Came on a quiet Thursday night for dinner. The food was great quality, it tasted like food that was actually made on site, and good serving size. The chef was very nice, said hello and had a few words with us. The kind lady that served us Kat was lovely, very attentive and often stopped by to check on us. It is very hard to get this kind of service anywhere these days. Will be back again, thank you.

Walked in establishment and it was inviting and quite modern. Staff were fantastic and up for a joke and a laugh.. food was great was very busy but staff advised of wait which really was.nit that bad. Even though there were some grumpy people that did not like waiting. Staff sorted them well. . Beer was priced well smashed a few $6 pints

My family went here on a Tuesday night for dinner and was quite busy. The food was good once we got it. Unfortunately they were busy serving food in the bar where trivia was being played so most of our meals took an hour or so to get to us. The staff were good and let us know about the delays and apologised to us.

Went for dinner on 24/11. Restaurant was crazy busy and so a very long wait was had and we ended up taking our meals away. However you could clearly see the staff did their absolute best to accommodate. The food was beautiful and the staff were amazing and so very apologetic.

13 of us went for dinner for Grandma's Birthday. As soon as the Lawnton heard it was for a birthday - they offered balloons for the table, kept the cake in the fridge for us and provided candles, plates, serviettes etc all complimentary !! The meals were (as usual) great - generous portions and well cooked and presented (the ribs are sensational). They are obviously still getting back on their feet after COVID however the staff who were there were friendly, helpful and accommodating even though they were run off their feet ! Thank you very much Lawnton Tavern for a lovely night.

Went for dinner on Wednesday night with some of the family. We'd tried to go the previous Wednesday, but after standing at the restaurant reception for over 10 minutes waiting to be greeted and seated, and not even being acknowledged in that time, we went elsewhere. On this occasion we were greeted within a couple of minutes and seated immediately. The staff were friendly and helpful in our interactions. Although patrons don't interact with staff much any more, as all ordering is online through your phone. It's quick and easy, and avoids any mistakes in taking your orders. The food was decent pub fare, and reasonably priced. A big shout out goes to the recently hired mature bar lady who made a range of cocktails for our table for the first time, and nailed every one of them. Her excellent customer service and winning personality are the reason this review has five stars and not three.

I had a little trouble finding the entrance to the pokies. There wasn't much signage, however, as I am using a mobility scooter at present, I found gaining access was a breeze. Obviously, the gaming room design was well thought out, making entry easy for all. The welcoming staff, who have an important role in keeping the dreaded Covid virus from spreading, made showing documents and apps a simple and do-able request. Everyone was friendly and approachable which made the atmosphere comfortable and relaxing. I recommend the Lawnton Tavern for a great night out with friends or a great night out on your own. The complimentary soft drinks were a welcome treat. Playing the pokies is thirsty work, however, someone has to do it.

What a great way to spend a Christmas lunch, great selection including seafood, friendly staff without all the hassles of cooking for days and the clean up. A very pleasant surprise was Santa had left gifts for the kids and they loved them. Loved that even the smallest details were catered for, we even got our traditional Bon Bon’s. Well done to everyone involved as we have worked in catering and know the time and effort needed to a great job. Merry Christmas

Came to the tavern for lunch today with my Mum and my little 2 year old daughter. The service was impeccable. Each one of the staff were ultra helpful and incredibly friendly. The meals were delectable. The best steak sandwich I have ever eaten and the kids spaghetti was also a hit, not to mention the yummy strawberry ice cream too. Meals were fresh and massive. Each of the staff were happy and enjoying their day which was good to see. We will definitely be back soon. Thanks for making our day!

Has been a few years between drinks and a meal here and I've got to say, the food, service and range of drinks has improved. I had the King Avocado Schnitzel, and it was excellent, the chef was excellent when it came to providing a meal for my wife based on her intolerances. Her steak was cooked to perfection and the salad which was prepared for her was appreciated. Other guests at the table were also impressed with their meals. I'd recommend having a meal here, we certainly will be again.

After a long drive back from Gladstone, we just wanted to go somewhere, have a nice sit down meal and just relax without the fuss. I am so glad we went into Lawnton Tavern. My wife and I both ordered the steak and it was wonderful and my kids enjoyed their meals also. The staff were lovely and welcoming and top Mark's to the chef for my sons delicious Churros which we all shared and loved. We will definitely be back again and again. Nothing beats local and nothing beats great food and service. Big Ups to the chef and team.

I wish I could recommend the Lawnton Tavern's bistro, but I had such an awful experience I will never return. During the ordering of our meal, for two adults and two children, the young woman at the register overcharged us by $6.50 on a bill of $90.50 simply because we were paying $50 using EFTPOS and $40.50 in cash. When we queried this, her answer was "The computer says that the balance is $47", even though we could all see from the receipts that $90.50, less the $50 EFTPOS, left $40.50. She was incapable of simple arithmetic and refused to budge. Eventually a more senior member of staff came and fixed us up, but not before my tired, stressed wife lost her mind. If there's one thing that drives us both nuts, it's the tired old line "…but the computer says no." Then, as if that weren't enough, we were approached a few minutes later by a kitchen supervisor and given a dressing down for being upset with the woman at the register. It was as if we were staff members who were being put on a performance review for bad behaviour. This is a text-book case of how not to treat your patrons.
