We had a great event at the rooftop. The place was a perfect spot for an early summer night event. The finger food was good too, particularly the chicken bites. A bit let down by the minimal selection of beers. When the music came on it drowned out our conversation and we had to leave. Neither of these minor issues took away from us having a great night.

We attended a friends 40th tonight at the balcony bar upstairs. Just wanted to say how incredible James your bar man was. Seriously the best customer service, personable, friendly and a great hospitality team member. People are quick to complain but I want to be quick to shout out about how great a staff member he is!! The dishes delivery is quite slow. Too a long time. The porterhouse I ordered was quite chewy. The calamari fried didn’t cook well given some of them uncooked in the middle. I know it’s a public pub, but some pubs can hold family dinner. Definitely Not This one.

I'm probably not the best person to write a review for the Richmond Hotel, as I don't visit pubs very often, so here it goes! The place was bustling with people, with live music upstairs, and big screens to watch the footy. Food came out super hot (literally) and it was pretty good, the menu ranges from steaks, burgers to parmas, something to please even the fussiest of eaters.

Multi level pub with pretty decent pub fare. Regular favourites (schnitties, burgers etc) along with pastas and things to cater for vegetarian (eggplant Parma, mushroom burger) and vegan (pumpkin and falafel salad). Done well, lots of drink choices too. Lots of open space including upstairs, and courtyards, good for groups.

Last night my friend organised a big function in the rooftop area where we had our own bar where there was a young girl with black hair serving everyone the whole night. I feel like she deserves a 5 star review as she was so patient the whole night dealing with 30+ impatient people and would always serve me with a smile on her face, she especially made my night when she offered to help me after someone knocked red wine onto me, I don't know her name but she was great and I owe her a thank you. Great venue on top of that, will be back for sure!

Nice venue with the standard selection of beverages. The gentleman on the door was particularly friendly, offering us shelter from the rain while he explained all the COVID requirements. Only 4 star though as it took an extraordinarily long time for a plate of chips to come out when it wasn't that busy from what I saw. I didn't walk around the entire venue due to COVID rules, so it may have been busier than I thought. But still, it was just chips. Staff were helpful and apologetic when trying to sort the delay out, so kudos to them

A Swan St staple. Great happy hour, pub grub up to the Melbourne standard. Loads of different spaces in the venue, spread across multiple levels. With ~five outdoor areas. The rooftop is a great place to unwind on a Friday afternoon. The train line can be pretty noisy, but some how it adds to the grunge vibe. I would hate to think how many times and drinks I’ve drunk here over the years haha! It is an inclusive venue catering to a multitude of ages. I have had a few less than ideal experiences with creeps here over the years—but the bar staff handled each situation very well.

Nice pub, good food. Just thought that it was a little strange that i had to go downstairs to the bar to order, as the person who worked there told me that (when i saw them upstairs). I proceeded downstairs to the bar and there he was right, the exact same guy, as i got there. He could have just taken my order there instead of making two people needlessly run around a pub for no reason. Australia really needs to move to a table service model, especially during these covid times but very seriously moving forward. Making people go to a bar to order is so dumb and archaic. Step up the service Australia!

This place is fine. The setup for the place is the worst thing about it. The upstairs bar areas are very poorly set up, and leave not a lot of room for groups. The staff are nice enough, haven't met em all, but from the ones I've been served by they've been very helpful and nice. Prices are okay. Sometimes you can get a nosebleed looking at the prices and other times you can see it's very reasonable. Don't get jugs of beer here, you can get it for far cheaper. Would maybe recommend for a good bevvy after the footy or something.

Went there last Sunday. Nice venue and very busy- which is a good sign. Rooftop area offers good views. Pleasantly surprised by food quality. Pricing of drinks was reasonable. Definitely coming back. Went again on 20/9/18 and again the experience was pretty good. The barperson on second floor was friendly and knowledgeable. Got a booth for the two of us on the top floor and enjoyed the views in a calm atmosphere this time around. The selection of beers could use a review as many good brands are missing. That might be a business decision and is understandable but if its an oversight then the management might want to look into it.

They hosted an event for me. The balcony bar was small, but held 35 people fine and was actually cosy. Service was great, live band playing in the other room helped the atmosphere, and the preordered canapes were delicious. For a small group, I can definitely recommend for catered event!

Great hotel, Good Atmosphere with friendly staff, has 3 levels with a bar on each, with outdoor areas and seating on all 3 levels. They have plenty of televisions to watch sport, and a nice indoor lounge area to recover in. If you are hungry they also have a fair range menu that you can order from. Great place to meet friends and socialise.

It was average I got the eggplant Parma and it came out like this, I asked if I could have more chips but they said I had to pay extra so I decided to get the roast vegies which were amazing! But the whole meal ended up costing me $3. Great place to drink and the venue is great, the staff was super friendly and even said good bye when we were leaving but to be honest the food disappointed me I was expecting more, I guess for $21 was average I would have been happy to pay $26 and more chips?

Came here at 4pm on a Thursday. Nice atmosphere, sports on the TV. Beer selection is good. It's calm and very well decorated. Bar guys make an attempt to greet everyone that comes in, which adds to the atmosphere. I rate 4/5 as I haven't been here at night yet. Subject to change.

Went for steak night last night and when ordering at the bar asked if there was going to be rocket in the salad as I can't eat rocket. Was told he didn't think so but would check. The salad ended up with rocket in it but on asking the manager if i could have it changed he was so lovely going above and beyond offering a delicious serving a green veggies instead. You can't beat those $7 Balter XPAs during happy hour, easily the best happy hour value in the area. I try to stick to the quieter nights, but I love this place. Staff are always really friendly and the food is solid. Pork a fennel sosso roles are spot on.

I had a jolly ole time with my University Alumni friends, Bernard and Eugene. Jamie made a steadfast and wholesome Hendricks gin and tonic for myself, Bernard had his usual Single malt that he's enjoyed since childhood at the Cliffs of Mohr, and Eugene had the Mandelotta Pinot Grigio - all were outstanding. An excellent experience and I shall be recommending it to all the retirees at the Toorak rotary club and at the senior's water aerobics class I attend on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
