Fantastic bar space in Melbourne, great vibe all around, with good tunes filling with LED lit halls! The outdoor space is perfect on this hot summer nights, accompanied but an awesome indoor area for this cold winters. Definitely recommend for anyone looking to wet their lips around the CBD

A fun space to sit n relax but beware, there is a LOT of stairs to get to the top! But the drinks are good and reasonably well priced for what I got. I had a mango margarita which was so moorish. If there weren't soo many stairs I would have had more haha. Good view's, good service. And if you can't get to the top, there are bars on different levels.

As you can see in the picture we ordered way too many chips (there are loads of chips under the Parma) for three people to finish it in one go and this place doesn’t do take aways so it all had to go to waste cause we couldn’t finish all of it. If only the staff had informed us about the chips we didn’t had to order so much but “it just didn’t occur to them”. Anyway The burger was good but the chicken Parma had no salt in it and that just made it so hard to eat cause of lack of flavour. Pretty cool ambiance regardless.

Its quite small, city views of the tall towers, stayed for one drink. had a quick look in the inside bar which look a lot nicer but unfortunately didn't have time to stay - will check that out next time, but will give the roof bar a miss, wasn't my scene

$15 Wednesday Steak meal so worth it! Big, tender, heaps of fries, salad and onion rings to go with it. Cooked perfectly. Definitely no complaints from me! Decor nearly turned us away coming up the stairs but so glad we weren’t snobs.....

The Carlton Club is a great place to come and hangout with friends and enjoy a quirky atmosphere from the felt covered statues to its huge Giraffe head. Drinks are fair priced, while this is mostly true some Alcohol pricing is questionable. Basic 'food' manu looks good too. If your looking to have some drinks and have a pretty casual hangout this is a must do. The only real complaint which happens every now and then, is that the music near the booth seats can be a little too loud. Making it harder to chat amongst friends. Overall cleanliness is good too, though if someone spills a drink on the seats you will notice it as some seating is covered in suede. All up, this is a recommend.

Multi level, funky designed bar. Good for causal after work drinks or cheeky drinks on sat or Sunday. On Saturday night gets really busy but fun place to have a dance. Top level is a good rooftop, good for nice weather. First level has outdoor covered area ok even in Melbourne winters.

Jungle on the rooftops of Bourke Street. Main bar Carlton and the rooftop Palms are great at any time of the day. A plethora of experiences available at this “labyrinth of indoor and outdoor” bars. Try and come here between 7pm and 9pm on a weeknight to avoid the rush.

Good thing is the number of levels and bars so you don't really have to queue to get a drink but a bit disappointed with inside as there is not much place if you want to dance and the music was really main stream. But will be back for a drink at the rooftop bar!

This place is a hidden gem. The name suggests a hotel style pub but far from it. So many areas to immerse yourself and take in the fantastic vibe and atmosphere. Includes a large balcony overlooking Bourke street with city views. Take the stairs up a few more levels and the rooftop offers another retreat capturing a palm tree theme with Hawaiian style bar hut. Well worth the effort. I took advantage of the happy hour specials on an evening where the weather was quite warm and balmy. The perfect scenario for a beautiful evening with chill music playing in the background and complimented by beautiful company. Needless to say, my date was impressed with my choice of venue.....haha

My friends and I had an awesome time dancing here last night. I had an unfortunate experience with a guy grabbing me inappropriately as I was leaving and when I told the security guards they immediately found him and threw him out with no questions asked. They said that kind of behaviour is absolutely not tolerated by management. What an awesome management and security team - thank you so much for taking a stance and doing what's right!

If you ever wondered what kind of place Lewis Carroll would have drinks at while tripping on acid then look no further. This place has more character than the Cambodian alphabet and definitely one of the more memorable bars in Melbourne. Worth a visit if you're in the area and are feeling a bit parched.

The booking system is really bad. There's no online booking system so you either have to email or call. My group and I emailed and didn't get a response for almost three days, and no one picked up the phone when we called. We got confirmation on the same day we wanted to go out, which isn't ideal. It didn't matter anyway, as when we arrived, the staff apparently didn't get the booking. They still sat us when we showed our email. The staff are generally really nice and friendly, the food is okay, nothing fancy.

If you're ever after a value-for-money, satisfying feed in the heart of the CBD on a Thursday or Friday, Carlton Club's the go. Thurs: $15 parma (chicken or eggplant )and beer (or soft drink) Fri: $14 burger and chips Their Friday burgers show up a lot of the "proper" burger joints in the city. I've tried their fried chicken burger and wagyu beef burgers. Chips are moreish, crispy and just the right amount. Can't go wrong. Eat out on the balcony sheltered from the dinging of the trams running up and down Bourke St or veg out indoors by candlelight as the wall-mounted, stuffed giraffe watches on approvingly. Good for groups or individuals.

I booked a table for two in attempt to bring my wife a surprise birthday dinner. I did not read much about the reviews and all I did was look at their venue pictures and think the atmosphere is quite nice. On the night of our booking. Which is 15 minutes ago. My wife and I spotted the venue entrance. And she suddenly feel very uncomfortable about that place. She said that those staffs at the front entrance looks intimidating. I tried to assure her that they are just bouncers doing their job and should be fine with our dinning experience there. But she would just feel extremely uncomfortable of visiting such venue. So I have no choice but to take her to other restaurant that has no bouncers standing guard at the front. 😂😂😂 Sorry mate 3 stars to you to show my mutuality towards the venue.

Went for an after work farewell party. It was nice, they have a 5-7 happy hour. It's really basic tho. The balcony is spacious and green; you can smoke out there with a drink in hand. House spirits are on the premium side which is really good. E.g. Bombay house gin, no basic Smirnoff, Gordons etc. NOTE: They make you pay ($2) for cloaking (two strap rule) after 5pm so make sure you get there before 5! Other than that Super KB place.

However the atmosphere is really great and fun, and the music choice is generally great! Also a very clean venue considering the amount of drunk, munting people. Slightly overpriced for a pub but efficient and kind staff make up for it.

I love this bar! Anytime I'm in Melbourne I MUST visit this pub. It just has an amazing, buzzing atmosphere. The deck is a great place to regroup with a drink after shopping as its conveniently located in the city shopping district. If you haven't been there you're missing out.

Came here with my wife to watch a comedy act during the comedy festival. The main bar was buzzing and had a good atmosphere. Didn't get a chance to eat but the menu looked reasonable. The comedy festival burger special was a good deal though. Took a peek at the upstairs beer garden and it looked ok but was reasonably quiet despite the activity downstairs.

Always a good night out at Carlton, drinks are reasonably priced. Rarely overly packed, DJs are good. On first level the outdoor area is a little small but on the next level up there is plenty more outside space to cool off after a night of dancing.

The bouncers are pretty rude and are clearly trying to project. They told my group of friends and myself that we needed to try harder to dress up. We all were wearing t-shirts, jackets, and nice slacks. Most people inside were wearing t-shirts or hoodies and jeans plus they had no dress code posted, so it was annoying to have ourselves reprimanded even though we were dressed on par with the other patrons The place was nice, but the original interactions left an overall negative impression of the establishment.

Have only been here on Friday/Saturday nights. Gets pretty packed and pulls a crowd ranging from early twenties to mid thirties, (mostly mid twenties to mid thirties).There are 3 levels to his venue. The first one has a big indoor area with a couches next to it. On the opposite side is a pretty spacious quiet area far from the dance floor with couches and chairs. The bar is in between. Drinks are expensive. Upstairs has a dance floor and couches next to it (looks similar to downstairs) and a large outside area. On the third level after a few flight of stairs is the rooftop which is pretty spacious and has a good view of the city. Overall it has a nice atmosphere and a nice design to it. Definately worth checking out once.

Multiple levels of varying intensity, this place is a staple of good times and good atmosphere pretty much whenever it’s dark. Bar prices are reasonable and the crowd is good matured and always having a great time. Extensive selection of wines, beers and cocktails plus reasonable liquors. Music can be patchy in some locations at times but generally will hit the mark. This app rally is one of Melbourne’s stalwart venues and a must for inner city bar hopping.

It's an okay venue. The rooftop is many stairs to the top, but mostly worth the trek. Nothing particularly special going on behind the bar, but it's a nice space to sit and have a beer on a nice day. I don't believe it's wheelchair accessible, unfortunately. (Happy to be corrected on this point). One letdown is the weirdly standoffish bouncers at the door, there are many other venues that don't make you feel uncomfortable before you even get through the door.

The security guys are really polite and understanding! They actually talked to us and understood what was happening! This is what a club needs. They need stern people for security to control the crowd but, also the people who can actually help and talk to people :)

It's a classic in Melbourne. Good food, usually OK bartenders and one of the most unusual designs of a bar in Melbourne. There's a rooftop (Palms), a Elephant room (sometimes open for functions or on certain busy nights) and the big main room and deck.

Do you really have to hold a blank expression on your face while tapping my credit card, the machine up next to your face? We had a work Christmas party on level 3. The venue itself is nice, with a quirky, jungle themed décor. Unfortunately that's about the extent of the good things, everything else was mediocre. Not a huge range of choice when it comes to drinks (there are only two beers on tap), the canapés were neither here, nor there, and the music was far too loud for a Christmas party, with no areas that were quiet enough to not need to be shouted over.

The ASCA Axil Coffee after party ended up being a fantastic night. The finger food was delicious and while not cheap, the drinks on the 4th floor bar were served by friendly and attentive staff. It is a crying shame that the area wasn't opened on time, and none of the 5 different staff we asked were able to effectively direct us to the events location.... Still, while the start was not fantastic, when it started to article and they opened up the tent like roof to cover us, it felt like everything here was covered (but be prepared to walk up multiple flights of stairs.... O_o)
