Brunch menu only review. Brunch is served till 2pm. Food was hot and well presented. Tasty and plentiful. Ate outside on a cold day but plentiful out door heating. Our table had the heaters on but other tables were asked or requested the heaters turned on. Happily and quickly done by the greeting girl/lady. In the end it was really quite warm even though the air temp was 8 degrees. Service was a bit standard, the waitress appeared tired and the waiter clearly was new. No problems with new staff given covid however possibly more training might have made us all feel less awkward. Both brunch menu meals were tasty and served at 1pm. As far as standard Brunch items goes they were both very good, see photos. Food takes about 30 to 40 minutes on a Sunday afternoon. Drinks served within 15 minutes and an extra mineral water served within 5 minutes. We went down the road the day prior as we arrived at ludlow at 2.10pm so no Brunch. That was fine and we made sure to go earlier the following day. Expected 4 stars given the location, weekend and number of patrons and was happy to receive a rock solid 4 stars for the meals and seating. Service after the seating was slow. ****

Sunday January 2nd 2022. Disappointed. From start service was slow (waiters were fine themselves) just seemed like not enough staff (yes, hospitality crisis I know). Couple of champagnes to start (Veuve Cliquot) - seemed bottle was opened two days ago (no bubbles). Other cocktails at > $20 were not quite cold enough. Took forever to take order for food (got several share plates) and then took forever again to take mains order. Food itself was fine. Again, wait staff were pleasant but seemed run off feet. Would probably return but not tomorrow

Four of us came to Ludlow Bar & Dining Room on a Monday for lunch. We were promptly seated outside and given physical menus (this was a nice change from the usual 'scan-the-QR-code-and-order-online' method). We ordered two chicken parma's, gnocchi and burrata, as well as drinks. The customer service was great (eg: our waitress took our whole order without needing to write it down) and the food was delicious. Thank you very much to Ludlow Bar & Dining Room. We all very much enjoyed our dining experience here.

It was our second year visiting for our annual work christmas party and I was again extremely impressed. I was communicating with Beatrice to organise the event and she was so helpful and accommodating to our group. She made sure to outline all the details and a time frame for confirming all details. The venue has lovely views and due to the size of our group we were given a little area to ourselves with access to the inside bars / bathrooms. It made it feel really special and secluded and worked well for our guests. The food was well timed and the service was lovely, they worked well with our merry group to have everything run smoothly. The meals were delicious, and we were not short of food. The only niggle I had was my stickydate pudding which wasn't as good as I had remembered it to be, a little overdone, it was still enjoyed nonetheless. The venue also allowed us to stay on past our allocated timeslot which did not go unnoticed. I want to thank the whole team at Ludlow for another wonderful year :)

The venue looks good, outdoor terrace and plenty of space indoors. Table service was a little haphazard. One staff member didn't know if one section belonged to the same venue or not, were sat at a table that wasn't set up and I had to find the cutlery for the table. Food when it came was okay, tasted good without being exceptional by way of presentation. Coffee was alright.

Been twice now for the $20 lunch special (burger + fries, fish + chips or salad/pasta of the day) and a drink. Being allergic to wine and beer I appreciate the house spirit option. Burger was good, chips were nice but really liked the pasta I had. Service was pretty poor first time but second time was much better - nice setting on the waterfront and good vibes especially on a sunny day so overall would recommend.

The wait to get our meals was much longer than expected though, but we ordered a bunch of sides. If you don't want all your dishes to come at once, you probably need to tell them.

Was in the city for a show and needed to find somewhere to eat dinner beforehand. This place was fairly full and looked just as nice as the others along Southwark.. we were taken inside and placed at a table that children would eat at. Waited over 1.5 hours for meals that were basic and don't require a long time to prep or cook. The food was nice but the music in the place was awful an it was loud like a nightclub disco , you couldn't talk it was a odd place and customer service didn't really exist. Decided to visit for dinner at short notice after exploring Melbourne for the day. Initially decided to try the fish and chips, but wanted to know if the fish was fresh and where it had been sourced. Was initially informed by the waitress it was fresh only to be told later it wasn't and had been imported from New Zealand. As a result I decided to change my order to the chicken parmigiana which sadly was very average. I'm not sure why you import your fish from New Zealand when we have an abundance of fresh fish in Australia. You are in the perfect position to showcase our amazing produce so why you would import it?

Okay, So this might actually be the best place in Melbourne to get steak. The steak is very tender and juicy and the sauce is the best. There is an amazing range of food to pick from and the restaurant is on the Yarra River having a very nice view of the city. (Make sure you sit outside!) The staff are very nice, warm and welcoming and the atmosphere is upbeat and contemporary. I wish I had a photo of the meal but trust me, this is probably going to be the best steak you've had. The price is reasonable and the price to quality ratio is really high (good) For desert, I had a sticky date pudding which was one of the best I've ever had (and it's my favourite dessert). Honestly, the dessert could be a little warmer, but that might be the wind cooling it down because I was outside. After we had the dessert, we ordered a cheese platter which was also really good quality but the price was a little bit on the expensive side. All in all, this is one of the best steak places in Melbourne and will definitely be coming back. Thank you all for an amazing night and wish to see you soon. :)

My girlfriend and I quite enjoyed this bar/cafe. It's situated in a pretty good spot with unobstructed views of parts of the city. When we went it wasn't crammed with people which was nice, but maybe on a weekend it would be busier. The food was tasty and reasonably priced, I would have liked a few more chips with my fish and chips though if I'm honest. The staff are quite attentive and reliable which is nice. The toilets are easy to find and have always been clean whenever I've been in. Overall definitely worth the visit.

A funny start when I ordered an English breakfast tea and got a pot of hot water instead. Waitress had a good laugh and quickly remedied the situation. We were attracted by the 20$ Steak + Pot deal, but it was sold out for the evening. I would expect them to remove the sign. We have decided to dine in there anyway, despite the mixed reviews, knowing not to expect too much. The kids meal of schnitzel and fries, the schnitzel was pretty dry and dark. I guess it was overcooked. The wagyu burger was actually good The sirloin streak was cooked fine but it was a little bland. The peppercorn sauce with it was strange and the pile of zucchini and tomato halves in some cream felt unrelated. When we asked the waiter for the bill and a box for takeout, he said something like "We don't allow customers to take food, because they warm it and might get sick". Seriously? You state to your customers that you don't trust the quality of your products? I can decide for myself. After getting the bill we were told that someone will be in a moment with us, but it never happened. After long minutes we went to the bar to pay.

Lucy is certainly a great asset to the Ludlow and was one of the key highlights that we experienced whilst dining, I made note the meal I was presented was unfortunately a little small portioned, however she then recommended the dessert and it totally payed off. We celebrated my wife's 50th birthday in the private dining room which seated the 12 of us very comfortably, there was plenty of room around for the table for us to move around & chat, plus a separate outdoor area just for our table which was great. We were all extremely happy with the service and the quality of food, everyone was very impressed. All the food was presented beautifully and tasted as good as it looked. The waiter we had on the night was outstanding, he really made us feel relaxed & welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Overall I have nothing negative to say and it was one of the best nights out we have had for a while. I would have no hesitation in recommending Ludlow to any of my family friends.

Monday Steak night is definitely a night to remember! Though the steak was only 20 AUD per person, it was a high quality one, that's for sure. The steak can be chosen to how well or rare you want it to be, ranging from only medium rare or medium well. The steak was juicy,tender and melt in your mouth deliciousness, with the sauce bringing out the hint of freshness in the meat. Complete with a side of salad and crispy, crunchy,soft fries,this Monday Steak night steak special is definitely a not-miss if your taste buds are in for a treat. Who knows, you might even get a glimpse of the Yara River if you're sitting outdoors with fire warmth comfort :P Also, don't be afraid to ask one of the friendly staff for information or to have your picture taken. Overall, 5 star rating plus!

While it’s rather shambolic to find and use the wheelchair accessible entrances and wend your way through the Diagon Alley type innards, Ludlow has a great menu and the staff are agreeable and personable. There’s also a roomy wheelchair accessible toilet which, if it had a shelf to put one’s handbag on, would bump this review up to 5 stars. Why women’s bathrooms never have shelving to put a bag on or even a hook or three for coats etc, never fails to make me wonder why men are allowed to design such bathrooms :-) But I digress. My friend and I decided, rather than ordering two mains, that we would instead order the red wine and beef meat pie main and three of the entrees and share the lot. Our entrees were the popcorn chicken, fat chips (because of course why not!) and three of the ham and cheese croquettes (because if a croquette is on the menu it should never not be ordered!). All of the meals were tasty but my complaint is that the three sauces for the entrees all lacked thickness and flavour. My dining partner also thought that the crust on the pie was too thick however, I disagree and think it was perfect as a vehicle for holding the delicious pulled beef filling. Out of all the dishes, the croquettes were our favourite as they were very, very flavoursome. I would’ve eaten all three except I was kind and saved one for my table friend. That is the main reason why I actually prefer dining alone :-)

Didn’t taste great anyway. Maybe if the waiter actually wrote down our order instead of trying to memorise it things might have been different. Chips were over cooked. Ate half and left the rest. Probably wouldn’t come back, mains menu is pretty limited. Staff were friendly, water replaced frequently.

Once when I was there at night, there were a bunch of mice around outside, but that can't really be helped, and I don't think it's Ludlow's fault. I only say this to warn anyone super afraid of mice, and suggest they sit indoors instead. That said, there are some tall stools outside, so you're pretty safe anyway

Vistited this bar over the weekend solely for their $10 cocktails (5 different ones to choose from) which they offer from 8-11pm. The live DJ was spinning some great house music on the Saturday night and the bar itself is laid out pretty nicely, tons of seating for casual or intimate moods. My only gripe with the place is that the cocktails took a while to come out (for obvious reasons, everyone’s there for the $10 deal), just be advised if you want to keep sipping throughout the night to maybe order a few at a time so that they come out accordingly.
