If you like bars with beautiful views it's definitely the place for you. The rooftop is actually quite high up so you feel as though you are part of the city skyline. Definitely try to come on a sunny day! Service is very good and pricing is actually not too exxy. The burgers could be better value for money but as always you do have to pay a premium for beautiful views! They definitely hit the spot though.

After being hard to find (we only noticed it after being at another rooftop bar across the road, and the lift to access the venture was tucked away next to a takeaway shop) we were sure glad we did. We were seated quickly and being a hot day they had the mist turned on, which was delightful. The roof opened up to create a nice atmosphere too. Staff were friendly, service was quick, cocktails were delicious. Definitely a place to visit if you’re in the area

Meals from the Snack Shack are great, and there's a good variety of drinks. But two things steal the show... the night time view and the amazingly knowledgeable and helpful staff. Bring a jacket, the wind can be chilly up there, and be patient with the queue at the bar. Trust me, it's worth the wait, so check it out

Top suggestion when you search for a rooftop bar in Melbourne, elevator was out of service but it is only on level 6-7, worth the hike up the stairs. It's in a good CBD location and on the roof is spacious with a good atmosphere, burgers are delicious and the drinks are excellent all for a good price. Would and probably will definitely visit again on a nice day.

Great venue, with good city views and a nice vibe. Tried the casa de curtain cocktail, and I think there was too much sumac mixed with the salt, it fell into the drink, and I couldn't tatse the watermelon. Other then that though, really good time, would come back again with friends

We dined at Mesa Verde last nigh tin the iconic Curtin Building ', gotta say the food mexican food and service were both great. We then went upstairs to check out roof top bar and met the man in charge 'MJ' who was more than helpful and accommodating, we had some good laughs. Really loved the vibrant open air atmosphere ! looking forward to heading back thee again soon, Thanks MJ :)

Have been here twice now, and the first experience far surpassed the second. My initial visit was with a group of friends and we tried a number of different canned craft beers and were treated with a fun and personal level of service. I went back again expecting a similar vibe, and was served a pretty average beer...in a plastic pint glass. Now, I'm more than forgiving of using plasticware in a nightclub setting, but it is almost condescending to have one's motor skills so heavily doubted at 4.30pm in the afternoon. I may give Rooftop Bar one more chance, but it feels currently like a venue without a strong sense of self perception — halfway between a sophisticated rooftop venue and a tacky day club.

Really cool and chill vibes! The rooftop and the bar are well distributed, has non-smoking and smoking areas well delimited. The place is wide and it has a good view. Good service from the bar staff and floor staff. Bathrooms are clean. Really good place to spend an evening with friends, and to meet new people.

Staff are fantastic. I learnt so much about cocktails 😊 drinks were great. The obvious wow is the view. It was a bit pricey. I asked for an extra shot of coffee liquor and it was $10! I almost died. All in all the vibe is great and chilled. If you have heels on then you might want to get the lift as its on...well the rooftop. Level 7. There are other levels and little nooks and crannies which was quirky and cool. The only thing I could fault was it was pricey for my budget ie. Extra shot was $10. However don't let that stop you checking it out for yourself. Also on their website you can check out their menu and see if its up your alley. Love the little burger bar up the top too.

One of Melbourne's worst kept secrets - in theory on the top floor behind a nondescript entrance between shops on Swanson St, it should be hard to find, yet this is a very popular place. Great ambience, really diverse menu both for food and drinks. I don't think I would make it my local, but a visit is essential.

Amazing place to relax and chat with your mates. Good view of the city, and all of the staff were really friendly as well. I was there with a friend from out-of-town, and they gave me the wrong order... which they quickly apologised for and fixed. Great impression made on my friend! The place can get quite busy later on in the day, so be prepared to wait. It can get quite windy so bring a layer if you'll stay for a while, which is highly likely.

Delicious affordable burgers (not that big). Although there isn't a variety of tap beers or burgers you come here for the view. The chill music, astro turf, and efficient staff makes this ambiance a delight for any occasion. You can take the elevator to the sixth floor but I recommend doing the step journey cause you'll end up staying up there longer than expected!

First time at a roof top cinema and i have to say i loved it. Just an awsome experience and great atmosphere, was abit cold though. I would recommend bringing a blanket if there is potential for wind otherwise you can rent one for $5. They do limited hot food and obviously a good range of alcohols. I would highly recommend giving it a go.

The aptly named ‘Rooftop Bar’ is a bar. On a rooftop! They didn’t ask too many questions when I rocked up really drunk in a turtleneck, and that’s the way I like it. Excellent view of the city, beers on tap, chippies and burgers available to monch on. Lovely little bar on a roof!

While the entrance is discreet and easily missable; the actual bar and open space itself is unforgettable! I loved the views and I love the drinks more! This bar is a MUST-DO while in Melbourne. Catch the lift if you're not very fit and don't look down when you clambering the final flights of stairs to the top. With perfect weather this little oasis is a cracking spot to sink a few.

The one and only original rooftop bar There are many rooftop bars in Melbourne, but this is the original and called The Rooftop Bar. It gets busy so its not always easy to find a seat, but when you do enjoy a cocktail – there are plenty of those – and enjoy the views of the city far below. It is a young person’s place but mid fifties we didn’t feel too out of it. They also serve food and for those less able to tackle the stairs there is a lift.

Cool place, but damn why is the music on volume ONE MILLION? Keep it chill. The place is full of chairs and tables to sit & talk, but you're basically screaming over the music.

The bar is okay but you're not allowed to eat your burger on the tables in a well ventilated area due to a poor interpretation of an ill conceived state law. It is illegal to smoke in an eating area but the onus is on the customer if they decide to bring food into a smoking area. Daniel Andrews can go continue building sky rail but this nanny state BS needs to stop FFS.

This is one of my favourite places to get a drink in summer. Drink menu is decent and they have some interesting cocktails. The lines at the bar can get long so would recommend a cocktail jug to avoid spending a lot of time waiting in line. We had chicken burger, cheese burger and fries. The burgers are very tasty, the chicken burger contains green onions, dill and lettuce and this is what gave it a nice and distinctive taste. Fries was salty if you ask them not put salt on it, it would be good. What I do not like the service was slow and your order may also be forgotten, I don’t know if it because was overcrowded or because COVID restrictions on the way of ordering online!

Great views and relaxing live music make the afternoon beer very enjoyable here. The prices are obviously a bit higher, but there is a 30$ 1700ml jug of some kind of hipster beer that's not too bad. Toilets are clean and staff is nice, there even is free sunscreen at the bar. I would not recommend taking the stairs, that's very exhausting!

On a sunny day this bar is beautiful. Can get very busy which restricts seating. You definitely need the sunscreen and a hat. Views are nice. A gorgeous sunny Melbourne Friday afternoon deserves a rooftop bar! This is a great casual one to choose. Friendly staff (sometimes more interested in each other than those waiting to be served!), Yum burgers & a great spot. Food menu is limited but they do it well. Half the fun is finding the bar...and when you have climbed the stairs a good long cold beer is much deserved! Recommend checking it out!

Climbed 7 flights of stairs to make it to the rooftop bar but worth the hike. Beautiful city views with reasonably priced drinks. There was a range of ages but most were mid 20s to mid 30s. Bring a jacket if going in the cooler months as although there are a lot of people it can get quite cold. Music was a repetitive beat, not something you can dance to but was nice to have in the background while still being able to have a conversation. Mostly standing room only unless you’re lucky enough to grab a chair and table. Definitely a place to check out, entry is free also.

Great place. One of the best rooftops in Melbourne in my opinion, with drinks at decent prices and you can have a burger and chips if you feel like grabbing a bite. It has gorgeous views during the day or night. If you are just visiting Melbs for a couple of days or is a frequent attendant, with some friends or a date, this place is a hit.

We have no shortage of great rooftop bars in Melbourne and this is one of the classics. Summer is the best time to be here when the whole bar is at capacity and full to the brim with people enjoying the sun. There is still plenty of people here during winter but be prepared to huddle up around some gas heaters or bring a nice warm jacket. This bar is completely open to the elements! Also it's a good idea to get here early in the evening because the place gets really busy and it's no fun trudging up all those stairs to the bar only to be turned away. If your around this area you should also check out the toff and cookie located just a few floors below in the same building!

This is a fun rooftop bar right in the middle.of Melbourne. It's worth the adventure of finding your way all the way up. It's more fun if you walk up the stairs as there are a few tempting venues to break your journey. Once there you'll find a fully stocked bar, relaxed seating and friendly staff.

My favourite bar in the city. I find myself always going back here despite planning to go elsewhere. It gets quite busy, but with such a nice view and a selection of beer and cider (can't vouch for the wine) you can't really complain. They also do a decent burger too!

For a place full of sit down tables with chairs, the music was way too loud. Couldn't communicate only across the table without needing to yell. Smokers everywhere!!! Even the signs state no smoking on grass areas yet this was largely ignored by nearly every table. No one was policing this, which only promotes such arrogant and rude attitudes from patrons. Nevertheless, good atmosphere. The best view has Been lost with the re-positioning of the bar.

Drinks great food ok but staff rude and I mean security. I was thrown out just because of 1 girls false accusation. The fact that there are 2 sides to every story doesn't seem to exist at this place. My whole night which was going smoothly got ruined. Not only that security physically tried to push me down the stairs. Thankfully a senior member of security was a little more understanding about an issue over nothing. So funny how 1 persons lies can get you thrown out. Message to Management; Check CCTV footage Point blank favouritism in my opinion No logic in it what so ever. I doubt anything will be done anyway just a case of security staff trying to act hard and cool.

Is there a 6 star button? The literal first bar I went to in Melbourne ( back when they had communal bean bag chairs and people smoked!) I saw this cinema on the roof from the window of my first apartment in the city and knew I had to go. Little did I know a decade later I'd still be hauling myself up those stairs! Sunday sessions with jugs and summer rooftop movies ( who else sees labyrinth every year?) its on the top of my list of places to take visitors to Melbourne and has never failed to be a laugh. Its also how I found my second fav bar, Sec8 as I spotted it from the rooftop and thought... now there is a place with no stairs!

Sometimes things in Melbourne change and it's terrible, other times they change but are still good. The Veggie All Day Burger is still as good - though they changed the patty! And it's not on the menu (only the meat one is at the moment), so be sure to ask! Not that a mushroom burger isn't great (think Grill'd), but there's nothing like Rooftop's original veggie All Day Burger with stereo sauce.
