We had a function here for 150+ people. It's a great location and the staff were friendly. The food provided was ample. A lot was actually left uneaten. The only issue we had, was after telling several staff members that we had a few coeliac, the gluten free options came out surrounded by pastries.

Had a work function in the sports bar, although the space held over 70 people, I'd recommend a cap of 50 if you're thinking of holding a gig there as the acoustics are poor. Good food and service from the bar staff make this place worth considering for smaller events.

Enjoyed a Sunday lunch function at the Lord Alfred! Wow this Hotel is amazing, so many rooms and spaces to choose from, all of which are immaculate. Great function venue! We had our engagement party upstairs in the verandah room and the staff and venue were so helpful and professional. The room is great, with your own private bar and bathrooms, and the guests loved having the option to go outside and enjoy the balcony. Only wish we had ordered a few more platters as food was a bit light, but it was otherwise a perfect night.

Fantastic venue. Recently enjoyed our son's 21st Birthday party in the Verandah Bar. The room was perfect with plenty of space for groups to gather and mingle. Pool table was a hit and it was nice to have the outdoor verandah space as well. Food was great and flowed well throughout the night. Staff were incredible and very attentive - especially Tim, Dan and our bartender Abby. Would highly recommend The Lord Alfred as a party venue.

The Lord Alfred is Brisbane's best kept secret. I hosted a family dinner for my daughter's 21st birthday in The Watch House and I could not be more pleased. It's very difficult to find a function room for a small intimate dinner party and The Watch House is Perfect! And it comes with historical value and atmosphere that just cannot be duplicated. Every staff member - from the Sales Manager, Luke, our Head Waiter, Matt, and Security man (who looked for and found my pearl earing at the end of the evening) were exceptional! Luke and Matt went above and beyond to ensure everything was just as I wanted. Matt was exceptional! Our meals were superb and well priced. I can confidently say my guests, my daughter and I had a wonderful evening. Thankyou to everyone involved in helping me deliver a fantastic 21st celebration for my daughter. 😊

been here a number of times before and after a football game..The upstairs balcony is the only spot to watch the world go by, especially pre state of origin! Multiple drinking / eating areas in the venue offer great choice depending on your needs.. :)

Had a great night there with friends on St Patrick’s. Awesome place But was educated by a bartender that jagar bomb should be 30/30 (30ml jagar 30ml red bull) after I asked for more red bull when I saw the drink he made. lol

I went to the Lord Alfred last Saturday and let me tell you, I literally want to spend every Saturday for the rest of my life there. The customer service is outstanding from everyone in that place, special shout out to the bartender (he was exceptional!!!). We ordered the half a kilo of pork ribs, it was so delicious and it only cost $12.50!!!! Half price on Saturdays 🙌 Not only that but they do free pool upstairs! It was 10/10 in every possible way!

We had our engagement party at the Lord Alfred on 8 June 2019 in the verandah bar (upstairs). First of all, the space was amazing and had a great atmosphere. Everyone kept commenting how great the space was (which we got all to ourselves, including our own bathrooms). The large bar ensured that our guests were always served promptly. Good selection of wines and bars, which our guests also loved. The stuff were friendly and helpful. Also, great value for money considering the size of the space and privacy. Would definitely recommend for your next event! We had around 130 people at our engagement party.

Great pub. Lots of clean light filled well designed spaces indoor and outdoor to choose from. Service by Georgia was excellent - fast and friendly. Food was hot and the servings generous. Chips were crunchy. The desserts were delicious. Prices were very reasonable. Definitely recommended.

It's changed a lot since I was last there as Hotel LA. Doesn't seem as cold and sterile as it did when it first changed owners. Seems a little bit nicer in there now after the changes and removing the evil poker machines.

I booked a surprise birthday party for my partner Russell with Georgia at the Lord Alfred, and everything was perfect. Georgia was so accommodating with the little details which I’d requested….hanging my Happy Birthday sign, looking after the birthday cake, setting up the area so that we were somewhat private and instructing dedicated staff to look after us. Our dinner was terrific….the steaks excellent. Thank you to all the staff who looked after us last Wednesday….you did a great job and everybody was very happy.

The Lord Albert Hotel is warm and welcoming . A lot of hard work has been put into the hotel and it shows .So many seating options to choose from . We called in for lunch .I had the Lord Albert Tempura prawn burger on a Charcoal bun big plump prawns,avocado and salad. Crisp tasty chips on the side. Hubby had Char grilled slow cooked sirloin steak chips salad and the best pepper sauce which I grabbed for my chips.He was very pleased with his meal too. Topped of with a couple of cold beers. We will certainly be going back .

After googling the closet pub to my house that I haven't tried, I came across the lord Alfred. Welcomed as soon as we walked in the door by Aaron who's service was lovely. After ordering lunch (pulled pork taco and spaghetti and meatballs), we walked past the pass of the kitchen to be greeted by the head chef Jeff. He had a lovely chat to my partner who is also a chef and personally brought our meal out. We were then greeted by the venue manager who took the time to see how everything was along with savannah (waitress). The meals were also amazing especially for the price. It may be pub food but it is certainly made with love. With my partner and I both being in the industry it is lovely to get the quality and service we give ourselves when we work.

Hey hey. Yet another place to go where the food service and atmosphere us very welcoming. Went here for my sisters 60th birthday. We had. Cornered off area with the outside balcony attached. Was a great space for about 30 - 50 people. My sister put a tab on the bar. Not sure how much but it didn't seem to run out before most of the people left later in the evening Mind you I was drink it by ginger ale so didn't exactly eat into the rabbit very much myself. But she also had platters going round with food. Everything from squid and calamari. Battered eggplant and zucchini. Mini burgers and hot dogs. Grilled prawns and spring rolls. There was ample food on offer and there seemed to be heaps. The staff were all lovely and friendly while bringing the food around. I think there was music playing in the background. Not sure if hotel supplies that or whether my sister organized that, as her husband is a DJ. My sister had a lively cake which the hotel supplied plates and forks for it to be served once it had been cut. Again not sure if that was an additional cost for cakage. All in all my sister was very happy with the evening as was I. Everything was very nice and wasn't over crowded with other people in the hotel. If you have a function coming up or you just want a night out for dinner with friends give it a go. Parking can be found at the barracks across the road. And the hotel will validate your ticket so you only have to pay 10 dollars when the validate your ticket. So give it a go. Enjoi Cheers.

Functions co-ordinator Samara is absolutely wonderful and so is the entire team. Some places have staff who avoid eye contact to keep from having to help you; at Hotel LA, it's the opposite. Everyone was so helpful and accommodating. It made our function there a delight and I couldn't recommend highly enough. Can't give 5 stars as the ladies toilet stall doors do not close properly and swing open if not held while you use the toilet.
