Comments of The Kentish Tasmania
L. S.
We were hungry after attending an art show up the road, so we walked to the Pub for a meal. The owner very kindly reopened for the six of us. The meals were very nice. My chicken schnitzel was juicy and tasty. Presentation was good too. After we were eating, another group of a dozen or more came too, looking for a meal. They were all attended to as well.

The Kentish was a great find. Even though we were quite late, the owner and chef got to work to provide a very satisfying meal. Our meals were excellent and prepared very promptly.
We were soon joined by about 20 friends. Again the crew were excellent in their service.
Well done.

What a fantastic place. We stopped for a beer heading south and on the way back came for breakfast as the place was so nice. The staff were all excellent and the owner was a pleasure to chat to.
The breakfast we had was very good, perfectly cooked eggs and great coffee.

Congratulations on the redevelopments! Enjoyed lunch in the beer garden today, after a leisurely walk around Lake Dulverton. Loved the menu - something for everyone in our group! Great service and atmosphere. And will definitely be returning to sample more from the menu!

Easy to drive by but don’t. This little cafe is a real find. Excellent food, coffee and service in a great atmosphere. Love my coffee and the coffee here was a high standard
S.
A very frequent customer for take away coffees here but today I sat down for breakfast before a meeting and I am so glad I took the time out of my day to do so. Delicious smashed avocado special with a poached egg - so fresh and zesty accompanied by beautiful coffee. A total asset to this regional town - Hobart quality food and coffee and well worth a call in.

Had the most wonderful experience! The staff were all so lovely, delicious food and great ambience. Would definitely go back ☀️

We weren't sure what to expect when we walked in. We both ordered chicken schnitzels with mushroom sauce and roasted vegetables. The meals were delicious, fresh and very generous servings. The staff were very friendly and polite. If we are in the area again we would definitely stop in for another meal.

What a wonderful late lunch we had today. Best steak sandwich I have had in years. Also took home a couple of treats for our supper this evening. Yummo.
Then to top it all off, a chat with the lovely Remy. Hope I spelt your name correctly. Thank you for the experience. You will be seeing us every time we travel the highway between North and South. So lovely to see a smiling face behind a counter.
A. M.
As soon as we walked in we were greeted with a beautiful smile and a warm hello.
There was a very tasty hamburger and succulent steak sandwich to be had.
Totally recommend this awesome cafe/ pub in Oatlands ,tassie

We travel around looking for the best breakfast places and we would safely say The Kentish is on that list now! The breakfast was generous and tasted amazing! Service was great and we will definitely be back!

The Kentish is a gorgeous cafe attached to the Kentish Hotel in Oatlands. The food was full of flavour and the mug of coffee hit the spot.
A must visit.

Food was good after a long day travelling.
Staff hospitality was amazing even though they were absolutely run off their feet and had a full house. They were so polite and friendly - it was a true credit to them and the establishment. Well done ladies 🙂

Recommended by a friend and lived up to the expected standard! Amazing food, coffee and staff. Will be visiting again.

We come here often from Hobart. It's a one hour drive byut the food's great and the staff are always happy. Only problem is that they're only one hour from Hobart and have Boags on tap instead of Cascade Draught. As a Hobartian this would stop me calling in for a drink. Just as well the food is so good and the missus loves the fish and chips. 😊
P. C.
Love this place. The Kentish is putting Oatlands back on the map. Staff, food, service, all excellent and the place is open consistently when you need them unlike many tasmanian eateries who open and close on a whim.
B. M.
Really great country pub defenetly worth a detour from the Midland Hwy has meals and a caffe

We dropped in at lunchtime on a Friday. By day it is essentially a bakery and a bar from 4pm (although alcoholic drinks can be ordered from the bar at any time). We ordered a breakfast, a tea and a coffee and later 2 glasses of wine. The food was nice , the prices reasonable and the service was friendly. We enjoyed our visit and would visit again.
K. W.
The go to for coffee on way to or from Hobart. Some great sweet treats too.
k. b.
Dark ale battered fish was tasty. Corn fritters with bacon were delicious. The chunky steak pie was a bit dry but flavourofvtge half filled case was nice. Club sandwich was also tasty. Drinks were also as expected.
w. s.
Very long wait for very basic food, possibly short staffed
W. K.
Great coffee, good looking cakes! Big a assortment
P. P.
Lovely food, friendly staff....

Selection of bakery products was limited when we visited but it was on a Friday in winter. What they had was fresh and delicious! Coffee was good as well. Will return.
S. M.
Very happy with the food and service, prompt and delicious.

Haven't posted for a while. But this one is worth the time. Had a light lunch and coffee at the Kentish today. Had to wait a little while, but it was quite busy.
The food and the coffee was great and worth the wait. My wait staff a young lady was faultless. Attentative. And caring.
Thoroughly recommend the the.stop into Oatlands if you are feeling hungry. Prices are good as well.
Cheers Rod

Since going under new management and renovations this place is an awesome find in Oatlands. Beautiful bar where you can sit and watch the sport Or the restaurant area where they serve amazing food that’s locally sourced, and wow you can tell.
Great service too. Very friendly and funny staff. Makes you feel like you’re in your hometown pub!
P. C.
A nice drive in the country led us to Oatlands and the bakery cafe at the Kentish. Good pastries, friendly service and nice coffee. We'll go back again as they're open for evening meals 3 days a week
C. B.

L. W.
Nice place for a coffee, a snack, pastry, or a meal. Young and courteous smiling staff and a nice.drive to Oatlands from Hobart. We're going back again and will buy some pastries to take home. Nice experience
B. V.
Ordered a pie and a side of chips, pie, didn't spill out like soup and was the right temperature to eat straight away and the chips, delish ! One of the best cappuccinos I've in a long time also.
B. B.
Was very busy around 1.30 when we arrived, food was really nice. Meals are on the larger size and great value. Service was impeccable.
D. V. s.
Very accommodating as we walked in to have a coffee ... gave us the table near the fire ... very nice sausage roll and lovely cuppa ... the

Great place for a stopover traveling the highway. Great little bakery in the pub.undergoing upgrades that look to be well though out.
G. D.
Welcoming staff. Great feed. Plenty of GF options. A hidden gem.
F. T.
You could spend the day just looking at all of collectables and pictures throughout the entire place, the food and drinks are great value and the service exceptional. Quirky toilets with car parts and tools all over the walls.
E. C.
I love the memorabilia along with the old fashioned good service from staff. Going over and above duty. Pies full of real meat. Catering to my dietary needs, great almond milk coffee and dairy free meals. Nothing is too much trouble. My fav place, coffee, woodfire and a comfy couch. Left in peace, packs of cards on the table. Unique and individual thought has been put into this retro place. LOVE THIS PLACE. Kentish Bakery Hotel have got a lot right. Xx
R. P.
A simply amazing place to visit, to stay, or for meals. They even have a small conference room... Each room decked out in nostalgic themes. Even the toilets are a walk into the past. absolute must stop in Oatlands.. and wow! The pies are amazing - try the scollop pies yum!
J. S.

Locals serving a local fare, no frills, just good pub food that you'll be satisfied with. Stayed and chatted with others traveling through, as well as our friendly bartender. This is the small country pub you have in your mind when looking to stay in a small town.
B. G.
The cafe and hotel, with lots of interesting memorabilia, were very appealing. The Armenian slice I had was delicious but the coffee was pretty ordinary.
M. F.
The bakery has excellent pies and coffee. Intriguingly decorated in an old-time movie theme. Good fire on cold days.
B. T.
Really nice small town pub in Oatlands with very friendly staff
K. H.
The choice for a reunion dinner. The lighting in the function room was not good, the meal however was. The managers had just taken over and did a good job for me.

I wouldn't call this place a bakery... Or stop again for the food. Though I didn't try the pies... However, quite a spectacular and improbable decor that's worth a look.
