated by a window so we had great views of the Storey Bridge and Brisbane River. The meals were fantastic and reasonably priced considering the quality and surroundings. The staff asked the reason for our visit and when they found out it was my wife’s birthday they brought out a birthday desert for her which was a really nice touch. If you haven’t been here you should try it, we’ll be back again in the near future. Five stars!

What an experience! The Receptionist, the Kitchen staff and the Waiters are all absolute professionals. You are welcomed by the Chefs and Kitchen staff as you walk by, the Waiters overheard it was our anniversary and decorated our dessert with an anniversary plaque in chocolate, what a lovely surprise. Arrived 30 mins early, checked in with the restaurant and they noted we could either go straight in or have some drinks at the bar looking over the river first. Had a drink out at the bar and relaxed. Came back for dinner and shown to our table. Bridge views was a great position. Presentation of table was good with everything set out well. Offered water and drinks first up. Gave us time to select carefully. Drinks were put together ok, they need a little more refinement, finesse in drink construction and presentation. Main meal was dinner, both meals paired well with condiments on offer. Steak was med rare and cooked almost perfectly. I would say the steak was a 4 out of 5. Not rested enough or turned when should have been left to sit. Just slightly dry. Both mains 5 out of 5 presentation. Sides were nice but presentation was a 4 out of 5. Dessert was the show stopper, presented really well. Taste profile was an explosive treat packed with flavor. Restaurant wise I feel some care in the decor needs to be taken with our dessert cutlery a little tarnished and not quite there. Restaurant presentation generally was ok with an intimate table placement. I'd like to see options when booking online as to.where you can sit. Toilets were not quite on point. Clean enough but in need of more regular attention just for the finer details you'd expect for the price of admission. Staff all friendly enough but need to smile a bit more. Our table waitress was quite nice. The little details with smiling, quick to move plates on (even if it's not your table), finesse on the smaller ticket items like drinks etc could move this from a must visit place to something really special. The chefs in the kitchen were all friendly and smiled which is great. Some of the wait staff need a little more work. In rounding out, 2 drinks, table water, 2 mains (one a steak meal) and two desserts was $140.00 for two people. Worth a visit but a must to book ahead.

We’ve visited Black Birds a few times now, and as usual the service and food were exceptional! By far the best restaurant in Brisbane. However this time we decided to start with a few drinks at the bar first. This was a huge disappointment! An absolute pit of sleazy drunk old men (at 5pm). Either cut the bar away or expect the same standards as your restaurant. Fantastic view just poor standards and expectations from security and staff.

A last minute booking for a Friday lunch with my wife, they found us a window table with a view across the river. Service was top quality and attentive as usual. The seafood platter to share was beautifully fresh & tasty. We both had the Dry Aged Burrawong Duck for our main which is a recent addition to the menu, it was superb, succulent & flavoursome. We shared a Banoffee pie for dessert which was also delicious, all in all a great long Friday afternoon lunch.

Blackbird Bar & Grill is fantastic all in one venue, pre - dinner Cocktail list is extensive, with great views over the river and to Story Bridge lit up in its finery. Whilst we were in the Champagne Room in a private party, the service was imoeccable and could not be faulted, the food had no complaints from anyone in our group-( that I'm aware of). The steaks were cooked to our liking, my favourite was the Kingfish entree, but i did try the quail and Celeriac- that too was superb, and we all loved the deserts. As a lover of duck.... My mouth salivated of the thought of seeing those curing ducks in the cabinet, each time I walked to the bathroom, along with the aging steaks. I will have to.return to try that dish on the menu. Then there was the bathroom beauty to admire in all her fine intricate mosaics A stunning piece of Artwork. Then you get to adjourn back to the bar for after dinner dancing and partying- a Superb Venue.

Mouth watering food and a fulfilling wine list for even the most selective wine enthusiasts. Make sure you have a reservation and plenty of time for a long lunch or dinner! The view is fantastic and the service lovely and prompt.

For the entreé we had quail it was crisp and delightful the skin was perfectly golden, I was very happy with it; on the other hand the burrata was bland unlike its italian counterpart, it was a bit tawdry. Now onto the mains, the white lamb loin was very tough but juicy although whatever the components on the side were cloyling to the taste. The gnocchi again was extremely bland with practically no taste however I did detect a hint of pecorino. Overall everything tasted like it was drowned in sugar. The service was impeccable the staff were friendly and helpful. I would go again especially for the quail and next time I might try the pork shoulder.

Blackbird is spectacular - the menu, food quality, wine and cocktails, service and decor are all incredible. In fact, I've always thought the term 'Bar and Grill' is a little misleading. It's like saying Lady Gaga has an interesting fashion sense. The menu is a foodie's dream, and usefully able to be varied to suit a given situation. You can choose an entree and main, but if you're having more of a group lunch there are shared options, too. You can always add a seafood platter before your entree, if you like, or add a side or two (pretty spectacular in themselves) if you are feeling particularly peckish or just can't resist. If you are simply after steak and fries, you can get those too: there are about fifteen types of steak on offer and your waiter will be able to tell you the provenance of each. The drinks menu runs to thirty pages and covers everything from beer on tap to some very expensive aged wines and spirits. There is a good selection of wines by the glass, featured wines from the Granite Belt region and a luscious collection of cocktails. Want a grappa or a calvados with your cheese board? No worries. It's very easy to walk out of Blackbird a little tiddly, but you'll probably be swooning so much about the incredible tastes you won't really notice. The decor is luxurious and plush (no minimalist design here) without going so far as to be tacky. The tables are far enough apart to allow for privacy even when it's busy and the seating is comfortable. There are a number of different types of seating - from large group dining tables, to cozy booths which are excellent for groups of four or five, to the smaller tables looking out over the river. I recommend booking ahead, especially if you fancy one of the river-view tables, as they are popular for special occasions, or if you are going with a larger group. I would certainly not call Blackbird overpriced, but it is possible to come up with a substantial bill depending on how many options you try, how long you linger and, potentially, how much you're trying to impress. While it is quite possible to have lunch or dinner here for $70pp, I usually allow a budget of $150-$200pp, especially if I know we're partial to a couple of drinks. Well worth it: Blackbird offers food for the soul as well as the stomach.

By Hediah 7 years old. "For my starter I had Quail. I didn't like the sauce because it was too sweet but I liked the tender Quail meat. I loved the Beef City Tenderloin, because it came with three different types of mustard sauce. For dessert I had Valrhona milk chocolate, I loved the icing. It was the best. Went here for a wedding. There was a set menu that looked delicious (and I'm assured it was), but I couldn't eat any of it because I was vegan, so I didn't really expect much. But the meals I got were amazing. Starter was beetroot and fennel with green sprouts on a bed of hummus; main was an eggplant steak that was done beautifully, heavily herbed and spiced to be simultaneously spicy, sweet, and savoury, with potatoes, salad, and lightly pickled cabbage; dessert was a sorbet with strawberries and rhubarb. The venue itself was quite nice, with river views, the only odd thing was that the toilet is only accessible by leaving the building.

Then we were essentially rushed out, forced to order desserts while we were still eating mains (this was around 8) and reminded repeatedly that our booking finished at 8:30. The service otherwise was ok but that put a bit of a sour taste on the evening. Food was overall very good. Quail was superb, prawns in butter sauce was wonderful, desserts and sides amazing. Many of us had steaks which were cooked very well but a couple were gristly with one of them almost inedible. Fish was excellent.

You know a place is good if the waitstaff recall that you bought the same bottle of wine on your last visit even though it was a few months ago. Some friends took me here when I was visiting Brisbane and we had a lovely night. It is right on the River and whilst I couldn't actually work out what theme they were going for with their decor which was very eclectic my rule is you do not go to a Restaurant to eat the decor. This place was new to me and my friends assured me it would be good. I must say it was extremely busy on a Thursday night. I had the pork chop which was cooked to perfection followed by cheese which was also actually served at the proper temperature. Word to the wise the cheese course could be shared by two as it is a huge serve which after the pork chop which was equally huge meant that I didnt do it justice. The wine list is huge and reasonably priced. They had private dining rooms and they are serious about their grill as they have the aged steaks on display as you walk in. My only concern was its a very noisy and I found it hard to actually here what my friends were saying. If they could put baffling in the ceiling the atmosphere would be better. But otherwise I do recommend it.

This review comes a little overdue! Dined at Blackbird for the first time on my birthday in December and had the best time. We were shown a table right by the window where the view was incredible and the ambience was lovely. I distinctly remember how the oysters were the best I’ve ever had and strangely enough, the cocktail sauce for the prawns too! We had such an amazing night! Blackbird probably made the top of my list for best Brisbane restaurants. Will definitely be returning.

Went a couple of weeks ago with my son for lunch. Had a nice table with a good view. Food was pretty good except that my sons steak was a bit overcooked but fortunately a good quality cut of meat & still pretty enjoyable. We told the waitress but really didn't get much of a response.. I had the pressed pork which was delicious. Would recommend giving it a go - I enjoyed the meal. Some of the staff could have been a tad more interested & assertive.. Other than that, a good meal & a good spot on the river..

A regular business lunch haunt in the golden triangle, even if it breaks the rule about not having a restaurant upstairs, and has the best river view allocated to the extensive inside/outside bar with most dining tables viewing the kitchen or other punters. The interior decor is rather daring and interesting however. A very long wine list has something for everyone. The meals to share are wood roasted and huge. The specials are always to die for. Steaks are also generous and great quality. Good staff although a fair bit of turnover. Always busy and dependable. Astute ordering brought us in at $80 a head for two courses and good wine yesterday but a little less discipline can see this figure climb alarmingly. Still it is good value for a blow out as well.

We had a function there and even though we had dedicated service staff the time it took to get any drinks was just unbelievably slow, like about 15 minutes. I wouldn’t go back for a function but would drop in again.

The bar food is also pretty good, I'm sure it is out of the same kitchen as the restaurant. Good selection of wines, average selection of beers and mediocre selection of cocktails, which is probably for the best as sometimes the wait time at the bar can suffer with the more punters.

Team, Thank you for hosting our group last night. The staff from the front door to the Wait Staff, Restaurant Manager to the incredibly talented Chefs and kitchen staff made our night so very enjoyable. Specifically I would like to acknowledge the lovely Wait Staff who already knew of my food allergy, checked with Chef and returned promptly to advise which specific dish would not meet my need. When the dishes were served, again letting me know which dish would create an adverse reaction. And I thought that was brilliant... yet it gets better. The Chefs then cook me a specific dish to add to the feasting menu so I would not miss out. Individually the two examples are AMAZING, together they show Blackbirds went ABOVE AND BEYOND. We had a work drinks function here earlier this week in the bar area and then a few of us went to dinner in the restaurant next door. I’ll start with the bar - excellent service, great views of the story bridge and river, very pretty. The bar menu food was excellent. Varied menu choices from nibbles to main dishes. We nibbled on fMac and cheese balls, cheese boards, charcuterie boards, and shoestring fries. All were done really well and perfect appetisers with a few cocktails! Moving to the restaurant - also a great experience. The service was excellent. The wine menu had good choices and a range of prices to suit all budgets. The menu made it difficult to go past the steaks as so many great choices. We all had steak in various formats and everyone was happy. The sides were done well and the deserts were also hard to go past. Bang for buck this place really was value for money. At just over $100 a head for starters, mains, deserts, wine and great service you would be hard pushed to complain!

Good wine, good cheeses, good entree`, there wasn't much not to like. Best intent on focus, the decor just was slightly off the mark, I can appreciate what they are going for, but it was ever so slightly a miss, air conditioning ducts were showing shades of the smoke from the grill. The chef wouldn't offer a 'rare' steak and only medium rare and medium well, for a wood grilled piece of meat, I found that to be a compromise for my taste buds. The jus, a little too light, the binding medium from butter, herbs or something that would cut through the meat was not there and certainly the plate longed for it... The meet and greet wasn't welcoming, though the wait staff attending to the table, were to the point, courteous and well informed. A Grill, where I found the grill did not take the centre stage, but was ever present in the background with the live cooking, pass and smokey aromas! Great wines, perfect cocktails, cheeses, some good offerings on the menu, that I would go back for, hence I will return to try more.

I've dined at Blackbird on three separate occasions. First time was good, second time was better and the third time recently was very disappointing. Before ordering, I asked my waiter for the marble score on the AACO Wagyu Angus Cross.. He told me it was a 6+. What I received was a perfectly cooked steak with an absolute rubbish taste. It did not taste like it had any marbling whatsoever and for $60 it tasted like a regular rump steak. If I'm paying this kind of money, I expect it to be half decent.

Views are great here at black bird, as is the service. Admittedly it was a quiet time when we were there though there was extra attention to providing service which isn’t the norm. Great for a Friday knock off and as the sun goes down, with plenty of cocktails and tap beer to choose from.

I attended a work function tonight after working over 30 years in the hospitality trade, I found your staff to be so courteous and polite that they are a credit to your company's selection and training. As a cordon bleu patisserie chef, the food was phenomenal , the jus for the main course steak was something to talk about and the overall ambience of the evening due to the hospitality , made my evening such a pleasant one. I would like to pass my compliments to the chef for the menu that was cooked to perfection

While the Food and service was reasonable but not outstanding it was totally over shadowed by the deplorable condition of the chairs. The only way to describe them is straight up filthy which was not what one would expect to find in a fine dining restaurant that charges premium prices.

The lady who got us our seats asked us where we wanted to sit and said she would come get us when a spot was available and she did so promptly and very polite and well dressed like all the staff. The slow cooked lamb melted in my mouth the staff were incredible and so friendly and me and my husband both agree this is hands down the best restaraunt we have ever been too. The man who presented our lamb was so friendly having small chat with us while he cut up our lamb. Excellent restaraunt. If I was rich I would eat here every day! Thank you for the expierance.

Loved it hey! The food was to die for. Hubby had a beer (premium) and I had a cocktail, both at reasonable prices for a city restaurant. I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a nice night out away from the kids 😉

A good spot for a few drinks with a good view. We sat one night for a few share meals and really enjoyed them too. Their mac and cheese balls- do yourself a favour!

Had dinner the other evening with my partner, greeted by a lovely lady at the desk and promptly shown to our table, wait staff came over straight away and offered drinks and the specials - I was extremely impressed with the knowledge of the wait staff (the blonde with the dark glasses and the gentleman with the tattoos) both knew the menu to a t, I asked about various cuts of meat and they were able to explain them beautifully down to where on the animal there came from. We had oysters and honey bugs to start, my partner said his oyster was fantastic , followed by the tuna ceviche and the soft shell crab entrees - both lovely I particularly enjoyed the dressing and herbs on the crab - although I believe a peice of the meat was not soft shell crab... For mains we had the rib eye and the hanger steak - incredible!! Juicy , meaty, perfectly cooked! And to go with my hanger steak a glass of the craggy range le sol - yum yum , our evening was perfect until the bill came.... my partner had ordered a whisky at $19 and very unfortunately I'm not sure weather it was the staff member that ordered or poured it they gave him a $130 one! The manager came to use with the bill and explained the mistake - to which we very much understand was not a cheap one - but we then got asked to 'meet them half way' and were expected to pay $75 for a single shot of whisky we very plainly did not order, he then continued to argue this with us making us feel very embarrassed as this was not our fault. How ever he agreed to only charge us for what we ordered and we thanked him, then the waitress came over for us to pay and my partner said 'I'm sorry if we got you in trouble" to which she replied 'It's being taken out of our tips' - wow did we leave feeling unwelcome and crappy. To that waitress I am sorry that you lost those tips we both really are - we wish that hadn't have happened (as we defiantly couldn't pay 130 for a whiskey) you are very good at your job and the food and ambiance were great however it may have ended.
