For little bar in appearance, the staff are not want you would think, stardard services just there to pour you a drink. The make an old fashion that competes with bourbon Street that's across the path, and for a few $ less. Added bonus cause I was hungry, the cook a great chicken wing, not some scrawny Ethiopian chicken, but nice meaty ones cook throughly and consistent. Competing for busy with food and drink outlets, five me a shot, I personally don't think you will leave disappointed.

Food was amazing, atmosphere was perfect perfect above all the service was phenomenal. Highly recommend this place. I'm a huge Gin person and I couldn't get through this collection. We can back 3 days in a roll and everytime was the exact same. Love it

I didn't have any of the food but I had a pint of beer. The lady behind the bar was really nice and didn't even complain when the beer I ordered needed the keg to be changed. She also frequently came and replaced the empty cold water bottle at our table which is a nice change.

Delicious food, great service and plenty of variety to drink!! We both had chicken parmas. Mine the Queenslander, partners the Mexican. Both delicious and the size of meals are huge!! I'm not a fan of coleslaw so was hesitant, but the dressing really made it. YUM. Also we had the curry chips to start.... again YUM Staff are extremely friendly and service is fantastic. I highly recommend

This was a great choice to go for Sunday lunch. I had the traditional Sunday roast complete with Yorkshire pudding. Huge serve with about 6 slices of roast beef with all the veges. Hubby had bangers and mash and said was delicious. And the kids meals came with a drink and ice cream. There was also a vocalist playing and he was so good. Loved it and will definitely be back.

We dined here on a Saturday. One the of the waiters was attentive to showing us the table and getting menus however one other waited seemed unsure of some requests. My vegan burger tasted pretty good noting that vegan cheese doesn’t melt. There were a few different choices for the beers on taps but the staff weren’t able to describe them. I would suggest making staff aware of the products on offer. Whilst it was ok, I’m not in a rush to return.

Only flaw I have is the jalapeno poppers had a side of cream cheese and weren't deseeded. I'd much rather them deseeded and filled with cream cheese. A much more pleasant experience that way.

Good pub food. GF chips are always nice for a treat. I had the pumpkin salad which had a huge portion of pumpkin. I enjoyed my meal. My husband had a burger but the burger was let down by the bun, which looked dry and crumbly.

Cute little open air bar/pub with an eclectic selection of beer and cider. Looks like they serve some decent pub grub too. I was impressed that on a busy Saturday night, when the keg had run out of the particular pint I ordered, the bartender took my order and then suggested I wait at my table for him to being out a fresh glass after swapping out the keg. Great service!

Great Happy Hour prices 4:30-6:30pm on Monday - Friday. For craft beers and local brewer (rotated seasonally) on tap it's only $15 for a jug, $7 for a pint and a myriad of food options perfect for a bar. Friendly and fast service with a modern decor.

Hospitality toned down. Things are relaxed, staff are friendly, food is good if not great. If you like a professional formal dining experience and have high expectations then this place is not for you. I don't mean that in a bad way, though, as this place is for the relaxed, chilled, passer-by. Good place for a bite to eat and a better place for the casual drink. Certainly recommend a visit. The staff make for great conversation too.

We had dinner here last night. It was exceptional and all 4 of us commented how good the meal was. The pork belly was just amazing, melt in the mouth. The steak was also very tender. We're here on holiday and thus far the best meal we've had. Very reasonably priced, staff were very friendly and accommodating. Loved the sangria also. Would definitely go there again.

Hop And Pickle have great friendly staff, excellent pricing and substantial tasty meals. Sunday roasts are a must if not sold out, you're guaranteed not to leave hungry. Stopped in on Sunday for the Roast and it was absolutely amazing. Started with a serve of buffalo chicken wings (excellent - light, not oily and not too overloaded with sauce) and the 3 cheese arancini (‘the best arancini I’ve ever had’ according to my wife. The roasts followed soon after - the meat melted in the mouth and was served with a large assortment of vegetables. Large portions that wouldn’t leave anyone hungry. Absolutely terrific experience and would highly recommend to anyone chasing a Sunday roast without putting the effort in at home!!

Small corner venue, well placed to keep things interesting. Had dinner, the classic pub grub fish and chips with mushy mint peas, fresh and delicious. The service is no-fuss, the decor comfortably low-key creating a friendly atmosphere. Great place to sit and chat with a cold beverage or cuppa tea. Will return to sample their lunch menu, read the blackboard specials and definitely interested in Treacle Tart Orange and Bourbon Ice Cream.

*This was a Tuesday night, so perhaps any downfalls here would be found better on a Friday/weekend. Ordered two margaritas and a beer. Drinks were quick and pretty good. Server was nice and welcoming, and often refilled our water without a need to ask. The parmigiana was $26 but didn't have ham (it says this on the menu, so I wasn't surprised, I'm just used to ham), and only a sprinkle of cheese; however, the chicken was still good and I was satisfied. The cheeseburger was presented well and we all liked the chips. Unfortunately, the burger was quite dry and overcooked, but still decent to eat. Overall the service was pretty good (a tad on the slower side), and the food not bad. I would give 4 stars for those alone, but I found the pricing quite high for the quality of food. A decent place to pick for a chill small group of people (not good for a large group).

Had the slow cooked pork and it was fantastic! The meat melted in your mouth, I felt as though you could have eaten it with a spoon. The staff were amazing! I made a last minute booking for 10 people for farewell drinks, and it was perfect for our casual group with some people arriving later in the night! It got really lively as the night wore on, but the bar staff were consistently friendly and went out of their way to make the night special! The food was great, lots of easy to eat food and interesting lighter shareable snacks like popcorn and you have to try the signature pickles! Wish I'd found this place before I left the country!

A welcoming dining option in the middle of the popular South Bank dining strip. Hop & Pickle is a fun pub-like restaurant that offers delicious, hearty meals that are filling and so satisfying. We were drawn to their Sunday roast menu which is just epic and well priced. With an extensive range of drinks to choose from to accompany the meals, they even have a great kids meal menu that comes with a drink and ice-cream. The staff are very friendly and the service is terrific. There are a lot of specials through the week and even a fun trivia night. A wonderfully relaxed, casual and fun restaurant experience that will have us coming back again.

Just visited for lunch and we had a couple of the $10 lunch specials (pulled pork, spiced lamb) and they were both fantastic with complex and creative flavors. Decided to go to Southbank to walk around and look at the market. Started to get hungry, as you do, out of all the returants we decided to try hop and pickle. What stood out to us was we were greeted by a friendly voice telling us welcome and letting us know about the Sunday roast special. We were sat promptly and offered refreshments, when I wasn't too sure what I wanted I was given informative suggestions. The appetiser of garlic and cheese Turkish bread was absolutely amazing. A real surprise. When the mains came out they were full of flavour and well presented. My burger was sensational! Amy was friendly and professional and made a nice time relaxing from the heat. Thank you to the chef, service staff and hop and pickle for a nice meal. I would recommend this place to my friends.
