M. H.Last weekend a group of my friends and I held an impromptu school reunion at Rose Cottage. We could not have picked a better venue.
The facilities are perfect for larger groups, and small ones too, the food was delicious, the service was friendly and the multiple bar areas, live music and great atmosphere all contributed to a fantastic night.
I couldn't recommend the Rose Cottage as a family friendly venue any higher.
Well done to the whole team, great job, great place, great night.
M. R.We have been a regular at Rose Cottage for years. The last few years, the great place has turned into a truly amazing place. The food is SO good, super affordable, live music, plenty of unique spots to sit/stand in the shed, glasshouse, deck, beer gardens and in winter, the fires OMG. Locally owned and run by top people. Our go to place!
G.Decent meals though didn't realise how small the pizza was compared to the pictures. Wasn't sure if you had to pick a size, the lady didn't mention a size to me if there was an option. Great atmosphere.
R. B.The Rose cottage has always been a nice place to get a meal or watch a band and have a drink. The staff are nice and meals are decent.
There are plenty of places for seating both indoor and outside and the gardens atmosphere around the grounds are pleasant and relaxing.
There is plenty of parking, although its a dirt car park that gets extremely muddy in wet weather.
Im pretty sure its accessible for wheelchairs throughout most of the grounds.
L. J.My family were there for an engagement party. We were in a section of our own and our own balcony. Plenty of seating. Plenty of space to dance. Was a great night.

J.Love all the work that has been done here, creates a great atmosphere. Had the Shed burger, It looked really good but the only down fall was the patties were over cooked and dry causing it to not taste like anything, removed one of the patties and you could start to taste the fillings. If the patties were nice and juicy I feel it could have been amazing.
I. S.This place is certainly nice to go to. The live music added a lot of atmosphere. The main meals were delicious but a little pricey. This last fact can be forgiven in that you're getting atmosphere, music and clean facilities. The pizzas, kabak and burgers were all very well done. The only let down, which is small but kind of important for pub food, was that the chips were undercooked. Very unappetising. In addition the side of salad was a bit light. But mostly the chips. When ordering pub food it's the thing you consistently expect to get right. Overall an enjoyable evening still recommend.

J.Awesome. Lunch and a catch up with a friend. Service and chef were really friendly. Food came out fast. The lamb shank ragout with pappardelle was delicious.
Pasta not overcooked, beautiful tender falling-apart lobes of lamb shank. Great iced coffee with a pile of real cream and good ice cream, not budget ice cream with ice all through it which seems to be in a lot of iced coffee. Definitely going back!
J. D.It has a great country feel. The spaces are great for a few quiet drinks or a big party. The pizza is amazing and a highlight of the venue. Great to relax in winter near one of the fires or in summer to soak up the rays in the many beer gardens!

K. L.Our friends 60th was a hit. Great outdoor facilities. Would have just liked my lemon lime and bitters made from scratch and not poured from a bottle, its never the same.
C. S.Quaint pub area with the original old building in the middle. Needs a bit more night time lighting in areas, function options are great. Can take a bit to get on to someone to book but keep at it because their function facilities are great. But noisy when they have bands on, certainly can't hold a conversation and if your wearing get in early - the wait for food can be quite long at times (1.5hrs once)
G. D.The Rose has really changed over 2020! It's been refurbished but still has it's original charm.
There's an amazing new menu, my salmon was delicious with a glass pinot gris and to cap it off the live music was awesome!

E. F.We had our wedding there in early July for a Canberra winter wedding. Through the whole process, the team were super easy and relaxed to deal with. They were really competent and did everything they said they would, when they said they would.
Prices were fantastic for what we got - room hire, decorations and heaps of food and drinks for our guests. They kept the fireplace roaring for us on a cold winters night.
Such a good venue with the rustic surroundings. We had a ball and feedback from our friends was that they really enjoyed the venue and the food. No one went hungry - one of our guests even said he managed to eat 10 roast potatoes with his roast meat meal! A highlight for him for sure!
Highly recommended for weddings or a big function! Photos are of the little area for the ceremony and the Glasshouse with guests in it.
C. W.Great little rustic pub with several little bars and beer garden was built on the the site of Tuggernong Homestead from 1800's .It's been part of the Canberra landscape for decades. Great place to spend a Sunny Sunday or Winter evening by the fire

B. O.Booked some tables on the covered deck for a birthday dinner on a Saturday night in July, and it was great. Despite the cold, winter night, we were very comfortable on outdoors thanks to the insulated roof and plentiful gas heaters.
Food was priced well, and the servings were so generous that not many of us finished our plates.

We didn't feel rushed at all, even though we were there for over 3 hours. The food was just good honest food at a good price. The staff were friendly and the entertainment was good. Would definitely go back!

J. W.We had a 21st here and it was fantastic. We hired out the shed, well heated by beautiful fire places, Facility to use a sound system and screen (though you need to take your own patch cord). Kids had a fantastic time and they were free to celebrate in a safe place. Free ride to civic afterwards too. Aaaaawesome.

V. L.One of the best venues at south side, to relax, have a good night, a beer, see a nice pub rock band playing. Plenty of space, you can bring friends, even your kids (if you're not planning to leave late, you'll have no problem)... Lately the staff is adding some nice events such as open mic and trivia nights...
C. B.We had our Work Christmas party here, and the team did the most fantastic job catering and providing service for our function. Mark and Matt provided outstanding customer service, from the beginning with organising the event right through to the day of the function with the room set up and the amazing grazing table. Luke and a lovely lady at the bar provided outstanding service on the day, it went like clock work, both very friendly and helpful with nothing being a bother for them. The food was excellent, the Glasshouse room looked great decorated for the Christmas theme. We thank all the team at Rose Cottage, they are A1 in all respects and would highly recommend them.
