Cycling friendly. Was very busy when we visited, but it was great that not only the staff were actively checking vaccinations, you got a cute dolphin stamp when done. Kitchen was busy, but the food more than worth the wait. Will be back.

Great place with lovely hosts. My only complaint was that they had zero vegan/plant based options on the menu and no alternative milks for drinks. While the bar attendant made a special burger to accommodate my request, it would be great if the menu could be expanded to include some vegan options 🌱💞

The Punkah Pub is really the only option for eating out in Porepunkah. It has been extensively modernised and renovated since my last visit many,many years ago. So it looks trendy, staff were lovely, food the usual pub food, good size servings and my friend waxed lyrical about the gyozas. My steak one night and fish another night were good but nothing to rave about. The biggest issue for the group i was with was that it has poor acoustics due to all the hard surfaces especially the trendy polished concrete floor. Our group of " mature" diners just found it really difficult to have a conversation with others. The younger customer probably won't be fazed. Again, looks great, staff all terrific, friendly, helpful.

What a fabulous find. The wonderful staff found us a table just before the kitchen closed. Ordered the prawn pappardelle- WOW- what a fantastic dish, packed with favour, prawns (for a change) and absolute delioushness 👍🏼 So happy about this dish I enquired about the chefs name. And Super cudos to chef Aman and the front of house team for looking after us. Absolutely great night, after what woulda been a crazy Easter for you’ll. Fantastic 👌🏾

Having a wine cellar bellow your feet visible through a glass floor always makes for a dramatic entrance. The expectations rose slightly then as if you bother to build that design feature into your bar your obviously trying to create sone kind of memorable experience. To be fair they didn’t disappoint and without trying all the establishments in Bright I think this might be one of the best ones. The selection is quite varied and most of the food our table ordered was pretty good. I had the salmon salad and I have to say the salmon was not only a large portion but also fresh and cooked well, not over done and hard, but soft and still tasty. From fellow diners I was told the chicken parmigiana was large and filling and not over cooked and dry, the steak was juicy and not over cooked, while the fish and chip batter was crispy without being overly oily. Overall we had a lovely evening with great food so if you’re looking for the best in Bright, this might be it.

Yes so when you walk in you know this aint gunna be basic pub grub and the menu is priced accordingly, The best part is the food i had was delicious and would happily go again and pay that bit extra for the quality tucker they served up.It was very good. First time i have seen a fish aquarium in the mens before and I liked it, didn't feel all the eyes on me at all. Thanks for a good feed.

Lovely location, can't beat the atmosphere; mix of local vibes and tourists. Love the mountain backdrop and the autumn trees losing their leaves. Stylish restaurant area. However the food is very average pub fare - had a slightly undercooked pizza and a barely warm chicken schnitzel. Not many wines available by the glass but good by the bottle. They are keeping to their local best wines which is great to see.

I went for a "pub meal". It was lunch time; to enjoy a steak (with veg.), that was perfectly cooked with delightful texture and flavour. Great views of the hills and Mount Buffalo, the beautiful colours of autumn and the architecture with landscape features of the park opposite, all added to the occasion. The staff were friendly. There were interesting photographs of the hotel's history in one of the dining areas. Quirky appreciation goes, to the most striking features of the toilets. There was a wall fish tank and special photo-art wall! 😲😉

Not many options in the town so was a bit unsure about the pub at first.. but it turned out to be a great place. We didn't have a booking but they accommodated us at a tall table but lucky for us we got a couple of comfy chairs by the fire and it was the perfect spot to enjoy the mazing meal. We ordered some dumplings and a chicken burger and both the dishes were yumm!

Meals were delicious, and of course being co-owned by Boynton/Feathertop vineyard owners ensures there is a great selection of wines and beers to choose from. Could benefit greatly from some soft furnishings to dampen the noise a bit, and a photo timeline on the wall showing Porepunkah's history would also help meld the old history with the new. The more old photos/memorabilia the better! The nice fold back windows and open fire, coupled with the views make this a great place to just kick back with a few drinks and take it all in. Don't miss out - drop in and see for yourself.

So happy to have our local pub back up and running, love the view, the wines, the beers but the food is not good at all, we have tried it a few times , the fish was soggy in the middle, the pizza was not nice at all and the Caeser Salad was the worst I have ever had!! Never again Until there is a good chef. Such a shame the chef pre Covid couldn't come back, he was awesome :(

Amazing dining experience, great range of delicious meal options, friendly service, very efficient over the long weekend that we stayed there, quickly seated fed and finished. Nice drinks and 2 great areas with big screens for tennis or cricket. The accommodation was a different story, nicely decorated but no air con as advertised, just a pedestal fan with 2 days headed for 40 degrees! A broken toilet spewing up its contents after being flushed! Comfy beds and otherwise nice but those things left a bad impression. We'd definitely visit the restaurant again but not the accommodation.

Perfectly located in the middle of Porepunkah, but very crowded and very noisy. Food is typical pub/club cuisine and is OK given they pump out 300+ meals over a lunch period. Plenty of parking in surrounding streets. Suitable for families or groups, but not a quiet meal for two. Certainly not a cosy country pub atmosphere, more like a modern club. A little disappointing.

$18,50 for a gluten-free burger..... no sides. Just a burger in a sandwich... disappointing. But, i understand they thought i was celiac. I’m only intolerant so can handle fries. Apprehensive after reading recent reviews but thankfully it appears food service and service were on point. Staff friendly and very willing to help and food generous pub grub with a slight twist (watch the lamb back strap PEPPERY HOT!). Definitely going back.
