Comments of Rudd's Pub
M. M.
We loved this historical pub! We drove 2.5 hours from the east coast to escape the hustle and bustle, we were not disappointed. Friendly staff, great food - which did not take long to serve - exactly what we were after driving this far out. If you care to learn about history, you could stay here for hours learning about the origins of this place and the family behind it. If you're looking for a beautiful drive to a country pub, this pub must be on your list, even for a quick beer. Thank you to the staff for the friendly service too, we were obviously from out of town and felt very welcomed here.
L. T.
Excellent country pub full of memorabilia and history friendly staff ,amazing meals ,
Great free camp across the road.
Easy to find
V. R.
Beautifully restored pub with lots of interesting paraphernalia to look at. The owners are very friendly and there is camping across the road. Great for self contained vehicles.
D. K.
Love this place. Weather it is staying at the free (self contained) camping area over the road from the pub, coming over for a great meal, or just a few coldies and glasses of delicious wine OR staying in one of their quirkie rooms (with unusual shower rooms), their cabin or their house, this is a place that should be on "The Bucket List"
T. _.
Great pub to have a meal or rest and soak in the atmosphere. Nice meal.
S. M.
Great little pub. Really good menu and meal size is really generous. Beers are cold, prices are good. Awesome history all over the walls and a great atmosphere. Just be prepared to wait for your meals. Service can be a little slow, but there's so much to look at you probably won't even notice. Or better still just order another round.
M. C.
Meals are big and good value for money. Reasonable prices for dinner and drinks and the service was good too. Nice old looking pub, but very clean and tidy.
J. S.
Hubby and I had an afternoon drink and wandered through this amazing, crazy historic pub taking in all there is to see. And as we were staying o/n across the road, went back for dinner. Fantastic meals for both of us, grilled barra with creamy garlic prawns and grilled salmon with prawns in hollandaise sauce, both delicious! Well worth the visit & the caravan spot is free!
K. B.
History and memorabilia are definitely worth a look. Great ace to explore. Friendly staff and locals. Definitely be back
A. B.
The meals are large but be mindful of what you order. We had a burger which was a lettuce mix and rissole, and the lamb cutlets are heavily crumbed and very fatty.
I. G.
What a wonderful Aussie country pub with lots of memorabilia on the walls and ceilings. Plenty of history to soak up while downing a schooner of Rudds Ale. They serve country sized meals which can be a challenge to eat, but utterly delightful.
Booking for lunch or dinner are essential as this pub is very popular. Service was friendly and efficient. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
S. J.
Great meals here and great atmosphere! Highly recommend!
N. E.
Food is good, meals are well sized. Takes a long time to receive meals when busy. Takes forever to get a beer at the bar. Need to employ more staff during busy times. Waited at bar more than 10 minutes, walked away in disgust with no drink after having a meal that took over a hour to arrive at the table of 9 plus 3 kids
s. m.
Was a fantastic place, lunch was awesome, recommend don't order mix grill unless there is 5 of u to eat it as it us a massive meal, very yummy bot oh so large, order the garlic bread with cheese and bacon, very yummy and enough for 6 people to have a slice, has a great atmosphere, staff are very friendly and polite. You won't be disappointed, ur welcome to take photos of the place

Nice cold beer. Friendly staff. If you are thirsty, drop in for lager.
G. G.
Nice pub. Full of local history. Big meals.
P. M.
Nice old country pub, usual trappings of old farm equipment , lanterns, rabbit traps etc. Claim to fame, Steele Rudd wrote some of Dad and Dave there. Now the downside, badly understaffed. Needed two more at least, one in the bar and one in the kitchen. The poor girl in the bar had her hands full, taking food orders, which were hand written then taken to the kitchen as well as pouring drinks andserving bottle shop. The line up to order was lengthy and took a while. One lady running food whom I assumed was one of the owners and from what i could see only one person cooking probably the other owner. Food took one hour and twenty minutes to arrive, with apologies about the kitchen getting slammed again. With the pub being so popular as you are asked to book this seems like a regular occurrence, so you would think they would have the system organised. Hence the need for more staff. Although the portions were plentiful the pricing and wait weren't worth it. My mixed grill was huge but not totally enjoyable, steak was way overcooked and the lamb cutlet was very fatty. My wife's chicken, though once again plentiful was bordering on dryness. Having read other reviews Isee the wait time was also a factor. All I can say is management need to have a look at staffing and for the sake of a few dollars put someone else on during the rush period and better organise the kitchen.
C. S.
Great meal. Had to get a doggies bag. And it tasted just as good. So much memorabilia. Just a great day.
J. L.
Excellent meals, interesting history inside pub and can camp across road if self contained 👍
S. F.
Great looking place, with lots of character and loads of old vintage tools on the walls.
Food size is really big, overall good quality, but disappointed with non authentic bacon and egg pie which was more like a quiche.
P. H.
Great Dad and Dave displays. Very helpful staff.
R. W.
Absolutely amazing food, be prepared for a large meal. The pub is quirky and staff were super friendly. Highly recommend going here for some good old fashioned service and great food.
A. P.
Topical country side pub with few rooms. Property runs by a couple. Wife was so helpful and friendly. We stayed there a night and room was clean and had basic requirements. Bar was really nice and seems like a local museum as they having lots of historical pictures and items displayed around the pub walls. We had complimentary breakfast which was delicious. Also they having a barn which used for functions. This place is recommended.

Tried it for the first time and was very surprised at how good the food was!
There are so many nice meals to pick from - the quality is amazing.
The size of the meals were enormous!
Nice cold beers.
Clean toilets.
Not too noisy.
Comfortable seating.
Staff were friendly and explained everything well.
Ambience was great - amazing atmosphere!
If you want to sit at the bar, you can.
Parking was close by.
We had a great time 👍👏
Would we come back? Definitely!!!!
M. T.
One of the best. Great food at reasonable prices but the bonus is the meals are man sized unlike most these days. Beer was chilled to perfection. Top spot!
b. b.
Meals are very generous great pub you won’t be disappointed
J. J.
Loved our stay at this Historic Hotel.
Food was delicious, beer cold, bed warm and comfortable.
Thank you to the owners and staff.

Great representation of a Queensland country pub
j. t.
Good meals but they do get busy and can be slow, interesting place to visit with lots of memorabilia on walls. Can free camp across the the road. Good place for a stop over.
S. B.

l. t.
Amazing little pub, meals are very nice and huge! Owners are very friendly and accommodating! Room we are staying in is very cute an cozy and the tank shower is just the best top place great, place to start my bucket/pub list at but will be hard to top it
D. A.
Delicious homemade food. Authentic Aussie pub. Highly recommended.
R. M.
Great pub lots of history, Great meals,( I meant excellent meals ), great venue, great cabins, but the dude behind the bar has no people skills and quite ignorant .having to ask for a beer when you leave your empties which would normally be picked up and asked if would like another one instead of just taking the empties away...
G. W.
Rudds Pub at NOBBY, QLD.
Caravaners, if you are looking for a Free Camp with a difference !!
At around 40 km SW of Toowoomba on the Darling Downs. Great little Park. $5 for power per night. No water or spillage but a Gr8 spot to stop !!!
AND "RUDDS PUB" **** Great Meal, Friendly Staff , full of memorabilia . The Pub was where Steele Rudd wrote his famous Books 'On Our Selection & "Dad & Dave" plus several others.
S. S.

Great, authentic country pub. Food was delicious, tasty, and made with love.
R. V. P. C.
Great country pub food. Big portions, good beef, well cooked steak. Book your table if it is a weekend.
T. K.
Awesome meals! Brilliant service! A few unplanned large groups turned up, which slowed our lunch meals but the staff were awesome about it. Seven different meals and definitely worth the wait.

Fantastic old pub full of memorabilia, fabulous meal, great dining area. Must see!
l. b.
An ideal hotel with many private rooms to get away and enjoy your meal, heaps of memorabilia of the nobby district
D. S.
Nice old country pub, food was really good and great value for money. Would definitely go there again.
T. R.
One of Toowoomba and surrounds "go to pub" for a decent well priced feed.
Only reason its not a 5 star review is you can sometimes have a bit of a wait on busy times. I would highly recommend booking a seat as its usually busy at peak times and public holidays.
The meals are quite large, the chicken parmigiana looked like it was a breast from a turkey it was that big. The steaks were very tender and melted in my mouth, awesome.
Do yourself a favour and go and spend a few dollars in this small country pub.
M. M.
Food was amazing, local company interesting, cold Canadian Club on tap.
T. M.
Great place to visit, sensational meals. Put it on your list of places of must go to.
J. S.
The meals were large and nice. Dog friendly out the back area.
T. W.
Spent 2 wonderful days at the pub. Friendly publicans, Gayle & Evan, couldn’t do enough for us. The meals were delicious and ever so large. Can’t complain about the quantity. The accommodation was great as well. Big comfortable beds and lots of hot water. Added bonus was the complimentary breakfast - OMG!!!! There was enough to feed an army let alone 4 people however we did our best. Thanks again to Gayle, Evan & staff for a wonderful stay.
L. M.
Lots of local and surrounding district photos. stories on the walls. Biggest feed ever. Cooked to perfection.
R.
I was really looking forward to our get together at Rudd's pub, it was very very busy, maybe that's why the meals weren't what I've heard them to be. Hey we all have bad days. I had Barramundi with prawn topper & salad. It was ok. The salad wasn't flash. Then we ordered pavlova, its nothing like traditional pav, possibly a roll, but definitely not like a pav. Nice enough though. The creme bule was delicious.
Id like to try this place again when its less busy . There were many grey nomads.
M. E.
Need more staff behind the counter@ lunchtime, steak sandwich was a great feed
P. M.
Neat little old pub that serves lovely cold beer.
G. L.
We arrived 4mins too late for lunch so be on time if you want to eat. They do not advertise meal times. Interesting pub great info on Sister Kenny and the author of Dad and Dave, Steele Rudd. Can't give anymore stars due to lack of food.
L. C.
A group of 18 had lunch at Nobby Pub yesterday
Tasty large meals. No one was disappointed. Cold beer washed it down
Nobby was just a short drive from Toowoomba in Queensland
d. j.
Excellent meals. Very big indeed. Much appreciated
S. W.
So interesting with all the old radio series memorabilia, the info on author Steele Rudd, & huge tasty meals that were fit for a BIG appetite. And across the road, powered & unpowered sites for $5pn in donation box, great clean BBQ's, kids playground, park & loos & plenty to see & visit all in close walking distance. Met nice people, good Rudd Burger at the shop, spent 3days (max stay 72hrs in 7 days) & was my 2nd time in the town. Close drives to Toowoomba & Warwick, Glengallan etc. Great base, for adventures & many returning & new campers. A true little gem of a town & pub.
H. R.
Well worth a visit, especially if you listened to Dad and Dave.
o. m.
Wow. Food the best. Portions you can't jump over. Beer not bad either. My best birtday for some time. Thanks to staff and managment. I'll be back for sure. Put it on your bucket list.
M. P.

C. S.
Get the schnitzel burger. Cracking meal. Service excellent and meals very well priced for their ample size. Colourful locals spiced up the day 😂
M. M.
What a great way to blow the froth off a couple of cold ones on the coldest day in 20yrs. The pub was warm and relaxed and the staff were very friendly and helpful
S. M.
We moved up here 18 months ago after staying here on Anzac Day (after fruitless days searching to buy a place over the Coast and Lockyer Valley). After looking around the area we made the move to Clifton. Rudd's Pub is our go to place for a meal. Great food, service, owners and atmosphere. Best 'pub grub' in the Darling and Southern Downs area.
M. M.
Very friendly bar staff...meal delicious and enormous
B. T.
Perfect food, accommodation and country service with a smile
P. M.
Smiling friendly service and great tucker, when you get it. Sunday was very busy.
E. R.
A Fantastic true Australian fun experience.
Best meal we had during our stay in Toowoomba area.
Good price around $25
Try going week day as Sunday is very popular, but staff where well trained and experienced.
While there visit the museum.
T. B.
Lovely spot. Dad and Dave and Mabel
c. d.
Always stop in here on my way home from Warwick. Even if it is the long way home. Great pub, great hosts, great food
J. s.
Best hot chips and salad rolls this side of the black stump..
T. L.
Great pub , owner very friendly. Let me have a look through early today, lots of old things throughout. Will definitely be coming back to stay very soon.
J. M.
Accommodation, meals and bar service all excellent. Much memorabilia inside.
S. M.
Food was quite good but was a bit expensive. Nice atmosphere however they had lost our booking and we had to sit out the back on high stools that was not really suitable to my 85 year old mother.
T. M.
Very quirky, great food, friendly staff.
M. M.
Lovely old hotel. Home cooked meals were fantastic best Pub Meals. Room was very clean and comfortable. Beautiful and such friendly people. Thank you to Gail and Evan our hosts for being so welcoming. We will be backm
C. M.
My partner and I visited this pub on the weekend, it was a cold gloomy day but the hospitality of the staff was very warming, as was the fireplace in the dining room. We enjoyed a lovely home style meal and a couple of drinks. The kitchen should be commended for it's efficient service as there was quite a large crowd ordering meals and they were still delivered in a timely manner. We'll definitely be visiting this hotel again in the future.
C. R.
Great and met up with a guy who had been in the offshore oil like me, how odd can that be?
C. c. d.
pub itself was good atmosphere cool old stuff to look at. meals were nice but near on hour and half to get our meals that was mostly just deep fryed that was the let down
W. C.
Very good meals over night free rest stop near.
L. S.
Fantastic value for money!!!
Parmi's are massive beer is cold. The prices are refective of exactly what youll be getting. Fantastic customer service. Great to support a local business. We're able to fit a large group(8) in short notice for Sunday lunch. And the decor is exactly what you expect from a true aussie pub. 100% would recommend!
T. K.
Great little pub with alot of history.
B. O.
Friendly staff, great food and camping across the road. Doesn't get much better. 👍😎🍺
M. R.
Full of memorabilia to days long gone large servings of food enjoyed the experience
S. M.
Lovely atmosphere and great food and attentive service. Really enjoyed our time, good old fashioned country pub!!
J. O.
Lovely country pub. Accommodation quirky and fun. New owners and rooms have been updated since we were there last year. Pub food fantastic. Good menu. Had dinner there and breakfast and both meals were enjoyed by all. Evan and Gail the new owners are great and we wish them all the best
K. W.
We had a thoroughly good time last Sunday on our first visit to Nobby for a few years. The road was lined with cars and vans, and we realised immediately that the pub is still thriving, despite COVID restrictions. Atmosphere inside was warm and lively. Staff were obliging and cheerful, and although very busy, attended to our requests immediately. Given it was Sunday lunch, there was understandably a long wait for our meals to arrive. Delicious pub food, cooked well and ample serving sizes. Since we couldn’t get through it all, we were offered take-away packs. This is an interesting country pub with lots of character. If you are after fast food, just go elsewhere. If, on the other hand, you enjoy spending time with friends or family and can muster some patience while having a drink and waiting for good pub fare, it’s a great destination not far outside Toowoomba, and one worth supporting.
T. M.
I love Rudd's Pub. The atmosphere is country pub mixed with local museum. Memorabilia from Steele Rudd and Sister Kenny covers the walls so there is always something to keep you occupied while waiting for the amazing food. The meals are all delicious with huge servings, making it difficult to choose what to order! The staff are all friendly and helpful.
P. A.
Best food in Nobby. Plenty of memorabilia and other things to look at. The staff are really friendly and always up for a chat.
K. L.
Lashings of delicious home cooked meals. fantastic.
G. R.
Huge meals and lots of memorabilia from past years.
P. A.
The last time I visited Rudd's Pub was early 2019.The brand new owners (NOT the current couple) were hopeless. The man just whinged when I asked for a takeaway bottle of wine and tried to charge table prices. The wife couldn't cook, and the son thought asti spumante was champagne. I am so pleased that a new couple have taken the pub over, and having read the posts and reviews I will surely go back again.
N. C.
Meals were fantastic
M. W.
Excellent food , good value for money.very friendly staff
L. G.
Interesting pub. Excellent food. A couple own it and have for 4 months. The wife went out of her way to help. She was great, the husband not so wonderful. Closing a pub at 9.20pm asking guests to retire to their rooms... not impressive. This was made up someway by a cooked breakfast that could not be beat. Bit pricey for both rooms and beer. Interesting, but unlikely to return.
T. H.
Part of Aussie History it was great.
K. a. C. R.
Great service, awesome chicken schnitzel burger.
E. W.
Been before, nicer meal this time.
T. B.
Great food, excellent country hospitality and a quirky interior make this a fantastic stop! The pub itself is 5 stars.
The accommodation, 4 stars - a very fun bathroom that needs to be seen. Bit of a squeaky bed and poor water pressure on the bathroom tap. Other than that, a top stay at a fun little location!
L. R. (.
Gotta put Rudds onya to do list. Great Tucker and a bit of history.... I'll be going back.
M. W.
Excellent home cooked pub meals. The only complaint if you can call it a complaint was the meals were to big. Cold beers. Fire place and excellent hospitality.
L. S.
This was a great little pub to stop off for a cold drink. Lots of history with pictures and other paraphernalia on the walls everywhere. The dining area had a heap of character too. Well worth a visit
G. C.
One of the best Ozzie country pubs you could ever wish to go to. We had a large group booking, and a very generous 2 course meal at very reasonable cost was delicious.
Has a wonderful 'yesteryear atmosphere, nestled in a beautiful little country area.
This pub should not be missed if you are in a 50km radius of the place.
V. B.
We just spent 3 nights in the newly renovated cabin out the back of the pub. Beautiful. Couldn't wish for better hosts, service, food and the company of the locals. Great getaway for a few days.
J. N.
Love coming here. The bar staff and patrons are always friendly and inclusive with visitors. Yummy pub good. Lots of old photos and items. Memorabilia could all use a good clean as dust doesn't add to authenticity really. Good has become expensive for the basic fare.
t. r.
Great hospatity and knowledge, food was awesome drinks went down well!.Perfect end to a road trip with my bestie.
C. R.
A must do, not only is the pub bursting at the seams with history and charector the food is plentiful and delious the hospitality is first class. The bread and butter pudding was utterly scrumptious. We travel all the way from Brisbane to go to this pub and it never disappoints.
L. G.
Large meals and quick service. Very average amenities
J. H.
Wow wow wow
What an awesome experience
The new owners Evan and Gayle are the most nicest polite and positive people.
Was a busy day, they and the staff where nothing but extraordinary and friendly.
Great pub
Lots of character.
Will be back soon!
Recommend it to everyone!!!
N. L.
It's just down the road from me and my friends and I love it, great food, great service and the meals are huge and very good prices. There is a lot of history in this pub and the amazing photo's of life in the olden days takes you back in time. I come from Brissie and moved to this area around 8 years ago and off the 4 local pubs in this area, this one is the best hands down. We have had many celebration dinners held here and since I come from the big smoke I know good value when I see it and taste it.
V. R.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff, excellent delicious good sized meals, lots of local history on display around walls and in the rooms etc, a truely exceptional country pub.
N. S.
Great place, friendly with interesting history of the author of Dad and Dave. Good meals with crispy chips.
K. S.
Enjoyed a visit with friends, food was amazing.
Love the character of the pub and all it's memorabilia to go with it.
V. H.
Used to love it that's why we came back. This time service extremely slow, one of the 4 meals ordered was wrong - they got their vegetables and salad request wrong. Group that arrived and ordered after we placed our order received their meals before us... we had to ask what had happened to ours, they just said sorry then finally brought out 2 meals, then a delay before the last 2 came out and then one order was wrong.
b.
This would have to be one of my best night outs the atmosphere of Rudd's Pub n memorabilia and not to mention the amazing food also accomadating staff is a winner hands down we will be back for sure.
J. A.
The whole pub centres on the Dad and Dave culture, which rightfully it should given Steele Rudd's connection to the area. However, at times the venue seems to extort this virtue a little much. Food prices are quite expensive, along with drinks. The amount of seating area compared to the size of the bar is also abnormally large for the area, perhaps trying to capture those seeking the nostalgic element. That said, the food is nicely cooked, with a wide range on offer. Personally, though, I'd prefer not to dine here unless accompanying nostalgia buffs, for the steep prices I can't warrant that.
A. W.
Friendly staff, great setup, lots to see in this little pub. And rissoles to die for!
L. S.
We have been going to Rudd's for many years now and have always loved it. The new owners are lovely and welcoming and the food is always great. We highly recommend this amazing piece of Queensland history.
C. L.
Great pub with so much memorabilia it could be a museum. Fabulous meals and friendly locals in a very tidy and picturesque town.
P. F. M.
Great historical hotel
T. W.
Huge meals for Sunday lunch! Great atmosphere.
D. G.
Good quality big meals, worth a visit, plenty to see inside.
R. W.
Very friendly meals are brilliant couldn't eat it all well worth a visit cheers roger
D. C.
Excellent, excellent but waited 2 hours for meal. Week days for me as I can. Really great venue.
K. T.
Fed a family for a very reasonable price. Kid's meals are enormous for the price, and my kids are big eaters. Really nice food and a lovely hostess. Will come again.
J. B.
Nice meal well priced large portions good atmosphere
W. H.
Hidden gem.... 100 year old pub. Great atmosphere and the size of their meals!!! Make sure you bring your appetite! Had the small lamb shank.
M. I.
Really worth a visit...possibly unique. Love Nobby the tiny town as well. When I first saw name I said 'Ugh' thinking of a PM of that name but I think it is to do with Dad and Dave of Aussie radio fame.
Busy Sundays for lunch.
S. S.
Food was good and more than we could eat but had to wait just over 1hr to get it and steak was well done instead of medium rare

Great atmosphere, amazing food, and attentive service. Our beef and reef was perfect as was the Neptune chicken 🧡🧡🧡. We'll be back!!
B. W.
My first visit to this iconic establishment (RUDD^S PUB)was back in 2005 while my wife and golden retriever (PRINCESS)were travelling around Australia. We were so amazed with all the old artifacts from yesteryear along with th news print articles on the writer of the radio show called DAD AND DAVE. Since that date we Have been back on many occasions to enjoy the wonderful good sized meals as well as all the antique displays of farming and general informative material found within these walls. There is a few rooms for accommodation and a small caravan parking area across the road for travellers to stay at.

Stopped in on a whim for lunch. Amazing food, great historic pub and wonderful staff. Highly recommend visiting here.
R. K.
Rudds Pub punches above its weight . We always have a delicious meal and I can’t recommend the steaks highly enough. We rarely find a better steak anywhere in Toowoomba and we eat out regularly. The historical interest Rudd’s offers also is worth the visit . The Australiana hanging on the the walls ....and roof, is worth the short drive to Nobby from Toowoomba. Experience country hospitality at Rudds !
D. H.
Friendly staff and great pub food, country style, surrounded by Dad and Dave memorabilia!
