Great place for a meal in South Bank. Check out there Wednesday $20 specials and get a free beer or wine. Great food in a great location. Friendly staff couldn't recommend highly enough
F. P.
Best steak ever! We popped it unplanned for the Wednesday $20 special after visiting the Queensland museum with my partner ,son and baby. First steak in Australia cooked to perfection. The green peppercorn sauce with the steak was good too.The fries were perfect as well just the perfect amount of salt. Also the honey mustard sauce on the salad was divine! Best value for money ,I mean steak and a pint for $20, can’t get better than that. Staff was very accommodating with my lawful reason not wearing a mask and that just made it better. Thanks guys will be back soon!

Who remembers The Plow Inn at EXPO 88?
It looks a little bit different from all those years ago but the food & drinks are still good. Cheers

This was a pleasant surprise. We went for the picnic specials, but I ended up looking through the regular menu. There are a lot of gluten free options and many other dietary requirements. I ended up getting the pizza. The GF base was amazing. As good as you can get. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere with the live music was fantastic. The online ordering system went down, but that's hardly the fault of the pub. Overall a great afternoon.
A. D.
Every section of the Inn has a different vibe and ambience. Sit inside for a quiet one, outside with the giant screen and the DJ or upstairs for live music. Loved the selection of beers on tap (could use some more local beers though). Nice and friendly staff. Enjoyed watching the Big Bash matches here with beer and grub. A must visit in Brisbane to enjoy the atmosphere!
J. M.
A great place to celebrate special occasions or just for a fun night out. The staff were friendly and the meals were reasonably priced and tasty. Enjoyed the live music and the venue had a friendly ambience. Will definitely go there again.
N. H.
Great food and great service. Lovely way to spend the day off with the family and also enjoy a sneaky pint up on the deck overlooking the city!
L. B.
Great little Sunday spot to enjoy the breezes and people watching of South Bank. The food is pub style but really really nice! The cocktails were also well done with great taste and lovely presentation. Definitely a local spot I’ll visit again!
C. D.
I think the employees were to blame for the great atmosphere , they were having so much fun it tend to infect the patrons. Best spot we found to hang for Nye.. cheers .
K. F.
Good beer nice pizza , the way simple pizza should be. Yummy base and well done. My son agrees!
D. M.
We had a party of 20 with a huge variety of meals. All the meals were correct, large and brought or around the same time. The staff are super friendly and helpful. It was a very warm night though which was inciting. Definitely recommend for a yummy and reasonably priced meal!
J. j.
Always a great Friday afternoon session or Sunday drinks. 3pm till 6pm $15 jugs of beer. Food upstairs is also really great. The live music ads to the atmosphere. Ideal to watch sports. The venue is open air so you don't feel hot. Great vibes. All round highly recommended.
S. J.
This huge cocktail was on discount and we could have in on half price. Would be great if there was more options on food.
P. C.
Had the reef fish and salad. Big chunks of delightful tasty fish. Beautiful! Well priced. Good service. Beers were uncomfortably expensive outside happy hour.
a. p.
Excellent beer! We love the $7 pint happy hour from 3-6pm. Great food and live music. Very relaxing place to enjoy the afternoon.
A. D.
Love this place. We came here on Tuesday and they had a special deal for all pizzas. Pizzas were just $14, I thought the pizza will be tiny or almost plain as in deals they're were always some catches but NO It was the opposite. The pizza was really large like an original size Italian pizza and it was fully packed with goodies, so it was awesome. We are happy that we used the Pizza Tuesday haha😁
K. H.
Had a lovely New year eves with friends. Food was great and plentiful, staff were amazing
L. M.
Great historic venue, friendly staff, table service and awesome atmosphere. Lunch servings were more than we could eat but delicious
P. M.
How about a traditional pub in the centre of South Bank which dates back to the 1860s. Happy hour from 4pm to 6pm weekdays and food specials with a beverages from $20. Our go-to during the week.
I. H.
Great venue and location, live music great if you want to sit and listen. Better to sit upstairs for conversations but then bar is down the very steep stairs. Venue could do with a spruce up and the smokers sections can put you off if approaching from that end, as it wofts into the main walk way. Always enjoyable though.
M. B.
Stopped by for lunch with the kids on a Sunday. Every single team member was friendly and helpful from the security at the front door to all wait staff and food team members. The food also didn’t take long and was delicious. Highly recommended.
K. M.
Service and food was ok. Booked online, got a call to confirm booking, asked for a specific area to sit, got sat upstairs in a totally different place 🤷♀️
J. b.
Great location, we were early lunch, table was sticky, chips are good but all else was average - nuggets, fish and parma.
Need to clear tables quicker to keep the ibis away.
s. e.
Great location. Menu options for diners with dietary requirements especially gluten free could be improved. Also the initial response to a request for a nut free meal was met with the usual disclaimers. However, once I spoke with the chef we were able to work out a solution. Overall an ok experience.
G. H.
Great place, meals were great, excellent cider, pitty they don't have Coke, only Pepsi.
Soft drink is best out of a bottle or can into a cold glass with ice,
Good sraff.
Will go again.
S. L.
Great place at southbank to stop for a refresher ale or whatever your poison is, or re power the body with some great tucker.
The building is a mix of old and new architecture, with inside, outside, upstairs or downstairs dining. Well worth a look
Highly recommend stopping in.
o.
Great spot for a drink and meal. Friendly staff and easy to manage ordering system. We started a tab for the sporadic ordering of our group. Worked well for our group. Food was nice and service was very quick. Well worth coming here to avoid the over-priced fast food court nearby.
T. G.
Had a ball. Happy hour drinx started at 17:00 on a Saturday which was fantastic. Jugs of cocktails n beer. We were drinking fruit tingles. 2 shots blue vok , 2 shots vodka lemonade and ice, $15. Not bad considering a standard shot of rum n coke in some places can hit around the $9 mark... Great ambience. Definately will return for a meal n drinx. Oh , also , the meals are extremely pricey, with a fillet steak costing $48 , and average price is $35-$40. Food was fresh cooked fast and decent sized. Out of my budget for eating out. I want to pay no more than 30-$35 for top item on the menu , with average pricing around $18-$25... The plough inn didn't cater for me in that regard...
B. R.
No place is perfect but this is damn close! Staff went out of their way to accommodate our group, so helpful and friendly even though they are being slammed by a rush of customers, they are calm, professional and they did their absolute best. Drinks and food, atmosphere and crew 11/10.
A. M.
Monday night $20 Ribs was so yum!!
Ordering on table was fast and efficient too.
K. L.
Amazing staff - thank you to all the staff at The Plough but especially Maz, Sophie and a bouncer whose name I never caught. A group of 26 of us showed up at The Plough without a reservation and the staff were so helpful finding us a spot, and really cheery and happy service. Thank you again you saved our night!
C. G.
Was great to sit back and relax on the upper deck overlooking South Bank. Beers where ice cold and the food was amazing had the 100 day grain fed rump and my partner had the parmigiana with a side of peking duck spring rolls that comes with a nice sweet chilli dipping sauce. Service was prompt and ordering through the app was a breeze allowing you to take in the view knowing you drinks and food will be brought to the table. So stop on in and give the menu a try while soaking in the atmosphere of the Plough Inn.
S. W.
We had a 60th there last weekend. It was awesome. The food was fantastic and there was lashings of it, the bar staff were terrific but Matt our functions manager was just unbelievable. So helpful, so courteous. Can't fault the place.
A. H.
The venue manager is the best (Tim), he looked after my work crew and made everyone feel important.
All the staff loved it, can’t wait to come back. Next time we will have to have a bigger party.
Thanks plough staff and Tim!
L. Z.
Too noisy, and they really can't cook steaks.
However, if you order anything else, the portions are huge, so you'll never walk away hungry.
New Zealand Black beer is sweet as.
S. C.
I don't usually bother to review but the kids pizza was hand made and amazing! The rest of the food was great. Beer selection is an excellent balance of more common and more "craft" beer choices too. Good lunch out.
D. Q.
An institution at South Bank! On my most recent visit, Mum and I had dinner and apart from the food and drinks being great the staff all made us feel very welcome. Definitely worth a visit if you've yet to check this place out.
A. S.
Fantastic venue with quality food. The floor manager came around to our table to make sure everything was good. Couldn't fault the service!!
K. B.
Love coming here. Food and drinks are always perfect, staff are lovely. Bonus points that i can bring my dog, he also loves the food and a fresh bowl of water. 5 stars from Simba as well.
D. B.
Awesome value feed, friendly helpful staff. Good beers on tap. Great location. $12 pizzas were delicious!
S.
Great fun atmosphere and you can bring the family during the day. Nice food but some of the meals are a little over priced where is the drinks are reasonably priced.
It's a little unfair that you can't book a table for a group of friends downstairs in front of the band that you like yet Facebook singles group have booked downstairs solidly every Sunday for 3 months and they don't usually have all 30 people that they've booked for coming along and they're not all buying meals. We're as I know everyone I'm bringing will buy food and drinks. I know some of the band members so I like to stay up close not be sitting right up the top far away from all the action.
Otherwise the place does have a nice atmosphere and is great on a Sunday afternoon for entertainment and is very relaxing. It's a very busy place and the staff do very well to cater for the crowds.
C.
We had an unplanned father's day lunch here on Sunday and the staff were fantastic, squeezing us in without a booking. We had our pram with us and they helped carry the pram upstairs to where we were seated. All the staff at the bar and who served lunch were all so friendly and professional. Great food and overall experience.
S. M.
We thought we'd just grab a quick drink and ended up staying for hours. Fabulous venue, remarkable staff, especially the bar crew, so friendly and genuinely nice even though incredibly busy, food was so yum, hats off to the kitchen and service was top notch.
E. A.
I've had a really good experience in this place.. Food and service were on point, the staff were amazing specially Danni she was very friendly and helpful. I'll definitely recommend this place to my friends because of people like her
d. w.
Lovely meal ,and the young girl singing was great( sorry not to get her name)bit of a luxury to go to a pub these days
D. J.
Great old pub at the popular South Bank. Food and service is excellent. Gets crowded at peak times so plan ahead.
I. L.
Service excellent. Good food with variety. Great ambience. A pleasant way to spend the afternoon.
S. B.
Great atmosphere; we were upstairs for lunch, lovely breeze and not too noisy. Great pub food, generous servings and reasonably priced. Will definitely be back!
J. C.
Always a great time at the plough! We had a lovely balcony spot on New Year's Day and the view was beautiful. The staff were so friendly!
K. Q.
Great service cold beer and food is not to shabby. Place is clean and a busy little hub to find that special some one ,😉😉😉😉😉 or have a heap of laughs with friends .. smash those beers down ... Drink responsibly I mean ... Right !!
N. A.
I love the place, there is usually a long wait for food but this time it was quite quick, service was friendly. I had the special beef cheeks which was foodgasmly tender, loved every bite. My husband had the sirloin, ordered medium rare but was overcooked. The flavor was still nice but quite chewy. For the price tag, except perfection. Will still come back because overall excellent food
e. a.
Beautiful atmosphere, lovely staff and we enjoyed Brisbane's Olympics victory (Olympics Games 2032), on Wednesday, 21st of July 2021.

Work Xmas Party
Food Great
Atmosphere Awsome
Thanks
Team Plough Inn
T. S.
By far the best lemon lime and bitters I've ever had but not so impressed otherwise. Fans were on full blast on a 26 degree day so it was freezing. Garlic bread was too salty, as was the calamari which was pale and otherwise bland. Quite loud as well and they don't bring water to your table. Overall pretty meh
M. B.
Good-ish grub! 3/5! Luvly atmosphere and the live entertainment was a great cover solo artist.
R. G.
Nice place to eat and good specials but food was cold even though not busy.
C. C.
Fantastic little market place one step away on Sunday. Public swimming pools nearby, man made beach 🏖 — free entry.
Food was disappointing, too salty for my personal liking. Chicken rings coated with thick and soggy curry powder wasn’t nice at all. Both my friend and I got sick stomach after this.
The cider was beautiful tho.
A. N.
The food was great but the staff was even better. The service we received from Georgia on Saturay was fantastic, and we were pleasantly surprised when she actually knew a lot about the history of the pub and was happy to talk about it with us. Will definitely be back 👏
A. P.
Took a walk down Southbank looking for dinner and decided on here.
Large venue with a great live music.
Menu was extensive, as is the drinks menu.
We decided on so much food. From the seafood platter, to the drunken Brisket, Rib Fillet, and these incredible halloumi chips.
My highlight is probably the halloumi chips, but I enjoyed the bbq bacon sauce on the Brisket quite alot.
There's wasn't a dessert option, but we left full.
B. L.
Cheap beer, great atmosphere and also tremendously good customer service. I really do coming to this place so if you haven't been yet be sure to come along!
J. C.
You get what you pay for here. I found the food simultaneously too salty and with too much sugar. Almost an MSG flavour. However, the chips were nice.
L. L.
Great atmosphere, Live Music and plenty of seating areas to enjoy a meal or drinks with friends. Highly recommended this establishment.
A.
What a lively atmosphere! The staff are welcoming and friendly. Toilet facilities are available. The food is really delicious and scrumptious! A bar with all the drinks you can imagine. There is security on busy days. Tables and chairs so you can sit and eat. Highly recommended! Great place to go with family and friends.
J. B.
Very nice place but was very busy yesterday due to being good Friday. The fish and chips w/salad was very delicious. Jim Beam was $11. I highly recommend this place and I'll be back for sure.
T. M.
Good view only,I had a chicken Parmi and it wasn’t good, overpriced and bad customer service from a back hair bartender that didn’t even say hi when we got inside.
C. W.
enjoyed a few cold ones with mates here during the week, great vibe, good food, brilliant service both bar and table
P. S.
We went in for Sunday sippers, Love the large range of beers in particular on tap that is much better than any other place in the area.
Quite often these is live music which is also a bonus.
G. A. (.
A great pub to enjoy a Sunday session, or to start a night out. Food and drink is pricey, but the quality and serving size of the meals is rather generous.
It is a very popular place, so expect lots of people, a wait time on your meals and a loud place in general. If you can get a table on the balcony, you'll get a good view of Southbank and the city.
R. B.
Enjoyed lunch here Saturday with friends upstairs, staff super nice and responsive, food delicious, thanks
H. E.
Was a nice vibe, the singer was great, pretty good atmosphere but only thing is it’s not great when you order an espresso martini and the bar lady rolls her eyes at you… other than that everything else was great.
W. T. S. C.
Great pub fair in the heart of Southbank. Great beer garden and plenty of undercover dining. Friday night was busy yet not too busy that you had to wait too long for drinks. A huge selection of the pub usuals with the addition of ribs and brisket. The only downside was the meals were a little cold and we collected immediately.
j. h.
Great old pub with good service and food, menu had some funky options including very tasty mac and cheese in half a pumpkin.
C. R. (.
Yummy food and very friendly staff..This is my favourite...ummm yum yum.. The pub and the restaurant just at the centre of Southbank Parkland area. You can see the the City of Brisbane and Queensland government building (very big and so proud) view from here. Feeling so relaxing and peace.
N. W.
Went l on a Thursday afternoon, great beer, friendly staff, had a selection of share plates and all of them were outstanding. Highly recommended.
a. b.
A young fella called Andy served me at the other week and I just wanted to say that he was a great waiter. Always smiling, nothing was too much trouble, just a lovely young man. I would probably up his pay if I were you 😌
C. L.
Very popular Southbank venue. Often have live music. Good food and drink selections and great atmosphere. Only criticism is that the music is too loud if you're even remotely interested in chatting with your company.
T. D.
They did a great job and made my night. The kitchen made my pizza even though I believe they had just closed. Our waitress Maz was so lovely and took care of us perfectly. Made me laugh a tonne.
My pizza was also super good and got a bottle of Moscato. Definitly will be back when I'm in the city again.
b. a.
Had a great experience here, bar staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. Was served by Laura and she was fantastic.
Loved the beer garden area too
V. D.
The food was excellent although ordering at the table is convenient, we had people who ordered the same meals first got mixed up and given to others who ordered later. Bit disappointing. Otherwise had a great time
J. B.
Nice pub for a drink. When trying to have a big family meal it was disappointing. They had run out of some of food and our meals all ordered one after the other came out with a large time differences. One steak meal was cold. Yuck
It made the children restless and the meals were very small. Would come back for a beer but not a meal, especially if it looked to be on a busy day. Shame it has potential. Some of the female staff could do with some customer service training, all the males staff were nice.
R.
All the food was delicious and the staff were great and really friendly, but the food made us sick after a short while.
D. M.
Had lunch here on a Sunday. Got in about 1pm, was pretty busy but prebooked table. Originally got a table in full sun but was abke to move when someone else left. Staff were really quick to wipe down before we sat down. Food did take nearly an hour to come out though. Food was ok but even once food come out there was nearly 10mins between 1st meal and 4th meal to come to table. Well set up eating area with tv's with sport on them and nice out door seating.
L. C.
Got the full rack of pork ribs which was huge and came with fries, corn and coleslaw. Not cheap at $45 but you won't leave hungry. Decent vibe and beers with some live music to fill the background noise.
n. r.
A great place to eat , we were made so welcome, and it’s really dog friendly we had our little fella with us and was warmly welcomed.
The staff were really awesome so refreshing we will definitely be back.

The Plough Inn is right in the heart of South Bank, and is just a great casual spot to meet up with friends and family.
Very affordable, and the food and music's great :)
N. L.
It's a lovely heritage listed building in a beautiful part of Brisbane. The food was delicious (I had beer battered snapper and the batter wasn't so thick that it overwhelmed the fish). My only real issue...we had a table booked for a work function and we were placed upstairs. There is no bar upstairs and there is no table service at the Plough Inn...going up and down the stairs all afternoon wasn't very enjoyable. All in all though, a great afternoon out.
M. H.
Beautiful food, best drinks, gorgeous location, brilliant helpful friendly staff, will be back soon :)
J. F.
The Plough Inn is consistently a great pub! Live music, great food, quick service. Great for catching up with some mates!
S. K.
Great venue and atmosphere. Any day of the week i would be happy to come here for a beer but probably not the food. The meals were average however they were of a reasonable size... sometimes size doesn't matter, it's the quality!
R. S.
A nice bar and pub. Can get very busy, particularly in the evenings. Parking a bit of an issue. Food here is good but somewhat expensive.
J. R.
Fantastic spot. Pre book a table. Service awesome.
S. J.
Place is pretty loose, good beers on tap decent price. Not that many bogans which is a nice plus.
A. D.
We had an awesome start to our night here, food and drinks were great!
Only mildly annoying thing was that the staff wouldn't let us order drinks at the bar, we had to wait at our table for someone to take our drinks order from there. It took a while to get their attention, it didn't seem like the bar staff let anyone know we were looking to order as we still had to just flag someone down.
Other than that, all was great. The live music last Saturday was fantastic as well, which we came downstairs to listen too for a while before we left. I look forward to returning soon 🙂
A. P.
Great atmosphere and services, I do enjoyed social withbmy deaf people were there. I would do come back again. Thanks
J. M.
Nice pub with great atmosphere. They have 2 floor if you won’t more quite 2nd floor is the best because it is little bit crowded on first floor. Love to hang out here and having beer with friends. Sometimes they have live music as well. Their food is nice too. When we were there chef was cook a big pan of rice so everyone can taste it before buying.
R.
Great place and great service especially during these times. Would recommend!
C. C. M.
Food was great service was nice. Got free salted popcorn love it it was tasty. Must try, chicken schnitzel!!
N. N.
Great service, clean venue and great food.
T. D.
Lovely staff, meal was great and nice atmosphere. Would definitely recommend to others. Thank you!!
S. M.
Great food, great atmosphere, recommended for your Saturday or Sunday session..
Happy Australia Day everyone!
A. N.
Always a great vibe here. We forgot to order the gluten free pizza. Drinking really good scotch could have had something to do with it 😆
Now they could have said ‘that’s my problem’ and that would be totally fair. Though …. They said ‘hey no worries, we’ll make you another one’
What defines a great business and its customer experience is what they do when something goes a little side ways.
The plough inn really showed me today what it feels like to have an awesome customer experience.
Well done all, it’s no wonder you’re an iconic venue and place that I will always come to before anywhere else in Southbank.
ps. The girl behind the bar was spot on with her gin suggestion 👌👌
B.
Phenomenal service. The beer and food are great, but the service is a standout
J. S.
Service was excellent 👍, food was nice. FOH staff very accommodating. Enjoyed the cocktails too.
M. T.
Always seem to start here every year, great buffalo wings. Beer towers availible which are pretty cool. Free mobile phone charging station behind bar. Weekend cider specials.
M. S. K.
An excellent venue for a family Sunday evening dinner. Great atmosphere & stunning views from the upper balcony. Awesome service from the friendly staff, delicious meals & cocktails enjoyed all round! We will certainly be back sometime soon. Many thanks Plough Inn staff👍🏽😃
N. S.
Was really great!
Thanks for the team fitting our little group in last minute and finding us a spot to charge up all our gear!
A. “.
Great beer, good food...and nice staff
...cheers for a nice lunch.
L. N.
I really liked the place! The waiter was very extroverted and liked to chat, which is not going to be to everyone's taste. However, I really liked him!
And when we started talking about cocktails he very helpfully pointed out that on Sundays they do $15 cocktail juggs.
Overall I thought the pizza I had was pretty good too. It's not the cheapest place at like $20-25 for most food items, but it was a nice size and wasn't left hungry.
No complaints! And may check back into this one if there is a Monday morning that isn't too important. ;)
P. M.
Great venue, great food
B. L.
Food is delicious and definitely enjoyed in the great atmosphere. Loved the love music and friendly staff!
A. B.
Had a great night with my oldest ever mates drinking schooners and eating fantastic ribs!
S. R.
Very crouded and always super busy. But it's perfect if you want a touristy bar
A. N.
Wonderful atmosphere, did us delightful.. and beer was super chilled
K. S.
Great steaks great place speakers where too loud
D. F.
Lovely food was great service excellent thank you
T. H.
The plough inn is a really good place for Xmas party or just going out for a few drinks 🍻🍻🍻
P. S.
Good environmental, enjoyed having Xmas party. Never thought can make it this year. Great service . Loved the live music
C. R.
Smoked BBQ pork ribs. Tasty, tender and good value for money. Highly recommended.
N. H.
Great atmosphere and awesome specials. Friendly staff and its central to everything in South Bank. It's my go to 👌
J. W.
Everytime i come here the staff are fantastic, the atmosphere is great and the food is top notch!
D. R.
The Plough Inn had some amazing atmosphere, staff were very friendly and the food was great. We ordered the "Meat Board" for lunch, it was delicious, my only criticism is that it's $48.50 and there was only 4 tiny pieces of pork belly, lots of other stuff and it was all delicious. Would highly recommend if your looking for a relaxing place to drink and chat with live music!
K. L.
Venue good, atmosphere good, staff good. Sirloin Steak meal was terrible.
N. M.
Food was ok, service ok atmosphere was satisfactory live music too loud
G. G.
Great food and awesome atmosphere. 👌
T. b.
Great service for students, lovely staff, delicous food. Great for hangouts but be sure to grab ur student mate 😉👍
P. H.
Had the Monday night full ribs special for $20. Great value for money. Will be back again.
S. M.
As a potato connoisseur, I heavily rate the starchy goodness here 😀
M. R.
Staff were awesome and super hospitable. The live music is wonderful and was perfect for our 30 - 50 age group. Nice selection of craft beer. Disappointments were no black beer on tap and food very pricy. Happy hour prices were excellent - 4-6pm.
S. R.
Good service, good pub good, and a pretty rad $12 pizza special on Tuesdays
S. P.
Lovely food, friendly service, reasonable prices
J. C.
We held our engagement party here over the weekend and it was excellent. The staff were great to deal with, nothing was ever too much trouble and the service was always very quick. We couldn't fault the food and drinks either. We'll be back for sure!
S. M.
Loved it. My family and I came into the plough for a bite to eat and some drinks for lunch and it was some of the best pub food I've had. Staff were all really helpful and kind and looked happy to be there. With the service, food, and location combined, I can't think of a better place to pop in for a few hours.

We had lunch at the Plough Inn and everything was really good but beyond good was Maz. She should be Employee of the year !! You are very lucky to have Maz working for you. She is awesome and truly epitomises customer service to the max 😊
V. S.
Had an awesome nite. Fantastic service and great function area.
T. L.
Love this place, regularly come here for a decent night out. Live music 7 days a week and staff are always willing to go that extra mile to ensure you’re enjoying yourself. Food is delicious and good value for money.
Highly recommend!
R. W.
Great pub. $7 pints of selected beers during happy hour. Great range on tap. Food is great. Top little spot.
J. M.
Great experience at plough today! I was greeted by the lovely Max and was served by Georgia who has to be the most lovely bartender I’ve met! So witty, efficient and has an amazing smile and positive energy that made us feel welcome. The food was brilliant, I believe we got our money’s worth.. Good on you Plough Inn staff
D. B.
Was better for dining up stairs last time we went. This time we were downstairs and not as good a spot.
T. W.
Food was great but customer service skills were lacking on entry. SMILE it doesn't take much. Such an effort to try & help me when checking on a reservation name for a surprise party we were attending last night. Also, my phone wouldn't scan QCODE when checking in and the staff usher was very rude and dismissive. Thankfully my BF's phone worked. After a horrible entry, put it behind me and had a great night with friends
B. S.
Popular pub close to river in middle of south bank. Good food and good selection of drinks.
S. C.
Always great service and food. Love this place!
A.
We visited the plough inn yesterday and it was one of the best experiences I have had in a long time! The lady on the door (I think her name was Maz) was so friendly and cheerful and made our visit really special. Also all the bar staff were beautiful to interact with as well. Great selection of drinks on tap and the live music created a fantastic atmosphere.
Would highly recommend The Plough Inn to anyone looking for a new Sunday afternoon pub! Thanks guys
D. H.
Excellent food, a good choice of beer and great ambience/music
J. D.
Great atmosphere, live music and staff, but super expensive!
G. H.
Amazing food. The steak and the club sandwiches were fantastic. The staff were really friendly and service top notch.
V. K.
Just had a lovely meal at the Plough Inn. We had a big group but were able to sit away from other customers. Kids meals were reasonably priced and included a drink and ice cream. Very pleasant, helpful staff.
R. M.
Don't expect fine dining. Expect great pub food great music and great atmosphere. Ribs were saucey and smokey meat pulled straight off the bone
D. J.
Great atmosphere, food was good as well as plentiful🙂
V. N.
Lovely staff. The music is great. Love being outdoors and the heaters keep you warm on colder nights.
J. B.
Came in for a few casual beers this evening and all the staff were very accomodating. I’d like to give a special thanks to Georgia for a great chat and even better service. Lili was also very nice. Great choice of beers on tap and $7 pints on happy hour. Will be back again!
M. A.
A bit pricey, but a well run and nice venue.
W. H.
Love it....this place pretty much speaks for itself. Live entertainment is good. The food is great and the beer is cold. They should sell schooners though. Pots pints or jugs are your options. Other than that, bloody beautiful mate. Go. Enjoy.
D. P.
Solid food, cold beer and fantastic staff! We went there for a Saturday night dinner. The staff were super friendly and great with kids. Would recommend especially for families.
J. E.
Good good cold beer friendly staff nice atmosphere. Check it out.
G. S.
Great food, good prices, nice atmosphere, live music.

Great Food, Greater Entertainment and the Greatest Service.

The steak used to be so delicious. But, not anymore. I think their quality is going down hill now.
A. S.
Great food. No table service but the buzzer system is efficient and reliable. Hard to find a table during peak time but generally people are friendly enough to share their space.
S. M.
Super friendly staff went above and beyond expectations. From the server who delivered the food and brought extra sides for the magnificent ribs. Then a bar man muddled some extra limes in the pints of ginger beer. They also didn't have a surcharge on a public holiday. So glad our friends booked lunch here. The kitchen even stayed open longer than usual. Well done Plough Inn team.Thank you for a very enjoyable arvo session.Six stars❤🧡💛💚💙💜
C. H.
Lovely place, good location. Wish had better air con.
G. K.
Asian lamb ribs are incredible. Server Maz was really great, good knowledge of the menu and awesome customer service ☺️
A. C.
My Wife, daughter, her partner & I had a great experience last Saturday afternoon/evening. In particular MAZ really looked after us - thank you MAZ 😃👍
M. S.
Went there for lunch and had some very tasty ribs, beef brisket and pork belly. There was the truck event on so jugs of beers were on special, a relatively full crowd and live entertainment.
K. H.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere! Never had a bad experience. As soon as you walk in the door you are greeted by a smile and friendly face. Thanks Maz and the awesome Plough team for always making my family laugh and feel welcome.
J. P.
I had booked for 9 people for dinner however for some reason the booking was lost. However the doorman was amazing at securing us a table and then moving us to a quieter location when it was too loud where we were. Despite being very busy on Friday night, the service was great and the food came out so quickly!
G. P.
Awesome staff, food and great entertainment for a Saturday afternoon 😀
J. S.
Our first family visit to The Plough today. The team who greeted us were extremely friendly and welcoming. We had a bit of an issue with one of our meals, but it was quickly resolved by Rafael, who was very apologetic. A great experience and a lovely atmosphere, we’ll definitely be back.
S. G. N.
A very busy place in the night I went, sadly also very expensive, but because it's busy it's got a good atmosphere. Also got cute staff.. 😉
(pics actually of South Bank which is only a few metres away)
S. H.
Amazing food and excellent dining area! Had a great lunch yesterday.
J. M.
can't fault this place, bar staff were super accommodating to our group, cheers
S. Y.
great venue, friendly staff, yep even security.
had a great nite.
C. C.
We had a function on the deck yesterday for a birthday and were so happy with everything. Kai did a fantastic job at ensuring that we were well taken care of throughout the whole day. Amazing service, thank you Kai!
S. C.
Good place to people watch, happy hour good $7 pints
D. M.
I’m not normally one to leave reviews but will when it’s due.. and I’ll absolutely 100% return to the Plough Inn!
Great location & atmosphere, not to mention great food! Maz at the front door was so warm and welcoming.. a huge asset to the business in what clearly is tough times for the hospitality industry! Looking forward to the next visit :)
M.
Loved it because it's dog friendly and they care for your fur babies...
D. H.
We often eat here when coming down for a show at Qpac. Whilst I understand the prices are at the higher end and it gets busy due to where it is, I am somewhat disappointed that the tables are sticky when we’re the first ones at the table especially in these COVIDSafe times. Also there is a surcharge with every purchase even though you have to be contactless. Surely it can just be put into the price. However food’s good, beers cold and I’ll be here next time.
E. B.
Go on a Tuesday!!! All pizzas are half price ($12 down from $24) and are huge!
This was always meant to be an above 5 ⭐ review 😊
T. W.
Great view and a cool breeze on the deck. Great service from the bar staff.
j. l.
Great atmosphere. The food was delicious. I wanna give the staff a big thumbs up. Amazing service from the doorman to the bartender and those who brought my food out. Made me feel very welcome. Thank you!
V. K.
Exceptional service from Maz, she made out sunday so much more enjoyable with her Bubbly personality and amazing vibe. Thank you so much. Will definitely be back
W. C.
Drinks are a little too expensive but still cold. Great atmosphere for a Monday night the young woman serving tonight was wonderful awesome service from her didn’t catch her nameiwillill be back again to try the food
S. Y.
Really good casual venue to enjoy a drink and nice food. Service is exceptional. Special mention of Kai who is super friendly and helpful. It's always a go to place for me to take friends and people watch.

Food and service was fantastic. Even had entertainment watching the bar girls chase away the Ibis.
C. R.
The ribs and steaks are soooooo good
Awesome vibes
S. S.
Nice lunch, great atmosphere. Shame my drink came in a glass coveted in lipstick. Got crowded quite fast with the lunchtime peeps. Staff were nice and friendly.
M. S.
This was the best end to the afternoon. James (the busboy) and the bartender were extremely nice and friendly, although it was busy, they went out of their way to personalise the experience. There was also live music which enriched the experience.
G. K.
Quite surprised,,it is still around,,haven't been to it since prior to expo 1988. A good night ,and feed
K. B.
Really friendly staff, great atmosphere and a nice place to meet up with friends. The inside lounge is worth showing up for in Winter, and the beer garden is lovely during the Summer heat. Just around the corner from Streets Beach, it makes a great lunchtime location for a nice pub feed
A. G.
Great place, great food, great service and great beer!
R.
Food was served quick. Had the Riverina 100 day grain fed rib eye steak 300gm and cheesy garlic bread which were delicious. We didn't have a booking and they were able to accommodate for us (we were a group of 6) at around 8pm on a Friday night.
T. N.
Good food and drinks. Only complaint the soap in bathrooms was empty, I then tried several hand santiser things on the way back to the table and none worked. Maybe some maintenance systems need updating 🤔
C. M.
Great value food and drinks with a relaxed atmosphere
T. R.
Relaxed, great location good food selection.
E. M.
Live music and good food, with a bar, what more to ask for?
C. C.
Fantastic from the greeter, knowledgeable and pleasant. What was offered was delivered from the waiting staff through to the food. I would recommend it to anyone and look forward to another visit next time I'm in Brisbane
S. I.
Always entertaining , not a bad cocktail list either , Long Island Ice Tea my choice 😍
L. D.
We had vegetable lasagne which was delicious but could have been a lot warmer, battered Barramundi with chips and salad and kids nuggets and chips. All meals were devoured.
M. J.
Service staff not knowledgeable about what ciders they had
R.
Amazing staff, decent choice of beer and the best pizza I think I've ever had. To top it off, it's in a great location and was unbeatable value. We will definately be going back here again 🍕🍻
R. B.
The Plough Inn is doing it tough, just as society starts to open up, they've been open again for only 5 days, but they looked after us nicely. I booked online, we were seated with distance from others. We had excellent steak, one was as ordered, but the other was closer to well-done than the medium rare we ordered. Still the sauces were good, the side salads nice too. Good drinks too.
T. S.
The new menu is amazing and the staff very friendly and welcoming
W. S.
It's a little dank inside, nice to sit outside though. The food is always good, but the drink prices are too exspensive for a pub. Be prepared to wait to get a drink.
K. P. (.
Had the beautiful pleasure of meeting kai, he made the night fantastic, was a pleasure to talk to and he made my night feel individually special.
He really adds to the flavour of what I hope to say is a amazing customer service. I have seen him around and he has always made me feel like im in the perfect spot to be in.
H. P.
Kai the glassy is the best glassy in the city. He made my night the best night by being a super genuine guy. And Aaron the bar tender is a total legend
Would recommend going here just to chat to these two gentlemen
M. M.
I was able to stop by today with a few mates around lunch to have a cheeky beer. Not only did we get that, but we were met with some great banter from our bartender Sean. His english accent and quick quips had me and the boys in fits of laughter! It reminded us of what it was like visiting a bar before Covid and we all needed that escape. Thanks Sean and the Plough Inn for making our time in Brisbane not just work, but a bit of play as well.
S. C.
Atmosphere great, Chicken parma a little small for the price, although it's central Brisbane
C. J.
Prices are high for the food. Not good of a selection of food. Food was only ok. 6 others on the table also agreed. No table service. It's in a convenient position. Won't be back.
D. B.
Cold beer and lots of people watching on a Friday night...win.
S. C.
A very popular place to go at South Bank. Lots of little spaces to be within the building. Integrated well in to South Bank parklands. The food seemed quite good.
It was a bit expensive for a pub!
I. R.
Friendly staff, relaxing, good food....we go there very often when we go to Southbank
B. M.
great beer food and service 👌😋
M. V. W.
Can’t fault The Plough Inn. It’s always a favourite place to dine in for a meal when we are in SouthBank.
Maz at the front door is very welcoming and has such a vibrant bubbly personality.
All the staff behind the bar and servers are extremely friendly, we can’t fault the place at all.
Would def recommend heading in to the Plough Inn.
H. B.
Nice atmosphere. The staff were very friendly. Good vibes. 😀
K. M.
Great atmosphere great food and local music.. if you like beef ribs... this is the place to go
F. W. (. b. D.
The vibe in this crowded street pub is undeniable. With live music, cool beers and delicious pizzas and burgers, it was hard to leave. Shout out to Kai who was awesome putting up with my humour.
j. b.
Great live music on the Friday I was there, it elevated the atmosphere and brought an otherwise fairly run of the mill pub up a notch. Dancing, drinking, dining and socialising followed and flowed well into a late night scene. Management are active through the crowd ensuring patrons are well looked after. Staff are fast and on point, never waiting too long for service and they take the initiative in quiet times to help out with table service. 10/10 will definitely be back to start our nights off, and probably end up staying far later then anticipated.
J. M.
Friendly staff, great venue & awesome food
L. C. R. P. L.
Great atmosphere every time we visit.
M. B.
Food is always quality, perfect location and Carlton Draught in copper tanks.
S. P.
Great atmosphere and friendly staff but on the pricey side.
G. M.
The beef was overcooked so back to the kitchen after a quick argument with the waitress... Nothing major but stop arguing when the guest told her that it was dealing with a chef. Chips are nice but used to be a bigger portion and a better flavour a year ago. The eggplant was delicious. Beers are excellent and cold... $95 for the meal and two drinks (2pp).. It's expensive but a nice experience.
S. R.
Considerably busy when I went and yet the staff still managed to regularly check on our table (we had 16 people as well). I always appreciate the musicians they have playing too)
F. R.
The plough always comes through with the goods!
Whether it’s a pop in for lunch with the kids after swimming or playing in Southbank or starting off there with a cheeky couple before hitting the city it’s great atmosphere and staff always impress.
Maz at the front door is always warm and welcoming and has a great sense of humour.
Staff behind the bar are always friendly and the place is always buzzing. Recommend it to anyone who is ever looking for a iconic pub in Brisbane to visit 😀
M. S. (.
Good atmosphere, friendly staff and decent happy hour.
However the food is expensive and underwhelming for what we got.
For example, I ordered the king prawn roll which was supposed to be filled with prawns, lettuce and smashed avocado (Menu extract attached).
For $24 I got 5 refrigerator cold prawns in a cheap hotdog bun with a scrap of lettuce and slice of tomato. There was no avocado, smashed or otherwise.
Please take a long hard look at what your kitchen is putting out and ask yourself (honestly) whether or not your customers are getting a decent feed for the amount of cash tendered.
The bar staff are friendly, hard working and the vibe of the place is good, but the kitchen was a bit of a let down.
B. A.
Good food. Plenty of drinks choices. Great people watching spot.
T. V. W.
I have only ever had the best time when visiting The Plough. Lovely food, great staff and fun atmosphere. A big thankyou to Maz on the front door who made our day as soon as we walked in. We hope to visit again soon.
G. S.
Very busy Saturday. Lovely food and just want to point out what an amazing job the Kiwi lady at the front did in managing the people at the front and thanks for looking out for my daughter and going out of your way to supply art supplies for her even though you guys had run out. 😀
K.
If you're a local, you know of The Plough. Good food, great atmosphere, had live music. Service was awesome, everyone was great. Has a nifty little smoking area for those who do that.
S. G.
Beer is so expensive. Better of going to a craft beer bar
J. J.
I’ve been a regular here for a while and have to say this place is absolutely excellent. Special shout out to Ayden and Claire who are always awesome and make the best drinks! The staff are always very accomodating and are super friendly - they really add to the atmosphere. The food is also excellent for the price and there’s a good variety of options.
A. H.
Great entertainment. Great beer. Barman suggested jug rather than 2 pints.
S. M.
My wife had the ribs which were to die for. I had the chicken schnitzel which was terrific. A great singer was playing . What a way to spend a Mon
S. L.
Great food, reasonably priced. Great beer , well never had a bad beer. Staff are friendly. Of a Saturday morning nice place to have a coldie around. 10 before it gets busy..because I am a bit of a solo guy... but if your an extrovert... gets busy quickly.. by a rule of thumb there tends to be no idiots and it exudes a real party vibe. Plan your evening there by ordering food a good half hour before hand. Like I said the food is very well prepared ... no shortcuts... and when the party starts the kitchen gets swamped. But I had no cause to complain.. nice place.. well worth an outing... outstanding as a local pub.. two floors... in short lived it.
J. D.
Staff werennice. There was a sign for jugs of cocktails in the toilet. But when asked they said this was an old sign and they don't do it any more.
I get they need to make money but we had a group of 10, everybody ate and all the lads had there jugs of beer. Maybe 3 jugs each. Poor effort plough Inn.
M. M.
Friendly staff, great atmosphere and lovely views
M. B.
Great location, heaps of tables to sit and chill out. Live music was a bloke belting out the tunes. Nice spot.
G. V.
Cool place to relax have a beer and a bite to eat
H. S.
The staff were super careful and considerate in regards to my gluten intolerance. The place had heaps of gluten free options as well :)
L. R.
Every visit to the city, the plough Inn is my go to eat feast.
The meals are an generous serving. I had the porterhouse last night and it was melt in the mouth tender and perfectly cooked.
Highly recommended.
Plough Inn Southwark Brisbane. 10/10. Im never disappointed.
R. C.
Nice open bar good sights of the river edge
K. L.
What a beautiful place to sit and watch the world go by. Very close access to underground parking. Nice proximity to the lagoon. We ordered a meat share place. It wasn't the best thing that I have ever eaten. It was quite boring and for $51 I did expect more. Next time we will definitely order something else. Staff were pro active. Band was awesome. Toilets neat and tidy. The rest of our table were super impressed with their meals. We will return.
N. H.
Great vibe on Australia Day. All the staff were dressed up and loving it so the whole place was having fun and mellow. Up the rib eating contest.
H. B.
My favourite South Bank pub for over 15 years, still has it's familiar Aussie atmosphere. Cheers with a Draught Beer.
T. C.
Great food. Very busy. Fantastic customer service. A little loud but you get that at a pub.
L.
Stopped here for a cold drink, we were pleased to see you had stout available. Nice atmosphere. Menu was reasonably priced for the area. Food looked nice. We'll be back one day

Wednesday Evening was $20 special:- Shnitty, Burger or Steak including a Beer or Sav Blanc. What a great deal. Great Value. Live music was lovely. Service was excellent. Will be back.

Great meeting place, meal deal good and live music 👍

We had"The best time " Thank you to our fabulous bar staff Milos and Hope you guys were amazing and the meals were excellent loving the Ribs. Also Thank you to the great Kiwi chick who greeted us and helped with the registration for covid Apologies for not remembering your name. Cheers Mark and Michele.

A great place to catch up with friends and have a beer. I especially enjoyed their happy hour $6 glass of wine with paella! I will be back! It's a little busy and louder than I typically like, which isnt really their fault... maybe because all these people keep coming in for the good food/drink value and nice vibes.
m.
Amazing place. I have always loved visiting Plough Inn and never miss an opportunity for a beer when I visit South Bank. We had a company party on the weekend and the staff, specially Connor and Amy were quick, courteous and delivered service beyond normal expectations. The food was delicious, we enjoyed every bit of the fabulous evening and will be back for more.
J. W.
Good deal. Entertainment offer buy 1 Free 1. Sunday offer 1 jug $15.
D. M.
An easy go to central pub with decent pub food. Little on the pricey side. Live music is provided. A good variety of beer on tap and friendly staff. Inside and upstairs is a bit dated but beer garden is where its at!
A. C.
I'm not a fan of ordering on the counter and having to wait for my order at the counter, but maybe I went in a day that things were too busy. Anyway, nice environment. Salt and pepper must be reset on the tables, I searched in 3 tables to try to find some salt but had no success. I found some old wet sachets.. But pleasant. But again, nice environment and food. I recommend.
v. j. k.
Best family pub to hangout with friends and family with live music everyday and the food and drinks are just out of this world amazing pub. Thank you guys for the best hospitality ,
J. O.
An excellent venue located in the South Bank precinct. Very popular with a cross section of people who enjoy a social outing. Great place to sit down and listen to live music regularly played at this establishment. South Bank market's are close by, plus the South Bank Piazza which also caters for live shows.
Overall a fantastic place to visit. A good range of beers are also available on tap.
Overall a great meeting place to have a drink before moving on to one of the many restaurants that are close by.
N. C. A.
Not able to access disabled toilets with my wheelchair, because the doors were too thin. Food was delicious though
K. N.
Pretty good quality food and nice range of drinks, downside is location means everything is fairly highly priced.
L. C.
Great service and food was delish.
M. H.
Great venue, but super busy.
S. G.
Nice place
The steaks and meals nice a little pricey but I guess it's similar with other Southbank establishments.
They have loads of small plate meals that seem to have that similar hotel theme going on in Australia at the moment.
The beer selection here is good, I like the Stone and Wood on tap.
The amenities where ran but average and not the largest.
It has a great atmosphere for a group evening out perhaps not a romantic dinner experience but that's the market here.
I would recommend eating here.
T. T.
Quick and friendly services. Close to the South bank pools. Best place for Mums to escape for a quick drink down the pub, whilst, the hubbie look after the kids at the pool. #justsaying. #mumrulz. #escapethekids #zoneoutforan1hr #mumtime :)
d. k.
The best of modern semi outdoor bar and older style pub charm with laid back surroundings almost in the heart of Brisbane.
B. S.
Great food and good range of drinks. Plenty of seating though it does get incredibly busy especially on weekends! Always has a great atmosphere and often live music adds to this. Easily one of the better pubs in southbank and a great spot to catch up with friends over a few drinks. Definitely recommend it.
K. R.
Nice for kids during the day. Even though busy, the food came out from the kitchen fairly quickly. Would be nice if the kids meals had some healthier options with less starchy foods. Drinks not too pricey considering location. My entree of Haloumi with bacon was tasty but very small for the price. Handy location.
J. D.
Monday night had live music, quick, delicious food and cold beer. Classy menu but not too fussy, with an option for every budget. Nice stop, would recommend and would stop by again.
W. A.
Food was ok. Ribs average. Absolute rip off was $16 for two glasses of soda water, and a lemon, lime & bitters. Wont go back.
M. B.
Great place for lunch, food was great as was the service
R. B.
Good food and great service. Family place
W. B.
3 adults and 2 kids stopped in on New Years Day for dinner. Was busy and got the last table. The staff kindly cleared it straight away even though they were busy. Lady at the counter was really nice and helpful. We got two mains and chips and this was more than enough to feed the 5 of us. Food was delicious! Didn't take too long, fairly normal wait for a place that busy. Entertainment was good, a little loud but was still bearable and we could still hear each other at the table. Overall, happy with our visit!
K. M.
Always great food, great service and fresh, cold beer
D. Q.
Great service, great food.
C. P.
It's a pub so I was a bit surprised by the price of the meals here. They were very good but seemed a bit expensive for a pub. Lots of restaurants nearby where you don't have to fight for a table. Insider's tip... Go inside and up to the balcony for a bit of a view and a quieter area for a talk. The musos were very good but too loud to be able to have an easy conversation.
R. M.
Busy place and there's a reason for that. Very nice food and great beer. When you arrive, just take a wide look and sit, don't wait too much. ;) We ordered the seafood platter. Delicious. :)
S. C.
Nice venue, friendly staff. Wednesday meal deals are excellent value for money.

Today we Enjoyed a Lovely Lunch at The Plough Inn . I want to say a Big Thank You To Maz , who greeted us when we arrived and was So Wonderful and Patient with us !
Maz is A Credit To You !
L. K.
Great food and staff. Had a lovely guy working behind the bar upstairs with black hair who drew my daughter a picture to colour in last Sunday. Went above and beyond on such a busy afternoon. Thank you so much
G. M.
Came in recently and ordered the meat board - absolutely fantastic when we finally received our dinner after an hour 10 wait, staff did not mention a meal wait at all and certainly not over an hour and then the little meatballs were cold and took another 10 mins to come out. Was drinking the blossom rose CIDER on tap, and was told I couldnt have anymore then a 150ml serve due to it being a wine, no girl it cider - Understanding the alcohol volume is a high percentage anywho I feel that serving size and suggestion should be given to the patron in that instance, I work in a venue that sells the cider on tap for $8.20 a schooner not $12 per 150ml and we make our patrons aware of the fact it high alcohol volume and so many standard drinks to whichever serving size they choose. - perhaps need to re evaluate and set up some more effective communication between staff and patrons. It's always a pain as a hospo worker to go out, Im sure we can all appreciate that if in the industry, It also could have just been that particular evening. Side note, like I said once getting the food it was fantastic, live music created wonderful atmosphere and overall everyone in the venue seemed to be having a great time so cant argue with that.
D. B.
Great specials wonderful atmosphere.
L. R.
Food was good, no accessible toilet, but there is a public one close by so not too much of an issue. Great atmosphere.

Very helpful staff. Kids friendly environment with kids menu colouring pencil and drawings. Always a comfortable environment with delicious meals and live music. A must go place in SouthBank.

Most staff seemed friendly especially the island door girl. Definitely go between happy hour cause the drink prices jump crazy.

Great pub, good atmosphere and live music...perfect night out. Young lad Maxwell working the floor last night was an absolute legend. Will be back soon. 🍻🍻

When you're craving steak, chips and salad there's nothing better than a seat at Plough inn at dusk, but with Southbank rent you will pay more than average. The 300g rump or sirloin or the 200g eye fillet, cooked perfectly medium rare, are my go-to choices when extra hungry.
A. A.
This place has a great vibe - live music, bustling with people. Love going on the ribs and rumps nights - for a decent price you get a huge serving of ribs, enough to feed 2 people actually. And they're real tasty, saucy ribs too, not the dry, chewy kind. The chips that come with the meal is also a winner for me, so crunchy and seasoned well! If only the coleslaw was better, it's been too salty on many occasions.
T. N.
Good food and good service. For a busy Friday night they did well with minimum wait times
J. a. K.
Average. Went for a work day lunch and the place was nearly empty. My group ordered multiple meals and all were just average. The meat was very fatty & not overly flavorful. Plus the service isn't spectacular either.
Nice location for a few drinks, but take a pass on the over-priced food.
C. G.
We enjoyed the Barra and chips meal. Our friends also enjoyed their meals. Service was quick. The singer was great. Atmosphere was great. Even had a lovely possum looking down on us from the sails. Sitted on the Deck. The staff were courteous.

Friendly staff. Decent food menu

Great bar in a top location. Nice and central for a Sunday sesh or some yummy food with the family.
R. P.
Very friendly. Great meal just a tad too dear. Seniors discount would be well accepted.

Great place for catching up with friends! Good food and good selection of beers on tap. The big screen outside makes a great place to watch those big sporting events. And being right by the Brisbane river it's very central to everything, highly recommended!!👍
A. D.
Great pub food. Pulled pork fries were a highlight.
Good atmosphere, especially in the beer garden which is usually pretty busy and has televisions for sport watching as well.
Drinks prices are average, soft drinks in particular aren't very cheap for designated drivers or those not drinking alcohol.
S. R.
Great music, lovely food and very enjoyable. Good atmosphere

Good pub food. Wife loved the cocktails. Great meeting place, with a busy and vibrant vibe. Good spot to chill while family explores the markets or to refresh after a walk in gardens.

Ok vibe, tad expensive for pub style food in my view.
Generally good food though this time not so much. I tried the brisket and although the meat was good, the sauce was not... ruined the meal for me.
My partner had the fish and chips which was ok, however not a lot of fish for the $ in my view.
I still recommend as a good place to chill with a beer and catch some live tunes. Also recommend the ribs on a tuesday (half price - $45 normally which, again in my view, is a tad high for a pub)

We visited on a busy Saturday afternoon however we were able to find a suitable table quickly.
This is quite a large business. It has numerous undercover tables with plenty of room between yourself and the next table .
They have a bar and bistro where you can order food. We ordered the chicken parmigiana which was quite nice, the seafood board which was way over priced and did not provide great value .However the food was quite nice, just not enough of it. We also ordered numerous drinks over multiple rounds.
The time between our food order and it being ready was around thirty minutes. As they were very busy we were not upset with the wait time.
I will return for a drink but would probably skip ordering food in future.

Came on a Tuesday and enjoyed a half Price pizza, 'the fun guy' was actually of a high standard.
Beautiful area in Southbank

I've been here a few times for lunch and I've always been fairly satisfied. Ribs were great, pulled pork baguette great, and their selection of beers is good. I understand that people think the prices are a little steep for the quality, which is why I've always gotten specials or deals of the day!

Update: July, 2015
This place just keeps getting better in my opinion! A recent trip for lunch to try their pork belly and sous vide lamb shoulder - both were brilliant, tasty and well balanced.

Good atmosphere. Cheers to Tim for making the night extra special.

We had a grizzly kid. Staff more than helpful getting food snd drink to help quieten him down.

Great chicken wings. Like most venues around Brisbane they only employ just enough staff so you can expect to have to wait while ordering a drink. You would think with the prices that are being charged that they would easily cover the cost of additional staff, but I guess that would eat away at their huge profits!

Went with friends and really enjoyed it. Good food and good selection of drinks. Will return

Great menu and staff

Prime location that attracts lots of tourists. Staff are happy to serve clearly intoxicated patrons. Bar itself is very small but food was tasty and serves quickly considering how busy the place was. Deck was blocked off (I think) for a function but it would have been nice to sit up top.

The very best location to share delicious pizzas with my son .his wife and beautiful grandson Levi .family friendly .good good food and friendly staff .thank you

Nice views, food ok but quite pricey for what it is. Our order was also clearly missed, since numerous people ordered after us but got their food first we had to go downstairs twice to follow up, and there was no apology for waiting over 40 minutes

Food is alright but expensive for the quality you get. Good selection of beer at usual overpriced southbank prices. Live music is hit and miss. Good for catching up with friends. There is an upstairs area for drinks or food which is quieter but you'll need to book this area. Staff are not very friendly and can be rude at times which takes away from an outing.

Beautiful old pub with great service was a real treat to sit and have a couple Of drink's and listen to some live music

Great bar, great ambiance. Have good time. Easy.

Massive plates of food that tasted incredible! There is always a great party vibe and the staff are all very good. The bar can occasionally be slow during peak periods but the drinks certainly make up for it.

Customer service by Aleesha is amazing! Such a lovely & kind human being! I ordered from the restaurant counter and she had the most pleasant attitude & fantastic customer service! Please pass the message on!

The plough is a very chill and very cosy place. Staff are very very polite and friendly and their service is absolutely great. The drink and foods are good as well. There are also outdoor heaters available if you want to warm up and yeah I've been there 3 times already and I absolutely love the place.

Fantastic place with live music, and a good vibe. The drinks are fantastic and service is quick. It always has a good amount of people lending itself to it hip vibe.
Definitely recommend for tourists visiting the area of they want to have a drink in a central location

Great rustic heritage listed pub at southbank.
Awesome food, good atmosphere, great service, and has live music on certain days.
Great location with heaps of undercover paid parking close by, or catch a city cat up the river. Great beer garden.

Beautiful location. Great bar staff and beer selection. Restaurant though is poor. Staff unhelpful even with a super basic "change the cheese on the burger" request. Long wait. Bland and cold burgers were the result. Would return for drinks... not eats.

Great place to catch up with friends over a few drinks and really nice share platters. Down side is the smoking area runs along the front and if your unlucky enough to be sitting anywhere near there you get smoked on constantly, live music is amazing just sometimes its so loud you look forward to intermissions to chat.

Mixed experiences. Much better place to be when it's not busy. Drinks are fine and there are cool places to sit and people-watch. Some staff are extremely friendly while others are very cold. Chips are excellent.

Food came out nice and quick. Family friendly. Lots going on around you but cool atmosphere right next to the man made beach. We ordered buffalo wings, chicken burger, parma and a kids pasta. All of it looked and tasted amazing! The chicken was moist and delicious. Best Parma I've had in a while. The sauce on the burger was amazing according to my partner. My daughter ate her entire kids meal and some wings, loved it! Will dine here again next time we are in Brisbane. We struggled finding a nice pub meal that was kid friendly around Brisbane with outdoor space but this ticked all the boxes. Highly recommend.

Standard bistro food. Live music is usually decent. It does get busy so it can get tricky to get a hold of a table. Nice open air venue and a good stop to make when the markets are on.

We have been for lunch several times. An interesting enough range of menu. Food portions and presentation is great. A fair range of beers. No table service; just a boomerang buzzer, then walk up stairs holding plates with cutlery under your arm. We sat on the balcony overlooking the fake beach. We could not work out where the fire escape was.

Kai - the best worker you have ever had, excellent work ethics, extremely friendly and sensationally kind!!! I’d come back just for him :) love the plough inn!!!!! Will be back !

The place has changed heaps. The beer garden is a nice seating area with excellent meals and atmosphere. The inside has been restored to its former glory and looks real good and inviting. A Brisbane icon and a must if you visit South Bank.

Good location. Good food. Not bad value considering. Lively.

Classic pub, large and varied seating areas both indoor and out; great menu, with vegetarian options. Family friendly; have taken the kids for lunch many times. Staff are always extremely affable.

Tasty dishes served in a genteel establishment near the Brisbane River. Salad portions could be more generous for the price. Courteous and prompt wait staff.

Usually a great place, good atmosphere, drinks are a little expensive, but if a student prices are reasonable, great mix of people, every night is like a Friday night at this venue. Food is great and both affordable meals and higher end cafe style dishes available. Is one of the oldest pubs in Brisbane I believe and has retained its character, it has sat there forever while the city has grown around it, while it has had many upgrades thought out the many years is firmly planted. The only downside seems to be the clueless security staff employed of late which do not fit in with the character of the venue. Weekend lunches are aided by the long-standing SouthBank markets a great place easy to meet new people or catch up with old friends. Outside is very popular but take your time to appreciate the building and interior, which has really made this a homely and historically significant landmark, great place do check it out.
