Great pub! A welcome addition to Braddon. Pros: my pros are pretty much all around the atmosphere, it has beer and food which is good (but limited for some, see below), but I love the big tables, booths and outdoor area. Cons: more vegan options. Theres a burger (that is spicy, be warned) and a salad... replace the salad with a more filling main option, or add more (non spicy) options to the menu and this place would be 5 stars, hands down.

We arrived in Canberra late and was starving and so glad we decided on pub food. The schnitzel and chips was probably one of the best I’d eaten! So good!! Service from restaurant and bar staff was super friendly and prompt, ambience was nice and warm, decor modern and priced really well. What a good experience!

Best steak in Canberra, seriously order the T Bone and prepare to be amazed. It's huge so share it with someone. Also had the beef tartare, zucchini flowers and chicken parmigiana. Chips are hot and crispy and they have a smoky fry sauce that is delicious. Nice ambience, plenty of seating and social distancing.

Something for everyone here...A gastropub but really a jack of all trades when it comes to dining establishments. It has drinks, coffee, food. 3 separate spaces with a variety of seating options. There's quieter seats outside (perhaps for a quick arvo drink), then tables inside,( better suited to diners,) then another outdoor type area at the back with live music. ( Gets louder and wilder the farther you go). I can't really post an accurate review without coming back multiple times.

Airy spacious feel with lots of seating options. Not crowded on a Tuesday night. The pork ribs were outstanding. Generous portion, very tender and lean, with the tangy glaze a nice change from sweet gooey offerings. Good value for money too.

I've been to Assembly a couple of times now for breakfast and it has been a great experience each time. The staff are friendly and efficient and the food is very tasty and also vegetarian friendly. It's a very large space too so it never feels crowded, at least in the mornings. I had the pesto mushrooms which were delicious. The coffee is also very nice.

Second biggest parmi I've ever had. Credit to the chef and wait staff, great taste. It's a shame your bar staff have the personality of a chalkboard and lack even basic customer service skills. Seems to be a common trend in Canberra sadly. Perhaps provide some training?

First time here. Looks popular. Food pics to follow. Lots of good beer choices on tap. Place is getting very busy around 12.30 - but hey - it's Canberra and it's a new place! Food was tasty and fresh. I had the jerk chicken burger and someone else had the chicken schnitty. The burger was cooked perfectly. Nice touch of spice and the chicken was super crispy on the outside - just how it should be. The schnitty looked good and I was told it was tasty too. There's a few things on the menu worth looking into - I'm planning on heading back with some friends and testing out the lamb shoulder. See you there.

Assembly is a warm and clean establishment. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The place is very accessible for people in a wheelchair. Plenty of space between the tables to manoeuvre the wheelchair. Just had a coffee and that is where it stumbled. The coffee was ordinary compared to other cafes in Lonsdale Street.

Exactly what Canberra has been waiting for... Assembly did not disappoint! A friend and I were both impressed! We ordered kingfish ceviche, zucchini flowers and eggplant parmis. The ceviche was so fresh and flavours worked well! Zucchini flowers were sweet, stuffed delights and the eggplant parmi was the best I've ever had and looked as big the chicken parmi others ordered! To top it all off we ordered a couple of cocktail martinis. I had the passionfruit which was the perfect amount of everything, and they had the espresso martini which went down a treat! The vibes perfect even in winter! Will be even better in the warmer months when the beer garden is in full use as the front opens to the street. This place brings some serious competition to Lonsdale St, and i have already planned to return with four more groups!

The bar and food service is very friendly, quick and efficient with a wide range of beers on tap and a good selection of main courses and snacks. The menu is interesting mainstream without being too quirky.

A quick visit for lunch. Had the t-bone and chips with a schooner of pale ale and I can say confidently that you cannot go wrong with that. Perfectly cooked and pleasant to consume while watching american football and car racing. I have been there before for breakfast and was good. Not my scene the evening crowds but I know from my adult kids that it is not a bad place to hang out.

We're a group of foodie people visiting the area and Assembly was our next stop. Heard some beautiful reviews and was not disappointed. Great food at a cozy and relaxing place. Halloumi chips were superb. We loved the breakfast bun, a delicious and well mixed fried egg, bacon, pickles, bean spreads and creams. Great menu choices. Staff were accommodating, they made us comfortable and suggested some excellent tourist spots to check out. A beautiful group getaway this summer season. You gotta check this place out!.

What an amazing venue, these guys have got it all sorted! I was expecting a rather pricey menu due to previous reviews but found them to be very similar to other places, if not better! The food is delicious (I highly recommend the Hotcakes for Brekky)and the coffee is hands down the best coffee I’ve had!! Overall, it has such an awesome vibe. The staff are really lovely and helpful, definitely the new favourite hot spot!

Beer garden is going to be great for summer! Very happy to have found a new place for drinks on Lonsdale street, I understand why it's so popular currently. Hoepfully it keeps it up. More refined than hopscotch, nice surroundings/decor, good food and HUGE space with mix of bar, outdoor and seating, and TVs with sport for those inclined.. Line for drinks was quite long, I think because of cocktails but this might reduce as they become more established. Will be back. Eggplant parmi included yum corn and chippies ($19). Well priced and efficient service.

The food and drinks were fantastic, and the venue is huge which makes it possible for many large groups coexist without imposing upon one another. I cannot fault the food, service or venue. The atmosphere is great and I hope to see Assembly continue to receive good patronage in the future. The only issue I have is that each time I have been there, dogs are in the outside section. This would be fine, however there seemingly isn't a way for dogs to be in this section without passing through the inside of the restaurant, which seems unsanitary. I have also witnessed a waitress patting a dog which was unleashed and disturbing other patrons. I understand that dogs are allowed outside at a restaurant owner's discretion, however it feels as though this crosses a line.

My family, myself, my wife and our two girls aged 7 and 9 recently stopped into Assembly for an early dinner in Braddon. The place was spotless and roomy and plenty of staff. However the best bit was the kids meals. Having recently moved to the ACT from Sydney, we were used to average to good kids meals in pubs, and reasonably expensive. Assembly's kids meals are Adult standard, and very well priced. I recommend to families.

Generally have a good time here. Not the cheapest but the chips are unreal and with VB on tap you can’t go wrong. Great for an outdoor sesh in the beer garden. I sit there and have at least one memory from each table/area. There’s a really cool tinnies shed which sells cans but also pricey. A bouncer was very rude to me one time so minus 1 star: Threw my beer in the garden cause I tried to finish it before we left (got told to leave because the table we were on had a reservation at 8pm (it was only 6:50)) Edit: extra star cause I just had the best burrito I’ve ever had. Ya’ll arguing about Zambreros vs Guzman. Shut up and get the breakfast burrito at Assembly.

The breakfast was delicious, I had the hot cake and my friend had the fritters. Coffee was great and the live music for Sunday brunch creates a really nice atmosphere. Similar feel to SubUrban when it first opened (along time ago!) Menu is quality with a few new and different options to what you normally see. Schnitty comes with corn and chips so is a plate of all yellow food which isn’t super appetising. Was a bit too loud in the seating section but it was peak Friday night. Would definitely give it a go for drinks and a casual feed. Can’t wait to have a beer out the back in the beer garden during summer!

A new opening on Lonsdale street. I tried it for breakfast this morning and was really impressed with the quality of the food on offer. Excellent value for money too, with prices that are standard for Braddon, but larger portion sizes. The coffee was also very nice, and the fitout of the interior was warm, welcoming and comfortable. I look forward to trying it out again for drinks and dinner one day soon.
