Wonderful Function Hosted a function on a Saturday afternoon at the Emerald a few months back for 35 persons. Jane & her team were spectacular in ensuring all guests were well fed, watered & most importantly felt valued & respected. Made myself as the organizer look great. The venue space was perfect. Finger foods tasty & fresh with a prompt & friendly bar service. A few of us enjoyed ourselves so much we stayed on for dinner as well. Would not hesitate to book again.

Our media and entertainment club meets here where the atmosphere is cheery and the service likewise. A good pub menu at reasonable prices (their salt and pepper calamari is a fave of mine). I've only been here with fifty odd people but I imagine the welcome is the same for all.

We just dropped on for a meal one night and they count have been more accommodating. Friendly polite staff and the meals were outstanding. Everyone of us enjoyed our choices from the menu. The wine and beer selection was also good. Highly recommended for great food and great service.

What a wonderful little gem. Front bar is old school beer drinkers, through to the fantastic restaurant, function area & beer garden out the back. Something for everyone.

Very friendly staff and nice, decent pub. Relaxed atmosphere and doesn't take itself too seriously. Good bar food with a very nice entirely separate Bistro area, with function facilities as well. Some tables outside which catches the sun perfectly and making the beer that much nicer. The place is bigger than you think. Good place if you enjoy sports. I've been here a few times on my visits and will go again next time I'm in the area.

A quick dinner with my lovely lady on a very warm day. New waitress being trained, she was great. Food was fantastic, tasty and well presented , beers and wine were cold. Only let down was lack of air conditioning in the indoor restaurant. We finished and left due to lack of air flow!! Will be back though!!

Just ok, not a huge selection of meals, but what was available was very good. The dining room is in desperate need of a renovation, I don’t think it’s changed for 20 years and it really shows. The wait staff were also very attentive and service was efficient.

The Emerald never disappoints, good wholesome pub grub at the most reasonable price. Ignore the TAB and focus on the lovely black and white framed racing photography on the walls recounting the long tradition of this place...and there is a fireplace!

This Pub was the best I have ever been to The Corned Beef and special sauce was Delicious Went with 8 friends ate in the restaurant then moved to the bar - Had the best time especially with Andrew the Bar manager We will all go back again soon Yeah Baby!!!!

My husband and I booked the court yard for our daughters 30th birthday on the 8th August 2015. From the moment we spoke to Jane regarding the booking we were made feel very welcomed and as if nothing was a problem. When we arrived at the court yard on the night we found it was beautifully set up for our 50 guest and very well heated. It had all the facilities that we might need there in the one area. We were told that Chris would look after us for the evening and that he did he couldn't have done more to make our night perfect. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was wonderful and served in a timely manner. All our guest were very impressed as were we. We are not locals and hadn't been to the Emerald before, it had been suggested by a friend who had been there a few years earlier. Thank you to Jane, Chris and all the staff at the Emerald for making our night a stress free night to remember. .

A real South Melbourne pub, not some awful, generic, monoculture modern attempt at a pub. Reasonable prices, lovely staff who were wonderful with my kids, sadly the Poppy seed squid special has shrunk over the years but I'll get over it. Will be back.
