Went here on Sunday for lunch with my Son. Half price burgers, beautiful. The place had a great feel inside and out. Very relaxing. Burgers were super tasty washed down with a pint of cascade pale ale (not my son he had water).

One of the best places for beer in the area. Good draft list with local and foreign beers. Gourmet burgers is the way to go. Had the classic beef- which was pretty basic. The fries (chips) are amazing! Also had the steak burger which had the most amazing flavor and great quality; however I could not bite pieces of it off as it was too tough to bite into. This changed my experience. Sitting outside seemed nicer, but they do have a restroom/toilet upstairs. The guys working there were super friendly and relatable. I also recommend the Moo IPA from Tasmania. Cheers!

Cool interior with a really good range of well priced craft beers on tap. One of very few pubs I’ve found that plays AFL live. Seemed a tad understaffed at the time so the waiting times for drinks was a little slow. Will definitely return.

Top notch beer selection and good food. Friendly staff that make you feel at home. Have the Wallaby burger, it may sound like a tourist trap but its actually delicious. The popcorn chicken and burger were great too. Would likely be my local if I lived in Hobart. Great place.

The best burgers and sliders in Hobart! Also a terrific selection of local craft beers. You can do a tasting, then pick a fave to have with your meal. Be warned it can get busy at peak hours, but off-hours we recommend it highly. In fact, this will be our first stop on any return trip to Hobart.

Pretty good here. Buns were cold and fell apart too easily. The whole meal was really nice and I would return there for more burgars. The Coke was a little watered down but was a nice accompaniment with the meal. Nice company came along with me and also liked the meal!

If you want a friendly and interesting place to grab a meal or a drink or just relax this place is perfect, has two rooms ground level and upstairs both these have bars and different atmospheres . They also cook later then most places around and have great food to and heaps of beer on tap lots of local too.

With my latest escapade to Hobart, there was nothing better than topping off a day of exploring with a good restaurant for a burger. I know that the Salamanca Markets are renowned for their seafood, but seafood allergy in another state is hardly a thing to scoff at. And hey, if you can do burgers right, then you can win my heart, Hobart. The gauntlet was thrown down to Jack Greene. Set right in the heart of the Salamanca Markets, this is one place that you literally couldn’t afford to go past. The aromatic smells of all the quaint pubs automatically pull you in. Jack Greene is a multi-level pub with the bottom more like a bar and the upstairs a cozy gathering surrounded by books on one side, a lodging feature on the other and finally a picturesque view of the bay. I chose the peri-peri chicken with a side order of Tassie wine (unfortunately I couldn’t find the name and didn’t write it down…must mean I need to go back and re-visit, right?) First of all, those chips were heavenly. The crunch in your mouth and the hard coated exterior with the soft warm interior. Oh, you know how to win a man’s heart, Tassie. Then the peri-peri chicken. Wow. The bacon. The melted cheese all drizzled in peri-peri heaven. I was in love, from the first bite to the last. This one burger was good with the only flaw being that it wasn’t big enough to fill my man-sized hunger. I would recommend it hands down! What more can I say? This was one amazing trip and Jack Greene really capped off the event. Go for the views, stay for the food – you won’t be disappointed.

I ordered some beers and a burger. Firstly there is an amazing selection of draft beers. I have to come back to try the others. I had the XIPA and an amazing Stout . The bar service was amazing. The staff without exception are friendly and knowledgeable . When I couldn't decide which beer to have without me asking they gave me some to try. I ordered a burger which was absolutely delicious. The bun was toasted The beef patty was meaty and cooked perfectly. I was most impressed how the staff ran the place so well without supervision.

Food and drinks are good. We were celebrating a friend's birthday, staff in general is kind, nice and helpful, but when we were outside in the tables, some guys were being racist and rude towards us, they wanted our table which we had reserved and didn't ask kind for it, we would share it if they were kind but they just sat there and started being rude.... and the guy at the door didn't manage well, even when we explain and he saw what was happening.

Apologies for the poor shot - I was starving and far too lazy to mess with my phone's settings or positioning. I got the Southern Fried Chicken burger and added a beef patty with cheese, and would've paid somewhere around $23 for it had it not been half-price Sunday (the beef patty was an extra $5 which is fairly standard). I'm a burger guy and have eaten at dozens of places around. Melbourne, and I can safely say this burg would keep up with a lot of our joints. Though it was a little weird that the chicken was in fact chicken tenders rather than a piece of breast, the poultry was cooked as perfectly as the beef and bacon were and the cheese was plentiful and delicious; same goes with the sauce. My only gripe was that the burger was a little small at $23, but based on its location I can't fault the place too much.

Half price tinnies on Thursday!! How good! And the live music!!! Thank you! Enjoyed his versions of the songs. Upstairs area has amazing decor, nice and cosy. Great place to hang out with friends, have a feed, watch the footy.

Great spot for a burger and sides. The food was very good. Though, there was a one-hour wait on food, despite not being too busy. The beers are mostly industrial CUB. Independents are limited to cans and were all over twelve bucks.

Although it is a bit dark, this old style pub has a good atmosphere and a large range of interesting beers. The upstairs area has lounges which are great for small groups.

Like most places in Salamanca, it can be a bit hit-and-miss. Depending on the crowd, the venue security and staff you might have a great night or a just OK one. They have a pretty good variety of drinks and some of the food is great although they had run out of slider buns on my last visit.

Set in Salamanca, it is in a popular and picturesque area. Meals are ordered at the bar, but there is indoor and outdoor eating areas. I am not sure if value for money is there. The burgers were tasty but should have come with chips for their price. This may be the price you pay for eating in Salamanca though.

It's a really cool bar I really like it, the lights could get turned up a bit but I'm not a decor expert so keep on doing on your thing. The seasoning they put on the chips and popcorn chicken is amazing. Grab food here, the burgers are great and same with the sides and the staff are all over the drinks and they do live acts a few time a week I think. Def worth a visit.

I think every Sunday they do half price for the burger. Burger was just okay, not really tasty. Hopefully they can improve it but staff are friendly though. Place is easy to find. They have outside table, busy area at salamanca, a lot of parking space nearby. You could grab a beer or wine as well! It could be a best spot to gather with friends and grab few drinks on the weekend!

The food was really good, I enjoyed the Spicy Beef Burger with the Chilli Jam. Their chips are very good too. All other burgers seem of high quality and people seemed to enjoy their meals. The prices were quite high for what it is, with my burger costing $17.5 and a further $8 for a side of chips. They have a great selection of beer and wine, although I don’t like their mug-style pint glasses (personal preference). The container that they brought our cutlery out in was quite dirty down the bottom, which put is off a bit. Will probably come back eventually though. :)

Beer selection is excellent, and some of the staff are really knowledgeable. Upstairs is very cosy and comfortable on a cold day, and opens another bar in busy times. Outside is always fun in Salamanca when the weather is agreeable. The reason I am only giving 3 stars is because the food is unreliable. sometimes it's tasty, fresh and excellent, and other times it's just really not.

Favorite Hobart pub! Love this place and visit every time I'm in town. The book-lined, wood-panelled interior makes for a great atmosphere on a chilly night. The outdoor area overlooking the harbour district is great for warmer nights. Great beer and cider selections. Food menu is a burgers-only affair but don't let that turn you off, there's a massive variety including fish and vegetarian options. Staff are friendly and will always try to accommodate you even on a busy night. Tip - try the upstairs bar. Different atmosphere from downstairs - a little more bohemian.

Party of 6 7 Burgers 3 Sides BURGERS We ordered: 2 Beef and Bacon, 2 Southern Fried Chicken, Greek Lamb Burger, Pulled Pork, American - Burgers around the table were rated a firm 3/5 due to the bun. It was a dry bun and the size of the bun was too thick in proportion to the fillings. - The burger as a whole was also too dry and required more moisture, preferably in the form of sauce. We were dipping our burgers in a small pool of sauce in the end. SIDES We ordered: Sweet potato fries, steak cut chips, popcorn chicken - Sweet potato fries were slightly undercooked, the insides were a bit hard, though plenty there. - The steak cut chips were too big, they're big rectangular squared chips (best way I can describe them). The better ones are the flatter, wide steak cut chips. Serving size was small. - Popcorn chicken was delicious 👌🏼 - We ordered a side of Jalapeno Aioli which was also delicious.

Well where to begin.. My girlfriend and I had just spent the morning at MONA and were weighing up where to eat. We had initially planned to grab something over at MONA but opted against that plan due to cost ($16 for a plain Jane sandwich? Get outa here..) so we researched other options. We stumbled across jack Greene based on the reviews in the area and the fact they had a wide array of Gins available. We arrived and were greeted by the lovely wait staff and told to take a seat, within minutes we had an order sorted and placed with the bar as well as some local gins and Pinot to complete the meal. I had the Philly cheesesteak burger and my lady had the beef and blue. Needless to say both were 10/10. What really impressed us though was the thick cut fries. We ordered some to share and they were a cut above the rest we had whilst in Hobart. We will be back! Loved every moment of the experience.

Came here with a friend in non peak hour. Had to wait over 40 minutes for burgers. Which were dry, under sized, bland and poorly cooked. Chicken was dry and sweet potato hard and uncooked in the middle. Definitely not worth the price. However after talking to the bar lady, was very sympathetic and insisted we have our meals refunded .

Called in for a drink – stayed all night! Great pub atmosphere, huge range of tap beer and local wines. Excellent menu, HUGE serves of sharing and main dishes. Bonus for us was the live music (guys with guitar); played all night, we stayed to taste the beers, snack (and snack, and snack . . . ). Topped off the night.

We were frankly disappointed by our experience here. First, it took 45 minutes to be served 2 burgers and one serve of chips. Secondly, the "wasabi mayo" that accompanied the chips had no detectable wasabi flavour and I don't think their answer that there is a "national wasabi shortage" is good enough (either make something that is up to scratch or don't offer it at all). Thirdly, the burgers were simply underwhelming - the fried chicken burger just tasted like nothing and the spicy beef burger had a patty that was undersized, particularly for an $18 burger that comes with no sides. (Visit date: April 2019)

Great selection of whiskies and local spirits and what’s more - their sister Restaurant next door serves some of the best wood fired pizza’s! Both restaurants are located right in the hustle-bustle of Salamanca and nothing’s beats having a brew with a solid wood fired pizza in Salamanca on a Saturday afternoon! Chilled bar where Hipster fuses with gastro pub. Jack Green is a hip venue with a brilliant beer selection! Bar food is always great quality and service is always prompt. Add their live music and you're on to a winner. There's also a function space upstairs which is one of the most comfortable in the Salamanca area.

Ordered the Greek Lamb burger with Avocado and it was really great! I can see what people meant about the burnt pattie part but it didn't taste burnt at all, just a little blackened (which seemed deliberate). As a bonus, they are one of the few places in Salamanca that keep the kitchen open past 9 p.m.! I'm from Melbourne, and I couldn't believe how early all the kitchens closed in the bars here.

A great range of amazing burgers. They are quite pricey however ($15 +) so be prepared. The actual bar was amazing with a really nice setup. Burgers took a while to arrive but that was to be expected because of the sheer amount of people there. They told us there would be a wait so it wasn't a surprise. Overall a great place to eat, especially given its location
