This place is great for groups, particularly groups with kids. The band is entertaining but so loud difficult to speak to person sitting 2 down from you. Have a good variety of drinks except they do not serve coffee and I'm always amazed whenever I go to a restaurant in Melbourne that doesn't serve coffee. And yet we had to wait 25 minutes for 2 of our drinks (apple juice, sparkling). 5 of us shared pretzels, mac 'n' cheese bites and chips. Then 2 vegetarians had salads (very generous serving size) while 1 meat eater had schnitzel and the other 2 shared tasting platter (3 types of sausage, pork knuckle, chicken schnitzel and roast pork). Husband said really nice. None of us had dessert but they offer strudel, ice cream and chocolate brownie. The place is enormous and I can imagine Oktoberfest it is packed!

Fantastic time and the staff were highly attentive that we were well taken care off. Meals also came out quickly and you can't go wrong with their beer menu, although ordering from the table using the app gave you less beer selections as a few too many said "sold out". Worth the visit. Good service, wait times good. Great view along the Yarra River. I got the schnitzel and a side of mashed. All of good portion and I struggled to finish but wasn't going to be defeated.

I had a delicious and giant Löwenschnitzel with generous amount of crispy chips, very little coleslaw. Upon the recommendation of the friendly and attentive Jake, I ordered a 4 Pines Kolsch beer (starting from 500ml!), which is quite light and refreshing. Friendly service and great food, the only problem is people started to get drunk and rowdy and my old friend found it impossible to hear me talking so we had to leave. We visited the restrooms before leaving. He told me there was a vomit in men's toilet. It would be a five star venue for people who don't mind the noise and able to tolerate some drunken behaviour. Also the 4.5% surcharge is something you may want to be aware of. I have to thank Jake for taking care of us, hope you do get some good tips tonight for your professionalism.

We went to the Brauhaus on a Friday night and ended up having a great time. The place is huge allowing the patrons to sit spaced out and with the live music it felt like we were truly in Germany. The food and beer was pretty good as well as the warm service. It took a while for the orders to come through but I imagine this would be the case for a Friday night. We look forward to visiting again in the near future

An excellent night; the food was great. One star less because it didn't make sense to have most wheat beers not available (although on the menu). I would call it almost a South German essential, and I was disappointed that initially, none was on sale, magically later, one of them was available to order, although I was told at first, they ran out of that beer.

Me and my partner have been twice in the last 2 weeks for dinner, and on both occasions were waited by Calista - she remembered us from the previous time! She is a courteous young lady, making sure we were satisfied with our meals, taking away empty dishes promptly. If you dine at Munich Brauhaus, I can only hope you are waited by Calista!

Pretzels! Don't bother trying their strudel, but liked the pretzels 🥨 tried the lemon shandy and was truly lovely. Ordered through the qr code on the table and drink took 15 minutes to come so would recommend just ordering at the bar to get your drink immediately.

I've been here a couple of years running for various work Christmas things. Always happy to accommodate a big group, the food is fantastic (even for a veggie like me!), and a great variety of drinks. Recommend grabbing a table outside if possible.

This used to be one of the restaurants that was a happy place to go to. They had loud music, impromptu cheers, sudden mini performances, so when I dropped in to order some take away, it was somewhat sad to see it that quiet, but also somewhat comforting to still see them operating. Despite all that their food quality has remained excellent and delicious, with staff who still exude happiness and optimism. Looking forward to a future when this returns to being one of the places we go to celebrate something special, or just a place I'd want to take a friend to for a joyous night out again.

We love coming here for German beer, the excellent beer selection & friendly service. We generally order Franzikaner Dunkel (5.0%) & Paulaner Premium (4.9%) from their draught beer selection. This time we decided to try their food. We ordered the following: - Uber Schnitzel - Crumbed chicken breast, rocket, parmesan, sundried tomatoes, parmesan & fries - Chicken Wings - Half a kilo of wings tossed in one of our signature sauces and served with veggie sticks and blue-cheese dip. It comes with a choice of Buffalo Hot Sauce or BBQ Sauce. I selected the Buffalo hot sauce as I am a big fan of anything spicy! Both chicken dishes were well cooked and tender. Definitely coming back for more beer & food!

She gave recommendations and was happy to accommodate any request. We got the sharing platter for two and it could have definitely fed 3. Everything was such good quality and perfectly cooked. Seems like a great spot for big groups, a with it's long tables.

A very lovely place to visit, a must-see in Melbourne. For drinkers - You definitely need to try their massive jugs of beer, very reasonably priced. Massive space, always a seat for any group size; with lovely German tunes in the background. Food portions are very generous, especially for two. Recommended dishes are the Calamari and Chicken Wings with Buffalo Hot Sauce (Nice and hot). The servers are very friendly and accommodating, our server Ruchi was above and beyond when it came to hospitality. Would definitely go back again.

Munich has been my favourite catch up spot/ celebration spot and just a place you’d find my friends and I having the time of our lives. The full credit for this goes to the staff. They’re some of the friendliest, nicest people who always make sure we have the best time. I love the cocktails they offer- especially the strawberry margarita, that has my heart! Special shout-out to Gautham who has always been there whenever we visited, he ensures we’re well taken care of and have left leaving very happy. The band is especially fun and so engaging as well. Must visit!

Stopped in here for a few beers and a meal before an AFL game at Marvel stadium with a friend. Our server Sid was super polite and friendly and took care of any questions we had, was attentive to our needs and always smiling. Between us, we shared the Munich tasting platter. Everything was delicious. the highlights were the pork belly and knuckle. They were seriously tender, melt in your mouth and well seasoned. The sausages were next level.For $34.50 per person, it was plenty of food for two hungry boys and the beers (Munich Lager) were delicious! Highly recommend and I will be back!

Service could do with improvement. We had a booking but no table was set for us. We located a table ourselves and informed the staff. We were asked to leave the front bar later in the evening, as it was booked for a group. Upon leaving, the customer who booked, informed us that he only wanted a table, not the whole room. Communication between staff needs improving. Lastly! I approached the bar, only to be told, bar is closed, we can't process a sale. Not 2 minutes later, a member of staff went ahead in serving a couple of patrons, so I decided to wait to be served. After the staff member downed a shot with the patrons, he put through payment and went on his merry way, completely ignoring me. Unprofessional and immature members of staff. Manners are free!!

Tonight we came in to celebrate a friend's birthday. While it was a few of us, we had an exceptional experience and a memorable night. Great food, great beer, good ambience and view (outdoor seating gives you the view of the Yarra river, heated in winter). Absolutely love the unique craft beers available on tap, especially the German wheat beers. Food portions are generous and reasonably priced. One of the best pork bellies I've had, tender and juicy with delicious crackling. The pretzel is a perfect appetizer and companion to beer. Staff are friendly and helpful. Our server was Henry, and he was very accomodating and witty. Definitely will become a regular place for going with friends, family, celebrations and on dates. Can get quite full on the weekends, so recommend making a booking.

After a long morning shopping at DFO, we were looking for a place of refuge for our tired legs. We stumbled in, ready to swap shopping bags for steins and were greeted with the most fantastic service from Henry. I really loved the food and drinks here but oh my gosh the band was extremely loud! I get that it's meant to be a loud place but we were screaming at each other over the tables to be heard. I think you can still achieve the same vibe and just bring it down a couple of decibels, or have a dedicated dining area. Came to Munich Brauhaus with a large group for a friends birthday. The service was fantastic - quick and easy to order and everything came out quickly. Unfortunately there were a couple of let downs - On the website AND advertised in the bathroom stalls was a deal for a bottomless set menu for $79pp - when we ordered we were told it now costs $99pp. Management should have honoured the advertised price and need to be better at updating their ads in future. As well as this, the bottomless cocktails offered were very sweet and had very little alcohol in them. Fortunately the night was saved by the great service and atmosphere. I would say the bottomless is worth it for the large quantity of yummy food but The cocktails need improving. The friends in our group who drank beer were very happy so might be worth sticking to the beer!

Went there for a private event. We were seated in a private dining area. Outside they had a love band churning out some nice numbers. Would have enjoyed it more if the same music was played through the speakers in the PDR. All of the food looked delicious. Personally I had ordered for the German Sausages, I was a little disappointed with the size of the Sausages, however overall it was good. Rose single handedly took care of all of us and she was truly nice. Look forward to coming back and enjoying more often.

Awesome place to come if you have a large group. Food is beautiful, didn't have to wait that long either. I'd recommend to book in advance as there will be a queue. They host party nights (fun and games, such as limbo), it can get a little loud though. Staff are fantastic, and they can do split bills as well to an extent.

We went on a Saturday night which is busy understandably. Considering how busy the waitstaff were they still delivered the food to our table as quick as possible and were very kind. 19th of November 21 was my first day back in the city after a long lockdown. Munich Brauhaus, was the site of one of my favourite team's Christmas breakup back in 2014. I was apprehensive about coming back. With new friends in tow, I decided to go back and see if this place lived up to the nostalgia. First up, their app is ridiculous. That thing is so buggy, I'd skip it all together and just order at the bar. Besides, it will give you a chance to interact with people! And man, speaking of people. I had the best bartender that night - Sid! If you're reading this Sid, thank you so much. You made the night enjoyable by catering cocktails to my tastes. And those old-fashioneds were phenomenal! That man is worth his weight in gold. Their food was good. But I think the platter wasn't quite enough. I guess I'd just have to come here again and update my review based purely on the food!

The queues are horrendous and it's hard to find somewhere to sit. The queue to get in was out the door and the bar queue 20 minutes (I nearly missed happy hour). The staff work quickly, it was the sheer volume that was the problem. Because the line is so long people get multiple drinks at once, which makes the queue problem worse.

First time visiting Melbourne's Munich Brauhaus. I've been to their other locations in Sydney multiple times. The roast pork belly I had this time around wasn't the best, it was a bit drier in comparison to the ones I've had in Sydney. The serving size is huge as is expected from this restaurant so if you're on a diet, their platter for one is enough for two people. It's only enjoyable if you like a really loud bustling restaurant. Not bad otherwise.

I personally really love this restaurant. As you may know I only do reviews of gluten free restaurants and here you can get some dishes that are gluten free even though not advertised in the menus. My always fav is the pork knuckle which can be gf if you ask, (they will put the gravy sauce aside, however it is not gf). this dish with a stein of nice cider will make your night. Also pork belly is insanely good, like the knuckle, really crispy crackling skin and soft beautiful meat. Some of the sausages are gf too, however the chicken schnitzel isn't. Also the happy hour is very interesting, runs from 4pm until 7pm and the prices are halved, plus 1 $ per chicken wing, gluten free and delicious. Really good entertaining but loud if you plan on a date. Unfortunately no gf beers available, just cider, wine and spirits.

Also you can enjoy real German food and enjoy the folklore from Bavaria. Fully recommended. Third time to visit but was pleasantly surprised to find that happy hours last until 10pm on every Tuesday ($5 for certain beers and ciders). Was also the first time to be seated on the attic, which has a nice atmosphere but the heaters were a bit too strong. Food was nice and generous in portion as always. Munich Brauhaus has great food at a good price with fast service. The Sunday deal that they have on at the moment for kids makes for a great day out. Kids get a free meal with a paying adult and then they have face painting, balloon animals, live entertainment where the kids can win prizes and a baby animal farm. The kids were asking to come back before they had even finished eating. It made for a lovely lunch. It is great to find somewhere that is so family friendly in the city.

I've been to their Sydney restaurant and the Melbourne one blows it out of the water. Situated next to the Yara river it's already ahead of a dingy basement, the added airflow certainly helps as the odor of stale sweat and cabbage I'd come to expect was far more muted. The beer is good and the service is fine, if slightly brisk. The food is a bit of a mixed bag, certainly comes out quick which is a plus but the taste can leave a little to desire on some of the menu items. My friends I was dining with enjoyed their food, I found personally enjoyed 2/3 of the sausages I had but the Frankfurt was underwhelming so I can't recommend it. Chewy skin and bland centre.

If I wanted to eat and drink myself into a coma I would go here. Great selection of German beers and other goodies on tap. The food will actually make you speak with a German accent. Make sure you are hungry though because for the most part these are not light meals. The staff are great and generally know their stuff. On a sunny day sitting outside with views of the Yarra and the city, and an ice cold bevvy, it's hard to beat!
