Really great service from all the staff. Host was able to find us a spot outside with a dog. Waiter was very attentive and brought over dog treats. Bar tenders very friendly and helpful. Live music was wonderful. Really nice vibes. Pizzas were outstanding.

View from the open window was perfect, trees parkland, sound of the ocean. And the cutest little birds who are very shy, but also very brave.

We stumbled across the Apollo Hotel. It was situated right in front of the Apollo Summer Carnival. We loved the ambiance and the food was very delicious too. We were impressed with the service- it made all the difference. Only thing was, we wish there were more food options but otherwise we would recommend as a stop at Apollo Bay for sure.

Fabulous pub on Main Street with fantastic views of Apollo Bay. Huge spaces in side and out on front deck. Beer Gardens restaurant/bistro. Cool pub in town, staff are friendly and the place overall is nice. Quite a young crowd around but enjoyable atmosphere. I didn't give the 5th star because the kitchen closes waaaay too early considering how much people keep drinking from 8pm onwards. When I asked, the owner said 'we open from 10am to 8pm 7 days a week'. I'd say: maybe you need to get priorities right and either feed the early crowd (ie no one is going for breakfast to a pub) or the later crowd (ie literally the entire town). But in general it's a good spot for a beer and an early 😉 nibble.

Love it! We stayed at a seaview room, the view is awesome, you can see sunrise in the room, or simply across the street to the beach. It is 'sparkling' clean and plus it has a spa bathtub! Everything is perfect and would definitely stay here again when visiting Apollo bay.

Everyone is getting out this November in Victoria, and this was a great place to have a feed on a sunny day. Just pay the extra dollar and get the cheesiest garlic bread in town. The desserts were a highly recommended as they were delicious just to look at. All the meals were super fast, that gave plenty of time to enjoy a few local beers on tap.

We had lunch here on the way along the Great Ocean Rd. This place is fantastic and very reasonably priced. We got 2 x bowls of wedges, kids chicken tenders meal, hawaiian pizza, garden salad and a jug of soft drink for ~$70. All food was waited to us quite quickly by bistro standards and was of a high quality. The outside area at the front is great, just across from the ocean which provides a great refreshing breeze. Has a big outdoor TV as well which was showing the V8 Supercars. We're thinking about doing a trip specifically to Apollo Bay instead of passing through and have every intention of returning to this venue.

I’ve visited many restaurants around Victoria, however this is a very convenient hotel and experience! Me and my family had a extremely warm welcoming service, and the food was very well made cooked and had extraordinary taste ✅ We had a sensational visit and even though we live far away from Apollo bay I’ll definitely be coming back! 😁

We came for a quick beer after my partner finished the GOR Ultramarathon last year. The place was super packed, but everyone was cheering for anyone who participated in the race.. so the sense of joy was electrifying!

Just a really solid pub. Great size meals, fast service, probably good value, I dunno, the Mrs picked up the tab. Try the Texas Wings, bloody rippers. The Pork Ribs was a huge feed. Somehow I finished it, they aint mucking around. Great selection of beer. Great atmosphere. Wasnt my first rodeo, wont be the last. 4.5 Stars.

I've been going to this pub on and off for 50+ years and it's still the best place in town. Food is great and the team all really friendly and helpful. We travelled 3 hours to get there yesterday and I'd do the same again in a heartbeat 💓. When you're there checkout the famous mirror painting of the old man with the pipe. It's been part of the decor ever since I can remember. And there must be a heap of stories associated with it.

Went for drinks and probably didn't need to. Totally get it is the quiet season but why have a cocktail night advertised when most of them are unavailable. I didn't have any food and would be willing to try but not a drinking destination.

Gorgeous view, lovely interior, lively environment and lovely customer service. The food was bland and didn't have much flavour. The sizes were large but when the food isn't that great it doesn't make the overall experience special. Vegetarian options were bland.

Great location. We had a recent holiday in Apollo Bay and this pub was a short walk from where we stayed in Moore Street. It is dog friendly and the staff doted over the two pooches our group had (on leads) with us. We remarked every day how friendly every staff member was. The friendly service was so consistent that that could not have been happening by chance. There is a great culture there amongst the staff and kudos to the managers and team members who make the customer experience extra special. The beer choices are excellent. The food is great and the view overlooking the foreshore and beach makes for a perfect spot to visit for a drink and/or meal. Highly recommended.

Despite our cheater and disappointing accommodation, Seafarers getaway that advertise something and give you something else and I DO NOT recommend them at all, this restaurant is highly recommended.

Pam our lovely waitress for the evening catered to every need and also going above and beyond for my jacket which unfortunately had a run in with some buffalo sauce. It was so nice and refreshing to see such a kind and caring person who was happy to help in our time of need. The surf and turf didn’t reflect the price we paid for however, barramundi and Texas hot wings were good. Thank you Pam for taking care of us❤️.

Fast service with quality meals. We have eaten here twice now on our 5 day stay and each meal has been just as good as the last. Also if you're looking for a great drink, the bar man, Flynn, is a perfectionist with his mixology and beyond good customer service. All in all, if you're looking for a family friendly night out or a date night by the sea, this place is definitely worth visiting.

Basic pub grub, but overpriced in that category. Meals looked good, but lacked flavour. Portions were fairly generous. Worst pepper corn sauce I've ever had. It was literally a very bland gravy with some peppercorns in it. My Sons' burgers looked great but tasted of very little. TV's everywhere. Very loud covers duo blaring outside. And just to top it off, 15% 'surcharge' for public holiday weekend meals. Definitely a thumbs down from our 10 person dining group.

Happy Hour prices of the Stone and Wood pacific ale were fantastic. $6 a schooner happy days. The Texas hot wings were a solid 8/10 with a mediocre ranch sauce that wasn’t very ranchy. Followed by our mains, a delicious parma, classic pub parma, couldn’t fault it. However the chefs interpretation of the cooking of a steak was very rare. I do recommend the mushroom sauce and the salad dressing was pleasant. I would give another half a star if it had the option.

The place gets busy and the lines for the bar or ordering food can be frustrating. So consider going outside of peak times.

The food tasted good but it was very quick as other commented. 5 min for a well done steak!? To be served to the table . Waitresses were in a hurry to clear us out even on a Friday evening where we wanted to have a relaxed dinner. Lamb shanks were well cooked and the quantity of the food was satisfying!

A lovely place to relax and enjoy a beer, the setting and views were great. We only stopped for a quick break but ended up staying longer than anticipated due to the ambience and pleasant service from Michelle , she is a credit to the hotel. Her smile & friendly manner made our time there very enjoyable. A well run establishment which has all you could ask for, a good bar and restaurant. Well worth stopping for a drink and meal.

Staff are great, drinks and food are delivered quicky. Sack the chef(s). I recommend you go there for a drink it will be very enjoyable sitting in one of the many areas they have or outside watching the Great Ocean Rd. The food was terrible. Eye fillet steak , medium rare. It arrived in two pieces, always a huge no-no. One piece medium rare and the other well done. Salad was warm. Chips cold Wife's salmon meal was worse. In short, good pub but bad food.

Went in at night after a trip to the 12 apostles. (Didn't check what time they closed) Apparently it's 2 minutes before they close the kitchen. To my surprise the staff still welcomed us warmly and everything was good! Service was very friendly and professional, even though we're in the "last order" group, they still check on us from time to time. Food was great too! The pork fennel bangers and mash was superb! Steak (medium) was better than I expected. And a "jug" of lemonade was served in a fancy/giant coke bottle. The only exception is the kid's cheesy nachos: it's not what I expected of a nachos but call it any other name I'll still eat them. We enjoyed our dinner very much, thank you :)

They hosted a rum weekend and they didn't even know how to make piña coladas... shame. After following the recipe they kinda did it... "Kinda" actually was more like pineapple juice and rum with a coconut cream TSP. There was this bartender older than the rest of the crew, he really knows what he is doing 🙌 Pizza was good. Nice place and seaside view, friendly staff. Pizza crust is hard and dry, not great. Quality ingredients for mains, but served in the style of cheap RSL food, sadly the cooking lets the ingredients down. Chips were brown and tasted of old oil. Id be very satisfied if these meals were half the price, these dishes would make good $15 pub feeds, but dont live up to the $30+ price tag.

Stayed in Apollo Bay for nearly 2 weeks in March this year and having had some bad experiences at this pub in the past was reluctant to visit again but my daughter suggested we try again. What a surprise. The bistro has had a bit of a make over which has lifted the place and the food is now really good. We ended up eating here twice during our stay and left happy both times even though the drink prices are a little exy. Try the pizza and sit in the bar area with live music. Noisy but exciting.

My wife and I attended with our two small children, and had a lovely time. The menu is standard pub fair, well presented, and the staff were helpful. Nothing that stands out, but I'd recommend it for a pleasant evening of outdoor dining (if the weather is fine), over looking the beach. Otherwise there are plenty of indoor tables.

The only thing which stopped it from being five star was having to go to two separate sides of the venue to order your food and drinks. No table service offered apart from delivery of food. The Apollo Bay Hotel is a great relaxed upper market pub. Pleasant, friendly approachable staff that are willing to help and offer any assistance when needed. The saffron beer battered fish n chips were amazing. Both my wife and i ordered it and greatly enjoyed it, the serving size was great, it came out quickly and the chips an salad were fresh and crisp. The venue is clean and tidy and the music is loud enough to enjoy the music and have a normal speaking volume conversation.

Pizza is amazing and you must try it. Excellent beer, large variety on the tap. Alcohol menu is also great, pretty much got everything. A must try and highly recommend.

We ordered take away pizzas after reading some great reviews. The staff were lovely and seated us at a table by the fire place while we waited. The pizzas were PERFECT!!! We ordered a satay chicken (no capsicum), pepperoni and aussie pizzas. Bases were the perfect medium, not too thin or thick. The base sauce was delicious and didn't overpower the flavour of the toppings. Not greasy, base was crisp and fresh. Also ordered a side of garlic bread but didn't get a pic before it was inhaled. It was delicious, not the cheap garlic bread. The pizzas were just as tasty as a midnight snack. Highly recommend!!

Across the cod, lamb chops, tandoori chicken salad and prawns, everyone was impressed with the quality, taste and overall portion size. It's not the cheapest but reasonable for what it is. Friendly staff good location. Bar prices reasonable. But disappointed in my roast pork meal. Cold plate made food cold and the only roasted thing was the pork. Extra crackle was the only thing that stopped me from sending it back. And seeing them turn people away at 8pm on a wed night in school holidays when it says 9pm had us shaking our heads. Won't go back for rest of our stay in the bay.

We came late to order food, it was about 20:30 - 20:40 when we came and we have been "lucky" to be accepted by probably the responsible/owner who saw we were 8 people. We had time to order anyway and surprisingly the food came very very fast! We ordered smoked salmon, maroccan lamb ribs, fried prawns, pasta... etc.... I am quiet precise if I say that within 20 - 25 minutes we were having our meals on the table. the big problem: FLIES FLIES FLIES FLIES FLIES... WHY WHY WHY??? This was horrible and embarrassing for our overseas guests and for all of us too... It was disgusting and I have been forced by the partner to stay calm and not to complain and ruin the evening. I have been traveling all around the world and I have been in Countries where Hygiene is worse than our Western Countries but at least they put in place small actions just to fight the flies (rudimental devices who turn fast and in circle and this actually keep flies away or the simple light who attracts and kills the flies, I am pretty sure everybody has those in their houses. We are talking about the common flies.. the one that eat and put eggs in feces. We were eating with them and they were touching our food and us and we could not winning the battle... there were 20... 30.. 40.. who knows how many... We did not see any mosquito/flies buzzers or anti flies light devices, the ones with the purple light who attracts insects and then kill them with electricity. they are cheap and they actually work pretty good! why don't you buy them? I have never eaten in such situation where I have to eat fast and moving my hand continuously to avoid the flies touch food, glasses, forks and myself. It was also hot and humid inside.... This applied to all people. For sure this situation was not a good presentation to our overseas guests. This is actually a breach of Food Hygiene in many Countries and some rectifications should be put on place. Food was average and price was the usually 29 - 36 $ dollars meal... Cleanliness and so Hygiene are important factors... very important... people get sick... infections and diseases spreads easily like that.

A nice enough pub. We only went to the bistro side, but the main bar looked warm and inviting. The food was nice enough ... nothing to rock your socks off, but far from terrible. The kids meals came with veggies which is admirable. Compared to the 'Brew House' down the road, the tap beer selection is about as mainstream (i.e. boring) as you can get. But my guess is, this suits the main demographic of locals. Or at least, enough locals to differentiate themselves from what the other joints aims for. It's clean, it's nice, the toilets are nice (though a change table would be good ... unless they prefer parents of babies/toddlers not eat there), the decor is pleasant. I'd eat there again next time.

I can highly recommend the pumpkin and blue cheese pizza, it was a delicious vegetarian option. Hubby wasn't so keen on the steak (overpriced?) But all round good option for dinner in the town.

Pub fare with vegan pizza option which I must say was pretty damn good. Good waiting staff where flat out. One flaw was evident. Seated customers watched one young woman turn away or offer limited bar places to hopeful diners who had not booked ahead. She got called away and was replaced by a senior for five minutes who immediately began to place new arriving hopefuls. Consistency guys.

Came here under arrangement of a tour. The food is alright, not sure about the price because it's included in the tour packages. I requested extra tartar sauce but the staff told me to just get it at the pantry, the thing is I have went there previously to check and they only have ketchup, chilli sauce, BBQ sauce and also mayonnaise there.

Had dinner here with the mrs. We tossed up between this place and the pub down the road. We chose poorly. Decided to get the prawns as a starter. Sounded well enough with some salad and a honey almond dipping sauce. It looked like someone just grabbed a handfull of unpeeled prawns, plonked them on a bed of rocket and served with a side of honey with a few almond flakes in it. All this for 22 bucks. We felt quite foolish for getting it. Also the salad tasted like the prawn shells. Otherwise the chicken parmigian was below average and the pumpkin soup was ok. Give this place a try but please do not order the prawn starter, absolute joke of a dish.

visit every year for the last 5,6 years with my family on our way great ocean adventure last X'mas ,and this easter 2013 was terrible experiences from this place ,all the warm friendly ,nice food is gone ,dont like the new menu at all my favourite stir fry is no longer there , service gone from friendly to rude ,..its not the same feeling ,food is way to expensive than any other year ,with one hand full of choices,and terrible taste of stew i have ever taste in my life , unfortunately im not returning to this place again
