Don’t often eat Spainish food. It was a nice experience and was very tasty. Good wine list, friendly staff and lovely flavour combinations. Perfect spot on a warm summers evening.

The service was absolutely fantastic. The wine selection is also pretty good. The food is slightly average. And when you think that you are in Melbourne and the food everywhere is pretty amazing, the food at Lourinha was just average. We had a Tuna Kibbeh was not a kibbeh at all. The croquete was also pretty average. But the mushroom dish was amazing.

The place is cosy. The night I was there, the place had a lot of walk in customers. The service was very good and the food was very nice. I had to score slightly lower as 2 of the seafood dishes had sand in them, making it a bit unpleasant. We let the staff know and they were very good about it. This is what makes the difference for me. When people can handle criticism and try to resolve the situation; that is appreciated when sometimes things don't go right. I would definitely return as the food was delicious. We had a good night out.

I read about Bar Lourinhã in an article outlining Melbournes best restaurants and shortlisted it as a restaurant I wanted to try during our stay in Melbourne. My partner and I ended up eating here for lunch a few days ago to celebrate a special occasion and I am so glad we did. The service was absolutely outstanding. Our waiter was very friendly, courteous and attentive. To be honest, we would return just for the service alone as it truly was what made the overall experience so amazing. The food was very good value for money and tasted incredible. We especially liked the bug croquettes, the chickpea and spinach dish, and the roasted mushrooms. We look forward to returning to Bar Lourinhã again :)

Very good tapas restaurant overall. The food was super tasty. We loved the smoked eggplant cigars (so smoky!!), and mushrooms had a great sauce that made it amazing for dipping the bread in. The pimentos were also incredible.

I've been here twice and I'd say the first visit was a 5-star visit but the second was a bit of a let down. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't a bad meal but for what you're paying, I expect a lot more. Their menu changes all the time depending on what's available locally, which I love. You do see some things come back though so to run you through this order: I'd recommend: the coffee, best long black I've had in a long time. The fried zucchini flower, which was crisp and well seasoned. The mackerel with pimenton XO, which was very well seasoned though a bit of a hassle to get off the bone. Both the almond/cheesecake dessert and the chocolate silk were lovely. I'd miss: the eggplant toast, which was just bland and dry. The corn & chilli croqueta was under-seasoned and downright goopy in the middle. The anchovy pintxo, while enjoyable is just too overpriced, if you bought quality anchovies and olives you could make this at home for next to nothing.

Lunch today with two others. At front of restaurant looking onto ugly car park. Restaurant almost empty after not being able to get into a number of full restaurants nearby. We had two entrees which were both rather ordinary / tasteless. The three mains were artichokes with cheese (again tasteless) chicken (really quite nice) and skirt steak which was fairly tough and tasted to me like it was on the way to being off. We won’t be back.

7/10 Just short of "wow" After you eat, drink and spend too much, you can go upstairs and say a few "Hail Mary" for some redemption on your way to the toilet, but seriously, whatever you do there you must check out their toilets. It's one of those rare, hidden gems in Melbourne; premium location, top-end Little Collins st, the back-lane of the Paris end. stand-alone vintage building, tiny, intimate, lux, leather bench dining space, collection of pans, baking moulds, travel memorabilia plates,dried chillies, garlics hanged all over the walls, eclectic feels of the old and new world, rustic, old Mediterranean but the food is definitely modern, well made, presented, small and priced accordingly, you need to order a few tapas style dishes too. The prominent, long bar in the centre of the main dining area is well-stocked with many goodies, and won't leave you thirsty nor your credit card unexercised, the cheapest wine by the glass was $14.00, is there no gluttony of wine supplies in the world at the moment? Great service from the team, just not allowed to take photos using our mobile phones due to covid, and yet, they are handling our plates, spoons, forks, glasses, etc with no gloves on, oh well, must be the "new modern world" SOP. The extended footpath, outdoor dining area is okay, with the view of the concrete car park across, try to get a table inside, if you are going to spend that kind of money. It was a good lunch, just short of "wow", not one of those "wow" I'm coming back here next week.

A last minute walked in turned out to be a sensational find @bar_lourinha . Great service from the point we were received, the waiting area, our table/seats at the bar, till we leave the bar. Warm, genuine peeps who know their stuffs and happy to accomodate/assist even when the bar was packed!! Nothing is impossible here. Half bottle = half price; half serve of mains = half price, I’m like woah... And most importantly, the food is sooo good. My personal fav is the perfectly grilled squid with chimmichurri sauce. From their specials, we had pipis with broad beans, soft shell crab slider, and pedron peppers. Every bite was full with flavours and my palette was very happy indeed 😋 Mushroom croquettes were very good too but a tad too small 😅 All in all, will happily recommend and head back soon☺️

Went to Bar Lourinha for the Melbourne Food and Wine festival express lunch. $40 for a meal plus wine which is normally two courses, but Bar Lounhina did one for four courses. We started off with some peppers, apparently one in five of them are spicy. We ate most of them which weren’t that spicy, then the last one was super spicy! Next we got to choose our entrees. We both chose the lightly cured kingfish. It was deliciously fresh. My friend then had the chicken with sesame and chilli oil, which felt like an asian dish to me 😝. I normally won’t choose chicken because if they weren’t cooked correctly it might be really tough. However the little piece that I tried was beautifully tender and it did not taste like an Asian dish at all 🤪 I had the pipis with piri piri butter, which I expected it to be spicy, but it wasn’t at all. Not that it mattered, the sauce was still delicious, although I felt the pipis were slightly overcooked so they were a bit chewy. For dessert we’re got some fresh fruits with crushed pistachios and labne, which is a refreshing and healthy end to a delicious lunch. The portions are not huge to be honest, it was just right for me so if you have a big eater with you, you might want to order something on the side. The awesome thing with Bar Lourinha is that if you don’t drink wine, they have an option with your $40 lunch express for mocktail or beer.

A lovely rainy day find. My partner and I dropped past on our way to dinner. We didn't have a reservation but they managed to squeeze us in. The staff were very friendly and ensured that we were COVIDsafe, which as healthcare workers, we really appreciated. We were seated at the bar with a good view of the variety of wines available. We started off with some excellent wines from an extensive drinks list and followed this up with corn croquettes. The aim of this restaurant is quality over quantity. The portions are on the small side, but what you get is exceptional. We decided to follow this up with something sweet, and the orange buñuelos were excellent and enough to share. We left two very happy customers :)

Bar Lourinha is an amazing place with great food and service. We went in for dinner on a Saturday night, so the place was quite busy. The waitress explained each dish we enquired about in detail, especially when explaining the specials. The highlights for me were the olives, white anchovies, chorizo with purple potato and the lamb shoulder. Had a bottle of Spanish Tempranillo to wash it all down. It’s worth noting they are able to cater to groups unlike some similar restaurants and they do an express lunch menu.

Wonderful tapas restaurant! I walk by Lourinha everyday on the way to work and have always been meaning to pop in - and we are sure glad we did! Their food was really good, however, it's a bit pricey and since it's tapas, the plates are really small and so i'm not really sure if it's too worth it. The food is great, but the price adds up since their portions are smaller. I would say their dishes are smaller than the average tapas dish, but definitely still worth a try if you're only after one or two dishes. We also had their churros as a dessert which were really good! As for service, it was great! No complaints at all and the servers were really nice and helpful in making selections.

I stopped here for a coffee and realised I would have to visit for lunch. Welcoming atmosphere and staff in a "bar with tables" setting. However the food is just way beyond bar food. Extraordinarily good tapas with some larger dishes too. My colleague and I asked the waitress to feed us and she rose to the cchallenge. Fried zucchini flowers, raw tuna with lightly pickled radishes and a slow roasted lamb neck. Fabulous. Dessert was this light cheese dish (between creme Catalan and cheesecake, I'd say) with fruits. Perfect.

We booked for 12 people and the table we got was VERY tight and we had another 6 rock up however the owner moved heaven and earth ti get us into the private dining room upstairs and effectively arrange a private dinner at a moment's notice. Called with 15 mins notice to ask for a quick early 45 min dinner for 4 last Sat - the staff accommodating and fantastic! They had us fed and watered in the requested time to make a show. Tapas is about sharing and we shared well with the assistance of the staff on our selection. I think this is an intimate, lively and well managed venue with excellent staff. We have been looking for a lovely casual tapas place, where we can sit at the bar, eat some delicious food and drink spanish wines. Bar Lourinha more than delivered!
