Comments of Great Ocean Road Brewhouse

Good vibes and even better cheesy garlic bread. My partner enjoyed the extensive beer collection with a lot of local beers - hence the drinking through the region. The staff were very friendly and the owner was lovely. We nibbled on the nachos but had to order another serve of the garlic bread because it was so good.
Best pub in Apollo Bay!
V. P.
Called in for lunch. Great looking pub on Main Street in town. Plenty of different spaces to enjoy a drink around the place indoor and out in the beer garden. Live Music on weekends. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. The food was quite expensive for a pub which we didn’t mind paying but it came up a bit short. The seafood pasta pasta was a little chewy needed another minute or two and the fish tacos lacked salsa or a sauce they were a bit dry. It was a shame because they were tasty and well presented. We noticed that the next time they were served to a customer there was a sauce on the taco after we told the lovely young lady cleaning up the tables so I would definitely try here again next time we are in town as it may have just been a bad day.

We celebrated our anniversary and had a wonderful night. We had the strapback lamb and slow cooked burger, both were generous portions and really delicious. Service was exceptional; quick, friendly and attentive. We sat in the front beer garden and enjoyed the beautiful view of the ocean. We’ll definitely be back next time we are in Apollo Bay “)

Nice place. Friendly staff. They were about 10mins to closing the kitchen when we came in on our way back to Melbourne. Our steak were a bit over cooled than what we asked for. But I understand that it may be because there were 10 of us in our family that came in last minute. Still a good experience overall. 🙂

Bistro staff were totally amazing and the bar staff were even better. What a place. 10/10.... Lamb back strap was so beautiful but the pumpkin and mushroom risotto was too die for. We absolutely loved the environment and food. Go try their food and beer. You won't be disappointed. What a place!! ❤️
R. G.
Good pub with great atmosphere.
Went in for dinner and a few beers. I had a Mexican Chicken Parma which tasted pretty good. I took around 7min for the food to arrive, pretty quick but to be fair, people that ordered steak looked happy with their food too. Burgers for kids looks alright as well! They have live music on Saturdays as well and a great selection of beer (25 on tab). Easy to order a Carlton 😂

What a great venue! Atmosphere was really buzzing. We had dinner there. Porterhouse steak, was cooked perfectly; medium rare as requested and hubby had the half crayfish which he said was superb! Wins hands down over the venue up the road 😉 Plenty of staff working the floor which was great to see. Very friendly and quick to clear tables. Bar staff also fantastic. Will definitely recommend and next time in Apollo Bay will be making a visit.

Great selection of beers on tap (as to be expected of a brewhouse). Traditional pub fare meals - and very large serves, loved it! Had the fish and chips which were delicious and not overly oily which was great. My friends enjoyed their meals too. Also excellent classic tunes on. Will go back when we're in Apollo Bay next.
S. E.
Great selection of local brews and has very nice food. Highly recommend having a meal and a drink here.
I'm not including the accommodation in my rating as it wasn't great, basic beds and the shared bathrooms were in a terrible state of repair. It was also quite noisy, didn't seem to be a lot of sound insulation in the room. I wouldn't recommend it.
S. W.
I'm sure outside covid restrictions I would rate much higher.
The menu was heavily restricted, however the meals come it super fast and we're very tasty.
Many local beers on tap along with the regulars.
Mask wearing was followed by customers, however we noticed only two staff from a very large crew were wearing masks.
The place was not crowded.
We are looking to come back when covid restrictions are less.
H.
Great distillery in Apollo Bay. Highly recommend doing the tasting paddle with 4 gins to try. The Speculant was by far my favourite. Pizzas were delicious as well. Great staff, very friendly.
E. B.
Good food and beers and atmosphere with the fire inside. A little pricey with meals around $30.
Staff checking vaccination which was good to see. Couple staff not wearing a masks though.
T. B.
Always appreciate dog friendly venues! This place made us feel right at home during our visit to Apollo Bay. Amazing beer selection and food is on point. Til next time!
B. R.
Disappointing experience
Did the beer and gin tasting paddles at a cost of $40, and while the products were good the service was basic at best.
We got no customer engagement from staff, no communication about the products, no upsell or even “which ones did you like”.
For the money I was expecting a far better experience.
We did a $10 / head wine tasting in the Bellarine a few days before which was far superior, resulting us spending up on their products.
Not today. The 2 beers I liked were both out of stock - so why give a tasting of something that you can’t then sell?
The staff here need much better customer service training.
N. B.
Fabulous deck for humans and dogs. The service was great, really friendly staff and the food was delicious. I had the Mexican Parma, the chicken was succulent and the toppings really tasty. I wasn't a fan of the chips, but I think that's my personal taste.
There is a huge selection of beer here, I don't drink beer so I have no recommendations, but locals tell me the local brews are pretty good.
R. T.
After 3 days in apollo Bay and a number of meals you delivered the absolute best dinner last night.
We both had chicken mine a parma my partners a Mexican they were both amazing and enormous.
The staff from bar to waitresses could not be faulted so friendly and willing to assist in any way.
Thank you to all will definitely be back next time we visit
T. P.
We went to Apollo Bay for 4 days. Had dinner here the first night and ended up going back every night because the food and service was fantastic. Great live music, awesome range of beers and great staff. Bushy, Shane and the rest of the staff were flat out doing 12 hr days but still had a smile and a friendly hello for everyone there. Looking forward to going back again.
P. M.
For a pub the GORB is absolutely an awesome bar service and dining experience. Efficient and friendly staff. Spot on food presentation and tastes. Considering how busy it was when we were there very quick service. A goto in Apollo Bay.
V. H.
Excellent Mexican Parma 9/10. So tasty will eat here again! Fabulous place to have a meal & excellent customer service. Hubby said local Chop Shop Pale Ale was very nice
T. S.
Delicious dinner last night!🤤😋 I had the 'Curry of the day' (Red Thai chicken curry 🍛) medium heat with red and green chillies🌶️, served with rice 🍚, fresh green beans and a papadam! I would 100% gladly have that again, chicken was melt in the mouth tender! Well worth $28.00 Great portion size as, I got to take the rest home and have it for leftovers. GREAT customer service.
L. E.
Nice venue with friendly staff but wouldn't recommend coming here for the vegan meal. I ordered the pumpkin salad that was meant to come with tofu, but it didn't (after seeing another diner receive the same salad that included the tofu). When I mentioned it to the waiter she told me she would tell the chef but heard nothing back. Not a big deal but the meal I felt was somewhat overpriced and the yoghurt dressing just tasted like sweet breakfast yoghurt.
J. B.
Had a fantastic time on Monday, food was terrific and prompt (except for a slight mixup on the order). Staff were all exceptionally friendly & hardworking, particularly the manager Shane (hilarious too!) and another staff member Leo. We will be back for summer!
C. F.
Great pub. Don't order steak much because I like it rare. Place was busy took my chance and it paid off. Cooked to perfection.
S. R.
Really friendly staff, honestly blown away by both bar and wait staff.
Great place for some live music and a few drinks.
A. R.
Great people, superb food and phenomenal beer. Well worth a visit. 👍
W. D.
Food was great and really quick. In an impromptu group of 40 blokes an hour before closing, the meals came out in great time and no lack in quality.
H. A.
Enjoyed a really nice lunch here today. My old dog was even given some pats and a treat 😊
M. K.
Food decent. Staff friendly. Allow dogs in the indoor/outdoor area. A good experience for all.
T. C.
Great, friendly staff. Good pub vibes. Everyone doing really well to manage the covid restrictions at the time we were there. Loved how welcome Doug the groodle was - the way to his heart is with Schmackos!! See you again soon.
N. P.
Busy bistro with live music in the beer garden. Good selection of tap beers. Food is ok. Good place for big group or families.
J. B.
Had a nice lunch really well organised considering the restrictions they only allowed 30 people but smaller menu which helped get orders out quickly nice meal and beers can’t wait when they can have more people there and the Warm weather turns up but would recommend to anyone to call in for a feed and a beer
T. S.
Very nice place at the tasting room.
Heater when is cold and plenty of choices.
The beers were quite warm on my point of view si I was quite disappointed.
A. L.
Service was prompt and friendly. Plenty of food and drink choices on the menu. View from outside seating was great.
K. M.
Welcomed by friendly staff with a cosy log fire.
Food was fast and amazing. One of the best steaks I’ve ever had.
I. U.
The charging station is just behind the Brewery Restaurant and free of charge for customers. The power was 9KW but pretty enough to top up the battery while having dinner.
B. B.
Amazing selection of beers on tap and great food
Just note you can't to a paddle at the main bar but at the bottle shop
M. P.
Great food, great drinks, nice staff. Good range of beers for the craft beer lovers as well
G. G.
Great beers & the meals came out very quickly.
My only criticism is that they didn't remove the plates when we finished eating.
J. G.
Delicious and generous serving of food. Team members are fantastic, friendly and helpful. We had a great night
M. J.
Friendly pub, good food and excellent hospitality. Went there to spend half an hour and ended up staying for 3 hours. Great Beers on tap.
a. v.
Great customer service, delicious food, we have tried Mexican parma and curry of the day( coconut chicken curry) both were awesome especially coconut chicken curry was soooo delicious…. Nice ambiance.
A. V.
Nice Brewhouse with some really good local craft 🍻. Large portions so be aware. A laid back ambience.
C. F.
Good food and even better local beer. For those who are on the way to/from the twelve apostles, make this a good stop
A. M.
Decent meals and beers, a bit pricy but generous portions. Nice location!
S. H.
We were made feel very welcome with our puppy. Had a lovely relaxed luch & few drinks with great service.
L. B.
Food was decent (slightly overpriced) but of the 15 staff I saw only 2 were wearing a mask. Will avoid in future.
J. Y.
Great pub, fantastic people, excellent food, this is the go-to place in Apollo Bay You will be sorry to miss it!
N. M.
Staff were very welcoming, and the service and quality of our meals was exceptional! We will definitely be back again 😃👍
P. D.
This is a great country pub! Dog friendly and very friendly and helpful staff. The bistro food is good, solid fare with so much on a plate that you'll never leave dissatisfied.
The Prickly Moses beers are fantastic, so try every one of them! The Black Panther and Tailpipe are especially worth a point out three!!
R. B.
Staff were really great. Amazing vegi burger and really good local beer!
A. C.
The guys are very kind and friendly.
Food is good and it was live music 🎶
Nice and relaxed place.
S. D.
Excellent food, good range of gluten free choices, fast service.
M. A.
Food came out super quickly and the parmas were quite large. Good pub meal, quite pricey.
A. G.
Have had a Sunday lunch on our road back to Melbourne. Good food, a bit little expensive. Nice craft beers. Family friendly with a play area for the kids. Nice atmosphere. Very friendly staff. Would recommend.
D. L.
Local beer was nice. Food was just okay. Wedges were nice but could have been crispier. Half of the porterhouse was much thinner than the other leading to it being well done when asked for medium. Garlic butter sauce was too cold to spread. Parma was good but could have been more flavourful. Chips and salad were nice though. Staff were also friendly.
S. D.
Food was nice but the prices were way too high for what was received.
T. S.
Overall above average experience. Service was good and very understanding but potentially could offer some water next time. Mexican Parma was stunning on the palate, the Jalapenos gave it that extra KICK👌! The only thing that put a damper on the experience was looking at my bank out and then end of the feed! Was very pricy and I make 7 figures a year $$
C. S.
Proper spot to have a lunch, try out some local drinks, and enjoy the Apollo Bay Atmosphere!
C. B.
Highly recommend stopping here, with your doggies, for a drink and meal! Dogs are welcome in the beer garden, they even got spoilt with a treat from the workers and had clean water bowls for them to use.
Meals were great, better than your typical pub meal and service was amazing. Inside has fireplaces to cosy around and best of all they're located overlooking the coast/ ocean - can't get better!
R. _.
Great pub championing local produce. A good range of high quality local craft beers supported with friendly staff. Also have Carlton Draught and Great Northern on Tap for those who are after a quality non craft beer. A good menu covering all standard pub fare with plenty of Veg options. Dog friendly beer garden!
J. C.
Be sure to reserve ahead. This popular eatery is well worth the visit. I had the crayfish linguine special which had ample crayfish. A good selection of beers on tap and friendly staff made our night.
L.
Received the most warmest welcome from Dominic. What a lovely crew they have working there, happy to advise re all drink options. A beautiful bar area and although the beach is obscured by foliage, you can see the ocean off in the distance. Will definitely visit again.
D. C.
The Brewhouse is a country pub at the end of the main strip of Apollo Bay. The staff were all very friendly although most were not wearing masks correctly or pulling them down to talk to each other which was a little strange. The food service was very prompt even though they were busy. Food was average pub fare. The lounge area with the fire is very cosy.
M. C.
I had the Portalington mussels and they were good. The service was quick, large choices of beer/cider in tap, the staff is nice.
I would leave a 5 star review if the menus had been cleaned between customers, mine was a bit sticky.
M. N.
There's a reason this place is really popular! The beers, the food and the people are amazing. Service is quick as well. There's several sitting areas. But do get here sooner, the tables tend to run full.
I opted for their apple and mango cider which was refreshing. Do give their steak a try.
One evening we were there, they had live music as well. There's a smoking area away from the main sitting areas. During the days when it's cold and rainy, they do have covers all over the out door sitting place (in addition to the parasols) to keep the elements out and patrons comfortable.
D. D.
This place had the best parmigiana that I've had all year and they unbelievably large, tender chicken, served with amazing chips, salad and vegetables What a great meal, with some home brew beers. Give it a go, as you wont be disappointed.
Z. S.
Absolutely fantastic bistro and Brewhouse. Beautiful building. Great atmosphere, great food. Also thank you so much for the Tesla destination chargers, it is the reason why we dined here to support a great business that is savvy and kind enough to provide this amenity.
J. S.
Nice schnitzel with salad and chips. Good range of delicious beers on tap. We were accommodated even without a booking. Nice marquee area out to the side we sat, sheltered from wind. Good pub vibe. Food came out quick.
R. B.
Staff were good, meals were good and lots of special food options. A nice find on the road.
B. d. J.
There are 2 pubs in Apollo Bay but only this one serves local craft beer, which is why I love this place. The food options are excellent and the laid-back feel of the bistro makes for a great dinner out with friends. Highly recommend.
g. m.
Old style hotel 🏨 with modern amenities friendly staff fine dining and spacious rooms for entertainment
M. G.
Very nice food and service and beautiful local beer!
S. K.
Great spot with a nice selection of craft beers from the region on tap. Lots of Prickly Moses and even limited edition brews.
Good pub meals esp fish and chips and parmas. When the fish tacos are on, get 'em!
Nice beer garden with view towards the water when the weather is nice.
S. O.
Gin flight (like a taster of the local gin) was awesome! Staff friendly! Nice warm fires and great food as well as locally brewed beers! Highly recommend!
C. “. M.
Originally from the USA but been in AUS for two years, maybe my accent threw off the wait staff but I hope it wasn’t discrimination. Got passed to the next member thrice before my order could be taken. They all seemed very stressed out as the power to the whole pub went out twice during my visit. Anywho took 20+ mins just to place my order. Got the fish and chips with a glass of the local ale. Very impressed with the turnaround between order time and delivery was quite fast. The presentation of the food was great! However the fish seemed to be just bland mushy paste. The batter was nice and not too greasy. Salad was nice but served with far too much dressing. The chips were all but perfect nice job. The live music was awesome would go to drink and listen again but maybe just bad luck for the food and service. Hope this helps, all the best.
M.
Delicious pub food! Steak cooked to perfection and the mussels cooked in the cider were some of the best I’ve ever tasted. Highly recommend coming here for dinner if you’re in Apollo bay
T. M.
Went for lunch on a rainy day while camping, good selection of craft beers, enjoyed the amber ale, be good if they had tasting paddles. Everyone’s food came quick and tasted good, probably on the higher price side vs quality. Staff were friendly and helpful, they all also did an amazing job making sure COVID rules were followed by visitors to the brewery.
M. R.
Great beers. Friendly staff. Nice ambience. Everything is perfect.
B. G.
After the disappointment up the street at "Chopstix", where I was served raw chicken.
I checked Google reviews before going.
Had the 350g porterhouse. Amazingly cooked medium rare to perfection, peppercorn sauce was also generous in size and super amazing!!!
Great steak, wasn't initially expecting such high quality!!!
J. W.
Covid certainly can make an impact and here is no different. Firstly, the food was good. The steak was cooked as requested and we rate the swordfish.
Putting people to dine in a TAB room, with the speakers all going, people coming in and out to check their bets, going to the toilet and you're seated on a table in the room by yourself is not a good experience.
The staff came in pretty quickly and removed us when they discovered they had a cancellation and we were seated in the main pub.. much better.
The menu on the website is a greatly reduced version of the menu on the website. I've added a picture so you know what to expect. If you're gluten free, I'd take a close look. There is a specials board in the pub area that we discovered after we changed tables, finally, steak is an option at a pub.
Anyway, the 4 stars is really due to the menu being very different to what's advertised on the website, and as you'll see, the options are very limited. Maybe use the Web to post the specials board as well.
C. C.
The tasting room was brilliant- chilled environment, staff knowledgeable and friendly.
In the pub, we sat outside in the sun, with a great view. Once again, very friendly and helpful staff. Thank you
N. P.
Nice cold craft beers. Good variety
J. G.
Good beers, ciders, whisky, gin. Good service, good times. The Brewhouse is a down to earth, friendly pub, big Shane and Courtney will look after you.
M. H.
Friendly staff, good food, relaxed environment. My partner particularly appreciated the huge variety of craft beers on tap. I loved the freshness of the swordfish and veggies. I recommend having a meal here for sure!
r. k.
Didn’t expect that an Indian cuisine in this Brewhouse..
It was much delicious than compared to many other Indian restaurants..
t. o.
Great food and good staff! I was left alone to write and enjoy a few otway stouts. They practiced social distancing appropriately and accordingly. I loved it that much i returned for a meal. I had an amazing steak! It was that good i ordered it again right after! In this hard time in the otways, it’s important to support these businesses who relied on tourism. Its a beautiful place to be and its money well spent!
J. J.
Good beer, food was really nice, but a little too much going on in some dishes.
S. M.
Speedy service, great food. Lovely family atmosphere. Only disappointment was the skill tester machine was not working much to my sons dismay but i'd hardly call that a show stopper.
G. T.
Highly recommend this place. Very friendly staff even with a 2 and 4 year old. We had the mexican parmigiana and a turkish roll foccacia sort of thing. Both were great. Beer selection is very good.
B. P.
Our 3yr old gave the soup of the day a 5 out of 5. The rest of our food came out quick and was finished in the same speed. Staff were very friendly and the venue was very covid cautious. Will be back.
G. B.
On an expensive side. Spacious place with indoor and outdoor dining. Friendly staff. Large serves and good selection.
Great choice of good quality local beers.
L.
Budget accommodation in a fantastic location opposite the beach at a good price. Essentially old fashioned style rooms on the top of the pub with communal bathrooms. 3 of us stayed here in a triple room in early January, peak Christmas holiday time for 2 nights. Excellent value for money at this time of year, clean but basic, dated bathrooms. Very impressed with a knock on the door in the morning to ask if we needed anything - never had that happen anywhere before! Just be aware that the music playing downstairs in the evening is very loud and made our room vibrate (didn't worry me).
L. R.
Really reasonably priced meals, that I would rate as good pub food. The basics were as you would expect. Staff very nice. Our desert order went missing but the sticky date pudding was worth waiting for as it turned out!
Would suggest for groups or a quick bite to eat.
Loud & happy environment as you expect pubs to be that mix the sports bar & main bar, along with family dining.
It seemed to be a good friendly local that was open in the middle of winter, unlike many other restaurants & cafes on the main road.
M. K.
Delicious meal here! Had the schnitzel and it was super yum. The family had the fish and chips which was fresh!
The mango and apple cider was amazing 😍 great location and friendly staff. We'll be back!
L. L.
Yummy food and huge meals. Great value and view
L. S.
A nice place with a reasonable price. They offer good beer and good food with a great place to hangout. The service was quick with friendly staffs. The place was huge but not too crowded so its a perfect place for family dinner. The steak was one of the best food we ordered. The pork ribs was so tender and delicious too.
A. R.
Nice stop with a refreshing Red ale....nice atmosphere and staff are very friendly
T. M.
Awesome venue, great beers and amazing ciders. Great service all staff were welcoming and very friendly. Free Live music, great vibe overall! We will definitely be returning back here again. P.s there was also a really awesome sour beer which is worth a try!
M. G.
The best place to stop for lunch on a bone chilling winters day. With 4 firewood fueled fireplaces to get all so toasty near.
E. B.
Good menu , friendly staff . We were there before 6pm waiting for order the food, by the time I managed my ordering was more than 10 people behind me waiting for order the food, it was only one staff taking the order . Just wonder will be any other way to improve the service at this restaurant section ? Food sent out very quick but chips was soggy under cook, vegetables overcooked, steak nice grilled but no taste. I understand that was a peak hours dinner time but food really can be much better as lots staff there and I was like first customers of the night .
A. G.
Nice average meal. Large serving of Fish & Chips (couldn't finish my fish). Prompt service. Lovely wait staff. Menu was quite minimal and somewhat lacking of choices. Bistro only opened at 6pm, too late for families with young children. Bistro bathroom had not been cleaned since.. I presume the previous night (we were first seated and first to use facilities). There was a human hair on my fish... I dealt with it and didn't give feedback to the restaurant.
K. W.
Inside and out are visually lovely. Nice atmosphere. Great service from all employees, friendly too. The bearded bartender was very helpful with drink selections. Food was great. Different flavours and combinations with a few menu items too which was good to see. Big area inside and has nice outdoor area. Meals come out very quickly and hot too.No issue with anything or anyone from this place :) would come here again. Much better than every other food place in Apollo Bay for sure!
J. R.
Staff very helpful with menu and travel information. My fish and chips were exceptional. Perfectly cooked, served hot, crisp. My daughter's steak sandwich was also exceptional. Light pink in the middle and great charcoal flavor. Great ale. Reasonable prices.
K. P.
Thanks for a lovely Parma! Great spot to unwind.
B. W.
Great building, top location, easy parking at 5pm. Good choice of beers. Expensive, but that's the area. Delicious food. My issues: bartender served me a beer from two different taps and denied the mistake. Had to stand in line for 20 minutes to order mayo for the chips as they were served dry.
T. H.
Good range of beers and food to compliment. Vegetarian stir fry was probably one of the nicest dishes I've had to date.
R. A.
Absolutely loved this place. Great atmosphere and staff were all so friendly. The food was amazing and could not be faulted. Great price which we did not expect for the location and did I mention AMAZING FOOD!! Super quick service which is always a bonus with hungry kids. Kudos to the chef and their team. We will be back for sure!! Thanks for our amazing experience.
B. R.
Awesome pub. There is a big wood fire heater in the main room, huge selection of craft and regular beers on tap. Very friendly bar service and their hot wedges were really nice too. Excellent stop on the great Ocean road.
J. H.
So good we came back again 2 nights later for dinner!
Staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating with special requests we had for one of our meals.
Food was delicious and generous in size.
Fantastic selection of beers and wine from the region. Strongly recommend doing the beer tasting!
A. T.
Great craft beer choices, yummy food with a good variety and a great atmosphere to the whole pub. We also stayed a night and although it was simple, it was all you need and felt clean, safe and was a nice place to sleep. Thanks for the good stay :)
L. C.
Excellent selection of beers and none of the usual Australian suspects. Happy to offer tasters and friendly bar staff. Though it's a shame they only offer tasting paddles I the bottle shop and not the bar. They also closed the bar at 10pm on a Sunday, though it was rather quiet.
N. T.
Great local beer on tap. We also went out the back and tried a taste testing beer paddle. Highly recommended and good value. Then bought a 6 pack of our favourite beer and enjoyed back at our accommodation.
Went back for a meal during our time in Apollo Bay and was great. Also enjoyed the outdoor dining and live music.
J. R.
Always nice to have a range of local brews on tap to enjoy. Unfortunately the bistro food could be that bit more exceptional to really make the experience more rounded. That being said the service is great and the location means good views and easy parking.
M. P.
Generous serves, tasty tacos and nice apple cider
The meals were of generous size. The chips were crispy with a nice seasoning, and fish was a good serving. The fish was flake, so not a lot of flavour. The reason for the 4 stars, was the fish and chips were nothing special for $24.
Chicken tacos were the highlight. For $18 they were filling, chicken grilled / juicy, and salad was fresh and crispy. Taco had a nice hot spicy kick to them I enjoyed. Their apple cider went really well with the tacos.
Staff were great, taking you to the table and explaining the menu.
Thanks for a good night.
D. C.
Great pricing and delicious food! This is a go to small town pub.
Not to mention the knowledge that you're eating at the southernmost pub on the Australian mainland!
S. T.
Honest pub with great selection of local brew. Staff are youthful and knowledgeable on the different beers. We opted for the stout and summer ale which were both magnificent! The stout has essences of a fresh loaf of bread! Tuesday night is parma night - a schnitzel with tomato paste and cheese with different toppings. Fun and family friendly environment.

The tasting room out the back was great with a lovely, informative young woman serving who told us all about the local beers and ciders on offer. The food in the pub section was pretty poor and sub par. It's hard to stuff up basic pub food like a chicken schnitzel, but it's was oily and the salad was quilted and dead. Wouldn't go back but it's a tourist town so we won't be missed.

Typical Australian hotel style bar / Restaurant. Pool table, halo hours, trivia game every Tuesday and a really good offer of local tap beers! Good for a drink or two, it’s interior design would deserve more love!
J. J.
Popped in to try some local produce and it was fantastic. Beer and cider tastings were generous and cheap. As was the delicious cheese platter - talk about a hunk of blue cheese! Wonderful knowledgeable staff.
Restaurant was a little more basic with food items, (only because we are picky Melbourne food snobs) typical country pub style but still had friendly staff and generous portions.
S. I.
Good selection of drinks and nice location.
J. S.
Has wifi food came fast and hot was confused by the way we had to order, ordered the barramundi and it was the best barramundi I had in Australia. Beer selection was good too, lost a star BC my friends steak was not properly cooked first time. Would recommend to anyone who visits Apollo bay
P. E.
Thoroughly enjoyed dinner Friday night . Clean and inviting. Staff attentive. Ordered Nepalese lamb & spinach curry and chef special beef stir fry/noodles - could really taste the spices — excellent. Quick service despite bistro full. Compliments to staff! Ginger beer was great too. Worth the walk up to the top end of town.
A.
Staff were very nice. Nice venue with a cozy fireplace.
My husband and I had steaks that were delicious, some of the best we have had on our month long travel through Australia. I would have given 5 stars but there was a repeated high pitched shrieking that went on at numerous times during the meal. At first I thought it was an emergency fire alarm but as time went on I realized that it is likely the alarm on the deep frier in the kitchen. You would not believe how loud it was. i felt so sorry for the kitchen staff as well. It must have been beyond loud for them. In other countries worksafe would not allow employees to be subjected to such a loud repetitive noise as it causes hearing loss. I hope this restaurant can improve this because the food and staff were great.
P. S.
Had a great dinner under covid rules.
Friendly staff

The best selection of craft beer on the Great Ocean Road. The spiritual home of Prickly Moses Brewing, there is a purpose built tap room for those really wanting to sample the best of the brewery out the back.
The food here is pretty good, if you mind the decor around the bistro, are intimidated by the locals in the public bar, or the screaming kids in the play area, just head outside and enjoy the views. It's heated and undercover when the weather turns sour.
Just be warned, the locals don't drink much craft and so the packaged beers can be a little long in the tooth. Don't expect anything too fresh unless you know it's a recent release or the Prickly Moses on tap. Also don't expect the bar staff to know much about the beer, most are backpackers passing through or old timers who could care less.
The accommodation upstairs is basic but serves its purpose as a cheap place to rest your head. Checking in can be a bit of a chore as you need to do it at the bar. Most of the staff don't know the process and so you will likely be waiting for the owner. Perhaps remind him he needs to train his staff to make things easier on himself 😉
Otherwise comfortable and reasonably clean for a old hotel.
N. R.
Amazing selection of beer on tap and bottle. Pool table and lots of TVs showing mostly sport. The food was very good if slightly pricy. We also stayed in one of the rooms. Clean but very basic with not so much as a kettle and shared showers and toilets which were clean. Quite noisy above the pub in the evening so don't stay here if you want to go to bed early. We enjoyed the stay and the we was me plus 7 year old daughter.
J. T.
We went at 930pm and the kitchen was close because of public holiday.
The choices available is wide, bartenders are clear of every type of alcohol and its taste. So you can ask for recommendation and they will surely give you a helping hand! The price is at a reasonable rate and if you are going budget, go for their beer of the week and it will not disappoint!
Many activities available, pool and darts too! Atmosphere was okay and the environment was interesting!
D. S.
We enjoyed the live entertainment and then had dinner at the bistro. Dinner was surprisingly good and very fast, with good service. Bartender service wasn't as friendly as the pub up the road (judged on more than a single bartender, too), but bar service was fast. The interior seating was light and casual on the warm day we went there.
M. Y. T.
Good pub grub. Fish tacos on today's lunch special, pretty yum.
G. F.
Great place for a meal and drinks. And the Brewhouse gives you many choices to choose from whether you enjoy a beer, cider or wine
C. F.
Great, spacious place to grab drinks with mates
J. M.
A little slow on service as it was so busy . The food was spot on really nice just a shame they run out of the beers I wanted to try , but other than that had a great time here.
K. H.
Great range of local beer on tap (Prickly Moses in particular), friendly and responsive staff, delicious pub meals and good coffee. Staff accidentally brought fish and chips instead of the fish of the day to the table and they not only refunded the meal but brought out the correct meal within a few minutes. Very impressed!
D. i. O.
A beautiful dive in bar ! Nice decor & vibe with a cool sea breeze terrace . Staff was beyond nice and explained all the brews they have on tap . A must go when in Apollo Bay
L. W.
Prompt service from friendly staff and yummy red curry for lunch today
R.
A friendly pub with lots of options for seating. You can either sit outside in a beer garden area or you can sit inside the cosy pub. They offer a great selection of beer and wines and friendly, helpful service. But some of the meals are quite expensive including the fish of the day which was marlin and cost $30 but was not a generous serving. Would recommend checking the place out for a drink or two.
S. F.
Entree came out same time as mains
And so many flys
D. S.
It's hard searching for vegan food, and we were amazed. The vegan pasta dish was far better than we expected, and the roast spuds and veggies on the side were gorgeous. The quality of the beer goes without saying. Highly recommended
G. S.
Always able to find something nice on the menu and the staff are friendly. They have an excellent selection of wines and of cause their craft beers. Their tastes of the region at the rear is excellent for sampling a paddle of their craft beers.
D. B.
Great food. Great service. Great atmosphere. Awesome brews. Staff member 'Gigi' in particular was fantastic friendly welcoming and so accommodating. Gigi sincerely deserves a pat on the back. She does an amazing job. She was the reason we came back again. Thank you!
J. F.
Happy and friendly staff. Great Mexican Parma.
J. H.
Amazing service. I ordered Dish of the Day and had the Fish&Chips brought out to me.
Alerted the counter waiter who checked with the kitchen. Confirmed my order and immediately refunded me the entire meal while other staff still managed to deliver the fish a minute later. I was stunned. He personally came to my table after we had finished to check that I got the fish I ordered. For me, that was a never before experienced standard of service. Plus all our other meals, beef burger, prawn linguini, chicken schnitzel, came out at the same time and were fantastic.
Highly recommended
Also a great range of local Otway beers.
D. A.
Great place for lunch or dinner or just drinks
T. R.
Souvalki wasn't too bad, but the porterhouse was a bit grisly. Atmosphere good and excellent service, but be aware that dogs are allowed in the front outside area.
D. T.
Visited here last night on a trip through Apollo Bay - and it's a great place to sit, relax, grab some easy food, and enjoy the MANY brilliant beers on tap. The service was exceptional too. The food was a little cold when it arrived, but not a great disaster as it was still really tasty.
b. c.
Awesome food and service :) had pho, pulled pork burger, cheesecake, mango pear cider
N. B.
The steak, duck risotto, and kids cheese burger were all great. Large servings and Very fast service - even though they were completely full (on a winter night in July) with a lively atmosphere. The wait staff was very friendly. Definitely go here
P. B.
Great place for food and beer, you can even take your dog to dine or drink with you in the beer garden!
L. A.
Ordered fried calamari as appetizers. Lightly battered. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. Tasty. Had t-bone steak and wagyu beef steak as the main. Prepared to our liking for rare and medium rare respectively. Both were tender, juicy and delicious except the wagyu beef was slightly burnt. The bar was very customer oriented. The tap water was chilled including the glass too. Very heartwarming.
L. G.
The boys behind the bar could not have been more helpful and friendly..a good laugh was a extra bonus!!
Helped Selecting a fabulous wine. The meals were so delicious and filling I can't say a bad word...i can't wait to come back and enjoy all over again..
S. D.
Very relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. Great food at reasonable prices. Dogs are allowed on deck area.
D. S.
Nice view, friendly staff, cheerful vibe, pool table, smokers area, sports on tv, great beers on tap and ciders. Good range of drinks alcoholic and non alcoholic.
Very nice tasty food!
P. M.
Sunny day, great location and great staff. Couldn't ask for better.
M. K.
Really great atmosphere. Great selection of craft Beers . Pretty good pub fare as well.
N. A.
Great atmosphere with a nice log fire on a cold wet day. The cider was great on tap and very easy to drink. We had the Mexican Parma which was bloody delicious!!
T.
Very nice staff and just an overall great place to stop and have a cold beer on a hot day driving through the Great Ocean Road. The brews were really good! Very big, open place with loads of indoor seating and an outdoor lawn area in the back.
J. B.
Great restaurant. The food tastes fresh, the selection is wide enough to fit nearly everyone, but narrow enough to be able to do fresh for all the dishes offered, the atmosphere is friendly and not too loud. Would stop by again.
T. B. (.
If I lived here, this would be my local. Great beers on tap and a good buzz around the joint.
I tried the steak sandwich as it advertised using bread from the local bakery. It was disappointing that the bread served was stale. I soldiered on as the rest of the steak sandwich was really good.
I did query the day the bread was baked but did not get a response apart from an apology.
Unfortunately for me the stale bread taste lingered. Even after washing down with another pint.
If I was the local bakery I would not have been happy to have my product associated with what was served.
M. K.
Great relaxing vibe. Friendly Staff. Plenty of frosty ales to choose from. Loved the big fireplace and food was excellent. Try the Mexican Parmigiana! You won't be dissapointed. Great place to hang out and watch the footy.( AFL that is! ) Not that other game😂
G. B.
Decent food, reasonably priced. Great selection of local beer. Massive portions. Warm welcome, but very cold inside the restaurant during winter visit.
H. M.
Great place staff very friendly and best part Dog friendly too
A. B.
Great little brewery in Apollo Bay. My partner and I both had the fish (Flake), which came with chips and salad. Generous portions for a decent price. The fish was delicious and crispy plus didn't have a very fishy taste (which is how we both like it). The only downside was that the chips came Luke warm like they had been sitting ready for a bit. We also had the sticky date pudding and omg it was so good. One of the best we've ever had. Came out nice and hot and served with cream AND ice cream. The dessert and fish is why I give it 5 stars.
J. L.
The beer is good. Food serving is very filling, at least for the pastas. The salmon scallop penne was delicious. The gnnochi (special) was good too, though really much too filling. Service staff were warm and lively. Generous space.
G. M.
Nice place
Friendly staff
Good food
Highly recommended
S. W.
Incredible beer selection. The menu for the beer is a sight to behold and takes longer to choose a beer than a meal! The ambience of the place is good and situated on the sea front as well. Food was good but service was a little slow but we were a large group. Wi-fi code is given from the bar.
P. R.
Very good menu. Food well presented. Great staff. Well worth a visit.
N. C.
Good food, friendly staff with a classic old pub vibe. Would be a favourite with holiday makers during peak season I think.
P. M.
We went there on steak night and their steak was really good. My husband had a parma and he liked it. The staff were friendly. There was a beer section but we knew nothing about beer but it looks enjoyable for someone who is knowledgable about beer!
M. S.
My wife claims that fried fish she had in her fish and chips was the best she's ever had. It's great to see such a lively restaurant in a smaller community - it's a wonderful spot for travelers to get a bite to eat late into the evening.
S. B.
Friendly staff and great, quick service. The porterhouse was recommended and it was delicious and tender
A. L.
Just OK. Beers are good for variety but some are not up to scratch. Food was at the lower end of what you'd expect at a pub these days and not cheap.
Burger was ok but small and the Parma was given a 2/5 by a friend. Disappointed. The pub down the road is better.
B. E.
Friendly staff, quick service, great atmosphere!
B. B.
Food and service were good. Packed at dinner so make a booking if you want to sit on the dinning area. Outdoor area looks quite nice. Prices were cheap maybe slightly higher and the rest of Apollo bay.
c. s.
Our favourite place for Sunday Lunch along the Great Ocean Road. Well worth the extra drive from Lorne. Meals are always great, as is the Staff service.
A. P.
Cozy brewery, whit a fire place really nice at winter, pool and excellent beers. Pale Ale is really refreshing. Food is also great, awesome chicken parmi. It's a really good place to have fun a nd recharge your batteries after a long day walking or surfing.
S. C.
Had dinner there on a Friday night and it was really good, so decided to go back Saturday night as they had live music. It was much busier on Saturday and the food quality dropped significantly. Then we also missed the live music as it didn't start until 9pm and our toddlers were getting cranky.
T. P.
Nice place to have a drink and listen to some live music, however the food wasn’t that great! To be fair I had a salad but there were pits in the olives and the “chicken” seemed more like chicken loaf from the deli.
J. W.
Crowded, cosy atmosphere. Food is good, with generous portions. Had the Kangaroo Hotpot (which is really a stew) and Fish of the Day (snapper). Beers on tap are nice too.
P. O.
5 stars all the way. From the location, ambience, beauty of the pub to the food it is outstanding. Make sure you visit the bottle'o out the back where you can get a tasting paddle of the local brew. They also do a cheese platter. I'm considering moving here so I can make this joint my local.
D. S.
Great selection of craft beers and wines. Had wedges for snack for 2 people and was just the right amount. Friendly staff and food didn't take long, though it wasn't too busy at the time.
D. M.
The beer was really good and less expensive than elsewhere (11 dollars for a tap beer pint). The food we had was a tad less interesting.
A. B.
Nice food, very reasonably priced. Disappointing there were people smoking within a meter of the outdoor dining even though signs indicated this wasn't allowed. We were seated next to the external door so we had cigarette smoke every time someone went outside. Staff were very much aware of the smokers, disappointing in this day and age
H. R.
Friendly staff and very fast service! My chicken parmigiana was delicious and was served to me in record time. The bistro is spacious and wasn’t too busy on a Sunday night.
J. S.
Great place in Apollo Bay for a beer (or several) and good pub food. Nice and welcoming staff, a good restaurant area and bar. Outdoor (covered) seating plus some games for the kids. Recommended.
D. S.
Great steak on steak night, good atmosphere, friendly staff, good drinks
J. B.
Large noisy place, great location and atmosphere. Menu large with varied choices. Everything you need in a great pub.
P. N.
We have somewhat mixed feelings about this place. I had fish tacos and satay chicken which were both good. My gin tonic with Australien Ink Gin was excellent. My partner had a very average Aperol Spritz and a veggie Thai curry that was mediocre at best. Staff were very friendly though and offered my partner a free desert over her disappointing main dish.
J. W.
Fantastic selection of beers. Staff were friendly and chatty. We didn't eat any food but looked good what was coming out of the kitchen. Need to add some veggie dishes on the menu.
w. c.
Great food, dog friendly, staff friendly and helpful. Great range of beers on tap.
C. H.
Cold beer and hot food, what more can you ask for?
C. P.
Massive space inside and outs8de in sheltered area. Sanitizer and staff checking everyone is safe. Lovely meal and cider. $28 for huge mexican Parma.
N. B.
Quite disappointed with the food. We had a burger and seafood penne. Pasta was overcooked and burger was flavourless. Most tables were dirty so we had to ask the waiter to clean up before we could sit anywhere. Good local beers though!
E. M.
Although it was New Years Eve and the Great Ocean Brewhouse was booked out, the staff accommodated our table of seven in the bar area.
There are several choices of eating areas including a lovely outdoor area that overlooks the park across the main street.
We ordered the Mexican Parma x 3, the Chicken Parma x 2 the ceaser salad and a kids cheeseburger and chips. All meals were delicious and if you like spicy we would recommend the Mexican Parma.
The staff were friendly and made ordering easy, there were multiple sports to view on the televisions in the bar area, and music playing to add to the atmosphere. There were a variety of ages and groups throughout the venue. Overall a great relaxed, fun and enjoyable venue. If you would like a table I would recommend booking a table in advance.
B. T. P.
Amazing selection of beers with a variety of styles across local and international breweries. Menu is on the pricey side for a pub meal, but ordered the standard parma and the Mexican parma. Both parmas were flavourful and tasty. Definitely worth a visit, and ideally leave the car at home as there are some great brews to try here
H. J.
Nice craft beer brewery but I would avoid the food. They don’t even know the basics of preparing mussels...
s. R.
Good beer
friendly staff
Rooms in excellent condition
Careful with initiative staying without booking, the cheap rooms are faster out of order than expected. If I have booked would have saved 30$
Nice beach
A. H.
Very good food at the southernmost pub in mainland Australia, with decent prices.
H.
Great atmosphere. Awesome staff. Fast service and great drink options. Amazing Sticky Date Pudding huge portion definitely worth it for $8.90 A+
C. P.
Definitely the place to eat. Great food, great drinks & great atmosphere. Everything you could want.
M. D. T.
We went here for dinner, the service was great and the staff are very friendly and easy going. We had the Parma and the Angus burger. Parma was great salad was nicely dressed and not sopping wet and the chips were good overall 4.5 star Parma and the Angus burger was just as great and the onion rings “DELICIOUS”!! Could be paying these guys a few more visits over the weekend..
B. L.
Very nice staff. Food is okay but not great. Portions are huge. Good for a quick dinner. They do have an awesome amount of beers which make up for the food
M. G.
The craft brews on offer - Prickly Moses - are all made locally. In a refreshing change, the tasting house out the back is a local produce supermarket, including beers from competitor breweries. Their idea is that all craft beer is good beer, and it should all be celebrated.
The pub itself is pretty standard, transitioning from local TAB to swish bistro by the end of the bar. Food is priced for the tourists, and serving size is ordinary. Ingredients seemed fresh, though.
Head back to the tasting house for a takeaway 2L growler before you go.
น. น.
Price of steak we get very chewy and not nice I have my Angus scotch and also eye filled
I. P.
Great vibe, friendly neighborhood pub with a great selection of food and drinks. The food was okay. There are several fire places inside keeping it nice and warm. Should definitely stop by when in Apollo Bay.
A. S.
Deborah and I had the most delicious sea food platter we have had in a long time. The staff were very courteous and service was excellent. Recommend the Brewhouse to anybody visiting Apollo Bay.
J. H.
Fantastic place!! Great beers and food and awesome staff. So many different and amazing beers, gin and wines to taste. Incredible!
M. M.
Absolutely superb porterhouse, crazy range of beer and wine. Service was amazing. So good.
J. L.
An unfortunately average establishment weighed down by the lack of quality competition. Despite the relatively few tables waiting for food and the ease of preparation of the standard pub-grub offerings (e.g. fish and chips and chicken parm), our order took 30 minutes to arrive, which was far too long. While the battered fish and chicken parm were passable, the chips were drowned in salt and rather unpalatable. Given the lack of options, the food is passable - perhaps ask the kitchen to go easy on the salt.
M. P.
Great placefor trying out local craft beers. The place is also a bottle shop with a huge selection of beers wines and spirits. Highly recommended.
T. P.
Great pub with a fine selection of local beers and above average pub grub. Grab a glass of the Otway Chainsaw ale and take a seat in one of the comfortable lounge chairs. This is living! And go the Bayers!
L. F.
Obviously a popular pub but could be much funkier and less TAB. Craft beers served on tap, free pot if you join friends of GORBH. Accommodation small, noisy, overpriced. Clean throughout but backpacker like with shared bathrooms but without any kitchen facilities etc. Overall disappointing for Great Ocean Road.
P. B.
Outstanding pub food, friendly staff and clean. Who could want more. My venison burger was tasty and if anything too big. May be back tomorrow night.
C.
Big Brewhouse with great tasting beer. I particularly liked the Apollo Bay brew. Fairly standard pub grub menu. We had it all to ourselves early in the week.
I. &. D. F.
A delightful spot to stop for a bite to eat and taste some interesting craft beers 😋. We were there on a lovely Sunday afternoon and it wouldn't have been hard to stay and enjoy the ambience. Excellent!!
Z. D.
Great selection of beers!! Delicious sour on tap. Fun vibe and a pool table. Awesome place — would highly recommend
S. M.
Soon as you walk in there's a great atmosphere. Plenty of different beers on tap to try. Looks like a great place on trivia night. (Thurs) sures beats the Apollo bay hands down. Will be back.
M. L.
I had the porterhouse steak and it was cooked to medium rare perfection
Husband had mexican chicken parmi and it was amazing.
Must try forbidden cider and otway stout.
Friendly bar staff and quick service.
B. D.
Great place for lunch, dogs welcome on enclosed deck/beer garden. Brewhouse craft beer range outstanding. Black panther dark ale is superb.
B. G. B.
One of my favorite stops on the entire continent. And that's not hyperbole.
All of the best beers I had on the trip were in this location (and I think all were from Prickly Moses.) The shirt I bought from the store behind there is one of my favorite take-homes from the journey.
C. M.
Great beer with a fantastic range to choose from. Friendly knowledgeable service. Disappointed that the kitchen was completely shut (not even bar food) despite being really busy.
C. W.
We showed up just at closing time, but we were seated fast and ordered Nepalese Lamb and Aussie BBQ Parma. Both were amazing and the fries were addictive.
B. A.
Came for dinner had a steak chips and salad and a Mexican Parma chips and salad. Meals were great quick service and good atmosphere. Friendly staff and good service. Only downfall I could find was Parma could have been a bit bigger.
P. C.
What a great place for a wedding reception. I had spiced arancini balls followed by a perfectly cooked chicken mignon with vegetables. This with power outages during the evening. The staff were fantastic to get it all done under the circumstances.
P. W.
Nice meal & the beers are great . I drank the summer ale very good dro
J. E.
Lovely meals, great service and the fireplace adds to the warm atmosphere
D. K.
Wonderful atmosphere.
Open fires.
Great range of beers on tap.
Excellent menu.
Clean loos. (Always a plus)
J. L.
This is the business. Fabulous, proper beers on tap and an unspoilt pub vibe where you can great food, play pool and chill out. This is regional Victoria at its best!
D. F.
Good value pub food as it should be done. Heaps better value than the one down the road. Great atmosphere terrific SVC and really nice food, Thanks
P. Z.
The service was impressive, we only had to wait no more than 15 minutes and the food was ready for a family of five. The dinner was huge and delicious. We'll definitely be back next time.
D. O.
Great beer selection and good food, friendly staff. Rooms are simple, but clean and comfortable. Will return when ever in Apollo Bay again!
e. t.
Great brew house on Apollo Bay selling some excellent locally brewed beer. The outdoor beer garden has nice views. Highly recommended!
B. C.
Quality Beers, Ciders, Stouts, basically anything i wanted to try. Only lost out on a star because it appeared understaffed at the time we were there. School holidays and was also a Saturday around lunch. Waited a long time for Beers but it was worth the wait
W. W.
Not bad. Could do with a freshen up. Sells heaps of local brewery beers on tap, food was nice. Standard pub fare.
S. C. A.
Food was great, service was excellent, the music band was awesome! We ended up there due to hunger but we stayed because of the atmosphere and the wide selection of drinks 🍻
S. D.
Great vegetarian options, I had the pumpkin and cashew curry. Generous servings and beautiful meals all round. Friendly staff.
J. B.
Meals were very big. A bit pricey. I had roast lamb. Looked like it had been pre sliced and reheated which was a bit of a shame. Stsff were friendly. Had free wifi. Ambiance was good with fireplaces.
L. G.
Enormous range of beer on tap, great staff, reasonable prices. Did not have a meal here but I had a few drinks and thought it was a really cool vibe with great beers on offer.
J. D.
Best pub option in town. Lots of seating (though outside can fill up quick in summer). Great options for kids and really good selection of brews.
N.
Decent selection of beers on tap, including some local ones. Very helpful staff. Good food with decent sized portions.
B. P.
Four of us had dinner, beers and wine on a Monday night. The food was generous and tasty, the choice of beers on tap, excellent. I'd recommend it to anyone.
H. P.
Good pub with big pub meals. Look out for their daily specials too.
D. P.
Good food and location.
Was very relaxing untill some parents dumped there kids on the air hockey table.
Please move the air hockey table inside or ban morons.
t. o.
Friendly staff, happy to help with a smile . Have been very busy, but still able to get a table, and the meals are very nice and a warm and inviting fire and great people, from the Great Ocean Rd.
Great place to eat and drink with the family , and kid's 😊
My friend and I have had a lovely time, sad to leave 🏨⛱🌅🍜🍝
E. S.
Decent pub meals, loads of beers on tap, knowledgeable staff, their tasting room was also a great experience. Will be back for sure
T. P.
The Tastes of the Region shop has a great selection of local craft beer, wine, cheese, honey and other produce. The tasting paddles are great value so you can get a good idea of what you like best before buying beer or wine.
G. E.
Roast of the day was turkey. Came on a plate jam-packed with perfectly cooked vegetables. And because I have to have a low-sodium diet the chef gave me red wine jus instead of gravy. I so appreciate it when chefs suggest options instead of taking the line of least resistance. My meal was sbsolutely delicious. My companions had the chicken Parma and grilled fish with potato roesti both of which looked great and were reported to be equally delicious. We had no room for dessert. The service was friendly and the ambience very pleasant too.
I. C.
Nice food and good beers
A. D.
Food is delicious, awesome selection of local beers on tap
D. B.
Absolutely outstanding steak dinner cooked perfectly. I've paid twice as much for a steak half as good as this.
B. H.
Very good beers and it's in a really nice part of the world. Food was decent as well 👌 definitely worth a trip if you're in the area.
T.
Great venue for authentic local brews without views. 🤣. Try the Black Panther.....yum. Pity development saw some clown think it was a great idea to push the beach out. Google the original photos of the Ballarat Hotel for some nostalgia!
M. S.
Nice pub in an unexpectedly nice place Apollo Bay. Good beers/ ales plus (totally unexpected) one of the best rums in the world: The Angostura 1919.
B. S.
The staff very friendly, they were very busy. Perhaps make a booking especially now with the school holidays
A. C.
Very good food and friendly service
J. C.
Very nice ambience, and great service. They've got outdoor seating and indoor seating. Really good variety of beers too :)
D. W.
Pho had plenty of meat, but needed more chilli.
K. T.
Decent deal on meals and drinks considering how far away from city you are. Atmosphere good, people friendly and service is great. Enjoy
J. L.
Beautiful food! Good atmosphere and nice range of local products! Loved it. Will be going to the Brewhouse next time i am in Apollo bay!!
W. K.
Nice food, great beer and huge selection! Nice indoor and outdoor areas. Friendly staff and more than reasonable prices for the location.
D. E.
Quick stop to try a beer. Huge selection. Good thing bartender was helpful.
Sadly not stopping longer for a meal. We were rather early so wasnt busy yet
d. l.
Good food, lively atmosphere, great choice if beers and reasonably priced
K. M.
Stumbled upon this place on a road trip and ate some stonebaked pizza, it was delicious. 2 veggie options which were both v good and the staff were nice.
M. M.
Great food and good selection of craft beers and local wines. They have plenty of space, staff is very friendly, so definitely recommend to visit!
E. H.
Just had a pint here to wash away the road dust but the place had a good vibe. There were a couple of small groups having a roaring good time inside so we sat outside and it was very pleasant.
S. F.
Staff nice and friendly, food was great, and great open fire. Will be back🙂
E. S.
Burger and schnitzel were great but the calamari I would not recommend since it was pricey for its size and not crispy. Good lively atmosphere with live music
D. K.
Nice beer selection and tasty food (most of things that we've ordered were really nice).
D. B.
Great food and friendly staff. Parma night so was very busy but still managed to fit us in. Beer and ciders were excellent.
S. H.
Best fish and chips I had during our time on Australia. And, it was served with a side green salad...novel concept...something other than coleslaw!
P. O.
The Tues special Permit was generous and tasty!!
Bistro staff were very helpful and friendly and worked as a professional team.... I loved the house made Apple cider and would recommend a place to come ...."Parmie". (autocorrect gave a permit ).
K. H.
Had high expectations for this brewery but it was just a pub, meals were good, but just pub meals, a bit noisy, kitchen closed quite early for a Easter weekend.
K. H.
