Really fun place to share a coupla beers with some mates. Authentic pub vibes (didn't get the gentrified/alternative/overpriced/pretentious vibes hahahah). The venue is a great size. Bartender was just vibin and having fun. Made me a fantastic Jagermeister with coke. I'm from the South but will embark on the pilgrimage to this spot whenever I have the time.

The Union is one of the best pubs in Melbourne and I have been a long term regular. The food is not quite as good as it once was, but the atmosphere and the place in general is awesome. Best place in Melbourne to go for a drink with mates.

This place looks always the same, in years nothing changes, menus are as solid as they were 5 years ago. And I am very pleased of that. A nice, cosy, fun and relaxed pub, with billiard, an old arcade games table, and plenty of table to choose from. Food it is simple but great. Beers and spirits, just choose the one you like.

Great food, great pub, the girl behind the bar on Sunday night 28th January was rude and served everyone else before me. She had blonde hair. The dark haired girl was great, she served me. I would rethink keeping on the blonde haired girl from last night. Not friendly at all. Get rid of her and employ someone who might actually enjoy their job. Put a damper on the pub. Otherwise great.

Had my 40th there on the weekend in the Deck Lounge, which was absolutely perfect. It has it's own bathroom, outside courtyard/deck with adequate cover and indoor seating area. Perfect for any occasion, plenty of room for up to 50 people (I only had about 30). The pub itself is awesome and the staff were pretty amazing and very helpful. Brilliant place for any occasion, good choice of beer and wine and spirits, funky furniture and great ambiance. I will definitely go back.

Don't take ⭐️⭐️⭐️ as a bad score; it's an okay score. The Union Club is just a regular old school pub, but without some weird chap perched on the stool in the corner. I visit this pub most weeks. It serves various beers & ciders on tap, it has a pool table which is popular with the regulars, it serves typical pub meals - parmas, burgers, fish&chips, etc. It does include vegetarian & vegan options, but it doesn't really do *healthy* options. If you're looking for pub food in a friendly environment, you've found the place.

Classic pub. Do not mess with a classic. Good pub menu and meals, good old fashioned service. Does attract hipsters, but easily ignored. Beef and Guiness pie, schnitzel and Parma are all recommended by me. Good variety of beers on tap and a good outdoor area which is undrtc o ver for wintery Melbourne days. Toilets could use a clean, but I guess that's part of the charm!

Bar staff are a buncha cranky units, beer is served at a glacial pace, but once the beer is in your clammy paw you're in god's country so what's the difference. The carpet is the grand feature of this fine establishment. 5 stars.

Great food, especially for a pub (I know that they're all good these days but I pretend it's still the old days as I enjoy frequent pleasant surprises). Great outdoor area out the back (what fogeys like myself call a "Beer Garden") and the new rooftop area is great - but don't try to brave it on a wet day. My last time here was on Grand Final day and it was packed, but generally it's got a nice level of patronage and is always super-relaxed. Great place!

What a shame that small things can spoil your impression of a good pub. Make sure you take plenty of cash with you as they charge $1 for every card transaction. The burgers are great however they would not honour the special price displayed on their website as the price had 'gone up'. Legally they don';t have to, but we had four burgers and more than 12 pints so would have been good for goodwill considering how much money we spent with them. Apart from that the place is nice, Fat Yak on tap and the beer garden is great. There are so many pubs in this area though so look around.

Bit of a favourite of mine. Traditional Melbourne pub, of which there don’t seem to be enough of around these days – just like a comfy pair of jeans. Multiple areas to hang out – by the open fire in the bar, in the beer garden, on the rooftop deck or in the dining room. Warm friendly staff, cool eclectic crowd and great food (not just simple pub grub).

This is a classic Melbourne boozer with interesting and kitsch decor. It's super comfy with 2 fireplaces and an enclosed beer garden. I don't come here for the food (although I do eat it!) which is standard late 90s pubfare; I go there for the great atmosphere and friendly staff. It lacks the pretension of nearby venues and is a firm favourite of old school Melburbians. You'll love it too.

This is a pretty cool pub. Had the parma and it was a solid 7.5 out of 10. As is often the case, there could be a few more chips but all in all, the parma itself was very nice with a good balance of cheese and sauce. There is a nice outdoor area as well, for when the weather is warmer. Very nice.

This is one of the best pubs in Melbourne! Aussie pub charm and decor with lots of room inside, outside and a rooftop area. A 50 meter walk to the 86 tram on Smith street which will take you to the CBD in 10 minutes. edit: The food is not up to par to pub food. Little car or love is shown in the food, the calamari and chicken parma plates had lots of chips and not much squid/parma. The sauce on the parma was watery and tasteless 2 out of 5.

If mismatched old chairs, burnt steak and sticky date pudding drier than the Sahara Desert are your thing, you've come to the right place! Sit back and watch in awe as the who's who of Fitzroy revel in the decor reminiscent of your nan's lounge room. The chefs won't let you make the mistake of ordering your steak medium. They will ensure that it is blackened to perfection as any Michelin star chef would demand. Your sticky date pudding will be a clump of sand served on top of a thin layer of butterscotch sauce that is impossible to get on your spoon from the plate. Blue Ribbon (assumed) vanilla ice cream could not be faulted. House cola was cold and fizzy.
