Comments of Aireys Pub
S. M.
Wow, that was pretty special! Super easy to book in via the app, greeted and welcomed by some amazing staff, seated outside for a really intimate experience. Ordering was simple with the QR code at the table. Meals arrived quickly and were by far the most enjoyable we have had in some time! Capped off with an amazing sunset and desert! We will be back.
M. G.
Great pub with a vast beer garden area. The brewery attached (Salt Brewing Co) make some really solid beers and all served on tap. A couple of them are awesome for non-craft beer drinkers (try the Salt Lager or Session Ale) but plenty of beers to keep the hop-heads happy!
J. L.
great place for a catch-up. really chilled vibe. food is decent but maybe a little more pricey than you would expect for a pub meal. enjoyed the golden ale and the livy pale ale. be prepared and make sure you have your smart phone on you as food and drink is ordered via the barcodes found on the table which i did find convenient but, it also meant there was next to no wait staff interaction. would be happy to recommend this place still if you’re hungry and in the area or passing through.
K. C.
Friendly efficient staff. Varied pub fare style menus. Relaxed atmosphere. Electronic order/pay system slow to load but worked well and meals delivered quickly, hot and fresh. Bit pricey.
K. A.
Nice enough pub. Meals not impressive. Friendly staff. Ink stout a winner.
t. w.
In my totally biased opinion this is one of Australia’s great pub / breweries. The staff are great, the food is tasty, the beer is epic, awesome sunsets and a beer garden big enough to kick a footy.
T. G.
We went here with a family of six. The service was fast. The bread platter, saganaki, and calamari was good. The chicken curry was exceptional. Fish and chips was excellent. The eggplant dish was nothing special. The fish and gnocchi were ok and pork medallions were good. The only negative was they bought all our entrees and mains together which really did not work at all. As there was too much all at once. Def worth a visit tho
R. G.
3 stars for the location. Facilities were clean. I was with friends who all ate. The meals were average. I had the baked gnocchi. The flavour was ok, not special. I was a bit surprised by the portion size. I think for $33 it was very overpriced and more like an entree serve.
G. I.
Excellent service, food and drinks, especially under the circumstances of staffing shortages due to covid. All the staff were working at their peak efficiency the whole time, very commendable effort, nothing but respect.
L. H.
Lovely venue and tasty food, however if you have coeliacs disease we probably wouldn’t recommend it even though there are plenty of GF options on the menu. There is a disclaimer on the menu that they cannot guarantee that their food is 100% safe, which is fair enough because they don’t claim to be a GF only kitchen. Make sure you ask all the right questions and alert staff if you do decide to risk it… cross contamination got us pretty bad!

730 Friday night busy, cheery, well run. Food good but not exceptional, service efficient.
Surprised at house wine costing $13.50. Also surprised no low alcohol beer at the bar, they had run out as they had run out of orange juice. Otherwise ok.
R. W.
Food was alright if maybe a little overpriced. The staff were spread pretty thin so they were very inattentive. This meant no water was given when we were seated, and dirty plates weren't cleared in a timely manner. We also couldn't tell who was staff as no one seemed to wear any kind of uniform?
There were no physical menus and no clear option to order in person meaning the only option was a QR code. We had some issues with orders not going through and the food didn't come out at the same time. Some people had already finished their meals before others got their food.
They need more staff and should implement a traditional ordering system alongside the QR codes.
L. M.
Great location for New Years Eve on a balmy night.
B. H.
Nice spot, good atmosphere and open area for large groups / families. Burger was good but not worth $25, served with okay chips. Pulled pork quesadilla did not live up to expectations and very over priced at $25 for what it was. Sad times. Would come back for a drink but not for food personally.
B. A.
We had a fantastic time here. The beers were spot on, staff were friendly and food excellent. The oysters were a highlight personally. I believe that this joint is the premier beer venue on the Great Ocean Road. Unlike others who make the same claim, Aireys seem to prioritise quality over quantity. 6 stars if I could.
s. w.
Had a fantastic vego burger for lunch, accompanied by some awesome live music and great beers. Keep the good work up!
E. M.
Five of us arrived to Airey’s Pub on a Sunday night for some dinner. We ordered a chicken parmigiana, Thai chicken curry and prosciutto pizza. The chicken from the chicken parmigiana was slightly dry and the chips slightly salty, but the prosciutto pizza and chicken curry were both flavoursome and delicious. We also really enjoyed doing the kids colouring (despite the fact we are young adults). I think the prices are a bit excessive, which is another reason I have given the pub 3/5 stars. The customer service was good and the food was served pretty quickly. Thank you to Aireys Pub. We had an enjoyable dinner.
Z. S.
A great place to eat, drink or party! Went there on a Saturday night and the atmosphere was electric but beware the music can get a little loud! The food is a little over-priced but my chicken Parma was thick and juicy! Can’t forget the great selection of beer on tap and the fantastic location. Lots of parking, clean, staff were friendly and knowledgeable and the crowd was fantastic! Was definitely a good little pit-stop on the road trip.
E. C.
A Wonderful lunch at Aireys Pub. Staff were warm and welcoming despite sharing the news that beer taps were not working (which was a bummer - but the bottle beer range is broad). The meals were a good size, lovely and fresh and served at a good temperature. Kids loved having a play on the boat outside. Highly recommend you book in advance - great spot for families and larger groups.
K. T.
Great food, sustainably sources food, vegan options and live music sometimes! I absolutely love this place :)
T. K.
The place has a great feel and vibe to it. The price for the food however is high. First ever time I paid $40.00 for a beef Burger with salad, chips and a ginger beer. This included a service charge of 12% which was also unexpected. Staff are friendly to interact with.
K. H.
We had a table of 11 for Mums 81st birthday and everyone had the best night and everyone’s meal was sensational.
Thank you you to the staff for helping with the clearing of the table and presenting the cake.
We had the best night ,I’m gladly heading back to order what others in our group had ordered ( so much menu envy)
Keep up the good work and compliments to the chef ⭐️🤸♀️

The perfect spot for a drive break! Really pleased with our choice to stop here for lunch with our small dog on our way back into Melbourne along the Great Ocean Road. A large venue with ample parking and plenty of outdoor seating - overall a nice, relaxed atmosphere. Tasty, quality food with lots of vegetarian and healthy options and a great selection of beers.
M. K.
A nice selection of their own brewed Great beer, great friendly service and tasty food.
Top that with some good background music and the experience cannot get better.
S. R.
Great vibe, fast food service using online ordering from table. Tasty meals.
N. Y.
Simply gorgeous. Great food+service, sitting out in the beer garden with the view over Fairhaven beach, listening to kids having a good time, beer in hand. What more can life offer
P. C.
Check your bill. I bought a bottle of red for $17.50 and three small bottles of Coopers from their smallish bottle department. Paid $33.50 without thinking. It wasn't till I checked my credit card that night that I realised I'd somehow paid $5.30 each for three small bottles of beer. Unless that is the price, but it seems exorbitant.
A. F.
Really great place for lunch and a beer! Great food, fresh brewed beer that is really good and there is something for everyone.
Dog friendly outside, and COVID safe procedures topped off by friendly service.
Highly recommend to anyone travelling through Aireys - or great for a day trip!
B. B.
Ordered a salad bowl + plus chicken, $36. Onion rings $12 for 10 rings, making them $1.20 per ring! Great pub in a lot of ways but over-priced.
A. D.
Great pub, food, setting and friendly staff. Somewhere you can spend a Long time sitting around. Really good and varied selection of food and drink on the menu
S. Q.
Such a great pub and location!! Great wine list and Iive music!!
C. H.
We went for dinner two nights running, the Buddha bowl is so good I had it both times.
Partner was very happy with steak one night and parmigiana the other. Recommend
D.
Amazing experience! The tasting paddle was really good, the beers were even better. Just had a bowl of chips and they were superb yummy. The woman that served us was amazing, really funny and really kind!
G. M.
The quesadillas are superb with lots of fresh herbs. Yummy
M.
The food was great, as was the staff. The ordering system was easy and effective. I also enjoyed my coffee! Would recommend.

Came here from
Melbourne for the week. The food is awesome. Their meatball pizza is probably one of the best pizzas I have ever had
A. C.
Celebrated a 70th birthday tonight and enjoyed the food and service but found the heavy metal music being played all night a real turn off. As we paid the bill , I asked the lady at the till who decides what music is to played and she replied that the staff choose the music from Spotify in context of the observed ambience. I pointed out that more than half the cliental that night were well over 50 and would have perhaps appreciated more appropriate music. She respectfully and helpfully said she would pass on our feedback but the misreading of the ambience is a real barrier to returned custom.
H. S.
Very good pizza. Everything here are expensive and not too many options.
K. A.
Fantastic staff. Very well set up with COVID measures all in place. Try the in house Salt Beer, it’s fantastic, and also more importantly, the food was delicious. Five stars for the view alone, and a cosy fireplace to dine near during winter. Lovely ambience tops it all off.
R. A.
Great food & good sized portions - a few vegan options and they cater for other dietary requirements too. Lovely atmosphere, and an awesome outdoor dining area!
N. S.
Came here today for Mother’s Day and it was wonderful! Lovely meals (I had the eye fillet) and great service. Lauren also went the extra mile with all of our families numerous dietary requirements which was highly appreciated. Views were lovely and there was space for kids to kick the footy. With family now moving to the area we will be sure to return 👍🏻
T. R.
Expensive for pub type meals. Cold in area we were sitting and noisy unfortunately due to one of the other tables. Food was very nice and fresh. Waitress serving was lovely
D. S.
This pub and brewery is located off the main road to Aireys Inlet. The menu is excellent as are the meals. I had a chance to try several items and specials over several visits and I can say that I was not disappointed by any of the meals. The pub has a mini brewery in the back so you can try some of their home brews in a offering that gives you a try at them all. The pub also has live music on the weekend and extensive outdoor patio spaces. The service is good, however, you have to order your food and drink at the bar and that is the only thing I didn't like especially when they were busy. Having to line up to order is OK at McDonalds, but not in this environment. Hence the 4 rather than 5 stars.
J. M.
Love the new ordering system!! #thankscovid ☺️
Food was good, no complaints.
Good family vibe and all the extra seating makes such a difference.
D. S.
Excellent experience for us. Last minute pop in on our way home and I'm glad we did. Staff were happy and attentive. Drinks cold and the food good! Yes the food is expensive but it's worth it! Support the small guys!
S. C.
Came here for dinner on our minimoon back in August and was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. We treated ourselves to the daily special with seafood, and it was fresh and delicious. Service was professional and kind, as we knew we were rather late when we arrived outside of their peak season. Thanks for your great hospitality!
M. B.
Great spot for families, large lawn where kids can play. Nice outdoor setting where the parents can watch too. Beer good and food good, neither outstanding. Food a little bit dear but drinks good price.
M. C.
This place is sensational. The food was absolutely delicious (easily the best Parma I've had in years), the staff are fantastic, and the service is unmatched. We received our food in under 10 minutes of ordering and everything was done with a smile. I will be recommending this place to anyone coming to the area.
A. R.
Great setting, specially outdoors. The beers are okay, middle range. Food service is super quick. They need heating outdoors or blankets as it does get a bit of wind chill.
C. N.
Plenty of options for a vegetarian like myself, but averagly over priced and average quality food. Better off going down the road for Captains Pizza experience. But if you want the restaurant (not pub) experience, come here if your stuck in the area. Having said that (that being my harsh review I only gave because it came as a notification on my Android) I will leave saying the ale is tasty.
M. F.
Food is ok and comes out quickly, but is very over priced and tates pre-made then warmed when you order. Its ok, but I doubt I'd go here again.
r.
A nice place to eat in a great location, however this place is so overpriced for a pub. The food was nice and staff reasonably attentive.
t. a.
The food was delicious and our table of 6 all enjoyed what they had....and the open space outside kept the kids busy. The in house brewery produces some tasty beers with a tasting paddle the way to ....if you aren't driving!
M. B.
Great atmosphere. Great food. I ordered the steak sandwich, it was incredible. Most steak sandwiches are simple yet tasty; a good cut off meat, cooked to perfection with maybe some cheese and lettuce on top and sometimes a dijon sauce in a fresh crispy piece of bread cooked in house. This had all of those, plus tomato, bacon and a fried egg accompanied with some of the best crispy fries I've ever had.
It was a massive sandwich needing two hand to operate. I almost couldn't finish it, but eventually I conquered my foe, its juices spattered across my napkin.
WARNING: Do not order this sandwich on a date. It's incredibly messy and the aftermath is a severe case of food coma.
S. B.
Lovely, relaxing place on the Great Ocean Road. The servings are generous and yummy. The day's special was fresh calamari which was very good at a reasonable price.
S. “. M.
Nice food, set up is good. Not a huge menu which is nice. Would go back.
K. K.
Great spot, the food is good but not cheap
B. A.
Was here last night and had a great time. The beer is properly delicious and the food was good too. There was a music festival on too and it was awesome.
Great pub great beer great time.
S. G.
The beer earns 5 stars but the pub food and service let's it down.
Friend: "Can I get the burger but no bun."
Staff: "Yes okay... Are you sure you want a burger without the bun?"
Friend: "Yes".
Staff: "So it's just a deconstructed burger with no bread? Are you sure?"
Friend: "Yes".
A few minutes later...
Staff: "Your partner, friend or whoever, just so I'm sure, it's just a pattie and salad, no bread that she wants"
Me: "YES!!!!"
Meal comes, no cheese on the burger. Asked about it...
Me: "Can we please get the cheese on this burger."
Staff: "Sure, sure".
Me: "Unless they've started putting gluten in the cheese."
No response.
Staff took it away and brought it back with cheese. No apology was given. Just put down in front of my friend. It's a shame they didn't offer an apology after they'd already challenged and interrogated what we wanted so repeatedly.
It doesn't matter someone's motivations, they should be able to make slight amendments to the dishes, particularly when simply removing items. We are always quite sure when we order and don't need second, third or fourth guessing. We have eaten out before and understand the premise of ordering the food we want to eat.
S. R.
Great place for events and great food as well.
Plus even has wonderful views of the great Ocean road and the ocean as well.
M. B.
Been here twice just to make sure it wasn't a fluke. Amazing beer, fantastic staff, great food and delicious desserts. Any time I'm down this way, I'll be stopping by for sure. 3 words to finish off.... sticky date pudding.
K. M.
The loss of person contact with the modern computer menu, however extremely efficient grear service. Meals were perfect.
D. “.
Great Atmosphere beautiful location
The food was delicious and staff were fabulous .
P. C.
Consistently great. Gyozas, tempura scallops to die for. Craft Beers and great local wines. I can't rave enough about the Woolsey cab sav. A local treasure. And the ambiance and service is great too.
J. H.
Haven't had a bad experience yet!
I've been through for a few dinners and drinks, it's a great atmosphere, the staff are friendly and I haven't been disappointed with the food at all.
The only setback would be the price but aside from that it would be 5 stars for sure!
B. B.
