Sooo... my podiatrist recommended this place to me...thought we would check it out. My wife and twin girls went along, no booking, they fitted us in. Wow wow wow!! This is one of the few places I have given five stars to. Everything was perfect, service, food, atmosphere, great selection of drinks. Everything was quality plus!! Loved it.

Was at the Port Office for lunch on Saturday and everything and everyone was amazing! The service from the outset was professional and accommodating. Moving on to the food- outstanding- I give it the ‘Ridiculous Award’ as in Ridiculously Good!! Great portion sizes for $$ and really worth every cent. A big shout out to the owner who had to deal with noisy outside protestors with professionalism and diplomacy keeping all of us patrons inside feeling safe and protected . Highly- highly recommend this place !!!

The restaurant situated at the rear of the hotel has real old world charm. A select menu offers some quality dishes although perhaps a little pricey given that vegetables etc are extra. The staff are wonderful and attentive without being intrusive. A good range of wines although again a little overpriced. All in all a great night out.

My friends and I came here for the Super Bowl game yesterday, entry was $90 which included food and a selection of beer. The staff was professional and friendly. The food was amazing from the sliders, buffalo wings, hot dogs and the bowl of fries. It was worth the price of admission and we will all be returning next year for the Super Bowl.

We arrived at peak time without a reservation looking like a hot mess but the lovely staff greeted us with smiles and were able to squeeze us in! We had the calamari, the duck spring rolls and warm bread to start… the portions and flavour were well on point! My partner and I are massive foodies and as someone that works in the industry I was Beyond impressed that the recent winners did not disappoint! Little touches such as noticing that we were sharing the strip-loin and would we like it cut, to putting us in a a solid food Coma! We will be back!! Thank you Port Office Team From start to finish!

Had lunch here yesterday and it was excellent. Fine dining pub grub. I had the fillet steak rare, it was cooked perfectly and was quality steak, melt in your mouth. Friends had the suckling pig and that looked sensational with the perfect crackling. Sides were great and everything was presented with style. Service was very attentive, kept the wine topped up without noticing, though not sure that’s always a good thing. Cheeseboard to finish and the cheese choices were also excellent! Highly recommend this place for any event whether it be business or pleasure.

I can't speak highly enough when it to comes to this venue. The drinks are cold and the staff are amazing. As soon as you walk in they make you feel special. The food is wonderful, slightly a bit more pricey, but it's worth it. You can't go wrong with the Port Office. If you're just after a beer or a high end lunch, the Port Office has it all. The two Conors and Matt are wonderful, Jordan and Chloe run the background, Harrison is nice but slow.

Had oysters, steak, and a glass of wine. The food was pretty good and the service was even better, made the dining experience very enjoyable. For oysters, I'd recommend the “natural” ones; you can't really taste the oyster with the strong flavor of Kilpatrick sauce. The steak was okay but for the price I'd expect something a little bit better. They put way too much sauce on the steak, which was a pity. Should've requested the sauce on the side.

Over hyped article in the qantas magazine. Was looking forward to this meal but it completely missed the mark on a Tuesday night when the restaurant was practically empty. Asked for crumbed cutlet, 30 minutes later - served an entree of lamb ribs. Food was delicious but too many people fluffing about and obvious gaps between service and kitchen.

Absolutely amazing meal had here with my wife. Probably the best Western food we've had in years! The steaks were incredible - juicy, well cooked and came with a good choice of sauces and mustards and a decent sized side of cos salad with dressing. The staff were also really nice. The waiter didn't like our table and took time to find us a nicer one. They were all helpful without being overbearing, polite and a bit of fun too. Great service. Thank you. The Port Office Hotel is in a nice spot too. Close to the river and the botanical gardens so a good location to follow up with a walk after eating too much!

The spouse and I had an amazing meal. Didn’t have a booking but were easily accommodated. Oysters were delicious, had the cevice style and natural. We dined at the POH on 18th August 2020 for my sister's 65th birthday and can I say, our expectations were not only met but were exceeded! From the time we walked through the door, our welcome was enthusiastic and the covid protocols were addressed in a friendly and easy fashion. The Menu was fabulous and the food was absolutely divine, brought out in a most timely fashion. Niall, our waiter/attendant was an amazingly personable gentleman who tendered to our dining needs with perfection, what a wonderful asset this fellow is to the establishment. And may I say, that all the staff that attended to us in some way that evening were delightful. Together, everyone made my sister's birthday a most memorable one. Honestly, one of the best dining experiences I have had the pleasure to enjoy. Thank you to all.

What great staff . I am vegan and I rang the hotel and asked if they could do something up for me a few days prior to me attending a function there . The meal they prepared for me was nothing short of one of the best meals I have ever had . All of the people who went there with us said they would have loved to have my meal ,not to say anything they had wasn’t up to standards. Fine dining in a convivial atmosphere. Imaginative menu, excellent execution, and a sommelier to help with our wine selections. Relatively pricey but well worth it. We ordered several entrees and a selection of mains, all of which we shared. There was even a kids menu, very reasonably priced. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Had a lovely meal here Saturday night - the staff were friendly and attentive, food including fish and steak mains and couple of salads better than expected so thanked the chef and his team. Only downside is their main dining room is seriously noisy, it’s not the place to go for a romantic / quiet dinner with your dear one. Shame as the rest of the venue and meal punches above its weight, however not unfixable - maybe some soft surfaces added here and there to break up noisy areas.

The PO used to be a dive bar back in the days, now it has become a colonial themed oasis of good times and sensational food. It's amazing how much of a difference the new management team has made, it's like a completely different venue. I had a steak in here the other day that was like a F in the mouth, as my auntie used to say. Good times, good times.

The Port Office is equal parts luxury and fun with a kitchen that kicks some impressive goals. The wine list is interesting and covers all price points, with a great by-the-glass selection. The dining room, with its sparkling glassware and warm lighting, makes for an oasis from the pub proper. Knowledgeable and helpful wait staff work it with admirable efficiency, rewarding patrons with great pub food. Run, don't walk.

We arrived at this place after a football evening game. Drinks were great, and the barman was very pleasant. Disappointing that there was no food available at 10pm. Not even chips or nuts at the bar. We were also not permitted to order in a pizza even though the hotel could not serve anything to us.

We held our wedding celebration dinner at the Port Office & highly recommend! It's not easy organising an event from overseas but the Port Office were always timely to respond and very accommodating We required coeliac, vegetarian & lactose free meals. The Chef was able to accommodate these requirements and amend dishes so there only a few meals that had to be made specifically for dietary requirements. The prosecco & canapes service on the Margaret St. Verandah was impressive with good circulation & quantity of the canapes. We then moved to the blue room for the dinner service. Which had its own bar. The shared entrees meant there was something for everyone. The pork & chicken mains were substantial in size & we have received so many comments on the standard & presentation of the food & drinks service. The whole night went off without a hitch. We couldn't be happier.

The chicken schnitzel with potato salad was a nice change - good concept. I think the prep and execution of the schnitzel let the experience down. An improved process how you prepare for volume trading and balance fresh cooking the schnitzel would be a welcome improvement. I dont expect my meal to be out within 10 minutes, I would prefer a quality prep and fresh cook. I appreciate there is a balance with time and quality. I enjoyed the salad, I disliked the schnitzel. The atmosphere was good.

The atmosphere in this place is great, with great lighting and background music. Attached is a bar that fits in perfectly. The food is amazing (try the steak) and quite a lot of choice at a reasonable price for the quality and setting. The only let down the night I came was slow service, which is odd for a quiet Monday. Otherwise the staff was nice and the actual wait time on food was not that long.

Thought I would try the newly refurbished Dinning Room at the Port Office since the Hotel had the fire go thru it. I can happily say it was a great experience. The Staff were extremely attentive thru out the whole night and the food was excellent. I had the eye fillet steak (medium) as did my other dinning guest and it was perfect. Not easily done with steak. The wine selection was plentiful which added to the great dining experience. I should also say, the restaurant is not overly noisy, something that can be a problem with other establishments. I will be back and suggest you the reader of this review go there!

Attending a regular monthly networking meeting where we go to a different place each month. November was at this place. The dining room provides a quieter venue for dining and worked well for the dozen or so people in the party. The meals were generous and the service fast. I had a very nice steak, done to perfection. I normally have medium well and this was a bit more medium than well. My colleague was instructing the waitresses on the correct way to hold wine bottles and carafes as he felt they were not doing it correctly but in a nice way.
