My mum, daughter and I had the best experience. Stayed in the family room. Clean as a whistle, we was very thankful for that. Complimentary toiletries, milk, biscuits and general tea/coffee supplies were in an abundance. Meals downstairs and a BWS. We used both. Service was fantastic in all areas! This place has been a family go to for many years, they always provide a good service and have friendly staff. Although lately the food has gone down hill, we are all struggling with COVID but definitely meals have gone from an A, to F the last meals we had there were appeared and tasted like an out of the fridge microwave meal. Was left very disappointed, especially for the prices of those said meals. It's a shame we were let down with this as we won't be back for a little while.

The room was clean and good condition for the price. Good for a short stay. Gentleman who assisted us during check in process was a bit rude he seemed to be in the wrong role as customer service is all about being welcoming and friendly. The check out lady on the other hand was kind.

Its hard to get a good steak at a pub, everyone knows and accepts that but some pubs prices seem to be creeping up to steak speciality restaurant prices without the quality. My husband and I dined at the Carlyle last night and ordered scotch fillet steak, The steak was cooked well but that is where it stops.I had curried scallop sauce over it and with the steak costing $28 and the sauce $9 we are looking at almost a $40 steak. Most of the steak was gristle and I was unable to even chew it, there was a small piece of meat that had no gristle about the size of two 50 cent pieces. I had three scallops in the sauce for my $9. it was just an average meal with a below average steak, but they must be doing something right as it was very busy , which made it very noisy, in my opinion over priced for quality and venue

We had a good stay here as it was close to our family. The king size bed was very comfortable and it had nice linen on it. Plenty of off street parking and we loved the complimentary breakfast boxes.

Good pub meals at a reasonable price. I like that the meals are generous in size and complete with either a nice chips / salad or vegetables that have an interesting mix instead of just the mound of chips and a bit of lettuce you get served at many pubs and restaurants. I'd give it five stars but sometimes there's a little variability in the meals (although I've never had a terrible one) and the bar service can be a bit average at times.

Nice rooms, nice service. I visited in July 2017 and was planning on staying another night. I was a little disappointed of the price increases, which I was originally lucky to avoid due to booking the room many months earlier. It's a bugger that prices have increased. I was glad for breakfast being included. The bar can get a bit noisy and crowded, but remarkably quieter upstairs in my room where I was allowed to take my meal. The Carlyle still remains a familiar place relatively close to Hobart CBD.

Quiet rooms considering on top of a bar and pokies. Most staff were good some less helpful and abrupt. Lovely room and comfortable bed and great aircon. Needs at least a toaster or if not a microwave, a plate at least for your own food. Breakfast pack was a good touch but a bit more variety in offering would make it even better. Would like restaurant to have longer hours. And curtain wasn't enough to keep out sun glaring on the mirror. But a pleasant place over all, even better if they had some cable channels too.

I alway come to the Carlyle because its 5 min from my house, the kids love the play ground and I know most of the people that work there bescause of working in hospitality. The food is what it is. Had a great meal for my 5th yr old bday. The service in the restaurant is alway good but tonight was exceptional. You alway read of bad reviews so just want to turn the tide and compliment on awesome service. I asked for her name so I could especially single her out. Well done Brie, your bosses should give you a pay rise.

Got a table reservation at the last minute for my daughter's birthday after her first choice was closed, staff were friendly, food got to the table quickly and the food was delicious. Visit here regularly, can be very up and down but our last couple of visits have been good.

Food was lovely & one staff member was fantastic. But three times we were left waiting. When our meals were brought out I asked if my sauce & sour cream was coming (which was ordered when my meal was ordered) & a staff member stated that she would get it, 15 minutes later my meal was cold & another waitress came to clear my partners plate so we asked again for my sauces which she said she would get. Another 15 minutes later we had to ask another staff member if she would mind getting it for us because we still didn't have it, which she apologise profusely about & was prompt. Then when finished our meals I asked for something to take the rest of my meal home in, staff member stated she would get me something but another 20 mins later the same staff member was putting her jacket on, grabbed her hand bag & left. Again we asked the lovely staff member who was still there if she could help us & why. She obviously felt terrible & apologised profusely yet again for something that wasn't her fault & helped us within 5 minutes! So although the food & atmosphere was great the majority of the customer service really left alot to be desired! Don't think I will go back.

Located on the main road in Moonah, right next door to the Springfield interchange with parking offsite, you can enter their off street carpark from the main road or from the side street. The dining room is clean, well presented and with comfortably spaced setting. Staff are friendly, efficient and welcoming. The service was prompt with meals ordered and presented to the table within a good timeframe. Food was reasonably priced, nicely cooked, well seasoned and a generous serving. Will return again.
