Comments of Northcote Public Golf Course.
G. K.
It's a golf course and a public one. So all you do called locals who want to turn it into to a park, go 50 metres and walk along the Merri.
R. K.
Gorgeous vistas and green panoramas of grass and trees. Only open to non-members during COVID 19. Fortunately I live within 5 kilometres so I've been walking an hour a day there. However, today as I was walking through the opening from Mayer Park a Darebin Council truck and a worker were there. I assumed he was enlarging the opening in the fence which was made to allow the public to enter. After a leisurely stroll, I made my way back to the opening. It had been sealed. Many people like myself were upset that we were not warned by this man, or signs were not displayed informing the public that the golf course could no longer be used. Restrictions are still in place, so why close it now? My walk turned out to be an extra half an hour as I had to walk to Beavers Road. Very bad way to encourage people to join as members once COVID 19 Restrictions are eased. Other than that, I love this Golf Course

A real hidden gem. 9 holes to test any golfer. Sadly there's a couple of clowns on council trying to turn established sports venues into expensive to maintain, parkland.
J. C.
Nice little suburban 9-holer.
$15 unlimited after 1pm mid-week is a great deal to take advantage of!
R. E.
9 hole course, lots of green and nice views. Nice staff and plenty of tee times.
The holes are a good mix of 3, and par 5. Seems to be lots of groups of twos so be prepared to be overtaken if bigger group.
No ride on buggies that I've seen.
Have been twice now and is my favourite course in the area.
T. H.
Wonderful suburban 9 hole golf course, well kept greens and fairways on an undulating terrain. Great for beginners and intermediate golfers and the green fees are very modest.
My daughter plays in the 'junior tiger' golf clinics on a Saturday which I thoroughly recommend.
R. C.
Nice and simple 9 hole course. Nothing fancy but has a good vibe.
M. T.
Great Place, Great For A Day Out, And Peaceful Place For A Game Of Golf
T. B.
A pleasant walk in the park with the family, but really wish I could have brought along my golf clubs. Hopefully soon. Course looked really nice, primed ready for play except for bunkers, which will need some work and more fresh sand.
M. R.
Great little 9 holer
M. G.
A beautiful little corner behind the Mayer Park soccer pitch “entrance” … 😎
W. G.
Great place for a sunset beer, only sat on the fairway and was disappointed to see people on the greens/tees. Cleaned up and you wouldn't have known I was there, but I'm sure it would still be an issue for some. Didn't cut any fencing. Cheers

Great experience, good to have golf back. Very busy as we arrived and left.
Very handy having a golf course that is conveniently local to Northcote. And lots of parkland surrounding the golf course perimeter for a stroll and picnic
r. s.
Love it, great community sporting venue.
N. P.
One of my favourite public courses. Nothing that will blow you away but a fun 9 holes for a cheeky Saturday whack.
A. B.
Amazing to be able to use this green space! Keep it open. Golf courses are not a good use of open space in the city, available to a just a few for a one specific use.
F. i.
Great little course, beautiful fairways for looking at while searching the rough for your ball. Decent challenge and very well maintained
S. G.
Course in good nick for a nine hole local public
B. D.
Never too busy and always a pleasant game.
B. C.
Get rid of the golf course and open it up to the northcote residents as parkland
P. C.
This is a hilly, tight course winding it's way around the Merri Creek, with plenty of challenges for the better player, & many options for the less skilled to get the ball onto the greens. Not usually busy so a quick round, or take your time. Lots of birdlife around the creek to look at & listen to. The pro shop staff are very friendly & helpful.
P. O.
Good fun course for what it is. Some cracks on the fairways int his hot weather but most are not in play. Nice simple short 9 hole for a bit of fun.
G. M.
A great little place to have a hit, one of the few in the Northern Suburbs open to the public, which is why it should remain a golf course!
D. P.
Short course, 9 holes, but pretty quiet on a Sunday morn and in reasonable condition. Nothing exceptional but what can you expect given the location :)
J. D. N.
Pros: Great beginner golf course. Staff and fellow golfers are relaxed and friendly.Very Diverse course for a 9 hole golf course. Hole 6 is great.
Cons: Hole 8 is just awful.
j. c.
Great course to play, has improved over the years! Highly recommend a round
D. Y.
Was here for the Junior Tigers tournament with my family. The fairways and green were in good condition. Well run event. Was a memorable one for us.
T. B.
If you are looking for a cheap quick 9 hole course then this is it.
Not overly difficult but not the easiest course but easy to get around and small enough when time poor.
Good for keeping your form.up.
D. M.
Lovely course! Really works well with my slice
K. K.
Sometimes my ball hits the powerlines when I tee off, and I can never find them. It keeps me up at night. Where do they go?
C. G.
Good little suburban course.
D. A.
I remember driving past this course many times on the 510 bus, on the way to uni. Yeah, those were the days. The change-over time at Darebin Road could be frustrating but you knew you had a warm latte waiting for you at the end of the line before beginning the day's learning adventure. My mates, Nick and Al would meet me there and we'd be off! Lost in Marxist political theory and the wonders of the ancient Hellenic-era Greece. For lunch we'd hang out in the Agora smoking cigarettes and catching up on the latest gossip - who had one too many at weekly Eagle Bar drinks and who had grabbed a smooch from who. Many a hot night in the early weeks of first semester would see us drinking to all hours in that place, without a care in the world!
L. A.
Nice 9 hole course, can get a bit boggy at times
R. M.
This course is really improving. Tighter fairways, full proshop, nice staff. I'm tipping in the next 3 months this course will start to boom.
H. H.

Good as place to have a socially distant picnic. Never golfed.

So nice reclaiming public space so we can socially distance responsibly 🤗
N. P.
What a park! One of the few highlights of Lockdown. Shame it's a golf course...
D. H.
Challenging 9 hole course, well maintained and cheap
L. G.
9 hole course, well maintained. Short course but strategic layout makes the course difficult.
