Very cool wine bar in Ashgrove! Myself and my partner had the degustation with matching wine here. Firstly, the fit-out here looks great. It's definitely the coolest looking place in suburban Ashgrove. Secondly every wine was excellent and matched the food perfectly. Favourites were the Hently (Victoria) reisling and the Italian Soave. The food here was also very good, but perhaps not quite as good as the wine. Favourites were the corn bread starter and the lemon meringue dessert. The staff are also very friendly and are experts in the restaurant's wines and food. After the meal had a wine in the Alleyway bar, which is also very cool.

It's been almost 12 months since our last visit and I have to say, it's even more special than before. Trust the chef is a great concept where the perfectly designed menu is paired with someone of the most beautiful wines available. If you're looking to enjoy you partners company with just enough small interruptions to remind you that you're in a beautiful setting being served by knowledgeable and friendly staff, (we had a waitress that was on her second shift, that was fun, friendly and brilliant) then do yourself a favour. Book a table and head on out!!

I really love this bistro, it's everything I want in one cosy corner. Excellent menu, wonderful wines, really nice staff, low lighting, low key vibe, perfect background music...it's so great to have a neighbourhood (I live locally) bistro where I know I can go for a romantic dinner for two, a fun night out with girlfriends and take visitors to Brisbane as well. Bravo all!

The Master Class was a great experience. 6 courses of interesting wines matched to sensational food made a great night. James took us through a blind tasting on each course and certainly improved my understanding of wines and wine tasting.

Blessed to have a wine bar of this calibre within 10m walk from home. Service and wine of offer exemplary; many wines wouldn't look out of place on any wine list in a fine restaurant. Seek something out under 'coravin' (an opportunity to try an upper tier wine by the glass that's normally only available by the bottle).

Great place to go to for drinks and food. This is the place that Ashgrove had lacked all this time! It has become the Go To place for locals. They have a wonderful selection of Australian and Overseas wines to enhance the quality of their food. James and Stephanie are enthusiastic and cheerful hosts and chef Ingva, a magician, in the kitchen. The wait staff are efficient and friendly.

I shared a delightful time with a friend at Wine & Larder bistro. Service was attentive and very knowledgeable regarding their wines. I was treated to a delightful wine which is made available by the glass through the Coravin system. The food we ordered was absolutely divine both flavoursome and interesting. I'm so glad to have this bistro/wine bar in my neighbourhood.

Ashgrove and surrounds are lucky to have a venue of this caliber in the neighbourhood. The ambiance inside transports you to a moody alleyway bar of Melbourne or dare I say, Paris. The thoughtful staff are impeccable in their care and made us feel right at home pulling up at a table. The music playing had me wanting to stay all night. Although we only stayed for one drink, (a Spanish sake! and how delightful it was!) we plan to return to experience the full charcuterie offerings and more exclusive offerings under the heaters soon. Definitely a stand out for Brisbane hospitality industry.

This place is a gem. Myself and friends ate here last night and I have to say in the 11 years of being in Brisbane, the food was the best I have ever been served. It’s one of those places that your friends are jealous that you can call your local. Incredible, wine, cracking menu and fantastic owners. To have a three glass wine list and a sommelier of James’ standard in the burbs is amazing!

We honestly have not enjoyed a meal quite as much for a very long time. The food was absolutely amazing, as was the service. The only disappointment was that the lighting was terribly inadequate, such that we couldn’t see what we were eating. The tables inside the restaurant are definitely the choicest position when making a reservation.

How have we not been here before! This little gem is simply worth a visit for a coffee, cocktail, wine or my favourite dinner. The food menu is perfectly chosen to match the wines and limited to a single page unlike their drink list... which boasts something for everyone and their friend... The staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable but reserved enough to allow you to enjoy the candlelit restaurant and company... My top 5

This is my local wine bar and I love it, it has a great selection of wines that is constantly evolving. Staff are very knowledgeable about the wines and can recommend one that suits your tastes. The food menu is small but everything I have tried on there is delicious which is all you need. Definitely a great place for a few drinks after work or hanging out with a small group.

While on the dearer side, the menu (a la carte or degustation) is well thought out and very well delivered. Service is simple, unpretentious and friendly; this is a solid local. The wine list is very interesting: it spoils you for choice on every level (region; grape; style). As of February 2021, bottles start at approximately $50. Glasses from approximately $12. Well worth a visit.

The larder is simply fantastic. From the ambiance and decor to the service via the range of exquisite dishes and cheeses matched with a mindblowing wine selection, there is nothing not to like about it. Great relaxed atmosphere, even better food and drinks. Cocktails were par for the course tonight and didnt disappoint. Had the old fashion: bourbon mix. Very nice and espresso martini which was possibly the best one I've had so far. Anchovies with bread an butter was Devine. I wholeheartedly reccomend this for quality food and drink Host was great too with great recommendations and service.

Lovely little suburban wine bar, nice selection of wines, beers and now cocktails too. It can get a bit noisy inside when busy, and can be hard to find a table outside during busy times too, so best to get there early if going for a Friday, Sat or Sunday lazy catch up with friends over a pinot

From the moment you walk in you feel welcome, almost loved... The wine selections are exciting, tantalising, and taste like poetry would, if you could drink it... The sommelier is informative, and charming, with a formidable knowledge of each wine, from the grapes, to the winemaker, to its history... The 'small plates' (tapas?) are delectable, and really compliment the wine (I'd really recommend the croquettes with lemon aioli, and for the cheeses, the camembert) ... An outstanding experience all round...
