newstead really needed a place like this where it's a little more casual but still with great food and drinks. you can watch sports but also have a boogie to live music. will definitely come again.

Great venue!! Really nice and open layout with great finishes. The place has a extensive menu with a lot of GF options, which I find hard to get around Brisbane, being gluten intolerant you can imagine how happy I am about it I live in Newstead and I can’t say how refreshing it is to have a nice venue without having to trek into the city. Side notes: - pool table - great music - lots of sports on the screens - extensive drinks menu - great cocktails. Only thing they might need is more seltzer options but they have Fizz so that’s a option at least. Great job to the team.

Had lunch here today, and it was a great experience. The girl who served us was lovely and deserves a shout out ☺ Food was good and came out fast. I had the passionfruit spritzer and it was delicious and refreshing. Fitout is cool, although the sports bar TVs are a bit at odds with the overall vibe. A great addition to the neighbourhood!

Absolutely loved the place and the food! This place is definitely going to be a regular for me. The food was delicious. The seasoning on the fries - yum! Easy enough parking and staff were nice & friendly. Great place to catch up with friends for a casual lunch or dinner. Highly recommend. I can't wait to come back.

This is what pubs used to be like. Every pub in Brisbane is a multimillion dollar complex with pokies and no atmosphere. Only place you can see Hipsters and local socialites together. Definitely a secret date spot. Felt very cool and the food and staff were great. The perfect place to start a big night out.

This is an awesome new venue, and it's just around the corner from me! Love the atmosphere, it's great for catching up with friends whether you just want to have a drink or a meal. Staff are friendly, vibe is fun, music is good and overall it's just an enjoyable place to hang out. This will be my new local!

An amazing gem in Brisbane. Beautiful venue with a nice open relaxing space and plenty of seating. The cocktails and food was AMAZING! One of my meals was the fries and it was the best fries I have ever had. The service was excellent. Can’t wait to come back!

Kudos to a strong venue opening in 2022. Filling the void in newstead that the defiant duck left behind by bringing in sellma soul for triv (a test in your diversity credentials is incoming). The vibe does feel like it would make a great local bar on a regular night but the crowd is far from authentic (hopefully just an opening hype). Seems great for a group ready to spend but would recommend walking a bit further for zero fox if looking for a dinner for two/four. Sports TV doesn't fit the 4006 socialite vibe but I look forward to attending again with a more casual crowd.

Nice inside but all around just your average bar not the best in the area. Drinks are average and not what i would expect for a bar like that, and you are required to post on social media if you want to get access to wifi as there is no mobile reception in the bar. Food Nice but again nothing special compared to the rest of the area.

Great venue and they have done an awesome job opening and getting a crowd along in the middle of a pandemic coupled with floods. Steak was great and awesome value and my son smashed the whole thing. Good ambience and set out of the venue. Sad that I’m only going to be a local for a little bit longer as this would definitely become a regular. Reading the names of the couple of bad reviews you can pretty much guess what type of people they are and wouldn’t be a loss them not coming back

Great venue and addition to the Newstead hub! We were lucky enough to attend the preview event and love the feel of the layout, food and drinks on offer. Can’t wait to come back and indulge in some of those oysters!! Wishing the team behind this venue all the best and congrats on opening a new venue amongst all this chaos!

Daium this is a great addition to Newstead. Just a great spot to go grab some food and relax. We've been back 3 times already. The food has been amazing.. trust me, try the Romaine Lettuce and be amazed. Staff are excellent and have built a locals repore with us already.. wines are good, beers are cold.

A local like no other! I got to go here on one of the first nights they were serving and everything was already running smoothly like a well oiled machine. Great food (strongly STRONGLY recommend the calamari), great drinks with something for everyone, great vibe (you can tell the owners really put thought with a touch of love into the build) and most of all great service. Watch me be here whenever I get the chance. Thank you Newstead Social!

Great new venue with a really nice fit-out. Awesome menu options for both food and drinks. I'm really looking forward to the Drag Queen Trivia that starts this week. Credit to the management and team for persevering through the recent floods and temporarily allowing families to dine-in. It's always a nice touch when a local business genuinely services the locals. Looking forward to my next visit so I can try out the giant share platter with some mates!

Selma Soul is a legend! I rate the trivia highly! If you fancy getting destroyed by an articulate drag queen this is your bag! Newstead Social is very cool and a refreshing addition to the New Farm/Teneriffe area. I got the parmigiana and it was thick, juicy and flavoursome. Comfortable atmosphere, great decor, good vibes. We’ll be back for after work drinks, trivia, weekend drinks and Sunday sesh’s for sure.

Man, what a killer vibe for Newstead! Despite flooding comparable to the 2011 floods, the limited staff were friendly, knowledgeable and polite. I think anyone could see that the odds were stacked against them and even so, they had chosen to open their doors to all members of the public. Warms my heart to see community like that, and Newstead Social embodies that sentiment to a tee! Finally, 5/5 chefs kisses for the crispy skin Barra and the expertly craftily Mojitos. The run they use is just something else! 🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽

Wow what a beautiful new venue in the heart of Newstead. We were met by such friendly staff as soon as we set foot in the door. The welcoming vibe and great live music instantly put us in the mood for an enjoyable evening that we so needed! We had amazing cocktails made by friendly and helpful mixologists, who made sure that our drinks perfectly suited out taste buds! Then came the food…. Oh the food 🤤!!! We didn’t order mains as we had planned a cocktail and nibbles night, but if I had to pick two of my favourite starters, it would have to be the crispy ‘buttermilk fried chicken wings’ and tasty ‘porcini and truffle arancini balls’. It is clear that there has been a lot of time and thought put into the opening of this venue, and we will definitely be back VERY soon to try the rest of the menu and have a game of pool 🙂 Thank you Newstead Social 🙏🏼

My husband and I dined here around when they opened their doors for a lunch sitting. I thought the menu had a really good variety of things and found myself wanting to try a number of items. We settled on the chicken schnitzel burger and the parmi. The portion size was massive - even for two really hungry adults. I can’t wait to return to try more of the menu items. The vibe was fun and I like that the venue has different little nooks for a more intimate experience, stand up casual drinks after work or just a get-together with the girls. Excited to come back !
