N. I. O.We love this intimate wine bar. Our food was so delicious and paired with a couple of sensational Victorian wines. The lobster croquettes were a highlight as was the friendly and unobtrusive service. Can’t wait to return!

I have been here several times before the pandemic and lockdowns; last night was my first opportunity since Melbourne re-opened, and I was so happy to find that nothing has changed! It's the same delightful tiny cosy space, perfect service from Graham (so welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable), delicious locally-produced food and wine. I'm really glad that Smithward has made it through the last two years. This is the sort of place that makes visitors to Melbourne fall in love with the city.

My only regret is not taking a photo of the wine menu and my only qualm would be that there is very little by way of vegetables and a few salads would go very well with the very french inspired menu. B. S.I only stopped in for one glass while killing time. But the bartender was very helpful, offered some almonds/olives. It was the perfect spot to kill some time in the afternoon sun.
A.Smithward is a cosy little gem in Collingwood.
The food, predominantly share plates, is outstanding and the curated wine and beverage list superb.
Don’t get me started on the raclette cheese dishes……
Graham is a superstar host, sommelier and chef.
Smithward is one of our favourite social/dining experiences in Melbourne.

Every single visit over the last few years, I have been astounded by the consistent calibre of local wine they manage to procure and delight with. Smithward is a showcase of intimate excellence and an obvious passion project from the long time local proprietor. Well worth a visit. It will likely become your go-to.
