Great place for groups particularly those celebrating birthdays with or without young kids as Boundary Hotel has great little indoor play centre for them. Food has to be ordered through their app which I hate particularly when you order items from entrees page and items from mains page and they bring everything out together. Why does every place where I have ordered through app do this? Why have entrees page if it doesn't mean food to be served before main meal? This is the 4th place where this has happened, yes 4th, I don't get it, does back of house think entrees and main mean same thing? Or what am I missing???? Coffees (soy latte, skinny mocha and flat whites) were good and kids loved their cokes. Kids had cheeseburger and mini steak while adults had fish 'n' chips, steak sandwich and vegetarian tacos. We also ordered dips and bread to share for starters, oops I mean as another main! Note the kids steak was full of gristle and fat and only half of it was edible. Kids had mini choc sundae and black forest cake for dessert. There is plenty of room here, plenty of parking and if you are so inclined plenty of opportunities to lose your money, in their gambling room next door. The Boundary Hotel is an institution and its great that over the years they have modernised their look and introduced more vegetarian options however their app ordering system, well you know what I think about that!

2nd time I've been here. The first time I came, I had the squid and I came back specifically for it. It's so rare at a pub to get thick, juicy and real squid! Plus it was soooo delicious. For main, I had the prosciutto wrapped chicken with pumpkin and goats cheese mousse which was a real winner. I had profiteroles and the sticky date and banana pudding for dessert. The pudding...amazing but the profiteroles were frozen in the middle. I wouldn't let that deter you though, everything else was so good. Will be back many times I'm sure!

Blown away!! I booked our work Christmas lunch there for Friday 19th Dec and everything was perfect. Had the whole corner bar room to ourselves, and also used the little beer garden off that. The food was next level, for a pub we were all so happy. Great selection of entrees and mains and it came out really quickly. Thank you so much - everyone is raving about the lunch! Highly recommend The Boundary Hotel!!! Will be booking for next year too!!

I had hot been to the boundary for at least 15 years. I was so pleasantly surprised. The fillet steak was just lovely and the accompanying veggies well cooked. Everything was really well presented and delicious. I will definitely be returning!!

We hired the sports bar and garden for a private event (1st birthday) and couldn't have been happier on the day! They have a great selection of platters and were very flexible with options for set-up and allowing us to bring kids' ride-ons and games for the garden. Jenny and Helene were easy to deal with and pricing was competitive. The space was lovely out under the trees on a hot day. Planning to have husband's next birthday here too!

Haven't been to a pub in almost 2yrs thanks to covid. But it was great, they have a kids playground which kept my 3yr old busy. Great staff, amazing food...I'll definitely be back! Thanks to the staff for providing such a relaxing and comfortable dinner

I hadn't been to the Boundry Hotel in years. It's great to see it's been nicely done up. The service is excellent and the staff had no problem moving us away from the kids area. The food was tasty and well cooked. A very pleasant evenings meal.

I had the child's ham & pineapple pizza and it was pathetic, just tomato sauce and hardly any ham or pineapple. It cannot be called a pizza and then charge $10. Some orders were not what people specified and the birthday cakes were never delivered to the table

Really nice pub / bar. Came on a Wednesday steak night ...$20porterhouse steak... hmmm it was good but I gave it three stars cus they didn't have dinner rolls .. plenty of butter and jam.. but no dinner rolls. I like my dinner rolls!!! Also the dude at bar didn't let me have a taste of a particularly beer I never tried. The side of chips I got was aged and soggy ... WIR?? Yeah will give it one more go..

Haven't been here for years! Great food, the lamb shoulder was like cutting through butter, it just melted away. Service was lovely, from the young girl who sat us down and ran through everything to Craig who served our drinks and meals with a smile. Our new local.

Highly recommend for a great event in the boundary function room. The food, drinks and music in the nice private indoor/outdoor space was fantastic. Ask for Helene at the venue for sensational service and organisation to arrange your booking. A big thanks to you Helene and also other staff (particularly Nicole) for the happy, attentive, professional service that made sure everyone had an awesome night. 10/10 I hope to be back for another function soon!

This was only my third visit to the Boundary Hotel. The first two were great, but this one not so good. Got served a tough piece of porterhouse steak with an overbaked crumbly potato. The menu listed coleslaw, however there would have been only a small spoonful. Then the really big blow - - - if there is one thing I really hate, it is canned fake whipped cream on a desert. Horrible evaporating tasteless stuff that does not compliment a desert. I would think any chef or cook would refuse to serve it up to a paying customer. But there it was, and it left both of us so very disappointed. Charge another 20c and serve up some real cream, please. Don't insult your customers with fake !! Apart from that, the venue is great and the service so attentive, and very friendly. I would go there again, but will avoid their deserts.

Good pub with your usual array of beverages and food. Sports bar is big with multiple big screens, pokie area and dedicated restaurant. Would be an extra star if they hadn't closed off the outdoor area so it was internal access only as you can't go out there when the bistro/restaurant are closed. Also limits the ability to have a sunny arvo drink with your furry companion. We are in Melbourne after all. Another star lost as staff are mostly good but there are a couple of people who clearly don't want to be there and sure as heck let you know it. Sorry for the great staff that aren't like that, you know who you are

We come here regularly but usually get counter meals in the bar, we decided to check out the bistro instead and we were very impressed! Staff were lovely, we were seated quickly. I had the lamb shanks- they were delicious! My husband had the rump steak & pork ribs- he loved it! We will definitely be back for a bistro meal soon.

We went on a busy Friday night. We ordered the chefs chicken kiev which unfortunately was over cooked and didn't have any sauce gushing out. The kids nuggets were tasty and cooked well. The service was great, the staff were lovely and really helpful. The kids even had a pirate to entertain them. So, despite the main meals not being nice, it was a fun night out.

Went there for a birthday. Friendly staff, clean rooms, clean toilets. Additionally, we celebrated our daughter's birthday there. The organisation was excellent! The facilities are great for children, the prices are competitive, and everything (food, drinks, decorations) was ready when we needed it. If you're looking for an indoor place for birthday parties for young children, I highly recommend this place.

Great service, meals came out fast ,beautiful meals especially the slow cooked beef pie. Coffee was great and Craig was very good saw that we needed extra room and asked if we would like to move to a bigger table . We did it was no trouble . Craig went over and above to make us welcome. We have been here a few times with friends from Bentleigh and we are from Warrnambool . We keep going back it’s great place clean with great staff. My family had Christmas lunch at the Boundary Hotel today and it was a very pleasant experience. The service was excellent and the whole day was very well organised. Staff were friendly and helpful. As for the meals the Eye Fillet main was exceptional and the Xmas Roast was spot on. My 11yo daughter was thrilled with the present she received on the day.

This is a pokies pub that caters for families. The only thing saving the pub was the indoor kids play ground, otherwise i would have deducted another star. I got a very ordinary veggie burger with cold chips . The burger patty appeared to be microwaved which had an overwhelming cinnamon flavour to it (weird), plus the cheese wasn’t melted. Prices were okay.

Parmalicious!! Went for their Monday parma night. They offer all the various toppings (7 or 8 varieties I think), they're really delicious and very generously portioned, especially for $12! Service was good, friendly and polite. Bistro furniture is modern and comfortable, and the dining room is pretty well appointed. We had a nice night.
