Food was good, I'll leave out the chips next time, bar a bit noisy so opted for a quiet area on the other side in between the main bar and the pool room. Service was great, friendly staff, easy to order and waiting time was minimal. Steeped in history, worth just popping in for a beer to learn a bit more about the pubs history

Good selection of beers on tap, a mix of gin cocktail specials which went down well. Good space for diners, interesting menu to chose from with daily specials. We had the "Reuben" a classic and BBQ pork ribs and slaw. Both were filling, very enjoyable and both came with a side of fries.

I was there with a group this Saturday when a large protest passed outside the hotel. This was the first weekend of the Qld vaccine requirements for entry which is making things difficult for bars to manage. Because of all the chaos the area we originally booked was closed but the manager handled the situation so well, made alternative arrangements so that we were still able to enjoy our time there and just generally handled the situation with professionalism and great customer service. Awesome job from the team at The Fox!

Great place to be in, good pub with multiple places to go to - outdoors, indoors, indoor outdoors with a courtyard with some rooftop options as well. The food is good with good range of drinks although they ran out of some of the wine bottles - cheeky! The pub quiz done on Wednesday was expertly led by a really friendly quiz master. Good vibes all round, recommend the place!

Absolutely loved the service, the waitresses were lovely, wonderful and kind to my friend and I this afternoon. The food was amazing, you get a good value for money a serving of chips for $10 dollars and it was a whole plate. The drinks here were wonderful too, really topped off our day after a nice visit to the GOMA so thank you so much!

Went with some friends and they were out of just about every menu item, and 2 of the 4 veggie pizzas. The broccoli pizza I did have was cold, rubbery with undercooked broccoli. Rooftop bar is lovely but don't go here for food.

Absolutely love the happy hour pizza and burger! Such a steal! The atmosphere is really good for groups too, you can just chill and hang out with your friends all night long. We booked via OpenTable and they reserved a really good table for us. Plus the staff is really friendly and provide very honest recommendation 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Had a good time here for Riverfire, unfortunately they didn't organise the night very well with huge ques for drinks and ever changing policy's on how many drinks you could get at a time. it really felt like they had understaffed the night for the amount of patrons... the fact they kept running out of glasses showed it wasn't well planed. but... its a great location, I really like the roof top bar and the staff have a good attitude, worth checking out and grabbing a drink.

Went for a private party. Manager and bar staff, fabulous. Do not hire in house photographer. Hopeless. I had to walk him around to get him to take pictures. He called me rude and said he would charge me $50 more an hour if I kept bothering him. ( By asking him to take some photos). It's a shame I can't show this on the rating. But I wouldn't want it, to reflect on the other staff.

Nice beer selection and the calamari entree was tender and tasty. Love the hanging decorations of beer tins! The 'alley' set up inside the hotel is reminiscent of a 40s industrial scene and has great character. Friendly service. There is even coffee and tea (good stuff) if that's your poison.

Thank you for hotel, officially my go to place for food drinks and just chilling out. Vibe is great, the atmosphere here is vibey, live music, packed with ppl daily, thanks to their happy hour weekday specials, $4 pizzas and burgers daily mon- thur. Be sure to try the Johnny cash, qld hottest pizza, no jokes it's a cracker, had me by the kahonas, but I beat it in the end and got my tick on the Johnny cash vs the ppl score board. On the taste scale the pizza was epic, perfect in my books, size was small but $4 whatcha expect, it was enough to fill me, this must be noted.I love this place, it is now my daily go to, be sure to visit.

Went in ordered a pint and burger - the waitress very kindly, expertly informed me that I could also use the QR codes at the table to order since I had my 6month old with me. Great burger, simple cheese burger with mustard, ketchup finely diced onions inside and a side of chips. Good stuff for a sneaky pub lunch!

$9.90 Pizzas were large enough and very tasty. The vegan cheese option was a great touch to include more patrons. Something about the chips was so yummy it kept me going back for more. The staff were friendly, live band was great. We were easily able to book a table in advance as it gets packed out on a Friday night. Thankyou for a great night, will be coming back

Nice, lively pub. Was in Brisbane for a work trip and wanted a Parma and a beer, and I wasn't disappointed. Had one of their famous Parma's, was very good. Great prices. Would recommend this pub if your in the area and looking for a great typical pub meal.

I visited around 5pm on saturday and the main bar was quiet but a few more piled in toward 6pm. This is a huge room that still has some old pub aesthetic with cozy modern touches. The staff were funky and freindly and professional. The clientele is diverse but modern. I used to get the impression this was a bit of a footy yobbo pub when i drove past but the crowd were better than i expected. Drinks were about $1.50 more than i usually pay in other pubs. Not sure what happens later on a weekend but judging by the huge floor space with no tables im guessing there's disco lights and the hokey kokey. Outside seating looks good.

Staff are fantastic! Such a chilled place to have a few beveraginos at. Highly recommend.

Used this space to celebrate a 22st birthday had full freedom to decorate and everything anyhow. The staff were amazing from the beginning to end. All av equipment was available and easy to use. We didnt even have to clean up after we were free to move the party on.

Surcharges for all electronic payments over the bar was a real turn off when I returned to The Fox for a lunch recently. Seemed a little extreme and out of place considering the current environment. There are equally great venues in the same area that don't charge like this. An extra charge on top of an already $13 schooner just felt a little bit strange. When next I face a choice, ill choose the pub that doesn't charge.

Came for the restaurant/pub. Thought the prices were pretty good and didn't expect much of the food. Boy, was I wrong. I had such a yummy burger! Chips were super fresh, everyone was friendly and catered to my special requirements. I'd say the cleanliness of the bathroom could be improved, but it wasn't bad to begin witg They have multiple environments that are all a bit different, so different crowds can frequent the same place and still feel among peers.

I like west end and the south bank, I live in bundaberg and travel to Brisvegas occasionally and when I stay I usually stay in west end. So the fox 🦊 is a convenient spot to stop on the way out and the way home. I am fairly old, so I'm not grooving withe the young folk, but I like stopping at the pub and watching the passing parade. I have never been to one of there functions and it is still covid-19 time so the crowds are diminished but it is still a solid venue. I have never eaten here, the food looks boring, standard pub fare, I don't come to Brisvegas for boring pub grub and I no longer play the pokies so this is a very limited review.

Great spot for an afternoon drink. We were up on the roof, shame about the plastic glasses but I guess they need to make sure some idiot doesn't knock one over on some poor unsuspecting passer by. Bar staff up there were extremely disappointing too. What seemed like the bar manager was very good and welcoming, unfortunately she wasn't supported by her bar staff. Ordered some dip on the side for the burgers and chips we ordered which was not input correctly on the bill. When we made them aware no one was really interested, in the end the bar manager had to get it byvwhivh time all our food was gone.

I got a pizza (maybe called a New Yorker?) which was basically a Margherita; it was very bland and really quite underwhelming. Accessibility wise it isn't that great for people in wheelchairs, you can still gain entry and move around but there really isn't a lot of room to navigate the different parts of the hotel. Staff were friendly and tried to accommodate myself and my friends as best they could but limited space meant there wasn't proper room for a group of disabled people in chairs to socialise over a meal. Because of the size and busyness of the night orders were mixed up and delayed by some time, I ordered a burger well in advanced of some people in my group but they received meals before me.

I went for lunch on a Saturday and I had a New York pizza which was delicious and had a great base to it (and a happy surprise of being half priced between 12-2pm daily which I noticed after ordering). I also had the pleasure of sampling some fries from my partners plate while waiting for my pizza and they were amazing. The service I experienced was great, but members of my group had ordered about 15 minutes or so before I did and the parmigiana frome one order came in a normal amount of time but the burger from the other order (ordered at same time as the Parma but on a different order) came well after I'd already got my food (over half an hour wait time for the burger) and when it arrived the chicken in the burger was quite hard and overcooked according to the person who ordered it. The table over from us was at the counter on their way out wanting to get a refund and leave (from what I could ascertain) when their food arrived. I'm not sure exactly how long they'd been waiting but I imagine a while. I will definitely be returning but my advice would be if they are busy it may be quite a long wait and not great if you have somewhere to be. If you are wanting to make use of their lunch special there will likely be a wait but at least for the pizza it was well worth it in my opinion.

What a great venue I was so impressed at the way this wonderful old building has been masterfully modernized. Keeping all the character whilst adding a modern and trendy vibe. The Fox has a great atmosphere and the staff I saw were very attentive and the bouncer down stairs was such a gentleman making sure we didn't trip on the step. One must never underestimate how these types of little gestures go towards making a huge difference in the overall experience of a night out.

This place is kind of great. It's got great atmosphere and they have live music once in a week. The staffs are nice and helpful. It has got many outdoor and indoor seatings that could fit a large group of people. There are plenty of beer and wine options that are not expensive and they are quite good. They often have happy hours for food and drinks. You can get a pizza for 4 dollars and a burger with chips for 5 dollars. The pizzas and burgers are made fresh and have vegetarian options. They are delicious and go well with beer. You can go have a drink and grab some pizzas and burgers with your friends and family. It is an extremely great place to hang out with your friends and spend some time.

Wow - what an amazing place. I was out walking one evening and came across The Fox Hotel and popped in for a drink and stayed for the burger! Some of the best burgers that I have had in a while and a real surprise location in Brisbane. Burger was cooked to perfection. Great venue with a good selection of beers and spirits! Well worth a visit.

Prices are cheap but the food is amazing as well, friendly and help staff (genuine people) Chef seems passionate about there food, from what I can tell from tasting there food. They have there own line of beer which from what I have hear is nice. Got a standard beef burger for $10 and would recommend anyone to give it a go. Will be coming back!

It's not very often a place is so good it makes me pull out my phone and write a 5 star review. The fella at the sports bar did that to me today. First time here and he made an impression, I'm definitely coming back. Never had a bar tender make me laugh so much, that man deserves a promotion.

Have been here many times in the past for work lunches. Food is great but would suggest more veg options (esp being close to West End - hippy central). The outdoor seating area is fine but I really dislike it when I'm enjoying my meal with company and smell the smokers sitting at the smokers section a couple of meters away! Big turn off.

Love this place...brings back memories of over 50 years ago coming from Melbourne when my Dads mate owned it! We would stay there! I have a photo up on the roof, long before the fantastic roof bar. Love that the original bedroom doors are still there and all the lovely lights and just the whole atmosphere. Great place after a concert to catch up with friends for a friendly drink. Make it a must to go there!

The staff at The Fox Hotel were great. We had a last minute change to our plans and needed a last stop venue for our stags party to have a few drinks and some food before we headed to our final destination for the night. I rang ahead and the staff said that they would have the room and accept stags parties. They did inform me that at the time the rooftop bar was closed but would still be able to serve drinks and food in the restaurant below. Thanks once again and our mate had a a great bucks night.

Plus one star for the actual variety of function rooms and spaces and their adequately porous privacy. Plus one for the ceiling space decore of the Roof Bar because interesting conversation starters can sometimes be hard to come by without a prop.

The line for entry can be really long some of the time which makes it hard to recommend during peak hours. Some of the staff are unfriendly and aggravating sometimes. Live music is nice and the party areas are nice. Would recommend if you want a light night out but not during peak times.

Great selection of tap beers! Try the German wheat beer local 'copy cat's. Can't tell the difference between the real thing. Snack foods are high quality and very well priced. Some suburban pubs charge more. Great ambience and interesting selection of background music. Well worth a visit and tipple. And did I mention the extensive wine list?

Bar staff were very unattentative of patrons; although many were working, the service was very slow. A priority of the bar staff was to serve one of the staff who was on break rather than other customers, especially to have a long conversation with him while the paying patrons had to wait. However, the pizzas were delicious and served quickly; the glassie was friendly and efficient.

Used to come here every Sunday after Latin Mass when they served $2 steaks.

Wobbly tables, staff were confused if top floor bar was open or not. We ordered gin spritz and they were nice. We recently held our daughter's 21st Birthday party in the Verandah Room at the Fox Hotel. Perfect venue for a party of 50. Our daughter's food allergies were catered for with some slight adjustments to the menu and careful attention to detail by our event co-ordinators, Pascale and Cara. On the big night we had Annie looking after us, along with Cam and Ripley in the bar. Nothing was too much trouble for them and the three of them did a brilliant job, even at the very end when poor Cam had to nicely kick everyone out. No one wanted to go home and a fabulous evening was had by all. If there was anything negative at all about the event (and I hate to say this because I was so happy with everything else), it was that the food was RIDICULOUSLY expensive for the items served and quantities. While I would not hesitate to recommend this venue to others, I would suggest they eat beforehand because many of our guests went hungry. I thought $500 worth would be enough finger food for 50 people but it barely touched the sides. This was grossly out of proportion to the value of the beverages package. Having said that, the food we did get was very good.

I was in here yesterday and since it was on special, I ordered a pizza. Actually, I ordered a meat lovers pizza. What I received, was very tasty. However... it could hardly have ever been considered a meat lovers, with just six pieces of meat. I actually ordered extra meat and got three very small rashers of bacon on it as well. I made my disappointment known to the duty manager and was offered either a refund or a free beer. I chose the latter. Now I'm back here today and the staff on duty now, know nothing about the beer I'm supposed to receive "free". No doubt my freeby will be honoured, I just need to be here when that particular duty manager is on duty. Mixed feelings... :( and :) Generally, the staff are very pleasant. The cost of the beer is exy. But the drawcard for me, is that this place is a pub, that still looks like a pub of old.

Came for a work function. There's a few private spaces upstairs to choose from. As there were 20 of us, we got one of the the smaller rooms - felt like a French boudoir which was cool. There's a larger space outside with a private bar overlooking the main foyer area. Our room wasn't air conditioned so it was muggy as. But staff provided plenty of iced water which was nice. Food was rather unoriginal - pizza, spring rolls, kebabs, etc. but we had a great time.

Over the years it went from being a great venue for a weekly meet-up I'm a part of to somewhat inadequate due to poor lighting, increased music volume making it difficult to converse with your group. Staff turnover has increased quite a lot in the last year, bringing with it inconsistent drink prices and a bit hit and miss service levels.

Went to the Fox's new restaurant The Meatball Company after hearing that they had undergone renovations - must say it was very different from the last time I was there! No more scummy carpet and cheap steaks - the few meatballs i tried were super tasty and the choc hazlenut ice cream sandwich my partner and i shared for dinner was INCREDIBLE! Decor was really cool too with chalk drawings and exposed lightbulbs and what not. I'll definitely be back.

Looks like the only racist here is the one pointing out colours in retaliation because someone can't responsibly drink and gets wasted before they even arrive at the venue (pre loading is awesome dude!!!) haha!!!! The fox was a nice night out, little bit of mess on tables at times, and some of the bar staff need to realise that it's not a matter of national security... Just serve drinks and be friendly.. if you want to be loud and trashy, try a local tavern or better still go somewhere that only accepts ethnic people. Can't have a white man ruin your night 😂 The Fox... Pretty ok, no drunks!!!!

Just had the best day at The Fox. The two girls working today were exemplary in their job.

Great atmosphere and service. Great idea to have private functions in the terrace. Summers might be a bit uncomfortable for the terrace parties though.

Good place, however the soap dispenser was depleted/broken at only 6pm on a Saturday night with a booking for a few hundred people. At least there were paper towels
