A genuine surprise packet. Exceptional service and outstanding dishes with a beautifully curated list of options to match the gargantuan selection of vino available next door at one of Australia’s leading fine wine teams. Fabulous family lunch. Great that you can buy wine in the wine bar and drink it with the meal. We shared sardines, anchovies and cured salmon and spanner crab spaghettini. Delicious. Highly recommended.

One of my favorite local restaurants in South Melbourne! Visit this little germ in south Melbourne at least once a month- Great Food, awesome selection of wines (You also have the option to pick or select your wines from Prince Wine Store) & amazing atmosphere!

Unfortunately at the end of the dining experience we were asked to vacate our seats as the other couple had arrived for their booking. In a restaurant that had plenty of availability to seat multiple parties at that time, our drinks that we were finishing were removed from the table as we were being informed of this information. Leaves a really bad impression and we won't be returning. Just generally poor hospitality at a venue that really should understand etiquette. Other than that it was plain sailing and great wine.

This wine bar has a nice vibe to it and the wines on offer are amazing. The other half has been here for meals over official meetings (they have a private room that can seat 20 people)and he cannot stop raving about it, especially the stake. Attendants are knowledgeable and courteous. Little on the expensive side, they have some nice affordable wines but worth taking your chances.

Good food amazing wines. As you expect form a place that launched Princes Wine Store. If you at like me you will spend more on wine then on the food so be warned! Not to say the food is poor, it’s quite good, it’s more a testimony to the quality of their wines!

Had a nice quiet night out. The wait time was surprisingly long and we were seated outside with no heating (it was getting a bit chilly) but despite that, the atmosphere was lovely, and the wait staff were really nice and accommodating (but as we were seated on the bench that was the furthest from the restaurant, it was hard for them to be particularly attentive). The food was very tasty (especially the spaghettini and the risotto) and the mocktails were nice. Overall it was a little overpriced but still nice - we will probably come back if we're heading this way again.

Had a lovely night with some great champagne, red wine, and a pedro to finish the night. The charcuterie was an amazing accompaniment. Fantastic service and recommendations. Plus sitting outside on a marvelous Melbourne evening just topped it off. Would recommend.

While I love this place and the food and wine is great. The cost for the cheese and charcuterie plates was pretty extortionate sadly :( help with wine was good, and it all tasted lovely, just really small and unexpected portions when you order a 5 piece cheese plate (the largest sold for $45) and it feeds less than 1 person (only 5 crackers!). Shame when I politely raised this, there was no care or concern. Just "oh, that's a shame", pretty sad

Would give 3.5 if I could. Good venue, nice setting, and above average food. But negatives were: 1. Very slow to serve initially 2. Limited wine list for a “ wine bar” 3. Extended wine list available at attached bottle shop next door but $15 per bottle corkage applies. This is a bit sneaky and you need to get up and sort the wine out yourself. For a wine bar that’s confusing. Definitely had a good time and would recommend but just be aware of the drink/wine issue.

Nov/2020 (post Dan's apocalypse) - with tables outside and great service, this place is a jewel in the crow. The fixed menu and the specials will guarantee two hours of flavours that will delight your taste buds. You can select great wines on the neighbour Prince Wine Store to match.

Why are you reading reviews of Bellota instead of just going there already? Great food, excellent staff and an AMAZING wine selection which is bolstered by the Prince wine store next door. Make sure you book and wear some stretchy pants because you'll want to eat EVERYTHING!

This is the restaurant that I went very often. They have the best Jamon and very good selection of wines, especially they collected some of the very rare wines with unique taste (not necessarily expensive ). If you are fussy about wines, it will be the right place to be. Fresh vegetables and food all the time, as I found that some of the restaurant may not use the fresh veg when they mix salad which always a disappointing point.

We were a large group of 12 for lunch and we each had an amazing meal. The Valrohna Chocolate Tarte was to die for. The 'Roma special' was supurb and the legendary veal schnitzel was a hit. The service was attentive but subtle and the wine list spoilt us for choice. It was my 3rd visit and I highly recommend it, as it never disappoints.
