Really liked the vibe at this wine bar. Dimly lit spot with nice seating, the wait staff are super attentive & warm. Enjoyed the wines - especially the Oyster Bay white wine. For food, the Kingfish and fried bread are definitely worth ordering but don’t come here if you’re after anything more than a bite to eat. Was disappointed how small the menu was, because on Instagram they looked to have way more substantial dishes - unfortunately they don’t put up their menu online though

The Moon is an unassuming wine bar that will catch you by surprise. The place is dimly lit and creates a beautiful vibe perfect for a date night or to escape with friends to chat and hide away. Staff are friendly, attentive and know their wines and food well. The menu is short and made to share and on point. Great flavours, quality ingredients and I would call it modern Australian tapas. Do yourself a favour and go let this place surprise you

This bar was a lovely surprise! The wine list is interesting and varied and the staff were all super knowledgeable and helpful with their suggestions. We had some great food as well, enjoying the charcuterie plate as a late night snack. Really nice fitout too - dark and moody and perfect for catching up with close friends.

You must come here ! I absolutely love the Moon, delicious food and a great atmosphere. There always seems to be small menu changes as well as a rotating wine list so there's always something new to experience when I come. Cannot thank the FOH team and chefs enough for creating such great full experience

Great wine list Many more by the bottle as well. Dog friendly seating under cover as well. There were a number of vegan options. Hidden around the corner so a relaxed break on a walk

The moon is a dark, sleek bar and bottle shop with an extensive wine selection. I wish they offered more funky natural wine by the glass but they have plenty by the bottle.

It’s a cool slightly darkly lit wine bar/bottle shop. Tried some nice wines here! They have some unusual stuff too. Comfy and good place to relax.

The bartender was great and took the time to help us figure out what we wanted to drink. I also really appreciate the wine knowledge she shared with us. But despite the good service, we found this place incredibly overpriced for what it is. We ordered the "charcuterie" which was nothing more than one type of meat that resembled something from the Aldi deli section. At $15 a plate, it was horrible value for price. Will find another wine bar in the neighborhood next time.

Much bigger inside than it appears outside. Great atmosphere, staff are very friendly and deeply knowledgeable about the wines. I did appreciate how un-intrusive staff were too - they’d pop round when glasses were finished (and quite quickly), and their suggestions were top notch. We didn’t have any food, but a great experience and will certainly be back.

Yummy wine, friendly and helpful staff and great atmosphere. The only thing lacking for us was the portion sizes - we went for dinner and needed to order so many little dishes to feel satisfied, which ended up costing an arm and a leg. Maybe it was because we are vegetarian which limited our options, but bigger plates and fuller tummies would have made our night 5 stars. Also, please serve bread with your cheese! :)

Great wine bar in Coolingwood food is tasty and very reasonable in price

A beautifully mood lit bar with a fantastic wine list and outstanding service. Their wines are interesting, drinkable and varied, as well as being priced well. The tables and layout is comfortable and feels open, rather than cramped, but not in a wasted space way. Being able to choose from their wall of bottles adds to the experience, rather than simply choosing from a list on a page. An excellent addition to Melbourne's wine bars.

The Moon is an incredible space with some of the best natural wines I've ever tasted. However, the best part about this place is one of the waitresses—Mollie. She puts so much effort into her job—the way she cares, I wouldn't even call it a job. Wine is Mollie's passion, and I've never heard someone describe a glass of Petnat so uniquely, playful, and understandable as her. She's the reason I come to The Moon, and why I love wine.

Great natural wine selection celebrating loads of great local names as well as some special imports. Super cute date night vibe or a takeaway spot for brilliant and exclusive wines for a local BYO or home. Tuesdays you can buy bottles to drink-in at take-away prices ($20 less). Food is a selection of seasonal & delicious light bites to compliment wines. Cauliflower and pickled veg are standouts! Service is varied depending on who's working - some are mega enthusiastic & know their producers and will walk you through the bottles, other staff just wait behind the bar for you to choose. I'd suggest that a destination wine bar with exclusive wines and a luxurious feel should have a full team of enthusiasts for the total memorable experience. Overall, super yum, love coming here especially for the great wine!

We had an amazing time at the moon. The service was fantastic and the knowledge of their wines was very impressive. The food was delicious, especially the caramelised onion and mushroom toasted cheese sandwich. We had a large group (11) and there was no seating issues at all. I highly recommend the moon for a relaxing and enjoyable night out.

I Invited a business partner of mine to join me, who is a winemaker in the Yarra Valley. He and I tried 3 different wines by the glass. Unfortunately we didn't enjoy any of them and when we got to the third glass it had been affected by Brettanomyces (Brett) which I was a bit embarrassed about considerating the wine was poured prior to being served. I was quite surprised the staff didn't recognise this. However, I was impressed with the service, communication and the recovery of the wine replacement. l'm pretty sure they even took some off the bill which I thought was a polite gesture. My recommendation to the business owner is to contact their buyer and seller to make them aware as well as ask for a refund. These kind of experiences, if undetected will repel professionals who understand and enjoy great vino. I'll also be back to give it another shot.

Not a wine guy which is their main thing but the selection of beers is will thought out and changes often enough to stay interesting and there is a small but good selection of unusual and hard to find whiskey.
