Comments of Bartronica
T. S.
Great place with a fun vibe. If you love retro arcade games and a drink, this is the place to go! Whether it's for a quiet drink and some Mariokart 64 after work during the week, or to be at an energetic arcade game bar on the weekend, this is the spot to go! Very friendly staff and somewhere I regularly go to celebrate a birthday or just have a drink with friends. Have been coming here a few years now, and still stands firm as one of my fave bars ever!!! Can highly recommend. Special shoutout to Emmy and Bazz currently keeping the place going. Go support Bartronica after these hard couple of years with lockdowns.
M. V.
Fun atmosphere and decent offer of games. The private booths are really cool. My only con would be the overall maintenance and cleanliness, they could do a bit better here.
K. [.
Great bar, love the vibes. Cool atmosphere every time, overall just really friendly and fun. Drinks are on the pricier side but well worth it. Machines don't take cash, but token exchangers are dotted around. Love taking visitors to Melbourne here, always have a great time.
M. H.
Love it, retro gaming and drinks! Great to play classics like Time Crisis and Daytona again!
c. C.
Average experience. Games were not in good operational order across the board. Playfields filthy (only have four tables to maintain!), Dead Pool had flipper issues, GI issues and main scoop wasn’t registering. Volumes on all tables inaudible. NBA jam’s buttons weren’t correctly wired and way too expensive. Many CRT monitors need chassis rebuilding. Bar staff were mostly inexperienced and couldn’t pull a head on the $10 beers. Stringent vaccine checks, yet no soap in the toilets! N64 games looked terrible on the modern LCD screens. Cool venue but could be much improved.
M. B.
Fun bar. Would recommend the venue to consider nicer glasses for the cocktails as they don't look as nice as the taste. Love going here for after work drinks, date nights & catching up with friends
W. G.
You're not coming here for a late range of food (options were a bag of potato chips, nachos and one other) or inexpensive drinks, your coming because it's a fun place to hang out for a while and, seems to be, one of the few places you can play pinball in the city.
S. G.
Awesome bar with retro arcade and pinball goodness. Lots of great games to play. Go during the week and you'll have your pick of any machine. Weekend are obviously busier and you'll likely have to take turns. Good beer choices and a chill atmosphere. Fun place to hang out and spend an evening.
G. B.
Not many options for cocktails, can only really recommend Yoshi’s Island. The arcade games were great, but when we were in the booth we only played Mario Kart, not sure if we could play other games but worth asking as we overplayed it when we went.
L. S.
Love the vibe of this bar. Mario Kart booth is especially awesome.
E. H.
Wandered in after seeing the awesome door art as we passed. Top venue! Amazing choice of games that brought back a ton of memories. Tons of cabinets, early classics through to mid 90's well covered and great to see some harder to find cabs like Golden Axe there! Cabs run on a paid token system but plenty of free play consoles in several booths; the setup tonight was one SNES and several N64s but I saw some master system games to the side so may have others on request.
Good beer selection and lots of gaming pun-infused cocktails at the bar. Pinball machines, more cabs, an outside area and a (not yet open) private Mario Kart Booth behind it.
Chopped some knees as Odd-Job, hogged some edges in Smash and sent out plenty of sadistically timed blue shells. Played Point Blank until our fingers and pride hurt (beat my score, "EDD").
Here on a trip from London and usually get my fix at Four Quarters or Gamerdisco, this place scrubs up very well in comparision. Top night, will be back before we leave!
J. F.
Great bar great staff awesome music , bartender Emii has amazing attitude and great cocktails , reasonably priced drinks and awesome vibe
J.
Niche little bar for retro gaming in the heart of the city. Slightly cramped in regards to space and with the way the machines are laid out (as best as possible). Cocktails were okay but a bit steep in regards to pricing. I can only remember it being dark with an eerie red light with lights illuminating from the machines. Would recommend going if you want to relive that sweet sweet nostalgia.
A. M.
This place is cool! Grab a booth with some friends, the Barman will click a cartridge of your choice into the console & you can just enjoy your night! There’s plenty of machines to enjoy too. The bar has heaps of spirits, a bit light on the wine but they do have a happy hour. There is a large outdoor courtyard for those who smoke
S. M.
Really cool bar, but very expensive drinks. $11 a schooner, 20$ cocktails which are mainly juice. Great decor and vibe though, it's nice to see everyone playing games and having fun. I'd be happy to pay those drink prices if the arcade cabinets were on freeplay
K. L.
Great place to play old school arcade games whilst drinking. Some of their machines are a bit faulty - Daytona Racing, missing gun
E. W.
Great bar!!! Very good selection of uprights, pinball and consoles... Awesome. Great soundtrack to the bar too... Brings back that 80s feel!! Happy hour early doors...
L. T. B.
Fantastic bar ! Loving playing all the retro/ old school games 👍👍👍👍
H. T.
This is a really sick place, the arcade games are great. You guys should start introducing a bar menu with food next! 😉
B. L.
Super fun place 🥰🥰
Staff is friendly. Place is renovated recently.
Drinks are yum. Love the one in the pic. I forgot what it called.
Will come back!
R. B.
Best place ever!! Old school arcade games with great cocktails with great names
Yoshis island etc
J. G.
Really cool video themed bar. There's nearly all of the old generation consoles, nintendo, SNES, PSone, Xbox and more.
There's also pinball machines and more arcade cabinets that you can throw a barrel at.
Only complaint is that some of the machines have wonky coin slots. They all work, from what we noticed, but sometimes you'll be stuck popping the coins in over and over before it actually accepts it.
Minor complaint as. Everything else about this place just hits all the right nostalgia buttons.
M. M.
Such a fun bar! The whole place is filled with games and it isn’t too expensive. There was only one bartender when we went and he was doing an amazing job considering the big rush of people that came in (I know the photo doesn’t look busy but it was)
R. D.
I was looking for something to do and Bartronica answered. The custom IIPA from Mountain Goats breweries, Rye Fighter, was delicious but also $25 a bottle. I thoroughly recommend it all the same. I indulged my video game youth with a few pinballs and a classic Timeout. A great spot for a quiet beer.
M. M.
Really fun. Great espresso martini. Great service.
10/10 would pump tokens into Time Crisis II again
A. F.
Love this little hole in the wall. Excellent selection of classic arcade games. Not too old (like pong) but not so new that you'd prefer playing on a console at home. Drinks at a decent Melbourne CBD price with a smoking patio and video games. A must see for old and new school social nerds and geeks like us.
G. R.
Great place full of nostalgia. Arcade and Pinball machines from the good old days everywhere and consoles too. Good variety of beers and great selection of 80's music playing. My new favourite spot in Melbourne. I give four stars just because the nachos are very poor. It was more sour cream than anything else. Sad.
T.
This place takes you back to the 90s where arcade and gaming consoles where super popular.
They have a decent selection of beers, wine and cocktails. But the selection of arcade games were pretty impressive as some of the games I haven’t seen since 90s.
The night was a lot of fun.
L.
Awesome staff, very friendly and did their best to serve people in the right order.
The games were good and it gave people some fun things to do instead of sitting and talking.
Two downsides:
All the token machines were out of service so if you wanted to play the arcade machines you had to go to the bar and wait quite a while.
We booked a booth for 10 people and the area given was *just* big enough for 8
C. F.
Such a cool retro game bar. Lots of different games (console, pinball, arcade machines and private rooms to play with you have a group). The staff is very nice and helpful. Really worth a visit, such a fun place to be.
M. Z.
I definitely love this place ! You can enjoy a drink playing old (video) games with friends. Attention, try to arrive earlier is you want a console.
E. S.
came here with work group. lots of nostalgia here! equipment is well looked after and staff were super attentive and enjoyed what they do. had good time with many laughs. golden eye, golden axe, street fighter from the late 1980s!
J. Y.
Great vibe, lots of people games are pretty cool. there is an atm and token machine to play games which are mostly $2 a game. nice outdoor area, not quite sure how hygienic it could be since everyone just walks around and plays games on different arcade machines but was fun.
S. R.
Fun venue with many games for the taking (of your dollars). Gets pretty busy come 7 on the weekend with snack offerings and semi-surly staff, it’s a great alternative to a swanky bar. Would be a fun date location too.
W.
Fun bar, great games and funny bar tender, i think her name Emii
S. H.
It was a good night out but there is so much potential to be better. We reserved a private area which ended up having very little game selection and seemed like a bit of a waste booking the area, there were other areas which were much better we just unfortunately didn’t get those ones. Perhaps having a game list for each area would be helpful too.
Some cool retro arcade games though and the cocktails were delicious.
D.
Lots of fun
But very noisy hard to talk
T. N.
it was fun and have alot of retro games. But the price if you paid for the game is quite expensive :D. actually some of games you could play for free. :D
S.
Great bar with lots of retro arcade and pinball machines. Plenty of booths set up with old Nintendo consoles and wide variety of games. Private gaming room available for hire aswell.
A. L.
I came here with family and friends for drinks and had a great time. Dare I say it, it was a "blast from the past". A great balance of pinball machines, arcade shooters, the classics: Pacman, Street Fighter, 1942, etc. There are also booths with Nintendo 64s in them to which the staff can swap the cartridges over for you - these are great to share some laughs and drinks with mates. There's also a beer garden to the side of the venue which is predominantly lit with a pale blue neon light and artwork from Duke Nukem. The neon, reading as a quote from the game (or 1988 movie "They Live") - see picture. Other than that, all of the stand alone games require 1-2 tokens to play, tokens are acquired via the "Change Stations" (1 token = $1). Good times. Thanks Bartronica!
s.
Never miss out on a trip here while in melbourne. Great mix of games. Great amount of pinballs. Gets a bit out during busy periods but you will always get that with a popular place.
S. O.
True Melbourne hidden gem - Unique craft beers on tap, try the NASA XPA if you can...really tasty brew. I also noticed a good selection of quality spirits on the shelf too.
They have classic game consoles like Nintendo 64 built in to the table, really cool feature and it doesn't cost you any extra. They have all the best old arcade games too.
If your a 90s kid, a retro nerd, or you just like your games this is the place to come see.
W. M.
A bit small and crowded but great vibe for catching up with friends.
C.
Absolutely amazing atmosphere! I definitely recommend checking this place out if you like arcade games and good drinks
M. G.
Not the easiest place to find, look for the mini arcade machine above the entrance. Great retro arcade games, was a couple of my favorites not working which was a shame.
D. C.
Always a great place to spend time with friends, great staff, great games, best nerd bar in Melbourne.
T. R.
Staff are super helpful and friendly. Drinks are on the expensive side. Can get really busy here. I've been a few times and it's a great place to take people who haven't been before
D. B.
Plenty of arcade games, there's also SNES and N64! Cozy place with reasonably priced drinks. Good for 1 or more people.
D. O.
Had an awesome time here playing old school arcade games such as Pacman, Donkey Kong, Ice Cold Beer, Mortal Kombat, and a few pinball machines too.
B. M.
Pretty stoked with the overall experience. The arcade theme is sick, and the atmosphere is rad. They could do with more vegan options however, but apart from that it was excellent. The staff were also very happy and friendly, especially Georgia, who was extremely helpful and smiley, despite being British. Overall, a divine little bar!
P. C. E. C.
This is a very cool venue with Retro arcade, pinball and video games to play.
A. D.
Really cool bar! Relaxed bartender happy to have a chat or not if you want. Fun games, awesome atmosphere and really nice cocktails! Plus the happy hour drinks are cheap and tasty!! Definitely will visit again
J. F.
This is a nice little place to go with friends. The arcades are fun to play with in between chats, drink prices aren't too bad and never huge lines at the bar to wait.
J. V.
Awesome bar especially for gen X and kids who grew up in the 90's
K. W.
Awesome arcade bar. Perfect place to catch up with mates. The bartender Barry was most accommodating.
O. T.
Awesome place! Great gaming machines in top condition. Fun atmosphere. Good beers
S. B.
Best bar in Melbourne! Always fantastic service, a wonderful range of drinks, with knowledgeable bar tenders. And the vintage arcade machines, lovingly maintained are the icing on the cake! From free to play "retro" consoles, to the best of the recent pinball machines, and everything in between. I could loose a whole weekend in here!
M. S.
Friendly staff. Good variety of games. Great for a first date, or pres. Drinks are pricey. Free entry. Games standard arcade price. Great N64 game variety- free to play.
Can be very busy. Can accommodate groups if quiet. Depends on the night. If busy may not get an N64 to play. Private area can be booked for parties.
J. M.
Still nowhere near the level of gaming I would think this page should have, but the customer service is next level.
a. G.
Awesome place and if you get in on a quiet night the booths are ready to go. A million bonus points for Black Sabbath on the radio!!!
L. G.
Great place for pinnies and old school arcade games. Must cost them a fortune to keep these old gaming machines running so good on them for doing that! Beer OK had a red ale on tap and a good selection of gin.
B. C.
Pretty amazing, I didn't know what to expect when I was taken here. Old retro games and cheap drinks are always great, keep a look out for free credit games here! The assorted pinball machines were crazy cool, though the Star Wars one does tend to get a line. I don't know what it's like at night, but this is easily a must go bar if you're into old school video games, even if you are a casual gamer. Best if you go with people so you can compete with them in the various games.
B. L.
Love it here. Great beer, fantastic atmosphere. The range of arcade machines is great, they vary from 1942 to street fighter to tmnt in time. The recent referb is also very tasteful. They also have themed booths for hire, where you can play classic console games. What more could you want?!
T. B.
First time and definitely won't be the last. Who doesn't love old school games, cocktails and nachos?
Great for a group or a chill date.
Hands down best bartender I've ever met!
Josh was so friendly and accommodating, being someone very picky with their cocktails he made them to perfection couldn't stop at just 1..or 5
Z. W.
A neat little bar for the geek in all of us. Staff are friendly, drinks were nice and I had a blast playing Smash 64 on the freely supplied N64s they had set up around the venue. Arcades machines were pricey of course but definitely not out of line with everyone else.
C. M.
One of my favorite places to finish a big afternoon /night, or at least have a stopover on the way to elsewhere.
Great range of games, good for groups if you can book the booths with the Nintendo. They do hot dogs if your desperate for a snack and they have a good beer range.
Good outdoor space if you need a break from the lights and noise as well.. But not sure why you would.
C.
Love this place!! A large, rotating selection of original arcade games, along with several nintendo consoles set up that you can play for free, including the Mario Kart room which can be booked out for a small function. Great selection of spirits. Only downside is the lack of phone reception - a real drawback of you need to give directions!
S. B.
Had a really nice night here. Found the place by accident but was not disappointed.
The classic arcade games and old school consoles were heaps of fun. The staff were really nice too!
The only downside I found was that the drinks were suuppper expensive.
But still a fun night!
A. H.
Small, only two beers on tap. Good nostalgia factor, had fun with my daughter playing old school mariocart
J. T.
Really nice venue, great idea with all the retro arcade games! Can be expensive, poor guy behind the bar had been left to run it with little to no briefing whatsoever. Can get really busy which is great to see! Just feeling like upper management / owners need to spend a bit more money on staffing! To the guy working: you're doing an amazing job, hope you get more help soon!
A. S.
Awesome bar. Such a cool variety of arcade games, and the overall aesthetic is really interesting and nerdy (in a good way). I like that they have lots of different N64s, as you don't have to pay to play them, and they often rotate games like Mario Cart and Super Smash Bros. The drinks are a bit on the expensive side, but they're good quality. Often gets busy, but a nice place to grab a bev, and have a gaming sesh
A. B.
Nice place to hang out
Lots of games hard to not find interesting an game
Change machine and ATM available
Smoking zone for smokers
Toilet Male Female and Physically challenged
Good list of cocktails and beer
Beer limited on tap 4choice Space is good to try
Good for groups
Friendly staff and when we went everyone were friendly including customers
Missing
List of games a checklist for one to tick so we don't miss any games
D. W.
It’s pretty cool with all the old school games. Booths setup with a N64 that you can play at no cost. Arcades are most $1 & $2 a game. Great place to just hang out.
Only downside is that it quite small & can get really crowded during peak times.
R. H.
Exactly what it says on the sign, an arcade bar. Perfect for a night out on your own or with a group of mates. Hosts a great assortment of machines including pinball, racing, fighting and light guns, as well as several free N64's and SNES's setup with Mario Kart and Smash. The cocktails are delicious and the nachos are the perfect snack to keep you going, this place has everything you'd ever need.
P. W.
A pretty cool bar packed with retro games. Quite a few unique and interesting drinks. Is a fun place to sink a few drinks and play a few games with mates. Not the kind of place to go to if your looking to sit down and have a chat with friends.
A. H.
Fun bar with retro games and gaming-inspired cocktails. Friendly place to while away some hours for the nerd crowd. Careful not to spend too much on those arcade machines while wasted.
M. P.
One of my favourite places to go in Melbourne. Great vibe, great staff, great drinks (and at affordable prices) and such a great concept. So many classic games that it's practically impossible not to have fun. Would 100% recommend.
F. M.
Fun Ambiance and retro vibe. Nintendo 64 consoles hit that nostalgia hard.
Decent drinks too.
D. G.
This place was so cool and fun! I went with two friends and we had such a great time playing the arcade games and having a drink! It's a pretty small place but we all really loved the vibe and want to go back soon! There were lots of cosy corners to hang out in groups as well as an outdoors area for those who like to smoke.
Some food options like nachos, but we didn't eat anything so couldn't say how the food was!
T. “. B.
I love this bar.
A great place for drinks, a nice smoking garden out back, loads of classic games and old consoles available to play for free. However it's often very very busy, so I'd recommend sending somebody there early.
M. S.
One of my favourite bars in Melbourne. Great atmosphere. Very accessible even if you're not a huge nerd. Of course the retro games are an attraction, but I've been here on a few occasions and haven't played any due to just enjoying chatting with friends.
Every staff member is nice. Lots of different beers available on tap, as well as a huge selection in the fridges. The moonshine is great, and I haven't found it anywhere else.
A.
Honestly the best bar ive been to, the owner was super nice to me last nice and an absolute mate making sure I was having fun before anything else
N. s.
Love the new layout. Greater variety of games in there now. Talking with the GM Aaron Egan and he took some time to walk me through a bunch of the older consoles. Ended up playing a couple rounds for Halo 1. AWESOME night out.
J. S.
It's easy to book if you have an event on. The booths are comfy and the games are old school. The bar is great and not expensive with a yummy selection of tap beers. You can use eftpos there. I think there's also an elevator and you could possibly manage to sit on the end of a table with a wheelchair and still play.
M. L.
Slightly crowded on Thursday Night, but still had a welcoming atmosphere. The bar staff were all friendly and well mannered, and when asked what their recommendation for a drink were be, they were quick to respond with a selection of their preferences, as well as a solid knowledge behind each drink.
The games themselves were all nostalgic and definitely reminded me of my childhood! Being around patrons that enjoyed the same video games as myself was a unique experience.
Bartronica is one of my favourite places in Melbourne, and one I would recommend to both the locals and tourists; a must see!
I. G.
This place is a must visit if you love gaming! There's always a decent crowd and even if you don't want to pay a few extra dollars for one of the arcade machines, you can jump on the old consoles for a games of Mario Kart! They have a good selection of craft beer and an excellent cocktail list. The staff are always super friendly too! It's a must visit if we're ever in Melbourne.
J. G.
Thanks, team for being such good customer service!!!
B. L.
Nice place to hang out after hours and during evening. A soothing feeling is created by the dark atmosphere of the place. While the drinks could slightly cheaper and all seating is well, I wished they will take at least a few minutes to sanitize & clean the game machines as some of them were a bit mucky in appearance especially driving games as the controls get touched by people repeatedly.
B. W.
Great atmosphere & even greater games ♡
Can't wait to come back. Such a great night. So much fun.
Was really packed but still had a great time. Everyone was really nice & polite bumpin around each other haha. I made a few new friends while being there with my friends. Bar staff are so friendly & awesome.
That Simpsons game made my night ♡
The bathrooms were really clean.
F. x.
I love, LOVE this bar. Please never close like the arcades of the 80's/90's that never had beer. As long as you are open I will drag people here (not that anyone really needs much convincing at all tbh). What a place to live out your dreams of drinking with good friends whole gaming the night away. 10/10 would challenge you at Mortal Kombat again
M. R.
Great trip down memory lane. Pretty cool bar and lots of fun.
J. B.
Awesome venue full of old school arcade machines and video game consoles set up with couches to play with friends. They have everything from N64 mario kart, Time Crisis and Daytona! Drinks can be a little pricey though...
A. P.
It's fine, nice music, stranger things vibe, drinks are steep, crowd is okay.
J. K.
One of my favourite bars in Melbourne. Offers something different with a variety of arcade games ! Also nice & friendly bar staff. Lovely girl from England looked after us all night - thanks Georgia.
K. D.
Drinks list is decent with a few good happy hour specials. The only constructive feedback I have would be to reduce the price of the arcade games and I think many people would be happy to spend longer drinking and have a more fun time doing so. (and spend more money...)
A. F.
Great concept! Loved the theme! Selection of games is great. Staff was pleasant, but customers were a bit rude. It's very cramped, so guard your drink as people seem unconcerned about knocking then over.
S. C. R.
Fun underground bar with heaps of retro video games and themed cocktails. Outside smoking area, booths with N64's and SNES games, get in early otherwise you'll be waiting in line! At the bar, ask for Josh ;)
J. C.
Very cool place, chill amount of people there, with free to play consoles and cheep machines! Btw the Daytona Cabinets are in Ace shape too. Great thing is one pair has force feedback while the other pair does not! lets you chose if you want that or not 😉
B. M.
Went here on a Saturday night and the bouncer decided to pick on one member of our party. He had only had a few drinks but was told he was too drunk to have anymore. That aside the bar concept is interesting but oddly implemented. The mix of paid and free to play means it can be hard to get some time on the more familiar games or very expensive. However, if you like people watching this place is a gold mine.
T. S.
Very lively place to enjoy amazing games₩!
J. E.
A secret Arcade Bar on Flinders Lane, very cool! Large place with an extensive selection of Arcade Games and Pinball Machines from all eras. Impressive cocktail and spirit selection too. The beer garden is handy for after work drinks and we love the Mario Kart booth!
W. T.
What an awesome little venue. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout the night. Great selection of classic video games from time crisis and point blank through to donkey Kong and mrs pacman.
Thoroughly enjoyed myself, and even managed to get on a few leaderboards
A. W.
This bar is a hidden gem! Once you find the bar, it has so many cool features. It has a massive selection of games - arcades, pinballs and consoles. The beer garden was a added bonus and there is a pleasing drink selection.
P. C.
Old school arcades, pinball, alcohol and vintage consoles. What else could a man want? A real neat bar to hang out with your friends and have a good time feeding the TMNT machine all your coins so you can beat the final part of the shredder fight. Also they sell apparel so help out ya Bois and buy a hat or shirt. Highly recommend this place if you haven't checked it out already.
J. C.
Very packed when we were there but a great place. Drinks are more on the expensive side but very reasonable. Good selection of arcade and early video games. Good prices on the games and slot of multiplayer options. Nice outdoor area.
K. R.
A fun little bar to go to with friends. Loved playing the old video games! Which there was better seating for larger groups and better drink specials but those are minor gripes. The staff are always super lovely!
J. '. D.
Popped in for a quick drink before dinner on a date. Bartender was very nice and helpful in choosing a beer, gave me a taste test of the IPA that I was unsure about which is always greatly appreciated. The draught on tap is tasty and refreshing. The N64s are free to play, it wasn't too busy at 7pm so no waiting to play a quick Mario Kart Cup. Car racing was good. Big Buck Hunter worked perfectly.
Would definitely return again for a beer and play when I'm in the area with a bit of time to kill.
M. D.
Really cool bar, good selection of drinks and a great dingy retro atmosphere. In a good way. Pinball machines, video games, consoles top it all off. Great for meetups with friends. I even got to meet Tom Merritt from the Daily Tech News Show (DTNS) and Current Geek podcast.
M. K.
It is a nice bar to have a few drinks at and play some arcade games.
There isn't the biggest selection.
M. B.
What a cool place, you can enjoy the retro feel of an old pinball arcade with the social option of retro games consoles and even antique games. This bar is a favourite of local office workers on a Friday night to unwind into the weekend.
J. L.
Three things I like about Bartronica:
1.They’ve recently started serving their own styles of craft beer, which are top notch.
2. Decent cocktail selection.
3. Classic arcade and video games in good working order!
K. M.
Was really looking forward to checking this place out, and it was generally a good atmosphere but the bar service took a really long time (but not sure if they were short staffed and/or cutting back costs due to covid) but on top of that one of the bar staff was ridiculously rude so that wasn’t great.
D. B.
Really Cool gaming bar 👍
A. M.
Had a great night there but they need to fix their Golden Axe machine... Was hoping to play it.. Maybe next time
S. 2.
Staff was nice but seems under staffed and slow. Arcade/pinball is fun but console seem to always be taken. The "bar garden" is quite narrow seems like an odd but necessary choice cause you really need that airflow.
Has a more day bar vibe.
N. S.
We were wanting to try this place for a while and I can say we were a little disappointed. The place was smaller than anticipated and very squishy. The machines were Ok but they are definitely lacking some more classic pinball machines. It's worth a visit but don't expect to spend more than an hour or so there.
K. D.
Would’ve loved to see a menu but it’s a decent place to visit if vintage arcade games are you thing.
G. I.
The theme here is for retro arcade gaming, for people who are old enough to remember the games [and hence, old enough to drink]. A lot of pinball machines and stand-alone, coin-operated arcade stalls are here. The major attraction whenever I'm here though tends to be the free, multi-player consoles. Tournaments on Mario Kart 64 are regularly hosted here, as well as single mingle nights.
The bar food is pretty basic, but the drink selection is moderately expansive. There is a good selection of beer and wine, and flavoured "moonshine". They've also custom-designed shots and cocktails, with video game themes. For example, try the Koopa Troopa, or the Time Traveller.
Tourists from nearby backpacker hostels find themselves here by accident, alongside locals in the know. The atmosphere is better than most bars for meeting new people, because you can watch them play and then challenge them if they win.
A. C.
Pub Vintage Videogame hall with free consolle tables and 1 dollar vintage cabinets. Good selection of beers, snacks & spirits. A lovely hug for my nerdy soul
L. B.
Came here after a bucks night dinner. We played some rad arcade games we grew up on it was an awesome time!!!! Although there was a fight in the entry, my friend and a random guy tried to break it up and they convinced the two fighters to go outside. The manager would not let my mate or the random guy (who stopped a fight from ruining his bar) back in the bar.
Great job mate, kick two people who prevented your place getting trashed in a brawl.
L. F.
A very fun hidden little bar, and being a '90's kid' I absolutely love this place, would recommend to go with a couple of friends, jump in one of the booths and play some 'Smash Bros' with a couple of (well priced) drinkees. GAME ON!
A. R. (.
If you love old school arcade games and beer, then this is the place for you. Not a big food
variety, however I’m sure it’ll improve over time. Whoever thought of this place is a genius!
R. W.
Can't recommend Bartronica enough! Great atmosphere, great drinks! There's something special about finishing a work day and then beating your colleagues in Mario Kart on the N64.
J. G.
Cool bar filled with arcade machines (you will need coins but there are change machines) and game consoles (use is FREE!). Goldeneye 007, Mario Kart (64 & SNES), and much more nostalgia abounds.
Drinks are a little pricey but on par for the city and the outdoor area closes a bit too early but overall a good experience especially for gamer nuts.
There is also a private area that can be booked for groups.
E. M.
Josh was an awesome guy! really helpful with picking out our cocktails and suggested another great place to visit afterwards. his art is also amazing!!
I. K.
Just a great fun little bar with really tasty craft beer on tap. No food (which was mildly disappointing), but I got to play Golden Axe (badly), 1942 (badly), MarioKart 64 (well) & get the highest score on Ms. Pacman (which was extremely satisfying).
All-round win I say.
J. T.
Amazing atmosphere, great selection of games and friendly bar staff 🙏🏻
S. M.
Attended an event here whilst down in Melbourne for PAX Australia and loved the experience! Has an amazing nolstsgic vibe with a huge variety of retro games from classic arcade machines to set up consoles to play as a group.
Great bar atmosphere with friendly bar staff. Venue can feel a bit packed when bigger events are held such as PAX due to how the space is set up with a ton of arcades and is a smash hit with the gamer community, but holds itself as one of the best picks to meet up with friends, have a drink and play some games if your in the Melbourne area!
T. L.
Great find! Unique bar with old school video games. Plenty to keep everyone entertained while enjoying a drink
W.
Good selection of games and drinks, staff were super friendly!
Z. C.
You can play n64 and get smorshed, also they sell nachos. Pretty standard pricing on consumables, numerous arcade machines as well. Not a bad way to spend a night, could use more seating.
K. P.
Good cocktails and they have Tekken AND Time Crisis so you can't really complain. If you don't like it here you're not a real gamer.
B. H.
Decent place that deserves full credit for what it's achieved, but could amazing if the owners take it up a notch.
The beer selection is great and it's nice to be able to buy some food.
There's an outdoor area which is good if you have smoker friends.
Some of the games could do with some regular maintenance due to being beaten up over time - especially when you're paying to use them.
I would also really like to see some better video monitors or connections going on (composite into a cheap screen looks terrible).
As opposed to getting proper CRT monitors, Some XRGB minis/cheap hdmi scalers and RGB mods would go a long way to improving the quality and playability of the consoles which is what I'd expect to see in a place appealing to retro gamers and console fans. (c'mon guys!)
Diversifying of the range from just nintendo and sega would be welcome and a few more things to play wouldn't go astray as there seems to be a bit of wasted space about.
The screens that are placed way up high near the ceiling are frustrating and a few more spots to put a glass down would be nice.
The place can be a little bit sterile and cold sometimes, or loud and blarey when there's heaps of people packed in there (at least it gets a good crowd), so I feel something could be done to warm up the vibe a little bit or acoustically treat the noise.
Feels like you need to hear more of the sound from the arcade machines sometimes.
Speaking of which, some of the games seem to be set to quite a high difficulty, but I get that money has to be made and there has to be rotation of players.
I really want to like this place and rave to people about it, but every time we go we end up having a conversation how it could be better.
At present it feels very much like a bar with some retro stuff tacked on, where it should really be an awesome trip into nostalgia with the added benefits of alcohol.
C. T.
Had my partner's birthday at Bartronica and it was a great night. Drinks to cater for everyone's taste, snacks, retro pinball and arcade games, open late. Great stop for a quick drink or a longer event.
R. D.
Me and some friends booked a booth for the night, ended up in the wrong one, but it was a crazy night so we all just let it slide and had fun.
Good selection of games, we had a really good night.
Staff were amazing.
H. B.
such good fun, so much nostalgia with all of the old arcades. all you need is a few friends or even just a fun date, and your night is set. cocktails are fun too
K. L.
I love this bar. The new layout is great with private booths and curtains. The staff are always friendly and the gaming choices are second to none. Highly recommend!
C. S.
Whilst the theme is something that people might be interested in, the place lacks execution. Some of the crowd that is attracted can be off-putting for most casual visitors.
The garden is nice, however the sheer number of smokers makes it unbearable for those who only want to drink and have some fresh air.
B. H.
Awesome little bar with a great range of beers, cocktails and good music (as well as the games of course). The bartenders are super friendly and great at recommending the right drink - especially Thomas, always has good chat!
J. S.
Really good little hidden away bar in Melbourne. They have a lot of different video games to play along with arcade machines and pinball. There is a smokers area out back.
J. S.
Awesome bar for small or large groups. Great drinks. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Loved reliving the old school 90s arcade games and consoles.
D. M.
Some good nostalgia of playing N64 all the whilst grabbing beers W your mates. Pretty great if you ask me. Honorable mentions: arcade games time crisis 2, point blank, Tekken 2, and many pinball machines
P. M.
Fantastic selection of 80s and 90s games which are rotated out mixed with a nice atmosphere. Marked down for the beers on draft, which are generally disappointing (bring on the hops!).
L. N.
The shooters tasted awesome (especially the coffee based one) and nothing beats playing video games while having a few drinks. Dan was a fantastic bartender! Absolute legend!
M. M.
Awesome place to get a drink and play some games. Very groovy decor and outgoing staff. Cocktails were a hit and a miss with our group.
M. T.
Great bar great atmposhere and game selection. There was a bartender named josh with a wicked warhawk who is the absolute bomb! Best bartender you could ask for! Made our experice so entertaining and pleasant.
P. M.
Fun arcade bar! Lots of arcades and classic Nintendo games. Fair prices and friendly staff. A must do for the gamer visiting Melbourne!
L. K.
If you like old arcade games this is the place! Got some drinks and sat down playing Mariocart with some strangers, what's a better way to spend your night? Beer isn't the best but I think this is more a place to spend time with people than actually getting drunk
J. D.
Love this place, great games and good priced beers. They have also added way more machines since last time I came and damn, the ghostbusters pinball is great!
c. b.
Great vibes, wonderful service. They had both amazing things to do and we're very covid conscious and I felt safe
K. B.
Pretty cool little bar. Been wanting to go for a long while and finally got the oppurtunity the other week to check it out. Not the biggest venue but I think they've done alright with the space they have to work with. Can't get enough of retro arcades!
S. G.
Great selection of old school arcade games matched by the great selection of beers to choose from. Good fun getting stuck into a couple of nostalgic head to head Nintendo battles over a few drinks and bar snacks.
J. E.
Very unique and fun bar. Heaps of coin operated classic video games and pinball machines. Also has Nintendo consoles for group play. Convenient change machines on-site.
S. G.
Awesome retro gaming bar with all sorts of classic arcade games. Strongly recommend if a night of drinking while playing pinball or time crisis sounds like your kinda night out.
J. G.
Definitely alternative. Relaxed vibe. Mario Kart on N64 combined with beers makes you feel like you are nicely relaxed on couch at home.
Lacked mobile reception inside. So could pose a issue for coordinating meeting people.
R. E.
Great fun bar! The drinks were delicious and the staff were very helpful! Would definitely recommend checking this place out!
H. C.
Had a really good time here on Sunday night and lost terribly at pinball. The drinks were good and the guy at the bar, I think his name was Zac, was really lovely and we had a nice chat about gin and vodka. An all round good experience :)
B. P.
Awesome selection of arcade machines, pinballs, retro consoles, beer, snacks and some cool cocktails too. High recommended for any old school gamer or for those interested in somewhere different for a few drinks
C. A.
Great bar and awesome atmosphere! I would highly recommend putting this on your list to visit! Staff are super friendly and helpful, shout out to Aaron who served me, he went above and beyond! Wont be my last visit! Thank you!
P. L.
Great place to hang out, play some games, and have some drinks. It could benefit from leaning into the divey element of the venue a little more, it currently seems stuck between being a nice place for cocktails and snacks, and a place where you can punch frothys and feed coins into a machine all night.
J. M.
Went here as part of a scavenger hunt for a friend's birthday, and the bar staff were in on it. They even gave the birthday boy a free shot. The games here are classics and they have a great pinball range.
J. A.
We just finished up our second Christmas Party for my workplace at Bartronica and the team assisted in every way possible in making these last 2 party's the best ever. The venue supported our large number of 150+ with a chilled vibe and the best drinks in Melbourne. Thank you Bartronica you really are the best.
B. V.
Awesome atmosphere and an extremely large selection of arcades. A must place to visit when in Melbourne if you're into video games and drinking.
G. P.
Awesome!!! Exceeded my expectations! So much fun. cocktails are amazing, staff are blissful. Made my first Melbourne experience that much better.
J. R.
Visited Bartronica after a really good time at Pinball Paradise. Brilliant environment for friends and families to visit, and are sure to have some form of pinball to meet your desires.
Would recommend to anyone.
C. D.
Great concept for a bar, fun arcade games but basic bar, go for a bit of fun, but not sure it'll take the whole night. Really nice to add something extra for a drink though :)
J. B.
Great bar, lots of the games are free. The paid games are very good too, will have something for everyone who enjoys arcades.
M. J.
Josh was fantastic!
Recommended a ton of games for us to try and went overtime to track down sonic 2 for us to play.
Wish we got this service anywhere else.
R. N.
Has a heap of potential. The stoned bartender with long hair obviously hates his job and that really takes away from the experience. If we went another day and the staff were cheerier it'd probably be 4 stars.
E. “. H.
Bartronica is a hidden gem in Melbourne. If you're nostalgic of the good old days where you had to go to your local arcade to play videogames, you'll love this place. From Golden Axe to Street Fighter, from Donkey Kong, to Daytona, you'll find plenty of arcade games to fulfill your desire to play. On top of that, you'll also be delighted to find consoles such as the SNES, the Megadrive (Mastersystem), the Gamecube, and the N64 to play your favourite games with your friends. You can even book the Mariokart (N64) booth privately!
There also are plenty of events happening there, from pop culture quiz on tuesday night (Rick & Morty, Harry Potter, Archer...) which are harder than you think ($15 entry, which includes a pint of your choice), to game tournaments, you'll always find something to play.
The beers are really good, and so are the cocktails. Happy hour every week day from opening till 6.30 ($7 pints, hard to beat!). The patrons and bartenders are extremely friendly and chatty, so don't hesitate to talk about your favourite game with them!
It's probably one of the first place I bring newcomers in Melbourne to, would recommend !
S. M.
Absolutely fabulous experience had at Batronica! A super friendly and awesome atmosphere. I went as a group and had the pleasure of being served by Georgia who was phenomenal! A super friendly, down-to-earth girl (with an english accent!). Thanks Georgia- you are one of the main reasons we, as a group would want to come back to Batronica :)
E. M.
Love this spot. Friendly service, good range of drinks I only wish there were more games. Point Blanc and Time Crisis 1 & 2 are my favs. I'll definitely stop in again.
R. F.
Great place to grab a beer and hang with mates, playing a few retro arcade games is an extra bonus. Super friendly staff, Dan in particular is a stand out
G. C.
Very enjoyable place! Good game choices. Good smoking area. Missing a star due to input lag for their main screen for Mario kart
T. E.
I love these places, and I am so happy other people do too, since they wouldn't be here without the dedicated souls who put all their time and effort into restoring these old consoles. Combine with beer and loud synth pop and you have got a win!
E. C.
Awesome bar! so much fun! I would give it 5 stars but the cocktails were horrible at over $20 a drink it was like cordial it was really disappointing but all the drinks were fine
E. J.
I went on a Tuesday night so it wasn't busy but I still had to wait longer than I'd expect for a drink. Because it wasn't busy I enjoyed the variety of games and consoles it was all a lot of fun. I'll go back here.
B. T.
Very cool bar. Would have rated it a 5 if it wasn't for the abysmal service. There place was pretty busy and they had 2 people on the bar. 1 of which had to collect the empties. Had one drink, a few games and left.
D. W.
A fun bar with retro arcade machines lining the walls. A handy change machine converts your notes to $1 coins for the arcade machines, and there are free console games like Mario Kart scattered throughout as well.
G. P.
Always love heading down to Bartronica with some mates for a drink and a few games. Great selection and games are very well maintained. Awesome selection of beers too.. Highly recommend.
P.
Great place too stop for a drink, friendly staff and a fun environment.
Plenty of classic acrade style machienes aswell as classic console booths regularly featuring crash team racing, mario kart, golden eye and heaps more!
We definatley recommend groups
J. W.
So unique and so fun! Most games for free! Great to have a few bevies and play some old skool games! Loved it
M. L.
I have two sons. Jake is very into them video games so he dragged me out of the house to this trendy bar. I myself, as a single mother, am open to the concept of video games. My other son Jeffers however is not so open and Jake dragged him along too (lol). All was good until Jeffers cracked the sads and threw himself into the junkyard pinball machine setting off a domino-like chain reaction knocking over almost everything in sight. Arcade machines where crashing everywhere. Drinks were smashing, women were screaming and children were crying. Jeffers said that this actually improved the vibe of the place but as a proud mother I disagree with him. We ended up leaving the place with $65,000 worth of damages. All in all it was a good night out though. 5 stars, would go there again if I was allowed back in.
A. V.
The reno is great, allows for all pinballs to come together. What's the same? Great local beer and a team that look after everyone!... A few months later I've realised they have an amazing selection of four pillers gin. Also, they split the pinballs up but it works.
S. W.
Small selection of games, most of them cost 1 or 2 dollars each, Kind of expensive.
Good drinks selection. Nice chilled lighting clean and Tidy.
G.
Cool pub, something different to experience. My only complaint is their policy of not taking refunds for the video game tokens is simply gouging.
M. M.
Great little tucked away bar with all the classic arcade games I grew up playing in bowling alleys when I was a kid.
Awesome bar with great bar snacks (loved the nachos)
A. M.
Arcade games and alcohol! What's not to like would be the question. We did not sample any of the eats but the staff handled the busy atmosphere well, the games work well and time just flies. It's one of those shut up and spend your money places - thankfully.
C. B.
Love this place! Drinks are awesome. After 30 years, still knew all the Super Mario Bros cheats. How does that happen? Lol
M.
Pros: nice atmosphere, free console games, friendly staff, gaming themed drinks
Cons: broken/faulty games, closed smoking area too early leaving house of the dead unavailable to play
- donkey Kong jump button faulty
- playstation out of order
- big buck out of order
- SF alpha screen faulty
- daytona out of order
- NBA jam is priced incorrectly (8 tokens for a full game?)
S. K.
Love this place, amazing service, awesome venue and brilliant vibe. Would highly recommend
J. R.
I'm going to assume it's only 4.4 stars due to only being open till 1am. Apart from that should be 4.9. The only issue I have is space. I love the place and will still come back again.
j. r.
ABSOLUTE MAD PLACE!! Legend of a bar tenter Dan! Dan the Man!! Loved the night, the service and absolutally decked out in video games! Coolest place ever, awesome shooters! Definately coming back soon!!
S. T.
Loved the vibe and how lowkey this place is im about it the games are dope and take you back to the 90's loveeee
T. W.
Cute underground bar with lots of old school arcade. Brings back childhood memories. Highly recommend to bring your mates along to have some old school fun!
M. J.
Best bar. Played all the old childhood faves and had some mad cocktails thanks to the suggestion of Josh, the bartender. Thanks for a great night out to all involved.
M.
Best bar I've been too! Super nostalgic and Josh the bartender was super friendly and makes sure your night is perfect!
L. F.
Great place to hang out with mates! Amazing old school console's, arcades and pinballs! Brings back great memories of N64 Mario Kart and Goldeneye marathons! Awesome Bar amd friendly service!
K. M.
My boyfriend and I just discovered this place and we love it, is pretty cool. We love playing Mario Kart or 007 in the Nintendo 64!
B. M.
Yaknow, it's an awesome concept, but unless you book a table it's just a bar with some old coin arcade machines.
Not designed terribly well either, only takes a few people getting drinks for this place to be cramped.
K. M.
I like the idea but I think the execution is a little poor. I expected a little more nostalgia than what was delivered and some of the games are a bit rundown. The prices have increased too! A common problem is nowhere to put your drink when playing games
D.
Good blend of geek culture and social drinking. Music is at just the right volume and it's worth a visit whether it be just a pit stop or somewhere you want to settle in at.
m. t.
Great vibe, awesome staff that not only know their drinks but their games too! Awesome community feel from the regulars who attend, one of which will most likely be me in the near future.
T. C.
I'd live here if I could, so many memories brought back by the games there. Bonus - there's a pretty decent cocktail list and Dan was an absolute trooper of a barman.
A. D.
Not as good I'd been told. But I still had a good time. The place really needs to be bigger, playing games down near the toilets is a bit average!
Overall, a good time.
P. L.
Happy to find a bar that has Conkers Bad Fur Day! Also some great cocktails made by Rory, I plan on coming back soon!
J. M.
Very cool venue with a great selection of classic games. Would like to see a couple of more modern games too but awesome spot great decor and beers.
T. T.
It's got most of what you'd want out of a barcade, I personally found the lack of shoot em ups to be a bit disappointing. Having said that, it's well set up and the booth/console set up is a great idea.
L. H.
Fantastic spot. Good beer, and a great range of games from consoles to old arcades and pinball! Takes me back to my student days...
J. M.
A nice little basement drinker, with a reasonable drinks selection. On a busy night some of the games need a bit of love to keep them running. Could do with some more consoles, and places to play them.
C. Z.
I like the new renovations but some areas are quite cramped. Also ive mentioned this several times but half of the buttons on Marvel v Capcom still don't work. Am tired of asking for my money back.. fix your machines!
A. M.
Love this place! Really good mix of games. Only bad comment is that some of the machines get a bit wonky sometimes. But they give you free credit in return.
A. I.
Great bar with a range of consoles and some pinnies. If you recall the joy of playing Golden eye on the couch with some friends throwing back beers, you're in for a good time.
D. C.
Great fun for all ages! (not kids) great staff, good laugh and games to play - could repair some of their racing arcades. Point blanc is where it's at.
S. R.
Great place. Awesome staff. Best night out in a long time.
D.
Awesome place. Old school arcade hall with a great bar and themed cocktails.
J. P.
Great to have somewhere to re-live your childhood games however there isn't much seating available so if you have people sitting down and not playing on the consoles around that seating area, it's a bit of a waste
D. H.
Super cool bar with a unique theme I like the arcade games alot. Also the service doesn't disappoint! Thanks Georgia!!
A. P.
It was a great atmosphere also the old skool games was a good selection. Awesome experience for a date night will visit again soon. 😊
A. N.
Where else but your lounge room can you have beers and competetive Mario Kart! Gamer crowd is the best ever
L. W.
Excellent service. Very friendly staff. Always have a fun time here. Had two of my birthday drinks here. Food selection is limited here but drinks are decent
A. G.
Great place for after work drinks or even a night out with the whole team. Shout out to Josh for being a legend on all the cocktails and handling the rest of the bar by himself the whole night, killed it.
J. D.
Great place and atmosphere with really friendly staff.
Very entertaining and retro games.
Only gripe was the pinball was quite loud.
R. T.
Lots of great games and happy hour specials. Super friendly staff and great tap beer. Lots of fun.
S. M.
Too much fun, I think I got carpal tunnel playing street fighter vs Capcom! Special mention to Stephanie behind the bar who was a master mixer and a 10/10 customer service badass
L. W.
Had such a fun time!! A really amazing place and Georgia really made our experience and went the extra mile for us. Would definitely recommend.
Y. W.
Great place to kick back and have a good time, music isn't too loud so you can actually have a conversation for once. The games are great!
M. R.
Absolutely fantastic atmosphere, great range of neat retro games and delicious themed drinks (also they sell a great alcoholic ginger beer).
W. H.
Amazing retro bar. Old school game consoles and arcade games everywhere. Affordable drinks and a reasonable selection of cocktails and craft beer.
A. T.
What an amazing fun night out.
A plast from the past. All your favourites in one place .Want a bite to eat or a drink chill they have you covered. When in Melbourne a must go to.
🍿🍻🍸🍹🍺🍟🍔📍🕹🎮
A. J.
Awesome place but they need to either fix the screen ratios of their retro consoles to 4:3 and use s-video/component cables so it doesn't look like a potato, or just get CRT TV's for them all.
A. H.
Long wait to use the consoles and machines most nights and people seem to gather around the pinball tables making it awkward to get to them.
On the other hand the barstaff are friendly and the beer is cold.
T. W.
Great place to kick off an evening with reasonably-priced drinks and awesome arcade games. You will need coins if you want to play!
C. S. (.
All the games were so entertaining, staff were very friendly and the bar served great beers! I visited on a Saturday and the atmosphere was awesome.
J. L.
Isaac, Corey, Tessa and Barry you rock!!
Love the tunes?!
(That's livin' Barry!!)
H. H.
My friend and I came for our first time and Josh helped us navigate around the venue. He also recommended a good drink, was super friendly and helpful.
E. A.
Great place to get ur drink and retro game on. Gets very crowded but thats to be expected its a retro gamers heaven and there is a smoking area.
L. R.
Beer prices are high and not much on freeplay but excellent quality cabinets. I suspect the booths would be great for a party night.
J. P.
Great selection of old arcade cabinets and nice atmosphere. Ice-Cold Beer is a must play game while you're there.
J. N.
Awesome venue. Great range of games. Shout out to Dan for his excellent service. Will be back again soon!
R. C.
The novelty and atmosphere are great but most of the arcades and controllers have buttons not working or dodgy joysticks which detracts from the experience.
D. K.
As someone that played arcade games in 80s and 90s the nostalgia was amazing. Sad a few of my favs not there - but there is room for a couple of table tops outside :)
C. T.
Great bar, amazing atmosphere, love the concept! Stephanie, the French bartender there, was super friendly and helpful. Definitely going back!
S. B.
Love the beer garden and the murals! Also big thanks to Rory for looking after me and my friends while we were there
Y. L.
They have House of the Dead 1, automatic 5 stars.
M. R.
Lotta people, very cramped
Had 2 bad dudez, they were cool.
I. W.
great ploice with great goimes and great cocktoils!!! Steph my bar tender was amazing and made the experience super duper and I will definitely be coming back again :)
L. J.
Great drinks and great games. Josh was really welcoming and had lots of good recommendations :)
S. B.
We had a fun time at Bartronica. We played pinball and some consoles. It was a friendly vibe down there and we spent about an hour here
P. J.
Good drinks and good vibes! Grest spot to stop in for a few bevs and some gaming while you’re at it.
Marco the bartender was a lord, thanks legends 😎😎
N. B.
Good fun, lots of classic arcade machines although has gotten quite a bit busier over the past half-year or so
B. T.
Interesting beers. Great arcades, friendly staff. Little busy on weekends but to be expected.
T. M.
Loved the drinks and nachos! Really cool set up with some great arcade games
T. P.
Great awesome bar. If you grew up with Nintendo you'll love it. If you grew up with Sega, well it's missing alot.
J. M.
Bartender Josh looked after us and made the best cocktail I have had in ages. Would 100% recommend
C. R.
Great bar and beers , awesome idea tho some pins and arcades had playing glitches...
All over great fun
P. O.
Love this place, one of the best bars in Melbourne, I love the arcade and pinball machines, and also the beers are sooooo good definitely will come back 🍺🍺🍺🍻🍻👌👌👌
F. &. E.
Decent beers and tunes with old school games that make you enjoy not having homework or chores, in a nutshell great Mario kart and Goldeneye battle arenas with booze
A. B.
This place is shangri-la for retrogamers. The place is full of classic arcade games (did someone say Golden Axe?) and fully licensed. Timezone eat your heart out!
S. T.
An interesting bar. Great varieties of beer. Having the opportunity to play some retro games is a plus too.
M. P.
Really nice atmosphere, great for those that love older consoles and arcade games, good priced drinks too.
J. M.
Great place to hang out and play some arcade games. Bit on the hard side to get a booth however.
D. D.
Great variety of games, friendly staff, lighting inside very 80s one of my favourite places to chill.
J. P.
Great evening here, had a killer “Ice Cold Beer” from Joshua.
Excellent spot to play time crisis with a tinder date.
E. G.
They added more machines since I've been here last. Ale $10 a pint. Not much room when busy and being a dive, it gets rather hot and stuffy when busy.
J. S.
Great drinks, yummy nachos, but it was a bit smelly because of the cigarettes. Get rid of the smoking section!!! It will be much better
R. K.
Good vibes and selection of arcade machines and retro consoles but limited food selection. does allow outside food to be brought in, however.
R. T.
Huge selection of arcade games, has money changer to get coins to play. Spacious smoking area and good selection of alcohol
D. S.
Very pricey, but good selection of games and drinks. I'd prefer if there was a cover charge and all games were free.
J. R.
What a find old school clsssic games and reasonably priced pints. This could be considered a part of heaven! They defo need double drsgon but loved getting back on golden axe.
F. M.
Great bar, great bartenders, awesome games. This is a really fun spot. Love it every time.
P.
Amazing. Best night, great booth.. Only negatives.. Too hot as it's a basement.. Air conditioning would be mad
Also mobile phone reception is poor.
S. W.
Had a ball last night in Bartronica! Great drinks and got into a good chat with the barman about video games, cheers Rory!
P. P. C.
Wow, what an awesome old style arcade, and a bar and pinball machines!! Even Addams Family pinball!! - need to turn down the difficulty on Donkey Kong though! :-)
D. P.
Fun bar to grab a couple drinks after work. Good crowd and decent selection of beer.
c. c.
Awesome fun, hidden in the city, less pin all tables than it's sister in ball paradise but awesome staff and v friendly atmosphere.
M. B.
