Warm, welcoming, friendly, easy, I couldn't have like this place more. The food was superb. I had salmon stuffed zucchini flowers in tempura batter and a very generous serving of an excellent tiramisu. Love love love this place and can't wait to go back.

This place is legendary and for good reason. We booked the chefs table lunch on Sunday and were so impressed with the quality of the food and service. Every meal was utterly divine. The exquisite mushroom and cheese croquettes, hand cured salmon, pork belly and brisket cooked to absolute perfection. And to top it off a sublime lemon tart that was really more a citrus creme brulee in tart form. The chefs table changes week to week so I can't wait to go back and try it again!
B. J.
Omg. Such a run of the mill looking country pub with the most superb food I have eaten.

An absolute must visit. 5⭐️ all rounder. Magnificent views and atmosphere, friendly and warm service, and food that will have your taste buds dancing.
We sat on the outside verandah with our dog, had the 5 course sunday chefs menu, and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. 👌

Beautiful meals! Must try their Sunday lunch specials 😁5 course and they have good wine selection:) good value for money

Wow! Couldn't be happier with our meal and service at The Bunyip last night. Between the 2 of us we tried a variety of dishes which included mussels, duck, beef, side dishes of spinach, sugar snap peas. And lemon tart to finish off. All divine. And a bottle of local wine to accompany. Not one negative vibe all night. Thanks Team Bunyip for this wonderful dining experience. Can't wait to come back in December!

We stayed and ate at the Bunyip for a long weekend, and were so impressed by the accommodation. So many lovely touches - great colour scheme and high quality towels, throw blankets made from local wool, toiletries from local producers, etc. All the staff were welcoming and friendly. Our dinner at the pub was just fabulous! The food was stunning. Highlights were the scallops, duck parfait, croquettes, corned beef and a divine lemon tart. It's obvious that the Bunyip staff have have passion for food and fresh, local produce. We will recommend it to all of our friends.

What a surprise. Really great food. Lots of room. Beer garden and balcony over river.

We visited the Bunyip from Melbourne and stayed in the accommodation and had a meal. The publicans are welcoming and kind, the chef uses locally sourced produce that give you a good sample of the region.
the accommodation was very clean, comfortable and was thoughtfully designed. It was great to simply walk from our delicious dinner right to bed.
The food at the Bunyip far outshines other fine-dining competitors in the region. We had beautiful scallops, smooth duck parfait with home-made wattle seed bread, croquettes, duck breast, corned beef, dessert and more. Tasty and plentiful! Thank you for a fantastic weekend, Elisha, Matt and Jimmy!

Awsumly devine food. Fast service on a busy night. Great service and hosts. We will be back.

We stopped in for lunch while out exploring the area recently and are so glad we did. We were lucky to get a table on a long weekend, we'd definitely book next time and suggest you do too as it was very busy. Food is amazing, the wait staff were friendly and attentive.
S. A.
Love having this local spot to while away a Sunday arvo! Great set menu of classics and new combos, all taken to new levels when paired with the amazing selection of local wines.
M. C.
Sunday registration is simple outstanding. The food should be triple the price.
F. M.
Sensational food, lovely setting, very professional in a very unpretentious way!
T. d.
Great food in a beautiful setting overlooking the ancient red gums of the Wannon river
M. H.
Excellent pub with good beer on tap. The menu looks good but nothing for vegans yet
B. C.
Amazing food overlooking the river, service was excellent and the staff dealt with my partner's dietary requirements easily. Comprehensive selection of local wines on offer. Definitely will be returning soon
A. E.
Does not have traditional pub meals like Parmas or schnitzel! We had Expensive 5 course chief table you share a plate between 2 people on each plate you have 3 pieces of entree to share main might be 1 chicken leg and 1 wing on mash, very poor it does not fill a hungry person. For a country pub should cater for every body specially seniors or low income earners!
L. F.
Stopped for a cup of tea on the way home, was a brilliant cup of tea, they gave me a decent sized pot and the staff were lovely. Will be back next time I’m in the area.
K. M.
So much atmosphere, great food - best! Service wonderful. Share plates + local wines = fun with friends

We dropped by on a recommendation, and absolutely loved it. A Melbourne career chef that has lovingly and respectfully tackled a proper country pub and its menu. Everything looked and tasted honest and down-to-earth, but with such an attention to the quality of the produce and its sound cooking and pairings. We ordered and ate too much and look forward to next time.

Looks can be deceiving. Outside looks very much like you standard small town hotel. Even though I was there on a Saturday night, I had to take a second look to see if it was open. Go inside and wow. A modern pub, great decor and a lovely view from both the bar lounge areas. The menu was adequate with good choices. My steak was magnificent and I would not hesitate in going there again.

Absolute gem, the food, service, staff and wood fire just perfect. Make this a must do Sunday lunch with friends. You will not be disappointed.
R. H.
Really good food, the chefs selection was the way to go.
A. C.
Delicious food, fantastic service, and definitely deserving of the 2 recommendations we got to come here for dinner. Good sized servings with fresh, local food and a comprehensive local wine list
A. N. G.
Great food and friendly service staff. They were very accommodating for my gluten free requirements and marked up the menu for coealic and gluten free options.
The beetroot salad was great as were the scallops with the breadcrumbs removed.
Definitely the best place to eat in town.
C. S.
Worth stopping here, it's not just another country pub. Great food and a relaxed environment. Very professional and friendly service. Food is well priced considering the transport costs associated with getting food here, and also for the great team of staff on hand. I will definitely be back.
N. D.
Great variety on the menu. We opted for 6 entrees between the two of us. Highlights were the zucchini flowers and the smoked mackerel rillette. Fabulous food. Unexpected location. I couldn't ask for more. The plan is to return with the whole family.
N. R.
Had golden syrup dumplings for dessert. The dumplings were the wrong kind. They were not the cake dumplings but were the scone type used for casseroles. Tasted all wrong. Golden syrup sauce lacked taste and golden syrup.
Not keen on the meal to be shared between 2 when it would have fed 1 (just as well we are friends). 5 courses with no fresh plates or utensils between. We had to move food from the serving plate onto our plate with utensils we had eaten with. Not very hygenic. Meal very expensive. $40 per head sharing meals. $20 would be more acceptable . Big smoke prices and meals in a country pub.
Won't be having a mystery meal again. On the plus side waiting staff were very good.

Heard about the food from many people so we decided to give it ago. The menu is definitely unique but the food was amazing. It didn't disappoint.
M. S.
Delicious gourmet food with a rustic feel that suits a country pub. We tried the chefs table on a Sunday and it was phenomenal. It is the best value for money you're going to find with 4 hearty courses plus dessert. They've got some great beers on tap that they brew onsite as well as their own delicious "Cavendish Gin". I can't recommend this place enough if you're anywhere near the Grampians.
j. k.
Excellent friendly service, helped me out when others wouldn't.
Will definitely be back.

We went there after reading and hearing that its a must, so we went for Saturday lunch and for my birthday to try it out. The best part of the visit and lunch was driving home. I can understand the style of the menu and you would think that with the it is written that you if you find something you like will be in for a treat, maybe sometimes you will be, unfortunately we got a bad day. The fish and chips were terrible, probably the worst I have even had, the fish was so over cooked that parts of the batter were black, it could not be cut as the batter flew off in all directions, presentation even though its fish and chips was left in the kitchen, yes it was returned and the second attempt wasn't much better, so much batter and an unusual taste like salt, very disappointed. The other meal of Lamb shoulder was ok, the meat itself was very tender and quite nice, overall though not something we would rush back for, the mash very runny and so many peas. The place itself is quite nice and the setting looking at the river was peaceful. Perhaps we should have gone Sunday for the set menu, which gets cooked often and well known, I will put it down to an off day for everyone but will not be returning as the whole experience was a big let down. Not so Happy Birthday....
J. S.
Sunday lunch last week, the place was packed but the entire staff rose to the task.
Great food as usual but I was very very impressed by the young wait staff, always courteous and happy to explain each course.
This is my favourite place to eat, a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Congratulations to all the Bunyip team.
M. K.
The food is super amazing, something for everyone’s taste. Usually country folk would be jealous of town folk being spoilt for food choice, not in this case! Lucky country people, worth the drive to the Bunyip to eat! 😋 Also very friendly and top service too. 😁
E. A.
Great menu, full of creative comfort food. Reasonably priced drinks, including local wines and craft beers. Gorgeous view across the river. Friendly service. I'll be back soon!
G. A.
No gravy on chips? No sauce on steaks? A menu which looks as if it has come from talented career chef....As a chef you should know the people you are catering for really enjoy your cuisine and friendly atmosphere ... You’re in the bush .... Chuck a parmi on the menu if you feel like catering to the lowest common denominator, no sauce is no problem when the food is this good. (we had a great time and would absolutely come back again, tell the queen!)
H. A.
What is lacks in pretentiousness it makes up for in quality and ambience. The food is of high value and given that we visited in the age of covid, inventive. The chefs team here had a limited variety of local foodstuffs to use and performed quite well at utilising all the ingredients to their upmost potential. Will be returning when I pass through again. Oh and also does chips and eggs, though I did not have this they use paprika quite a bit.
J. W.
Loved the Sunday chefs lunch! So tasty and great value. Worth the over 2 hour drive each way for a treat. Will be returning for sure.
M. T.
Best pub meal in years. I eat alot of pub meals. Just all round a top pub. Great service. Top notch food.
J. C.
Was in the Grampians and went there last Friday for dinner. They got a new chef 3 weeks ago. The best chicken parmi I've ever had. Not your normal pub parmi. Has its own microbrewery and the beer was good. Friendly staff. Nice vibe. Outdoor area has a nice river view.
J. T.
A pleasant afternoon catching up with family visiting from Queensland. Although not familiar with the sharing of food, & some out of their comfort zone, we all found something we enjoyed to try away from the traditional menu. We would definately come back for the Chefs Special Sunday Lunch. Appreciated Eleisha's perky personality & Nathan introducing the dishes. Good value for $ also. 😊
A. A.
Amazing pub, the food is next level and staff are incredibly accommodating. Would highly recommend.
G. M.

Wow. Loving this place!! Don't need no 'sauses' or 'gravey' (sic). Just good food at good prices! And craft beer to rival the big boys!
